what a genius idea - kings hawaiian bread for hot dog or hamburger buns!!!! this place beats puka dog (in hawaii) and berkley dog for flavor, creativity, and atmosphere! for the vegetarians, their veggie dogs are long enough to hang off the sides of the buns!!! i had it soooocali style and loved it so much, i might not get to try all the other combinations! the sig other had the fonz and gave it 5 yelp stars! other cool stuff - they have bottled mexican coke and fanta, and yoohoo - they make a sweetcorn/bacon milk shake - not for me, but sounds like something fun to try - they make some good quality crispy (and not soggy) tater tots - they sweet potato tots i might have to try one day -cool tipping jar says "not for cows" =) thank you yelp for another great recommendation! read more

if youre a fan of kings hawaiian sweet rolls (who isnt?) then definitely come here. theyve cleverly found a way to make these rolls act as the bun to your hot dog and the bun to your burgers! so genius. their menu is enormous and everything looked pretty tasty. i got the Holy Aioli which was a burger with white cheddar, bacon, caramelized onions and garlic aioli. it holds true to its name cuz holy moly it was good. i also thought since the bun is made up of 4 hawaiian rolls, it helped with neater eating & u could divide them in to 4 equal pieces. service was quick and servings were huge. definitely come with an empty stomach. id like to come back for one of their hot dogs. probably something spicy or of the bacon wrapped variety. read more

Every time I drive by this the line is always outside the door. So last night my fiancé and I decided to check it out. We were not disappointed! The line moved fairly quickly and the service was the great. Cashier was super friendly and so were the rest of the staff. Seating is hard to find since the place is small and is always crowded. I had the sliders and man they were finger licking good. That I was tempted to order 2 more. My fiancé had the downtown dog with everything on it and when he took the first bite out his dog he asked me "is I possible to have a mouth orgasm?" That is how good it was to him. They use Hawaiian bread which I believe adds that extra yumminess to the meal. The fries were real potatoes (better then in n out) and the tatter tots were delicious as well. I have now been to all 3 dog Haus locations including the beergarten. I LOVE this! all dogs and burgers are served on Hawaiian Sweet rolls...mmmmmmmm The menu items are really creative. I get the Hangover. Its a burger with chili cheese, smoked bacon and a fried egg. I love a fried egg on a burger. The sweet roll compliments the savory, salty smokiness of the rest of the burger. Seriously its a pretty good place. I mean, they have plenty of condiments to choose from...such as the celery salt!?! I ordered the Holy Aioli burger with includes a patty, bacon, white American cheese and garlic aioli...all on a Hawaiian hamburger bun. I had the Thanksgiving hotdog. It had tater tots on top with some cranberry sauce, but it was waaay too sweet. I also had the beer-battered onion rings. It was good. The Dog Haus is one of my favorite places to grab drinks and food with friends. Great atmosphere for socializing with the live DJ playing music and the top notch beers on tap. Phil the bartender was a kind gentleman who really knows his beverages. There menu has a wide selection. I had an Old Rasputin, which was rich and potent, and the Little Mule Burger substituting grilled Tater Tots(bomb) for the patty. We shared a pitcher of the Epic Lager for $20 after that which was a perfect companion to our game of Giant Jenga. They have a tower of Jenga blocks set up in the lounge for everyone to play. Stop by the Dog Haus and challenge your friend to a game of Jenga for a guaranteed good time. read more

This is one of the best places (must go to) places in Pasadena. I went to Dog Haus, when it first opened up - before all the accolades began to come in. I remember getting the burger with the bacon and egg on hawaiian bread and a bratwurst with the works on it, and I remember being so stuffed that i did not eat anything the next day. So the next day I went back a second time because I loved it that much. That should say something because i never go back to a place two days in a row, unless it is that good!! And yes - it is that good!!! Both my roommates who I've taken to Dog Haus did the same thing I did, and I betcha hundreds of other people have done the same! Also, just read that Dog Haus is so popular now that it is going to be franchised and will open all across the country! Consider yourself lucky if you get one near you! Make sure to not eat anything the whole day because it will make you so full you won't need/want anything else the entire day! You can call it the Dog Haus Diet! =D Note, parking is a bit tricky (small number of spaces behind & beneath the building, and weekend lines will be long. The trick is to park on the street walk and go during the off hours. Weekdays are better than weekends, but when you have that burger itch, what are you going to do? You have no choice! This place is SO GOOD. I came here after a visit to the Huntington Library. Their hot dogs are different from other places which makes it even better. Unfortunate that they have changed their menu to cut costs. The Scott Baoli used to be one of their best non-spicy dogs, and is now smothered in this horrible cheese sauce (and is bacon-wrapped instead of with bacon sprinkled on it like before). Another Night In Bangkok has been replaced by some stupid Thai Fighter that has none of the character and complex flavor of the original. Additionally, the burger we ordered was too dry tonight (with someone's hair in it -- yuck!), and the fries were limp. It took over 20 minutes for the food to be cooked: a new record. This is the second disappointment in a row for our family with Dog Haus after being monthly customers since they opened here in Pasadena; we won't be back. read more

