This is my "Diamond in the Rough" rating. Went here for a Saturday lunch (on the recommendation of Yelp) and can tell you it is now a place I will visit again...and again. Hats off the Chef Ben and his crew. The service was highly attentive from both the bar and kitchen. The cheese curds would make any Wisconsinite proud (and jealous.) I mean...lordy. Thinly coated enough to be so damn crispy on the outside and luciously melty on the inside. I could have eaten those all day long. I'm a wings guy and the buffalo wings Chef Ben served (he personally delivered them to the table, btw) were undeniably some of the best I've ever had. HUGE. They were like drumsticks. And CRISPY. What?!? Wings with sauce that are crispy?!? Yep. Perfect amount of heat too. I would eat those all day long too if I weren't already eating the cheese curds all day long. I've eaten a lot of burgers in my life but I would have to say the Pour House Burger was one of my top favorites! I usually drown most burgers in ketchup but this burger was perfect without adding anything extra! I also tried their Mac and cheese (hog wild) and I would also have to say this is an instant favorite! I'm just disappointed I haven't found this place sooner! Walked over on a Saturday night to grab some food and drinks. We sat on the patio which was small but nice. Had the trio of dips (Ruben, buffalo, jalapeno popper) and buffalo wings; all delicious. Specialty cocktails were all really good, especially the watermelon margarita. Service was great and our server made some great recommendations. We dropped in for an 11 year old bday after leaving an arcade in Rosemont. Read Yelp reviews of nearby restaurants and settled on this one. First impression, it seemed like a local tavern, and we were a bit leery with the kids being there. Our server dispelled any issues with a big smile and a big personality and soon we felt like family. The menu is great, not overwhelming but everything we ordered was made with love and it shone through. We mentioned the Yelp reviews and the chef came out to thank us for stopping by. So, the Buffalo chicken dip was gone almost as it hit the table, followed by perfectly cooked wings, crispy outside, super tender inside and the Buffalo flavor didn't burn my taste buds. My hubs ordered jambalaya and said it was the best he's ever had. Then they pulled out the stops and sent the most amazing homemade desserts I've had in a very long time. It was obvious everything was made from scratch and we believe the chef took a lot of pride and care for his food. It's a bit of a ride from our house, but we will be going back, often! read more
