Guy at the front counter needs a serious attitude adjustment. Rude and unhelpful to say the least. We were waiting to order but guy at the register was on his phone and looked at us a couple of times without asking us if we were ready or anything. We ordered on the tablet next to register since he wasn't helping. Got confused with a drink we order. Asked him for help and rudely said "that's why I don't like using that I'd rather do here on the register". Dog Haus was gracious enough to give Yelpers an opportunity to try out a hot dog, a side, and a soda. I tried the Amigo hot dog. It consisted of a large weiner, chili, diced tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream, tapatillo sauce, and the all important King's Hawaiian Bread. It was quite delicious and very succulent. I love the fact that they use Hawaiian Bread as that gives it a unique texture and flavor. Also, I chose the chili cheese fries as a side. The fries were okay.....it was a hit and miss. I felt like something was missing with the chili. All in all, I had a good experience eating at Dog Haus. Finally got around to trying Dog Haus and it was superrrr delicious. It's also pretty cheap for the amount of food you get, which is always a plus -- paid around $28 for 2 cheeseburger sliders, an old town dog, 2 corn dogs, sweet potato fries, and tater tots. Everything was hot and fresh, the fries and tots were crispy, it all just hit the spot. The corn dog is huge!! Couldn't finish it. They use Hawaiian rolls for all their buns, which I thought was pretty unique/cool! Plenty of street parking as well. Would def recommend, and would come back to try some more of the menu! read more

After leaving Lucky Baldwins Saturday night I walked past Hill Street and could see the Dog Haus in the distance. At first I was just going home but I could not resist. Like a moth being attracted to a light I had to go. After scanning the menu and looking at what other people were eating I ordered "The Fonz" with fries and a drink. So what is the is the Fonz? I'll tell you. It's a spicy Italian sausage, pastrami and melted mozzarella sandwich on a good crunchy french roll. Before I ate my sandwich I walked over to their condiment bar. Their curry ketchup was the bomb and it added a great touch to my crispy fries. I put green habanero sauce and pickled jalapeños on my Fonz. Finally I sat quietly at my table and began eating, eating with a vengeance like the pig I've been made into by society. The juice of the sausage dripped down my face. I needed a lot of napkins. The flavor of the pastrami was juicy, not fatty, not too salty and the crunchy roll just wrapped all the flavors together. Next time I'll try a hamburger. Made out with a hot dog?! Omg that was one time! Sorry for the Mean Girls' reference, but seriously, Dog Haus's hot dogs were so good that they are make-out worthy! Never ever have I been wowed by a hot dog until now. I ordered the Grand Slam, as that seemed to be one of the more popular choices. The Grand Slam comes with an all beef frank, smoked bacon, tater tots and an egg inside a toasted Hawaiian bun. I normally don't really like eggs, and I initially ordered mine without eggs, but the look of horror on the cashier's face and his insistence that I try it with scrambled eggs convinced me to think otherwise. I am so glad he did though, because everything added together just created an explosion of savory, delicious, breakfast-y goodness. The sweet Hawaiian bun really makes a difference and is makes the perfect complement. I also got the Sweetie Pie, after reading the reviews and looking at the pictures here. Sweet potato tater tots, topped with cheese, butter and brown sugar, how could I resist? This was some seriously powerful stuff. I suggest that you share this with a friend or two, because the guilt that I felt after nearly finishing it was nearly as great as how sinfully delicious it was. The joint is low-key yet modern. The tables are picnic table style with large stools for seating. It's a relatively roomy space, with plenty of seating for patrons who come pouring in during lunch and dinner hours. What's awesome is the condiment station, which boasts a bunch of different kinds of toppings and sauces. Curry ketchup anyone? Everything was love at first bite. Okay.....I really wasn't sure what all the hype was about this place. I visited here on a Thursday after work to pick up to go. I really couldn't figure out what to get, everything looked so good, and interesting. My husband got two veggie dogs with dijon mustard and caramelized onions. He said they were the best vegetarian hot dogs he has ever had and pointed out that the hawaiian buns really made them that special. I got the cowboy which was basically your western bacon cheeseburger, except, a hot dog on a hawaiian bun. Extremely good, yet really hard to finish. I also was able to take a few bites of a regular hot dog with sauerkraut and mustard, that was also really, really good. Also got the tater tots with the curry ketchup, definitely different but also extremely good. I haven't seen this place packed yet, so I don't know what that's like. The food did take a little bit long to come up though and there was only two other people ahead of me. I would recommend reading the menu before you get there so you know what you want before you go. And one of the closest, best-rated, restaraunts was Dog Haus. I like how it's in a quiet neighborhood with plenty of parking and trees. Yes, I like eating around nature. I had the Downtown dog and the bf got a Grand Slam and we shared an order of tater tots. Omg! I didn't even know that they used King's Hawaiian rolls until we were waiting for our food and noticed the staff slicing up their buns to hot-dog/hamburger sizes!!! It was such an interesting mix..and OH SO delicious!!!! No school lunch will give you King's rolls. And their tots? Nothing like those baked, dry middle school tots. We saw this place on Yelp and drove straight to it. As we ordered, the cashier told us that they were having their holiday party tonight and that they will close at 830 pm sharp. We had about 30 minutes.... That was enough time. We ordered the Sooo Cali Dog, The Little Mule, and tater tots. When we got our food, it ended up being Sooo Cali, The Freiburger, and tater tots. I don't know why the order got switched, but we didn't have chance to get it corrected since we didn't want to have even less time to finish our meal. I hate being rushed when I'm eating.... I didn't like to tough skin on the hot dog. I also didn't like the way the hot dog was not possible to be held in my hand and bite into it. The hot dog had to be eaten with a fork and a knife... not my idea of eating a hot dog. Besides my preferences, it tasted pretty good. I had mixed the ranch dressing with the green hot sauce which is definitely doing if you like spicy. This made the hot dog and tater tots so much better. The tater tots were excellent! Crispy!! I would have like to try the curry ketchup, but they were out at the time. So we used the ranch & green hot sauce mix that I made. The taste is out of this world! The Freiburger tasted good as well. The french fries in the burger were a bit overly crunchy. I thought I chipped my tooth when I ground the hard corner of the fry between my teeth. It sounded and felt like a piece of the bone from the burger patty or a broken piece of my tooth. Yikes, I thought. What a relief when I figured out it was the super crunchy french fry. My friend and I stopped in today (Wednesday) around noon- there's convenient parking behind the building and we didn't have any issues finding a spot. My friend and I ordered two separate hot dogs that we split in half so we could taste two menu items for our money's worth. I ordered first with the Sooo Cali dog and wow, it was amazing. There were a lot of textures and flavors- crispy fried onions vs sausage vs the mix of fresh vegetables/fruits (wild arugula, tomato, avocado) topped with the spicy aioli- YUM! I'm not sure if it was because I started with the Sooo Cali Dog, but the Old Town Dog just didn't match up to the nice balance of texture/flavors in the Sooo Cali dog. It was spicy as well but a little one dimensional? Neither my friend nor I finished our halves. (Of course, that could be because of the tater tots and just how big both dogs were... be prepared to get messy!) Unfortunately no beer or wine at this time for this location, but they are listed on their menu with a "coming soon" sticker. I haven't been to this original location since it was purchased and turned into a chain. A lot has changed since my last visit. I had the hangover burger, which was good, but not great. It's a cheeseburger with bacon, Chili, topped by a Fried egg on Hawaiian roll bun. I like real cheese and they use a cheese sauce, also their chili is mediocre at best. This would be a much better burger with an upgrade an ingredients. Given the price point it would be something you should expect. Also we ordered the chili cheese fries which had exactly the same problem as above with the Haus chili and the liquid cheese that tastes like the cheese out of a can you use for cheap nachos. My daughter had a Cowboy dog with bacon and cheese, barbecue sauce. The dog itself was tasty. This is a classic example of one of the better burger places that started off with a great idea and then got marginalized once it turned into a corporate chain. read more

