We had so much fun here! Came in and they were in the process of boiling up some beer and the whole place smelled of hops and wort. They make amazing pizzas! We had one with veggies and arugula and it was mouth wateringly good. It's a small dining area but they weren't too busy so we got to sit right down. My wife LOVED their caesar salad and dressing . It actually tastes like anchovies. We also had pretzel bites and cheese. They have a solid selection of beers on tap and we got a few really good IPAs. The staff was friendly and funny. We were suggested this place by a couple we met at ambitious ales who swears by their pizza,and they couldn't have been more right! My wife wants to go back just for the Caesar salad. Another great addition to California Heights! My wife and I went on a Tuesday for dinner. We shared a Caesar salad and a #1 pizza. The salad was very good, with the unusual but tasty use of kale instead of romaine. The thin crust pizza was equally good too. We kept it simple with tomato sauce, basil, garlic, and Parmesan cheese. As for beers, I had a good Hanger 24 IPA and my wife had an excellent dubbel. The owner said that he is about to start brewing his own, so that should be interesting too. Oh! And the dessert was excellent. We had a chocolate mole cherry tamale with a scoop of ice cream. So good! The owner and the cook were both friendly and nice. I like the thin-crust style pizza with a bit of char...and that's exactly what they serve at Dutch's Brewhouse. We ordered the Pervy Pep (pepperoni pizza) and man was this thing loaded with pepperoni (the good quality kind too)! Gooey cheese, and a nice crunch on the crust! My wife's only complaint was the pizza was a bit too greasy (but what pizza isn't greasy). It was the perfect size for us to share and feel satisified, but if we got some beers, i'd probably get a Frito pie on the side. Great pizza, and even better service! Dutch's Brewhouse has some very great pizza. It tastes very natural and handmade with great quality and flavor. It's very local to where I'm at so if I get pizza I probably will go back there again. Pizza, for me is like a rare treat but when I do get it, I love pizza that tastes like this. I don't really know much about the brewery part but I would assume that's good too based on my pizza experience. I'm so glad they are only blocks away. Okay, so I have to preface, I'm a pure blooded Texan on both sides, meaning I have roots to the republic of Texas from my maw and paw. I call San Antone home, big red water and Beto for president (of tx) (Feel free to message me if you want a lesson on Texas history, my wife is tired of me talking about it.) So my Texas pride is going to bias this review a lot as this is the owner is a Texan and beer and food reflect the lone star state. Stop in for a shiner bock and frito pie, fine by me! However, it's not just the Texas spirit that has me singing the praises of this place, it's the customer service. These guys were so helpful, cool and laid back. The main guy tending bar bent over backwards to help us with our baby. In fact everyone in this place, guests and servers a like seem to be so friendly and nice. I have come here 3 times. 1st time 5/5 but, last night was 3. I ordered the Spicoli which I've loved. It came out burnt ... not the good kind either. So I ordered some ranch and they charge extra. I hope Jason the owner reads this and changes that. Charging for ranch is just ridiculous when you own a pizza joint. Especially when I'm spending $100 at your place. FANTASTIC FOR GROUP EVENTS! We had about 30-40 people come for an educational workshop and region wide celebration we did our firm. Jason and his group taught us about the beer making process and helped us make our own brew every step of the way. We had a fun time. We all had something to do but it was stress-free. We were able to socialize and eat a ton. Food was delicious. I highly recommend this place. After the event, we were able to make a label and bottle it with Jason's help. We made two different beers! Never heard of the place before until I was invited for a buddies bday. Venue - It's located on the main busy st of Long Beach Blvd, cool little cozy place with that old school pizza shop feel. Staff - Place seems a bit understaffed and forgetful with orders here, but other than that chill people. Food - They have many pizza options and everything here taste delicious with a good size and price to it. Beer & Wine - Good selection of beers and wine here. Parking - It can be challenging during peak hours. I would come back again but would hope service got a bit better. read more

