    Nashville hot

We walked in tonight and said hello to this younger man in the back. He didn't really say anything to us, just looked and went back to dealing with the deep fryer. Ok... maybe he's busy, we can wait. But he never says anything and it's up to this nice older lady who finished cleaning the bathroom to take our order. She was great, very friendly and informative. The restaurant was very clean and so was the freshly cleaned bathroom. I got the Nashville Hot and my friend got the Country Bird combo. It was so crispy and fresh! I could have used more sauce on my sandwich, and the chicken itself seemed to lack the flavor it had in the past. A tad disappointed. The seasoned fries were good. In terms of food it's more like 3.5 stars, but the great service from that kind older lady bummed it up to 4.

Egg N Bird gives a free order of fries if you check in and have an order that is at least $5. A sandwich - that is decently sized- costs $8.99 so you should easily qualify. This location is on the way to the Citadel outlets but wasn't too crowded. There is ample parking in the small plaza. I ordered the Nashville Hot sandwich with a mild spice level - I probably should've done medium but there was enough spice to enjoy. This chicken was juicy and you can also eat it with some honey. They also give you some sauce on the side just in case. The service was good and quick. This is a causal restaurant with a fast food like ambiance. Many people order for pick up. I wasn't aware it was a chain so was pleasantly surprised. They had new rice bowls that I wanted to come back and try. Definitely recommend if you are in the area!

This was mine and my grandmothers first time trying this place and we will definitely be back. It's pretty small inside but luckily for us everyone was ordering to go and there was plenty of open seating for us sit and dine in. The young lady at the register Thalia was super friendly and helpful with explaining items on the menu and recommending some of their most popular dishes. There was also another young man who I had a brief interaction with, sadly I did not get his name but he provided excellent customer service as well! He also gave us a free sample of the banana pudding which was really good. We ended up ordering the Korean bowl and the dirty fries. OH EM GEE they were so delicious and flavorful! Definitely recommend these two options! I cannot wait to come and try out different items on the menu. If you're in the area I highly recommend stoping buy to grab a bite! Keep up the exquisite customer service and fabulous flavors!

Dude I've been here before and know the food is good but this guy at the front had the dullest attitude, was not friendly whatsoever, he looked like he just broke up with his girlfriend... I asking him for his recommendations and he didn't say anything and ignored my question and then I was not allowed to pick at least 2 sauces for my 4 chicken tenders... I could have ordered 2 of different sauces and he wouldn't let me?! So rude.., I wanted to cancel my order in fear that he might do something but I watched him make the food with the other guy in the back... I don't fully recommend to come here bc of that, made us all in here and this whole environment feel uncomfortable which sucks bc the food is worth a try.... If you do go, hopefully cracked-egg face won't be there and you'll have a better experience.

Finally happy to eat here! I wanted to get one with an egg on but as soon as i saw the buff bird with creamy buffalo sauce i was hooked. It was SOOO good!! And very hot, came out fast. The fries were good too. I like the crack sauce; another reviewer said it was a little sweet and i can see that too but it didn't take away from the flavor. Its nice inside...could be a little cleaner but overall good. Guy behind the counter was VERY nice and friendly, helpful and recommending items. Best service ive ever had at a fast food place that wasnt chik fil a. Definitely want to come back!!

    The Korean Bowl

My favorite item on the menu is definitely the Korean Bowl!!!! The food is amazing but definitely order online and be prepared to wait since most of the time this place takes a while to bring your food out since there's only one person in the kitchen and one person on the register. I personally don't like to eat here because of how bright it is inside but I enjoy taking out.

First time checking this place out having driven by in the past, glad we did. Plenty of parking in the plaza and very spacious inside. Love the vibrant colors and simplistic interior. Service from Leo was great, let him know it was our first time and he took the time to explain each of the menus, breakfast, bowls and sandwich meals. Definitely above and beyond service. Thanks leo! We went with bowls, Nashville and Korean which were made with love and it showed! Presentation is lovely and flavorful. I went with the spicy Nashville which was spicy but definitely good! Korean was sweet which was amazing as well. Leo was kind enough to sample us a banana pudding and was delicious. I'll be sure to send my friends this way to try out this hidden (to me) gem! Will be back in the future to try out the rest of the menu.

Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and fries

I found this place through the Yelp Elite event a few months ago. I thoroughly enjoyed the event and decided to go back to get more of their chicken sandwiches. Parking: They have a big parking lot that they share with other stores around the area, and it's also free. Recommended items: My favorite is their Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. They have different levels- mild, medium, hot, and extra hot. I would recommend the extra hot for anyone who loves spicy food- it's not too spicy and had just enough kick to the taste. One of my favorite things about the chicken sandwich is the crispiness of the chicken! I've tried several hot chicken sandwiches and the outer parts of the chicken tend to be on the soggier/less crunchy side. In addition, I also really like their fries! It stays crispy for quite a long time, and it's closer to the shoestring side, which I prefer. Service and Price: The service has always been consistent, fast, and very friendly. The price is also very reasonable, especially with the amount of food that you get. I highly recommend checking this place out for chicken sandwich lovers!

Nashville Hot Sandwich combo with Fries
    Jason L.

New spot in Pico Rivera specializing in all things fried chicken. I got the Nashville hot sandwich combo which comes with fries and a drink. The menu could describe what goes into a combo a little better. I was left asking the cashier my options instead of being able to see that myself on the menu. The sandwich itself was really messy (oily). It's basically two pieces of chicken combined into a sandwich and it can get really messy, quick. The chicken itself was crispy and I enjoyed the crack sauce. We also got an order of one of the bowls but they didn't have ANY utensils. They didn't tell me they didn't have any forks/knives/spoons until after we received our food. That bugged me because how are we then supposed to eat our food? The staff did not do anything other than say "we are out of utensils." Shouldn't you do more to find utensils for your customers? We had to walk over to another restaurant in the plaza to ask for forks... Or maybe the staff should've said something to us when we ordered "FOR HERE" and knew we got bowls that required utensils... That might've changed our ordering decision. Pretty disappointed with the service and lack of professionalism from the staff here.

Nashville Hot Sandwich (hottest) not too spicy
    Leslie H.

Customer service, ambiance, and food were 5/5! Super friendly staff that labeled our sauces for us and came over to check on how we were doing/ give us more napkins. Definitely get the cilantro aioli, its so good. Nashville hot sandwich - I'm usually a person that stays away from spice but the worker said go get the hottest spice level and it wasn't too spicy for me. It was perfect! The chicken was so crisp on the outside yet so juicy on the inside. The fries were good too, and it came with so many! My Friends got the banh mi sandwich and elote fries and the both devoured their meals. Both were delicious as well.

This is hands down the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. They were very helpful when it came to recommendations and so glad I asked what to order because they steered me right. 10/10 would eat many more times. Thank you!

FC Banh Mi Sandwich, Nashville Hot Sandwich, Dirty Fries & Fountain Soda everything was amazing!

Looking for a Nashville chicken sandwich my Boyfriend and I found "Egg N Bird" on yelp! The sandwiches looked delicious on the pictures so we decided to give it a try! As soon as we walked in we were greeted and welcomed by Damian! Being new to the place he offered a few suggestions. I tried the "FC BANH MI" as I don't eat too much spice. It was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend had the "Nashville Hot" and man did he love it. We also tried the Dirty fries which were absolutely delicious too! The ambience was nice, clean and good parking. We will definitely be coming back!

    Korean Hot Sandwich
    Jessika T.

Was not disappointed. Surprised this place was empty. Young man that helped us was friendly and kind as it was our first time. Service exceeded expectations for fast food. Many options to choose from. Korean hot sandwich combo (comes w/ drink + fries) & egg n bird sandwich $35. A little pricy but portions are generous. Chicken is spot on...Can't wait to come back again soon and try more of the menu!

Once we were ready she had our table already prepared. We have to order inside first before you can be seated. Once seated our food came out not too long after. Everything looked and tasted delicious! We ordered the chilaquiles verde, short rib omelette, tropical pancakes (seasonal), and the mango curd french toast (seasonal). The chilaquiles verde was savory and tangy. It wasn't soggy at all and definitely one of my favorite dishes. The short rib omelette was savory but didn't give me any wow factor compared to the other dishes I ordered. The tropical pancakes were so pretty. I only tried a piece of it without the syrup which I think was a mistake because the kumquat syrup was my friend's favorite. I definitely need to try it again with the syrup. Best for last, mango curd French toast was my favorite! I fell in love with sweetness and tanginess of the mango curd. The French toast was soft and you can taste the butter. I wish it was a main menu item. I'll definitely be sad to see it go. They have lots of seating inside and outside.

