First time EVER eating sushi, and I liked it! The Domomite was excellent, the best of many good sushi we tried. Also enjoyed Pink Lady, two that started with "Hot" (can't recall the names), Viper, and more...just one of the 8 or so was not delicious to my palate (it was mushy and had roe on it). Overall the sushi was presented well, extremely filling, and tasty. Maybe a bit salty (even with the lighter soy sauce), but drink a lot of water and you'll get by. Why not 5 stars? The price is probably reasonable for good sushi, but I can't give it a perfect rating if another place could do the same for less, and I suspect that's possible. Ambiance was good, staff was polite, and we stayed till they were mopping the floors! Delicious, just a bit expensive as we paid $120, $140 after tip just for 2 to dine out. There are many top notch restaurants I can eat at for $70/person, hence 4 stars. read more

I'm originally from the Detroit area where great food is everywhere. I've been looking for good sushi for a long time in Toledo and finally found it at Domo. Like my husband said I don't give out 5 stars easily. I have to crave a places food bc it's so delicious to give a 5. Anyway, the thing that sets this place apart is their freshness. You could taste the difference. We ordered four rolls..the pink lady, crab Rangoon, spicy California but we substituted to sashimi tuna on top bc that's my husband's favorite and then the samba with sashimi tuna. Honestly they were all good, we just didn't care for the samba due to the cilantro. We eat a lot of Mexican and tacos at home so the cilantro in my sushi was just strange. We loved the crab Rangoon it reminds me of a salmon roll back home that I love. The ginger dressing on the salad was delicious. Just a hint of garlic that really elevated the dressing. Our waiter Stephen was great. I told him what rolls we normally like and he made suggestions and offered substitutions so we got exactly what we like. I've never subbed in sushi restaurants before so that was an added bonus for me for sure. read more

I was so excited when I heard that Domo was re-opening! My husband and I loved the Sweet Crunch Roll from years back and that was the main reason we were going back. lol We get there and the decor is nice but some of the color selections were questionable, but the overall look is clean. Our server was cute but not trained completely and didn't know how to describe the specials or engage with guests. She just stared blankly at us when we said that we wanted more water or that the restaurant was freezing because the hostess was leaving the first door wide open so that when the second door was opened, the cold air was shooting through the restaurant. We ordered the Sweet Crunch Roll, teka maki and a few pieces of sashimi because, as I mentioned already, we had been craving the Sweet Crunch Roll for over 2 years! It didn't seem super busy at the time (8:30pm on a Friday night) and we know that sushi takes some time to prepare, but 1 hour 20 minutes later we still hadn't received our order. We flagged down our server and she went to check on our order. Five minutes later it arrived. Let me preface this by saying yet again how much we had been waiting for the Sweet Crunch Roll. We both remember it being such a sweet and succulent roll that was large and plentiful. The roll that they brought out to us was about half the size of the original roll when the restaurant was on Dorr and Reynolds. To be fair, it was good, but not exceptional. It seemed like there was something missing. The rest of the sushi and sashimi were good, though cut at an odd angle based on the striations in the meat. The tuna sashimi was tender but a little more pink than traditional fatty tuna which is generally a dark pink / almost red color. We will go back again to see if this was just a random experience because we want to give them a full 5 stars! read more

An exquisite experience with a marvelous selection of sushi and entree's. While the portions are Americanized the feel and atmosphere of this restaurant is exceptional and makes you feel like you are welcome at every turn. The art and stylized lay-out feel cozy and open in a surprisingly small space and the servers are by far the most vibrant I have experienced in this type of eatery. I was delighted to partake in the following rolls and I will rate them according to how I felt. Pink Lady - A wonderful fish range and a complimentary sauce to top; this roll is one to beat. Great taste and great price! However the pink soy wrap may be off-putting to some. Three Musketeers - slightly under whelming but also one of their cheaper rolls. Overall it is very delicious but needs something extra (Soy/Wasabi) to really up it to the next notch. Overall average/Above Average Dragon roll - I love Domo's rendition on this roll and it is quite the unique experience. They offer a customization roll with this one as you can choose from several different fish for the internal component. The flavor is phenomenal and the freshest avocado I have had in years. I recommend this roll to anyone who has a picky fish preference. I would also like to point out that the Sushi Chef's are amazing here. They are able to make every combination of rolls stunningly unique in design no matter the variable. Every dish I saw come from the Sushi station looked like art on a canvas. read more