As the frequenting of this location isn't accurately reflected by the number of my official check-ins, so too is the fact that there has yet to be an item ordered here that has disappointed any tongue in the family. Star Three: Service. A careful combination of friendly and serious, we patrons were greeted with sincere smiles while witnessing hard workers promptly wipe down table surfaces mere seconds after a customer's departure. (potential) Star Four: Architecture. The layout is not as inviting for a longer stay as the location in Alhambra in that the array of seating resembles more of a military mess hall than communal comfort. (potential) Star Five: Energy. The lack of TV sets might explain my speculation that average stay times at this branch could be shorter than the Alhambra experience; a retro video game console in the rear can't compensate for bar beer drinking around a live televised sporting event. Bottom line: we will be back to this location but will, until possible renovations, always prefer the Alhambra Dog Haus to this one regardless of the distance from home. read more

I used to just like hot dogs and now I really love hot dogs. I had the tae kwon do dog today and it was tasty, fresh and light. I might have expected more toppings, similar to the crazy overdose from Pink's. The hot dogs are not fatty or oily here. Tae kwon do is a playoff of Korean bbq. Theres a Kbbq glaze, kimchi, some red chili pepper and a fried egg. I think I would have been okay without the fried egg and could have taken on more kimchi. That's just me. I do love my King's Hawaiian bread. The bread was lightly grilled and super soft - perfect. i also ordered the asian slaw - this was not drowning in oil or mayo or anything just refreshing. The hubs had a mushroom and swiss burger which was made up of 4 dinner rolls for the bun. He said the flavor was good, but felt it needed more meat. He could have been just hungry or it really needed more meat. I do have to come back to try the Love Boat which is tater tots with chili and slaw. Tater tots are a favorite of mine. There are sausages here as well which means several visits will need to happen to try it all! Parking is convenient on the street or directly in the back. The restaurant has an industrial feel to it and has a narrow layout to the space. Staff seemed friendly and it was pretty busy when we went or lunch today. One day there will be a location closer to home and I'll be an even happier camper. read more
