The food quality was good, and the appetizers came out promptly. However, my chicken teriyaki never arrived while we were eating. After we had finished our meal, I flagged down another waitress to cancel the order and ask for the check. A few minutes later, I noticed my chicken teriyaki had been delivered to the wrong table before it was eventually brought to ours. The biggest issue was the service. Our original waitress never checked on us, asked how everything was, or offered drink refills. I had to flag down another waitress for drink refills, and she was the only one who was attentive. I still left a tip because of the other waitress who helped us, but overall the poor service overshadowed the good food. Sadly, I won't be coming back.

I also got a couple of their handrolls to try, which were also good, but you NEED to get their nigiri sampler plate. They are known for their skewers, so I got some pork belly skewers, which were good. It's fun to sit at the bar and watch them work. Off of their specials menu, I got their Japanese curry inspired beef tongue, which was such an amazing and inventive interpretation of japanese curry. The other thing i don't like is the vibe. Im used to going to bars where the bar tenders and wait staff will chat with the guest. That was not the case here. They were focused on serving drinks and food and less focused on the vibe. The drinks are great but i wouldn't return due to the lack of energy.

They start you off with complimentary miso soup, which was full and rich (a bit salty for my liking but that's just me). We also ordered a plate of nigiri as our appetizer, and the fish quality was really fresh. I ordered the chicken katsu plate for myself, and my was it delicious. I've never tasted katsu so light even though it's typically fried, and love the sauce they paired the katsu with. It was almost like a mustard? But it wasn't too overpowering or anything. We finished the night with the tempura ice cream, and let me tell you, this is a MUST. I honestly just expected them to throw some panko on top of a scoop of ice cream, but Te-Buru's take is (somehow) baking a tempura crust right onto a giant scoop of ice cream and then cutting up the scoop into wedges. The ice cream surprisingly did not melt all that quickly either, and the matcha flavor was on point. Our servers were quick to meet our requests, nothing super outstanding but made the meal pretty seamless. Prices I think were pretty standard except for their sushi. Those are bit on the steeper side, but again, their fish quality is really good. For parking, they do have a small lot, but there's also street parking and parking in the neighborhood behind the restaurant. You'd be delulu not to try Te-Buru!
