Here is the thing, when a place makes each pizza and fresh made dough that puts an emphasis on the hole experience , then this is the place. Don't go out to try a place that is pure, clean, rustic, and fresh and expect your dominoes and Sam Adams. I digress.... Poor taste will give you a poor experience just saying. Now, as a former chef the ingredients here are fresh and each pizza is cooked to order. Don't expect it to be cardboard flavor or burnt. Additionally the crew there want to be sure you always have a good experience and address any concerns quickly. Take it from a person that is extremely picky about beer and pizza. Came down to LBC from LA and was reminded of how kind people can be. The bartender, the line cooks, the chef, and the manager all visited my table despite the place being packed for an NFL Sunday. Came here the first time this past Wed. Needed a halfway meeting point to meet with a friend and I just randomly picked this from my list of places to want to check out in LB. You know when you walk into a new beer place and it takes a second to catch a vibe? Or....you just don't and there's not a pull to bring you back right away? Not this place - Vibe is immediately friendly and welcoming and this is key. It's what brings me back and makes me bring my friends. This place is sooo chill and comfortable and I can totally see it as my "neighborhood" bar. Not only that but they have a good beer list and they have FOOD. Good beer. Good food. When I look at a menu and I want to eat everything it's a good thing. They had Knee Deep that day (Space Potatoes) and I also had a gose. You can also (and I didn't know this prior) brew your own beer here! The deal they have is reasonable and really cool - once bottled, they will hold it for you in the proper temp until ready to drink! I liked it so much I came back this past Friday with a different friend and this time, even as busy as it was, they immediately acknowledged us, figured out a way to get us some seating and were so warm and wonderful. I've ordered four pizzas in the past from Dutch's and they were all delicious!!!!! However, when I ordered my pizza earlier today the rim of the pepperoni and parts of the crust were charred/black/crunchy like a potato chip/burned. I assumed maybe it was left in the oven a tad too long which clearly could have been a mistake, and I didn't enjoy the burnt flavor so I asked the employee if they could make another one that wasn't so burnt. To my surprise the employee informed me that's how their pizzas are made. Thankfully the pizza was removed from the bill after I attempted to eat one slice. I got lucky with the first four pizzas in the past because they were not crunchy or black and didn't have a burned flavor. Therefore, I just want to give a heads up that if you don't want to chew toasty black pieces of crust and pepperoni you may want to request that they not be so charred since that's how they're regularly made. read more

The service is extremely fast, but if they are busy they will acknowledge you within a few minutes of standing (next to the bar). Vibe: This place is more of a neighborhood hang out mixed in with some visitors from outlaying places in long beach. Very divey with super nice staff and good pizza. I get tired of the same old ingredients, but they offer a variety of interesting meats, like speck, which I'd never had. The ghost pepper pizza with blackened garlic was pretty darn tasty. Spicy with a hint of sweetness. Max was awesome and chatted with us about different combinations of pizza toppings. The inside of the crust is moist, poofy, and incredibly soft so that it almost melts on your tongue after biting through the thin layer of crispiness. I would even say it is one of the best pizza's I ate in the US. They have great alternatives if you don't drink beer or alcohol, Ginger or Raspberry Root Beer.
