I sent her a copy of Dave Browns response on Yelp and a copy of my BBB letter that states it contacted Dublin Mazda twice and hadn't heard back. She said I have a case but I'd need to go to small claims court. Honestly, I've already wasted enough time at Dublin Mazda dealing with their dirty antics. UPDATE: Dave, the Manager of the Dealership reached out in good faith and I have an appointment to replace my broken/cracked new Remotes (2 different 2020 CX-5's, so it appears they will step up to the plate after all. It was a great conversation, and a point of reconciliation was reached. I will update this review again, once the remotes are replaced, and re-programmed, if necessary. Thank you Dave Brown and Dublin Mazda. * * * * * * * * * * * * * I regret that I must add to Dublin Mazda's recent string of ONE-Star reviews, and I rarely give any business that lowest rating. However, my recent communications with their newer manager "Sam" leaves me dumbfounded. First, let's start with the positive. I love Mazda's products generally. I should. I own 3 of them now, having purchased the last 2 new 2020 CX-5's from this dealership, and their above-average sales rep, Erin Vikjord. He's knowledgeable and a very straightforward guy. However, when I went in to the dealership for our first service, late last year, I showed Erin my key fob, that had a cracked shell, on the side, holding the buttons. It cracked in my pocket, simply pressing against my own keys! What? My 2016 Mazda has a very sturdy solid key fob design, almost bullet proof I think, but the latest revision downgrades to a flimsy bulkier fob. He felt bad, of course, and promised that although the part was "back-ordered," (understandable) he would call me. He took a photo of the cracked fob, in fact. So after several months, not have heard from Erin, and his not responding to a few reminder texts and an email too, I reached out to the Sales Manager Ken, whom I had met before, and he was a good accommodating guy. Unfortunately, Ken is gone, and I was patched into Sam. From the beginning of the convo, Sam was oppositional and confrontational. He put me off at first. But left messages later. He wanted me to drive the 35 miles RT to make my case all over again with the Service Manager. For my key fob, and also a second new key fob on the CX-5 my son drives! Same result in 4 months! Cracked from normal use. Sam tried to argue, in a hostile tone, eventually yelling at me, that obviously (sight unseen) since he never heard of this problem before (yeah right) that I must have "dropped the key fob," causing its demise! How ridiculous is that?! As if a brand new key fob on a $35,000 new car is not designed to withstand a drop from 30 inches? Sam eventually devolved into an all-over-the-map approach that "he is not to blame, since he doesn't build the cars." Huh???? Proof of the flimsy design of this fob is (1) it happened twice in the pocket of two separate drivers/customers, and (2) Amazon I find out, now lists dozens of pages of after-market Mazda key-fob (newest version) key fob "protectors." Like an Apple iPhone needs screen protectors?? That's a joke really, but unfortunately quite true. Eventually, Sam hung up on me. He stayed on hook long enough to tell me that sorry key fobs are not warrantied, like the rest of the car, and I would have to buy a replacement (costs hundreds) since it was my fault "obviously." read more

I dropped my 2019 CX-5 on January 20th after finding an oil leak, left it there and turns out I had a crack in my engine. (on a brand new car who knows how this happens, but besides the point) It is now March 10th and I got a call from my service tech Justin ( he's great btw) yesterday saying that the SECOND engine is defective and they need to order another one. I say second because the first came in the 12-13th of February but was also not usable due to shipping issues. So now we're onto the THIRD engine to hopefully fix my car and lets hope its not on back order. Needless to say I've been pretty patient with everything happening to my car, I can't roll with the punches much longer. If the engine is having the problem, the brain and power of the car, why haven't I just gotten a replacement instead of trying and not succeeding in fixing it?! I use my car to Lyft and I have a dog and for the past almost 2 months I haven't been able to use my car to make money and I can't have my dog in the loaner vehicle they gave me. I bought a new car to not have these problems and yet here I am and all they've been able to say is I'm sorry we have our higher ups aware of the situation. A couple issues early on in the process that prevented me from going in-person. I am searching for a car and am deciding between two models from different brands. I am getting price estimates in advance so as not to waste anybody's time. The sales rep I am dealing with named Daniel Gruen told me they do not negotiate over the phone or email, but "promised" they offer the lowest price. Then he tried guilt tripping me into working with them because: "I'm sure you see the value in doing business with a local family owned business where sales tax will go into supporting your local community and school district?" Especially in the current environment of COVID-19, there are many family owned businesses that are struggling. There are also a lot of businesses that give back to their local communities. I did not appreciate this tactic for trying to guilt-trip me into working with him. Many dealers are family-owned and I will find one to give my business to. Please consider taking a different approach when working with prospective customers. read more

