Arrived on a Sunday at 12 noon. This place is poppin! Super busy and loud place. The service? Splendid. I'm talking amazing freaking service. My sister was with me and brought her two dogs and they let the dogs sit without any issues. In fact, a ton of people had their dogs!! Wow!! So, ordering.... I got the dory burger. 5/5. It has ham and bacon as well. I have no idea why this burger was so darn good. I had it cooked medium rare and it was just delicious. Drools. Yummy burger for reals, and I don't say that often. The pickles on here were also diced. Loved it. The fries? Yep. These fries had salt and pepper on it!!! Gosh the best fries ever. I want more, right now!!! So you order by going up to the cashier and they give you a number. Self seating. Might take awhile depending on how busy they are. The order took around 20 min. Yeah that's a freakin long wait but well worth it. Would I come back? Yep! You bet!! Delicious place. Oh my seat wasn't as clean because a lot of beach goers tend to frequent this place. Great breakfast burritos! Portions not too big. Love the boardwalk burrito that has hash-brown crunch in it! Also got a matcha iced latte which was good! Staff is very nice. This is place amazing! I've been wanting to go here for years and I was finally able to go. I love the indoor/outdoor layout of the space. It's not very big but it's a cool little spot. They have seats that face the ocean which are awesome! They are also following Covid social distancing and have tables closed off to make sure there is space between guests. As for the food, I got the Rocky Balboa and it was soooo good!! (Also got a side of fries, YUM). The sandwich was a decent size so I was only able to eat half of it but the flavors were great and the bread was perfect. Definitely am just try. I read reviews on the Buffalo Mary so that's going to be my next try! They also have serve drinks as well so I had a draft beer on the side which was a perfect combo for my meal. Didn't want to do this but here we go, enough is enough we've been coming to this bar for years for the ambiance and the staff sadly both those things are gone. The new staff ignores us, rolls their eyes when we place a simple drink order, and talks negatively about the guests loud enough for us all to hear. We've made complaints to the wonderful staff that's been there for us and those who seem to pass as management around here, but nothing has seemed to be done about it. This is dumb, we used to be greeted with a smile but not this morning and never from the newer people, bad attitudes, bad vibes, worse service. Get better Dory or me and the Mrs. are gone! read more

So it can get kind of loud and rowdy, but the vibe is always comfortable and relaxing, plus it's dog friendly. Cocktails are fire and I was digging them for sure! I ordered the beach mule and it was an instant classic and the Frozé was a splendid sugar punch to the gut! I would've ordered more if I haven't parked just outside the restaurant. Appropriate service, that was attentive and was able to get all of our drinks and meal orders for a group of nine, which can be a handful. All her food came back nicely and the food came in waves. The menu is vegan friendly and highlighted a sautéed rice and beans with Orange California bowl and fried avocado tacos. As for burgers, the Figgy was to die for and really hit the spot. The food was absolutely the worst. Every item was either burned or over cooked. The bagel sandwiches were inedible, the egg overcooked. The waffle dry and overcooked. All of which was presented on a piece of paper on an aluminum tray. Service? There was none. Had to ask for a napkin and then for cutlery. The worst food preparation in my experience, ever. Upon leaving we were greeted with the restaurant's garbage cans which accounted for the swarm of flies in the restaurant and those that took up residence on our table and the rims of our drinking glasses. The avocado was lightly fried had a red cabbage slaw and cashew creme. The Buffalo Mary sandwich was phenomenal it featured crispy cauliflower smothered in buffalo sauce on a sub roll with shaved celery and carrots served with a dairy free ranch! (This was my favorite but i never ate the entire roll it is too much bread) The Idaho thick cut french fries were seasoned to perfection with salt and pepper and were crisp not greasy! I came here yesterday night on Valentine's Day with my boyfriend and his niece and nephew. The food looked so good on Yelp and the reviews seemed pretty legit. I wanted to eat something a little more on the healthy side so I ordered the medium size of the caprese salad. This is not on the menue but it is one of their side dishes that is displayed in the case. For a medium size ($7), I thought it was a pretty good size. When I took a bite into it, I thought it was just okay. It didn't taste as fresh as it looked and some of the tomatoes were a little to mushy. We also ordered the DORY BURGER ($11): Burger topped with hot pastrami, horseradish-beet sauce, pickles, caramelized onions, and swiss cheese on a brioche bun. I thought this was fairly decent but a little messy to eat since all the juices started flowing out. A very hearty burger if you want lots of meat KIDS MENU........ MACARONI AND CHEESE ($6): Pasta, white cheddar cheese sauce, and bread crumbs. I thought this was super delicious and very VERY cheesy!!! Even if this was on a kids menu, it could definitely fit a full sized human being. Very reasonable price not for a kid but for an adult :) PB&J WAFFLE ($5): Waffle with cashew butter and strawberry preserves. This was actually pretty tasty. The jam was so good!!! The also give you for slices of oranges, which didn't taste to great. Not juicy at all I definitely want to try this place again but not anytime soon read more

