Never thought I would leave a yelp review.. Me and my family always cater here for every holiday. Last Tuesday we drove far just for them to be closed when the sign said open & we weren't the only ones there. Gas is not cheap, tf. Today 10/8 I ordered I door-dashed two chicken enchiladas plate with no beans. They gave me two cheese enchiladas. I know you're probably thinking like girl what the heck does it matter? Well yeah it do LMAO. I been eating here for 4 years and I get the same shit every time. Of course I don't get my money back, whatever. I order another one & ofc they get my shit wrong again LMAO. I was not given my horchatas and I forgot to ask because of a little incident with a transient that walked in to order something. Got side tracked and forgot. Anywho, tacos didnt have very much flavor. I ordered: Asada- dry, slight overcooked. Al pastor- okay. Nothing special Barbacoa- dry. Needed salt Shredded chicken- probably the better tasting if I had to choose one. The salsa was not spicy at all and did not make a difference on the tacos. Doesn't look good nor open to say the least but you will be back that's for sure. If you are looking for home made cocido or that Authentic breakfast burrito this is the place. Their cosido is fresh made with fresh veggies and the meat is to dye for. The caldo de res is the bomb the meat is so good , flavored tender to the bite. When you bite the meat or tear it apart it just so tender that you forget your eating meet. Walking the block to the place and stepping inside, it's a no-frills type of place, with a counter and menu board that looks like it would be more at home as a concession stand at your local county fair. But I'm not here to redecorate, I'm here to eat. Deciding to keep it semi-healthy, I opted for the Chicken Caesar Salad that others have yelped about. And caving in to my dark side, I also got an order of chicken nachos, to split and/or take home. I've been coming here for at least eight years now. My relationship with this restaurant started after I used to leave my clothes drying at a nearby Laundromat. I was in search of something nearby where I could still run back and check on my clothes. The clientele here is usually made up of county workers and Norwalk Unified School District employees. Blue collar people that really appreciate a good meal. I come here for the tortas. It appears to be family run. They are very efficient at what they do. They've become experts at multitasking. Pay attention to the person taking your order and you'll see them writing down a phone order. take out seems to be a good choice for people here. I dine in and enjoy my meal. The food is fresh. They offer you chips and salsa while you wait for your order. One thing I've yet to figure out is how they can distinguish my order from the rest of the clients. They don't give you a number to place on top of your table as reference. they always bring me my correct order. The burritos are also quite good. I can honestly say that every meal I've had here is excellent. The only thing that holds me back from scoring it a five is the restrooms are inconsistently clean. This is a pretty legit hole in the wall. Lots of Mexican families to me means that the food is good. The workers seemed to know the people coming in and they were friendly. Old school setup but relatively clean (okay not really but it wasn't enough to turn me away) I think it was just needing a face lift.. but it fit the surrounding community. Ordered the following: + Wet carne asada burrito: pretty tasty. Lots of cheese and sauce. Plenty of guts that were moist and tasty. + Chicken Taco: Sooo moist and delicious. Probably one of the best chicken tacos I've had in a long while. + Carnitas Taco: Delicious! You could definitely tell they put some effort in slow cooking the pork to perfection. If you get to-go, they still give you a good helping of chips and salsa. They had really yummy salsa too! Delicious with great service and price. Like most restaurants, it's the hole in the walls that are the best places to eat and this place is one of my faves! Their food is authentic mexican food that feels like your familia made it [well if I had any family members who are mexican :( lol]. But I definitely feel the love from the food that family dishes have. I usually get the 3 tacos plate that comes with rice and beans. Usually get carne asada and TRIPAS. The plate comes with a big scoop of guacamole, and the staples: fluffy red rice, refried beans topped with cheese, tortillas, and tortilla chips. It's all about the asada though- simple, traditional, cooked carefully and always fresh. Not one disappointing chewy or overwell done bite and the carcinogenic char ratio on the meat is just right and everywhere it needs to be for the perfect bite. The ambiance is like a any one star restaurant you may have encounter. Filthy..not really. Clean...ai ya. Service...well you ordered at the counter, you paid at the register, and they call your number for the food. Nothing really special about that. Their burritos and enchiladas are to die for. If the food disagree with you, it's worse than going to Albertaco. It's a real big time hit and miss with this place because they do serve the food really cheap, but some of the menu items are either delicious or just plain nasty. So far, I have gotten the tips from certain pals of my bosses in what to order. We stick it by the easy choices of a normal beef burritos. The big plus to this place was the chips that comes with the meals are good. The soup are not bad at all either. Oh, there's a beef I have with them. The refills in drinks are not free. I believe you can refill it for 50 cents or 75 cents. I can understand for the to-go orders, but not for dine in. There's about a likely hood that I enjoyed the horchitas, and then to find out that I have to pay for the refill before my order was ready. That happened to me before and it blows. Was in the neighborhood last week and was having a serious taco craving. I pulled up my trusty Yelp App on my phone and scanned nearby for taco joints. Taco Rico seemed to have decent reviews so i mapped out the directions and was on my way. Taco Rico is in a strip mall and you can miss it if you aren't paying attention (like me). So after passing it and making a u-turn i found it and was inside. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. I ordered 4 tacos and a large Horchata. After placing my order i was able to snag a table. It was pretty busy since it was lunch time and the place was getting crowded. While waiting for my food the waitress brought me over some chips and salsa, which were good. 5 minutes later my tacos arrived and boy were they good. I got 2 carnitas, 1 pastor, 1 asada. The carnitas were my definite favorite, with the pastor coming in 2nd and the asada last. Great service, great food, and a nice atmosphere. Everyone was so friendly it made you feel as if you were in your grandma's kitchen. Next time I am out there i will be sure to stop in. read more

I was working in the area today and my colleague invited me to lunch. The words "Free" and "lunch" together are always awesome. He was craving Mexican food so we decided to check the place out. The place is a small hole in the wall located in a small shopping center, they have a B rating which means it's a little dirty in the kitchen but we decided to eat there anyway. My colleague got a torta with carne asada and it was served with pickled jalapeños on the side. I ordered two sopes de asada, the sopes are huge!! I only ate one and got the other one to go. They topped them with lots of lettuce, mexican crema and fresh cheese. It was a good! a little think for my liking but I would eat one again if I'm in the area. I wouldn't drive just for it.
