The seafood risotto was phenomenal, banana leaf steamed fish and shrimp has such a nice flavor profile, and the macadamia nut crusted fish was also a wonderfully cooked piece of fish. Coconut shrimp was the only thing we kind of expected more than 4 pieces for the price, but they tasted good so it's ok. Dinner menu has something for everyone, but great for seafood lovers! We also had a live musician who was fabulous while we sat on the deck with a beach front view. It is pricy because of the location, but no more than any place within walking distance. We celebrated our 40th Anniversary at Dukes and it was an unforgettable moment. We were greeted with a card signed by the staff and were seated with a view of the ocean. Our dinner was one of the best we had. We shared a wedge salad that was enough for four people and the hummus. We ordered the baked fish and Dukes fish, both were spiced to perfection. At the end of our dinner we received a complimentary Hula pie. Omg, it was so yummy. Again, it was enough for four people. I highly recommend eating at Dukes, but you need a reservation. So glad we didn't get a reservation at the other most thought after restaurant. This one topped it, in price and view. We watched wales from the restaurant. We came to Duke's for my birthday--our first night in Maui--and I was genuinely excited to try it. I've always loved Jake's Del Mar in San Diego, which is owned by the same company, so my expectations were high. Jake's has been one of my favorite restaurants for years, and I was looking forward to the same level of quality here, especially the famous Hula Pie. The ambiance is beautiful--right on the water, open, tropical, and relaxed. It's everything you hope for in a Maui dining experience. The staff was warm, friendly, and attentive. Our server was wonderful, and everyone we interacted with was welcoming and kind. The service here easily deserves a 10 out of 10. But the food... sadly, that's where things fell apart. My wife ordered the seafood risotto--it wasn't bad, but the fish was a bit overcooked, and the shrimp just didn't have that freshness or perfection we expected. I ordered the petite prime rib with lobster, and while it looked great on the plate, the lobster was so heavily seasoned that it lost its natural flavor entirely. If you're a lobster purist like me, skip it. We brought a special 2000 Whitehall Lane Reserve--a beautiful, 25-year-old bottle--and while the wine was perfect, it felt wasted on a meal that didn't match its caliber. When the food doesn't hit the mark, you're left asking yourself: what exactly are you paying for? Duke's has incredible ambiance and wonderful service, but when the kitchen doesn't deliver, the experience falls short of its potential. Hoping the Hula Pie redeems the night. read more

I missed out on taking any pictures here past the apps due to a low battery. However the sticky ribs were amazing. Not only did the ribs easily separate from the bone, but there was plenty of meat and the flavor had a nice kick and bit of uniqueness that separated it from the standard bbq 8.3/10. After that everything else was average until the dessert. We got the pork sandwich along with the fish tacos. They weren't bad but they weren't amazing. Nothing stood out. Could we eat it again? Yes. Would we crave any of it outside of the ribs and desserts? No. The hula pie was delicious. Usually any combo of ice cream and hot fudge results in everything melting and being a mess and for the price certainly not that large of a dessert. You could easily share this with the family 8.3/10. Overall the staff is friendly, Music is great, there are great views of the beach and if you're staying at the resort or an affiliated one, you're in close proximity to one of the nicer pools in the area. Absolutely delicious dinner at Duke's on the night I decided to visit! The place was busy and we were told we'd have a 30-45 minute wait but literally 6 minutes later, we were being seated. Which I appreciated! They have live music and this place sits right in front of the ocean. They have lit fire torches all around and the ambiance is truly beautiful! Our waitress was very friendly! I had the seafood risotto which was different but really good. Not usually something I'd order but I wasn't mad about it. I also had a Caesar salad which had tomatoes that I asked to be omitted. They made a small error in not doing so but immediately corrected it for me. We didn't get it but we saw about 6 waiters/esses come out with slices of Hula cake and boy did it look amazing!