Sushi was very good and there is a lot to choose from. Everything was fresh and the rolls are big. 6 rolls was sufficient for 3 adults. I haven't spent some much on sushi in a long time! The quality and freshness is excellent. I roll I got for $24 with lobster in it was disappointing. It was a little too rich and for 8 pieces not worth the buy. But the Dragon roll and the combo of American rolls (24 pieces- Alaskan, California, Boston, Philadelphia) was a good bargain. I come here about once a month. Everything I've tried here has been good. The fish tastes fresh and the rolls are very flavorful and larger than other sushi places in town. The calamari appetizer is huge and delicious. Domo Krunch is probably my favorite app and the Hot Love roll is a highlight on their menu that seems to have something for everybody. Servers are hit and miss, but I've never had to wait long for a table or had an unreasonable wait for sushi. Also, takeout is done well. read more

The sashimi ceviche appetizer is excellent and we have ever gotten takeout from here because we love it so much. Came back here with the fiance and it is still quite tasty! I've come here for a work dinner and really enjoyed the fresh sushi/sashimi, so I thought it would be the perfect dinner night for the fiance who was craving Japanese. We started our meal off with some softshell crab (~$5). Very tasty! We always love softshell! Just wish it was a bigger portion! We then went with the butterfly roll ($7) which had salmon for the main protein, Godzilla roll ($18), Puma roll ($17), and the raw sweet shrimp Nigiri ($8). The winners of our meal were definitely the Godzilla roll and the raw sweet shrimp nigiri. The Godzilla roll was HUGE! We maybe ate half of the roll. I would definitely recommend this roll, it has a splash of spicy mayo and some crispy bits of rice? on top. So yummy! Expensive for a roll, but I would definitely get it! The fiance LOVED the raw sweet shrimp!! You get 2 pieces of the raw shrimp nigiri, and then they fry the shrimps heads for you to eat! This is a delicacy in Asia. Just close your eyes, and pop that delicious, crispy shrimp head into your mouth! Definitely worth it and it just looks so awesome too. Proabbly one of the better sushi joints in Toledo that we have found so far (Kengo is good as well, but different; definitely better then Koto Buki!). We will for sure be back! Has decent vegan food just don't like the shataki mushroom roll because the mushrooms are mushy and hard to chewy up and the grasshopper roll because all of the vegetable in it are fermented which is really hard on my stomach. I like all of the other vegan rolls though. read more

My kids and I decided to try this place on a total whim. We were a bit under dressed, but it ended up being just fine. Wait time was very short and the hostess smiled and was friendly. The waitress was quick to come to the table to get our drink orders. I ordered Hot tea and loved the type they serve here. It tastes like roasted rice, full bodied and bursting with flavor. It took us a while to decide and the waitress was wonderful with checking back and answering our questions. I ordered a sushi combo. It was good and the kids tried all the rolls with me. Very well made. The kids ordered Chicken Teriyaki and loved it. It was served with a huge mound of juicy chicken that was breaded and cooked to perfection. We decided on the red skinned mashed, which needed a little salt, but it made them perfect. It was also served with perfectly steamed broccoli. All of our favorites were the Miso soup. I had to promise the kids if they did not like their meal, they could get more soup! We ended the night with Mochi - Mango and Strawberry. We all loved the mango the best. I highly recommend this establishment. It was higher priced, but if I had the money, I would drive across town to go here. read more

We had a great time at Domo. We had never ever heard of the place.When we got there we were told that we would have a 40 minute wait for any sushi ordered. We were fine with that since we weren't in any hurry. We ordered some steamed dumplings and loved them. Then we ordered more steamed dumplings. When we finally got our sushi it was very good. I thought that the wait staff was very professional and great. Lastly I had the Red Rice Ale. I had never heard of it but I tried it. It was very good. It tasted a lot like a wheat beer.