The beers tasty, the owner is fantastic, and the food was good too! If you're here on a Tuessday, be sure to check out their mushroom tacos (HELL YEAH), but any other day, definitely go for a pizza! I've been told by several people to come check out Dutch's. After putting it off for nearly a year, I could totally kick myself in the rear for not coming sooner. Dutch's is a small Brewhouse in Bixby Knolls, that is family friendly. Seems like a local hangout with frequent regulars. They offer a fair selection of various beers from local breweries, and occasionally have a home brew on tap. Food menu is small, but SOLID. I ordered the Dirty Bird Pizza. Whoa, baby! Just, order me 5. This is a medium sized pizza, that could easily be shared as a small appetizer between 2-3 people. (Safely, 2- cause, well, pizza) Food & drinks are fairly priced. Was watching the news this morning (KTLA) and they did a segment on the top breweries in SoCal and Dutch's Brewhouse in LB was on the list. I wondered, "How did I not know about this place??" Coincidentally, I was craving pizza so I went online to check out their menu. Their pizzas or "zza", I should say, have interesting flavor combinations and it was hard to pick just one. I ordered the Speck N Zaa Dutch and That One pizza and pretzel bites. After completing my online order, I goofed up on the pickup time and I called Dutch's to let them know and the gal who answered the phone was able to fix it for me. She said my order would be ready in 15 mins. Awesome! I arrived and the gal behind the counter greeted me warmly and without even telling her, she knew my name and that I was picking up my online order. She immediately went to the back and brought out my pizzas. Great service!! My husband really liked That One pizza because he loves spinach and garlic. He said it was flavorful. I loved the pizza I chose which was the Speck N Zaa because I love the arugula, lemon and Parmesan cheese combination. The lemon kinda balances out the peppery flavor of the arugula. 5 stars for their service, convenient online ordering system and of course, their food! We would definitely come back but to dine in this time so we can try out their other pizzas and their beer. read more

Came in looking for a pizza and some beers that I could enjoy solo at the bar. The vibe is almost divey which I typically like. When I entered, it was busy, and I couldn't see any open seats. I just stood at the front door for like 5 - 10 minutes before a drunk employee, who made it very clear was not on the clock, came over to try to help. I explained my situation and had no idea what to do. Finally suggested I sit alone at a table outside. Okay, fine.. I went to order beer, and the first one I tried tasted like feet. That was understandable because it was a "farmhouse saisson" but from experience those typically have a fruity almost sour taste. This tasted like someone washed their feet in it, in a well used but not so well cleaned farmhouse. Okay, my mistake. So I went with the IPA. It was fine. Halfway through my lonely and boring meal someone stepped outside and just bellowed "AYGHYY!!!!!" out of no where directly in my face. After nearly spilling my bear, I realized he was trying to yell down a passerby. This was the owner. After running down some dude on the street he came by and asked how everything was. I lied, and said good. The pizza was okay, nothing to write home about. If the pizza were any worse this would be a 2 star rating. Really sucked because I was looking forward to enjoying their pizza and beer at the bar, as they previously got great reviews. Although the server "really hoped" I would return, I don't think that's in the cards. I will eventually find a good pizza spot in LB, it just sadly isn't here. read more

The best example of the total package: great service, good people, yummy food, decent beers! This place is cozy, especially on a Saturday or Friday Night when it can become a little more busy but still, my boyfriend and I were able to find a table. We actually found a small table and began to sit down when the owner (I think he was the owner- he was working behind the bar at the time) told us there was a larger table in the back that we could sit at, and it would be more comfortable. Right away, I thought that was very thoughtful that he was trying to take care of us as soon as we walked through the door. He came by, dropped off some menus, told us what the faves were, and came back just a few moments later to take our order. We ordered 2 beers and some pretzel bites and everything was great! The pretzel bites were soft and delicious with a side of cheese and spicy mustard. And the beers on tap here were also pretty good. I really appreciate when these smaller breweries have a variety of beers, and this place did! They had some blonde ales, some IPAs, and some stouts. Not sure how often they change it up, but at least there's something I'm sure everyone can enjoy. I really enjoyed the music they were playing too. All classic rock was covered between Rolling Stones, Led Zep, AC/DC, Queen, etc. There's nothing better than enjoying a good beer and hearing kickass music. I even saw a variety of people here; older crowds, younger crowds, everyone was here enjoying themselves. Definitely come here and enjoy a beer with some friends, you won't regret! read more

I'm loving this semi new neighborhood place! Its a great place to relax and have a beer. I work close so it's a great place to come unwind after a long tiring day with a coworker or two. The selection of beer is pretty ample and there is always something for everyone. I'm vegan, so I can't try the food but have heard great things about the pizza. Trying to explore more of the Bixby area and had been wanting to try this place for a while. We came by around 5 on a Friday hoping to beat some of the crowds but the place was already packed and there was no place to sit.