I really like my 2016 Mazda 3 and after my recent experience with Dublin Mazda Service, would give them a 6th star if possible. A couple Friday's ago, I discovered the battery was dead on my Mazda. Looks like my wife accidently left the cockpit light on overnight and this drained the original battery. I called insurance auto-service and they tried jumping the battery however, no success. The auto-service guy thought the starter was the issues. My Mazda recently had its routine maintenance with all "green lights" and so I doubted he was correct. However, just in case, had the car towed to Dublin Mazda (didn't cost me anything). For a variety of reasons, the experience with auto-service guy was way too difficult and took too long. I was getting exasperated. I called Dublin Mazda, explained the situation, and let them know the car was on its way. My service advisor was Justin and he was very helpful. They did the diagnostics and determined a dead battery cell (starter was just fine). I believe Justin sensed my frustration with the insurance auto service guy as well as knew we recently had my Mazda's maintenance service done. To my amazement, he said they will replace the battery for free. Yes, free. How often does that happen with a 4 1/2 year old car. He mentioned the loyalty we had with Mazda (yes, we own 2 of them and with prepaid maintenance). Of course, saving money is very nice however, super kind treatment when having a bad day is priceless. read more

Tristan Freeman (internet sale) will bend over backward to make your purchase experience stress free as possible. Then he just doesn't stop there, we had some issue with accessories that was purchased with the vehicle, and he was right there to take the lead and getting the issue resolved. To me that is a perfect "10" on the Mazda Purchase Experience Survey, which he highly deserved. BTW, I used Costco Auto Buying Program to get a "good" price, and negotiate with Mr. Freeman from there. Then completed a Costco survey to receive a coupon for 50% off on parts and labor, up to maximum of $200! I found that it's more cost effective to use the coupon to purchase accessories after purchase then getting it with the car purchase, unless you are financing it or you can get accessories for 50% off or less. read more

The 2 stars are for Erin V, our wonderful sales guy. He was fantastic to work with, and very patient, even when things got complicated. Definitely not your usual slick annoying car salesman. Very nice, genuine dude. The missing stars are for the rest of the experience I had. It was a massive let down of a day. I ended the day happy with my new car, but overall pretty pissed off with the entire experience. It took over 5 hours for the entire thing, even though we walked in knowing exactly which car I wanted (which they knew the day before), had all the paperwork and funding ready to go. So I did all the paperwork, paid cash for the car. Head out to load my bag into the car and one key fob didn't work at all. They said that it would take 2.5 hours to reprogram. They let us take my car I was trading in so we could go run errands and get lunch instead of just sitting in the dealership. Another sales guy on the floor who got us the keys to my old car said they would put a full tank of gas in my new car since we had to wait. Which was a great thing to offer, especially since it only had a quarter tank in it. When it came time for us to go back to pick up the working keys and the car, we called to check if it was ready. Erin said it'd be ready by the time we got there. It wasn't. Another 15 minute wait, and when they finally gave me my new keys, the trunk wouldn't open with either key fob. So yet again, another 30+ minute wait to get both keys reprogrammed. Begging the question, why did it take 2.5 hours to reprogram one key, but then they could somehow do both in 30ish minutes?! I know it was a busy Saturday, but come on. I already paid in full. Whoever fixed the key the first time should have tested all the buttons to make sure they worked. Shouldn't that be on a checklist for EVERY CAR they sell?! The whole time we had to sit around inside waiting throughout the day no one asked if we were being helped or if we needed anything. Lots of guys just standing around, or milling about joking with each other. I eventually got my new car, both key fobs worked. So we pull out to head home FINALLY. They put NO gas in the car, and it had under a quarter of a tank of gas. Judging by speed of service we received with the other issues, I was not about to go back to get them to go put gas in the car. Lord knows how long that would have taken. I was just DONE with the whole day, as we had missed out on some of our plans due to how long it all took. I'm super happy with my car, and I loved working with Erin. But I'm pretty pissed off about the rest of the experience, and would likely not go there again to buy another car. Dublin was out of my way, but we went because they had the specific car we wanted. In the future, I'll stick with my local Fremont Mazda. read more