This place has definitely bested Slaw Dogs. Dog Haus has bigger hot dogs for cheaper. They have pre-designed hot dogs or create-your-own. There's a little condiment counter that has the basics (ketchup, curry ketchup, different mustards, garlic salt, hot sauce, diced onions, tomatoes, etc.) for free. There's tier one toppings for 50 cents each and premium toppings for 75 cents each. Also, bonus points for currywurst on the menu! No need to ever go to Slaw Dogs again. read more

I got a groupon for this place last week, I have been to a few other "gourmet hot dog" spots and not been happy, but it seems Dog Haus is very different. We ordered sliders A++ , a B.L.A.S.T. hog dog A! a order of chili cheese tots B-, a Bratwurst (for being the signature item) C, wish I would have ordered the Italian sausage plain. I've eaten hotdogs in downtown all my life. My mom would always go shopping in the toy district and fashion district all the time. So i don't mind eating street food, but my boyfriend is kind of germaphobe and never wants to try the hot dogs in downtown when he really wants to eat one. So when i found this place he loved it. I really wanted to love this place based on all the really good reviews from yelp. I went there first with my sister and then again with my sister and bf. The first time I think they kind of forgot about us after we ordered and we had to wait kind of a long time for our hot dogs. When we finally got our food, the bratwurst was good, but served on a hard bun that was kind of difficult to bite through. The tatter tots were yummy though. The second time, I got the Cowboy which came to me with cold American cheese on top. The hot dog was barely warm. I liked the hawaiian roll though. Came here thanks to a suggestion from a friend that lives in the area and this place delivered. It now holds the rank of my second favorite burger joint in the Glendale/Pasadena avenue. Had the Holy Aioli burger and it was amazing. Everything just worked, from the hawaiian bread, to the spread to everything in the burger. I also added lettuce and regular onions to the burger and it made it even better. Didn't try the sausages but they looked pretty hefty as well. Fries were great too although my friends didn't care for them. Also like the fact that the decor isn't so pretentious had me loving this place even more. It's a no frills burger/hot dog spot. Bunch of different sauces to choose from too. They have curry ketchup which has definitely grown on me and a bunch of other sauces to experiment with. This place gets an A++. read more

been wanting to try this place for a while and luckily they happened to be vending at the Philharmonic's Festival on the Green! i THOUGHT i wanted a bratwurst sausage and so i got the sausage... ... then the manager/owner? (someone) asked us if we've ever had a haus dog... no, we answered... and well... a haus dog we must try, said he... so he proceeded to make us a "Sooo Cali" with mixed greens, diced tomato, tempura fried onions, spicy basil aioli, and avocado... on the haus! um... OMG... it was DELICIOUS!!!... yes... it completely overshadowed the poor sausages... well... finally got to go to the actual store location and i got the "Downtown Dog" (haus dog wrapped in smoked bacon with mayo, mustard, ketchup, sautéed onions & peppers)... w/ grilled jalapeños... and it was... of course... AMAZING... my sweetie pie got one of their specials the "Old Town Dog" (cousin to the Downtown Dog) which had cotija cheese, chipotle mayo, sautéed onions & grilled jalapeños... which i wanted to steal from him... anyhoo... they have a condiment table with a variety of mustards and el yucateco hot sauces (my fave)... i'm glad they are not across the street from me, because my cholesterol would be through the roof... it's okay... i can salivate from afar... read more

After hearing about this place from a few friends, i decided to go there for lunch with a few friends. Just by looking at the menu, i knew that i would like it. I ended up getting the B.L.A.S.T. and the Amigo. Both were fantastic, and i still cant decide which one was better. One of my friends got the Sooo Cali, and that was great also.
