This was a pleasant find. We were craving Japanese food in the area, and this place did a great job with their curry and katsu. The price is also reasonable. I got the Pork Cutlet Curry. The cutlet came out nice and crispy. I do wish there was more curry sauce in the dish. Their karaage was also pretty good. The place isn't too big, but they have few outdoor seating too. I would be down to come back again. It did take some time to get the food out but wasn't too long of a wait. We did street parking.

I LOVED my food here. It's a tiny place to tucked off Pine Ave so it's easy to miss but you shouldn't. There's a cute older lady there that was behind the counter she didn't rush me and was very kind. I got the katsu curry udon noodles and let me telllll you. Whoa. It traveled well, by time I started to eat it 20 min after I picked it up the chicken was still crispy, the noodles tasted delicious and the curry was excellent. I'd def go back!!!

Donburi Cafe was a very delicious, aesthetic, and quick spot for a tasty dinner. We had the chicken katsu curry and the Nabe udon with shrimp tempura. It was the perfect dinner in Downtown Long Beach. Service was also quick and professional!

I came for a quick lunch and got the spicy chicken. This is my second time coming. The food was awesome and so flavorful. I ordered the same food last time and the quality is the same. It's the perfect amount of spice with tons of delicious flavor. I would definitely be back and recommend it to anyone looking for good food with flavor. This is probably one of my favorite restaurants in this area. The owner is very nice and the place is clean. There is space to eat inside and outside.

Small and tucked away, but definitely worth finding! We were greeted by a friendly woman who immediately knew it was our first time. She said "I know everyone, and I've never seen you!" And she gave some recommendations. I had the katsu curry udon. I forgot what my husband had, but he loved it! Haha! My meal was VERY hearty and filling and perfect on a cold evening. Great flavor, the katsu stayed crispy in the sauce, and the flavor was perfect. Generous portion, which I can't believe I finished, but I went in STARVING! The place is small/cozy but had some outdoor seating which would have been great on a warmer day. Highly recommend!

Wow! I was pleasantly surprised when I traipsed down Pine Avenue and popped into Donburi Cafe. The location is somewhat strange being kind of a 'dead end' in an older mall setup on Pine. I had dined at a neighboring restaurant that unfortunately closed so I popped into Donburi. Only one person was seated outside at the time; upon questioning him - he said it was good. The place is amazingly clean and organized. Without a ton of staff, they obviously want diners to take on some responsibility for bussing their trays back to the main counter and NOT being wasteful with utensils, napkins, etc. I like that. I ordered the Spicy Chicken Don albeit I'm not a huge chicken fan but it was getting close to my bedtime. First, the portion seemed quite generous so I took some home albeit I could have finished it off. Second, the miso soup was really delicious. I forgot how good it could be. Third, finally, the chicken don was quite good although I think more Korean than Japanese, which is fine. I like both and I appreciated the white rice. By the time I left, several other folks had popped in and a few takeout orders had gone out the door. I wouldn't mind if they offered a mini portion for about $10 for less hungry times. I'll be back.

Stumbled upon this small restaurant while exploring LA. The smell was enticing when we entered. The worker was very sweet. She made sure all the customer were happy. The food was wonderful. The most crispiest katsu I ever had. The udon curry was delicious and piping hot even though we were dining outside. It was a magical experience.

3 pieces of chicken for almost $20... what a ripoff. Ontop of that the chicken is 90% breading. Other items are much better portioned but i feel shafted from this... dont get this if you do come here.

i love this place so much. Ms. Jung is the most sweetest and attentive business owner & server. I've came about 10 times and everytime it's been an amazing service with her. I love the fusion ramen 10/10 and it's such a lowkey place to go on a cute date. The food is always freshly made and very delicious 100% recommendable.

My other favorites are Striped Jack and Hokkaido Scallop. My friend, who doesn't really like eating fish, loves their Double S Roll (tempura shrimp & fried scallops.) The service has been mostly wonderful. We did run into one hiccup when we found some hard, jagged black chunks in the Double S Roll that we couldn't eat. Unfortunately, we were placed at a small corner table where several mosquitoes were flying around, and both of us were bitten multiple times during our meal. We originally ordered the butter scallops and the hamachi kama (yellowtail collar), but were told they were sold out, so we had to order something else instead. The food quality was good, and the appetizers came out promptly. However, my chicken teriyaki never arrived while we were eating. After we had finished our meal, I flagged down another waitress to cancel the order and ask for the check. A few minutes later, I noticed my chicken teriyaki had been delivered to the wrong table before it was eventually brought to ours. The biggest issue was the service. Our original waitress never checked on us, asked how everything was, or offered drink refills. I had to flag down another waitress for drink refills, and she was the only one who was attentive. I still left a tip because of the other waitress who helped us, but overall the poor service overshadowed the good food. Sadly, I won't be coming back.