Don't go. The manager talks down to women...here's my story: dropped car off at 10-11 am. They lost my car once, couldn't find their service tech (I have the text messages to prove it). Did not contact me. I had to contact them and they told me they can't find my car or the tech and told me they will call me back. Mind you it's 4 pm and I had to literally force them to pick me up and bring me to Mazda and when I raised my voice because they LOST MY CAR the male manager yelled back at me. Finally when I got there, he still hadn't brought my car to the front and made me wait longer. Since then I never went back. I spoke with Troy several times this week about a car they had in stock that I was interested in purchasing. On Thursday I advised Troy that I was going to buy the car and would be there on Friday evening to make the purchase. After leaving work on Friday I used Uber to take me to the Bart station and headed over to Dublin. I live on the peninsula so it took me a little over 2 hours to get there. The plan was to drive my new car home. When I arrived at Dublin Mazda I was met by another sales person. Troy had let me know ahead of time that he would be off but he had everything taken care off and he would leave all the information with another salesperson. After introducing myself the salesman's first words were "oh, the car you came for has been sold"! Sold??!! What?! Troy said all was taken care of. I spent over 2 hours to get there for a car I had committed to buying and driving home that night and you sold it to someone else and couldn't even call me and let me know?! Wow! I was speechless. If that wasn't bad enough, this salesperson then tried to sell me another more expensive car. I sat down to try and process what had happened and that was the last time I saw the salesman. Wow have things changed in the car sales business (fortunately for the better). i did my research between the smaller top vehicles in their class and after much research between Honda, Toyota and Mazda, Mazda 3 had them beat for the best value for buck and the most options for the buck. When I arrived, I was introduced to Richard Uhlenberg. Former military member, we had a lot in common. I explained my situation, wanted to test drive the car and wanted to get out of there without haggling and having to "get the manager" which drives me nuts buying cars! When we took the test drive Richard was great. Zero pressure, very informative, chatted about many thing, not trying to sell a car but just let us do our think driving and answering questions as they came up. Best test drive as it was extensive, we did u-turns, backing up and parking to see the rear camera, and doing some very tight circle. We returned to the office and I let him know I knew was the cars cost, dealer hold backs and wanted to just get the deal done so best price was needed and if it wasn't best price, I'd know. Well not only did I get an INCREDIBLE price, it was better than expected (which is rare). This is the time all the 2018's are arriving so the 2017 have massive incentives right now as well as 0% financing. He showed us the paperwork and all the information. We got the deal done quick. I left for lunch while they detailed the car for my daughter and got all the finance paperwork ready (it's always worse than buying a house with all the signatures!). The process with the finance manager John Sutfin, was great. He tried to upsell the usual paint and internal protection, extended warranty, etc and I ended up getting the 5 year maintenence plan which ended up being the Ultimate plan that covers all minor and major service through 2022 at any Mazda dealership. Compared to my local mechanic he was able to nearly match that price I pay but provided the convenience of my daughter being able to go to the Mazda dealer near her college, so win/win for both of us. Everyone was extremely friendly, zero pressure, and Richard is probably the best sales person I have dealt with in all my car purchasing experiences in the past 5 years. He was upbeat, always a smile, friendly, VERY knowledgable as he knew every feature, function and answer to every question immediately. This guy is someone you want to do repeat business with. I really don't usually praise car sales experiences, but I cannot deny this was a great experience today at Dublin Mazda. 10 out of 10 on their survey for sure. 5 stars all the way. ***Manager of Dublin Mazda***, Richard should get a bonus for this experience. I called in to get an appointment for an oil change , they told me to come at 2:30 and it would get a 1.5 hr turn around. So I went out my way of about 35 minutes because it was the only dealer that had an appointment for today. Once I get there they told me ... what appointment? I don't have anything scheduled for you. Told them I had called and talked to someone on the phone , and they preceded to tell me that there isn't enough room , we're even asking customers to leave or come back tomorrow, especially if you don't have an appointment. We parked right in front and walked their entire lot looking for a Grand Touring Mazda5. We even walked into the showroom where one employee made eye contact but didn't acknowledge us. We found one Touring model across the street and one Sport model parked in the lot near the lot entrance. Dublin Mazda - My new CX-5! In love! A year of research payed off - Car Dealers Near Me - Dublin, California