I was curious about the level of accessibility and clearer directions on where to stand when the line passes the framing of the restaurant. But Great Downey location! Diversity score 1-5: 1.5 As a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the workplace professional, in order to garner financial success of any business is to be intentional about representation in your business. Please contact me for consultation services. Service/Ambiance/Environment: The service is where my issue lies. I did appreciate that as we were waiting in line to enter, we were given menus to assist in deciding what we wanted before we reached the inside. The cashiers were both super nice and even offered a taste of the Rose' slushy which was phenomenal. When ordering at the register, the sweet service was continued and we chose where to sit. It was bright and busy inside and we sat right in front of the expo station. I was truly enjoying the environment and it had me reminiscing of my brunch days in New York City. My guest and I were chatting and enjoying our Mimosa's and then my guests food arrives first. Not that it matters but in service certain things do and the female presenting person SHOULD always receive their food first. That was a surprise to me but I didn't read into as I expected my dish to arrive right behind. It did not. My guest and I continued to chat and sip until 20 mins later, as I'm watching dishes leave the expo station, did I say "where is my food?" The young server at the expo turned and rolled their eyes and then finally gave me my food. This was a buzz kill. I only went down a rabbit hole about it until I noticed I was the only Black person present. First, why would it ever been ok to not have dishes arriving to tables separately without saying "ma'am we're a little behind.." or to my guest "do you mind if we hold your dish a bit so we can make sure the food arrives together?" Being a previous server in high pace restaurants, communication, apologies, and ensuring perfect service is the goal. Poached is not a store front or even a little diner type of place. It's a casual, upbeat, bright breakfast/brunch spot. And yes, on busy days things happen but to not offer a reason, or apology, and giving the customer attitude is unacceptable. Food: The description of the food is well written. The prices are reasonable. I ordered the short rib omelette with whole grain toast and house potatoes. When I Finally received my food it looked great and I was eager to dig in. A first bite of the omelette I was sadly underwhelmed. The seasoning left much to be desired and it seamed to be more of a birria short rib flavor and I thought I chose the dish based on being excited about the combination of meat and cheese (which was barely there). I enjoyed the bread and potatoes more than the omelette. Go again score 1-5: 2 I really think this restaurant and it's operation needs some massaging, the cooks need to be trained, and a REAL chef needs to help improve the quality and taste of the food.

Although there is parking in the front, it's very limited. We later found there is much more convenient parking in the back, which I definitely recommend using. As soon as you walk in, you can tell it's a family-owned, mom-and-pop restaurant. Even though the dining area is small, it feels warm, welcoming, and comfortable. It also seems to be a favorite among the locals, which is always a good sign. The service was excellent. The staff frequently checked on us, kept our water glasses full, and happily accommodated my fiancée's special request for her meal. The food was fantastic. My fiancée ordered the Wet Burrito without the cheese on top. It came with chips, and even though they were in the sauce, they somehow stayed crispy throughout the meal. She loved every bite. I ordered the chicken and waffles with whipped cream and strawberries. The chicken was fried to perfection--crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and well-seasoned throughout without being overly breaded. The waffles were delicious and paired perfectly with the toppings. We also shared a biscuit with gravy. The biscuit was soft, fluffy, and moist enough that it honestly didn't even need the gravy. That said, the gravy was rich, flavorful, and not overly salty, making it a great complement. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. The food, service, and atmosphere all exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend giving this place a try--and don't forget to park in the back!

It's like a small hole in a wall or a small diner with some home made food. I absolutely loved it. Prices are great, servings are great! Parking is limited but I noticed also available in the back.

This place was AWFUL my Mexican friends!!!! First, the entire staff is South American which for…read morestarters loses OUR genuine Mexican hospitality which most Mexican restaurants offer. We were a party of over 40 who paid a significant amount of money and we had to ask for water, WATER numerous times. We were told we'd have two dedicated staff members and I mostly saw one the entire time making the experience truly unacceptable. The churro appetizers were stale and rubbery, while the food was OK the service was absolutely terrible. The Restaurant seems to be open to families but the manner in which the female waitresses dress, especially the hostesses, it seems inappropriate for young children. Most importantly, image is supreme over customer service and restaurants need great customer service to survive. The waitresses failed to offer genuine, courteous customer service because they're too snobby or concerned about self image that they don't smile or engage with the Mexican culture/race!!!! And get this....they truly DONT KNOW OUR FOOD, they got lost trying to explain the dish...come on owner don't you need clientele to survive?!? I gave this place TWO TRIES, unless the staff matches the a Mexican restaurant's true hospitable VIBE, NEVER coming back!! AND SADLY WORD gets around. You have a business to run, yet your meeting staff race quotas over true customer service!! P.s. many comments are stating service to be an issue...I noticed the only staff member that showed courtesy and had genuine hospitality was your plate server who had no accent!! That is true genuine Mexican hospitality! Get it together. Your place is as confused as if you were running a sushi restaurant with an Italian staff, it doesn't work, it doesn't match!!!