I started off with a Jumbo beer, which is worth the upcharge. It's too much beer and definitely a good time. The roasted vegetables were so good that I ordered a second round of it later in the meal. It's so simple, yet so perfect. The other salads are good to have to start your meal. When at Homareya, you MUST get their nigiri. It's not what they're necessarily known for, but I think that Homareya has the best sushi in all of Long Beach. The rice is perfectly cooked and seasoned, and their fish is fresh, simple, and so freaking delicious. I also got a couple of their handrolls to try, which were also good, but you NEED to get their nigiri sampler plate. They are known for their skewers, so I got some pork belly skewers, which were good. It's fun to sit at the bar and watch them work. Then many groups started to arrive and checked in as well, finally 3 tables became available and I assumed we would be seated first but I was wrong. The host started seating groups that had arrived after us -- I then went inside to get an update ... the host was not trying to make eye contact but I was finally able To get his attention and informed him we had been waiting for 30 mins at this point. The menu had such a wide variety of Japanese cuisine, from sushi, to katsu, to donburi, there's something for everyone! Loved the modern clean vibes of the interior. We also ordered a plate of nigiri as our appetizer, and the fish quality was really fresh. I ordered the chicken katsu plate for myself, and my was it delicious. I've never tasted katsu so light even though it's typically fried, and love the sauce they paired the katsu with. It was almost like a mustard? But it wasn't too overpowering or anything. We finished the night with the tempura ice cream, and let me tell you, this is a MUST. I honestly just expected them to throw some panko on top of a scoop of ice cream, but Te-Buru's take is (somehow) baking a tempura crust right onto a giant scoop of ice cream and then cutting up the scoop into wedges. The ice cream surprisingly did not melt all that quickly either, and the matcha flavor was on point. Our servers were quick to meet our requests, nothing super outstanding but made the meal pretty seamless. Prices I think were pretty standard except for their sushi. Those are bit on the steeper side, but again, their fish quality is really good. So keep that in mind if you want to grab a quick drink and delicious quality bites while you're enjoying the rest of the LBC LBX. *Recommend this place for date night or big group hangouts and special occasions, as it is fun and inviting atmosphere. Def be back to try the Wagyu Ayce Menu! Hoping they will add Salmon Skin, Ama ebe Shrimp & some other sushi staples soon.

SOOO AMAZING i'm already obsessed with this restaurant. i was VERY pleased with my dining…read moreexperience at osaka story :3 i need to come back asap -- it was that freaking good. i think i stumbled upon this place through a recommendation from yelp so shoutout to yelp i love u yelp. absolutely exceeded my expectations! the menu is HUGE, like several pages long, so you're bound to find something you'll like ~ not to mention, the service was excellent! very attentive and friendly servers! the interior is also soo cute at night + there's an outdoor dining area. we ordered the mango tango, black mamba, and orange bikini roll. they were all so good, but i think the black mamba was my fav. it was a tinge lighter than the other rolls with a dash of citrus that i really enjoyed! (i think from the ponzu, i LOVE PONZU)! every bite was BURSTING WITH FLAVOR :') incredible combinations. chef's kiss. parking is on the street, so it CAN be tricky to find a spot... but the area is lovely to walk through, especially at night! we were told the meters aren't active after 7pm and parked in a 25 minute loading zone spot with no problems at all.

It was supposed to be one of those really hot out of the ordinary March days when we came here, but…read moreon this particular evening as soon as I drove over the bridges, I saw this huge cloud over the Long Beach area. I did not come prepared for a chilly night. We were supposed to just have coffee and go for a walk, but we needed a warm place, so we stumbled upon this place. It's actually pretty good. We sat at the counter/bar. The servers were nice. What we got: Salmon/tuna poke bowl: quite yummy. A mixture of both salmon and tuna in a great poke sauce over a bed of rice and salad. Salmon skin salad: if you like salmon skin, this is yummy. A perfect crunch seasoned really well to complement the bed of greens. Furikake fries: thinly cut potato's with furikake seasoning paired with a sweet mustard dipping sauce. I would have enjoyed more Furikake on the fries, but that's just me. This place has real wasabi if you ask for it instead of the watered down stuff you usually get. It's actually pretty good! Overall great food and great service. I'd come back for sure!
