Duck Nook is a solid breakfast place that does everything right. I usually get the Chicken Fried Steak with Hash Browns + toast and that will fill me up until dinner. I've split the meal before and it still fills me up a good amount. It comes with two eggs and ample amounts of hash browns (which are my favorite). The country potatoes are also pretty delicious because it comes in thin slices rather than chunky potatoes (ok both are delicious forms. Potatoes are just delicious in general) There's ample room for larger parties so it's nice to come if you have 6+ people because you'll most likely be able to get a seat. It's also nice because they'll automatically split the bill before you even pay. Each of us (party of 7) received an individual check for our orders so we didn't have to put down one card. I've always driven by this place on my way to the library thinking it was an Asian market that sells duck. The name sure sounds Asian enough - duck nook duck nuk, see? I've finally heard enough raving about this place to finally be convinced that this place is to be tried. To eat: + French toast platter with sausage and over easy eggs + Hot link platter with eggs and hashbrowns The portions are fat and happy. The bread is already buttered. You don't need to put extra jam on there but there is a mini selection of grape, mixed fruit, and so forth. They are attentive with the coffee pouring! I was really excited to try Duck Nook after reading the more recent reviews. I came here with my partner and we were not disappointed. She ordered the French Toast Delight (2 eggs, 2 bacon or sausage and 4 pieces of French toast). She LOVED it. I don't really like French toast but I tried it and liked it as well. I ordered the Vegetarian Omelette with Hash Browns and Sourdough Toast. I also ordered a side of sausage links. Everything on my plate was SO good. The hash browns were nice and crispy which is rare to find. The server was on point constantly refilling my partners coffee and my Diet Coke and water and asking us if we needed anything else. As of today, I would have to say this is my favorite breakfast spot in Stockton. I am looking forward to coming back to try their lunch menu! read more

The food was reasonably priced and the portions were huge! It was a full plate of deliciousness! I had the Country Scramble with country potatoes and my friend got the French Toast with bacon and egg whites. The Scramble was SO good. The fluffy eggs were cooked perfectly with a hearty amount of bacon, sausage, mushrooms and other veggies with peppered gravy on top. So I decided to finally try out this place after passing by it for so long and can't believe that I didn't come sooner! Called for takeout and it was done within 15 minutes. Ordered the country potatoes, sausages, bacon, over-easy+scrambled eggs along with their Duck Waffle and French Toast Delight. They were all neatly boxed and had plastic silverware included. There was also some jam for your toast as well. They were all delicious!! Love love the French Toast. Definitely large portions for the potatoes too. Can't wait to go back on my breakfast days! My buddy brought me to Duck Nook for breakfast last week before dropping me off at the airport. I had the duck waffle with eggs and sausage and boy was it filling. The scrambled eggs and sausage were pretty standard. But the large waffle really made my day. The server brought over syrup for me to put over the beast before I devoured the whole plate. I also ordered coffee, which comes with refills and taste fresh! The service was great from start to finish. The waitress brought coffee refills a few times and provided everything needed for a great breakfast. The restroom is also clean. Overall, I would have to give this place a five just because the plate was better tasting than a Denny's breakfast I had in town a while back. I don't usually post reviews for restaurants but I felt very strongly about letting everyone know about our experience today at Duck Nook. We have been coming to Duck Nook for decades for breakfast. The food is pretty much consistently good but the service has been hit and miss. The atmosphere is not super friendly. But today took it to a new level. We asked to substitute potatos for meat on our dishes. The waitress said great no problem. When we got our check they charged us $5 for the potatoes each. . When questioned she basically said it says on the menu No Substitutes. She was rude, and to make it Getto and totally unprofessional I could hear the cook in the back screaming F bombs about how F-in mad she was that we didn't read the menu. Literally a sign up that says, may take up to 15 minutes just to be seated, with a few people in restaurant it did take every minute of the 15. Ordered the skillet with three different meats. For some reason, ever since I was little up until high school, I thought this place was some sort of duck paraphernalia store (for instance, selling curtains with pictures of ducks on them, or duck ceramic statues, etc.), because of it's name and the large duck on it's sign. I also failed to read the sign underneath which would clearly state that it was a food establishment. Yay for public education! Anyway, this establishment looks nothing like it does outside. Tucked near the south part of Miracle Mile, Duck Nook definitely doesn't seem like much from the outside, but has a warm, homey vibe to it once you are seated. I went here for brunch with a friend and I was not too pleased with the food. I got an omlette, which also came with hash browns and toast. The toast was very buttery. The potatoes were incredibly greasy. I really could not eat that much because each piece of potato was so glistening & shining, I could probably squeeze a teaspoon of oil from each piece of potatoe. At first, when my friends were telling me about Duck Nook, I thought it was some horrible tacky disaster of a diner with scary wooden ducks plastered all over the walls. But when I stepped inside, I was pleasantly surprised by how charming and warm the diner was. I ordered the Early Bird/Riser Special which comes with 2 eggs, side of potatoes, 2 sausage or bacon. Their house potatoes are some of the best I've had. It's not your traditional breakfast potatoes cut into cubes. These potatoes are thinly sliced ovals so they're crunchy and golden on the edges and soft and warm in the middle. Soo soo good! I also had a love affair with their bacon. It was so crispy and minimal fat and grease. Not that it was healthy by all means but you can at least feel that way. Came here Friday morning after Thanksgiving bc after eating a lot the night before, you wake up wanting to stuff your face again. It didn't start well when we waited at least 5+ min for any of the 4 employees that kept walking by to even greet us. Although once we did get seated the service was actually pretty good. As for the food I ordered the Country Scramble. Everything tasted good but portions didn't match the price. For $9.49 I was hoping the scramble (eggs, chopped bacon and sausage, cheese, country gravy) would be the more filling part, but it was the country potatoes that took up most of the plate. The food here is okay depending on what you order. The chicken fried steak, for example, is dry and too salty, but the hunter's platter is pretty good. The reason for my scathing review is their customer service is awful. They're attitude is as though they're doing you a favor, and they couldn't care less about your business or your satisfaction as a customer. It's very close to my house, so I've been there quite a few times, and each time I've taken someone or a group with me. I had ignored their bad attitude for my own convenience, but today they took it too far. I ordered the hunter's platter--the same thing I order every time I go--but this time I forgot to ask for hashbrowns instead of country potatoes. When I finally got my meal (too long after my friend got hers, but I was used to them timing the orders wrong) I looked down at my plate with disappointment. I said "Oh no. I forgot to order the hashbrowns instead of country potatoes." She looked me and said, "Oh well, this is what you ordered." She rudely and begrudgingly agreed to let me exchange it, holding the plate in my face and saying "Then what am I supposed to do with this?" I bit my tongue to keep from telling her exactly where she could put it. Then she sent another woman out to tell me they weren't going to exchange the order. I politely reminded her that I come there often and bring them lots of other customers each time, so it would cost them more money to lose me as a customer than it would to exchange one order. She said "We're not gonna' waste food because you don't know how to order." No. Instead they're going to waste food and make no money at all from me ever again because they don't know how to do math. My friend left her plate on the table, and we left. So that's two plates wasted because they don't know how to do customer service. I understand that I made a mistake when I ordered, but they should care about their customers (particularly the REGULARS) enjoying their meal and having a positive experience regardless of whose fault it was. What's worse is the way they went about it. They were crass and gross in their behavior, completely ungrateful for my loyalty as a customer. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more