This is a great little spot to grab a sandwich and beer when visiting Newport Pier. Located right on the beach front facing the always crowded pier parking lot, Dory Deli offers a concise menu of hearty breakfast burritos, burgers, thoughtfully made sandwiches, and a respectable list of draft beer and wine. With a narrow line of table tops lining the open store front and a handful of flat screens spread throughout, the space feels both cozy and open. Despite how crowded the place can get at times, it's actually a nice setting to sip on some beer and watch a game. I almost dismissed this place as an overpriced tourist trap of a deli at first, mostly due to it's prime location. And at $9-12 per sandwich, they are certainly not cheap. But after trying a few of their sandwiches, it's pretty clear that these guys are serious about their food. The cubano sandwich came with a simple combination of pulled pork, mortadella, pickled onion and swiss, but the flavors worked well together and the texture of the toasted sub roll was nice. The Italian Job was similarly simple in presentation, but was packed with a lot of flavor. They also offer a small deli case of freshly made poke, hummus, and salads, which can be added as a healthy side. Although the area surrounding the pier is not particularly known for good food options, this little deli has some surprisingly fresh and tasty offerings on their menu. If you find yourself wandering the beach with the need to eat something, you probably won't find anything nearly as well made and enjoyable as Dory Deli. read more

Dory is located right on the beach front of the Newport pier area. Craft beer. Nice patio to enjoy the weather. Pretty ideal if you're looking for an alcoholic libation and some food if you're in the area. I ordered the Pistol Pete's which is a pastrami, coleslaw, Swiss cheese, Russian dressing on rye bread. This was so good. The pastrami was thinly sliced, and although it was a tad greasy, it was real good and exactly what you're looking for if you had a hankering for a good pastrami sandwich. I especially liked that the pastrami wasn't too salty and the coleslaw wasn't too cabbagey. I also shared a side of their fries, and they too were surprisingly delicious. A nice crisp on the outside and nice and soft on the inside. Parking is no bueno here. It's metered parking and Newport is popular during the summer, so have patience if you find yourself in the neighborhood. read more

Sergio made up right away for the kid that just walked away and didn't even greet us. They let me try a few things because I was curious (even his own concoction of Mac and cheese ) and their pork is really good (definitely not light though haha). However the taste lingered in my mouth for quite some time. Very succulent for pork! Color me impressed. I ended up getting a sandwich which was good (not the pork) but the ingredients were fresh and I love the squaw bread that they toasted it on. My friend had the tuna salad and I got to try the tuna. It tasted really fresh! They didn't use mayo but used a lighter ingredient which made a difference. Their ahi they get from a place that catches it daily so it's really fresh! Ahhh everything here was great! They even had a good choice for green tea and not the crappy little store brand bags! Atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. It is right next to the beach so it has a cute charming beach house feel without being a dive. Great music as well! The last 2 times i visited this area of newport, it was packed with people so id recommend coming on a weekday and off hour for a smaller crowd. ordered the fish tacos and poki bowl, and both had super fresh and yum fish and ingredients. prior to dory deli, I was never a really big fan or fish tacos but after trying dory deli's I'm a definite fan. another customer made a comment that the meatball sandwich and chicken+waffles were really good, so will definitely be coming back to try those! read more