Beware of "Bay Area markups" if you're dealing with parts and service. My husband, sister, and I have been coming to Dublin Mazda for our 3 Mazda 3's for over 8 years and we've had no problems when we just need a standard oil change, but every time I need to replace something else on my car I walk away to find out I've been taken advantage of. Just took my car in for a large service and they informed me that o2 sensor needed to be replaced. MSRP for this part is $184.39 through another Mazda dealership's website but they charged me $224.96! That's over a 20% markup on MSRP. When I asked why the part was so expensive, my service rep literally said "Oh you know, Bay Area markups". Cool thanks Jesus. He also told me labor was just under $200 an hour, and they charged me $425.99 in labor for this part. So it took them over 2 hours to replace a single part that's easily accessible once they have the car lifted. When asked about the cost of labor my service provider said "Oh yeah you know they have to lift the car up and install the new part and then it took another hour and a half to diagnosis". Uh huh, sure it did. Several years ago I let another service rep, Ken, convince me that my car needed new tires. I can't pretend that I know a lot about cars so I foolishly trusted my service rep to do right by me. He sold them to me during a massive rain storm and I was slipping around all over the roads because new tires have no grip until they're worn down a little! It was the most terrifying drive home of my life! In summary, this dealership is great for standard maintenance and oil changes, but be wary if they're trying to sell you anything extra. They're not afraid to take advantage of their customers, especially if you're a woman who clearly doesn't know much about cars. I've been making the mistake of assuming they have honest pricing and value their long term customers. I only know that I've been taken advantage of because I come home to a husband that's flabbergasted by my bill and does the research on the back end. I decided to go through Dublin Mazda this time after having bad experiences are Fremont Mazda. My husband actually took my car for me on a Saturday morning to get serviced. Anthony Green was very helpful and took care of us. It turned out that the maintenance service package I had was through a particular company and I couldn't use it at Dublin. Anthony called Fremont Mazda to check on my package so my husband didn't have to pay. Anthony provided my car VIN number and the person he spoke to let him know it's all good but what they were looking at was my old car which I no longer own. It turned out Fremont Mazda messed something up and my husband had to pay for the maintenance. Anthony instructed what we can do to get reimbursed and also provided his number and email so we can follow up with him. I gave Anthony a call today and he explained what I needed to do to get the reimbursement. He also took it upon himself to help me get the reimbursement by calling the number to get my money back. He is very friendly and knowledgeable. I'm really happy to have found someone that cares about others experiences and cares about customer service! I will be going back here! We had an appointment with Troy yesterday. This was my husbands potential 2nd Mazda and Troy was great. He had my husbands trade in valued and between him and the manager made the numbers work. It was a long day but by the end my husband had the car he wanted with a deal he felt great about. I recently bought a car from Concord Honda and I will probably not go there again. DO NOT....DO NOT...buy a used car here. I purchased a car here and before I could drive it off the lot the rearview mirror fell off. Had a 30 day warranty on the 31st day the car broke down $800 repair bill. now about 3 months after purchase its back to the repair shop...$$$$ waiting for the bill. if you have to buy here...i suggest only buy Mazda if that's your thing. anything else RUNNNN RUNNN FAST OR YOU WILL REGRET IT. Dublin Mazda conducts an illegal hard inquiry into our credit without your authorization that hurt your credit record. Worst dealership experience. After the test drive, the salesperson, without even talk about the price, go directly to a 60-month loan option. When asking about the best price, he gives us a sheet with MSRP + 5000$ plus extended warranty and service package. Then, he tries to push us for a buy today with a 500$ discount from MSRP. He even says "I've shown you guys the cars and give you a test drive, I should be compensated for my time". Left right after that. Then the manager dares to leave me a voice message saying that I hear you guys are close to making a deal and ask me to go back to finish the negotiation. What a joke. read more
