I have had quite the issue with my upstairs A/C the past 6 months or so. Let me explain. Our home was built in 1996 in Missouri City, Texas. Because we live in the south, A/C is a big priority. We signed up with Cinch Warranty Services because we knew that the Units that came with the house were a bit aged. However, they worked perfectly until late last November 2024. We had an evaporator go bad in the unit in our attic. So, Through Cinch, our warranty company dispatched a SEARS tech out to our home. The sears guy, was unfriendly, and almost condescending once he found out that our A/C unit was an older Unit. We have a 2-story home. It was the upstairs A/C Unit giving us problems. He was supposed to have checked out the unit for upstairs. He could not find a problem. The reason, he didn't check anything or he checked the incorrect unit. He told me, he couldn't find a problem, even though he most certainly could have felt how hot it was upstairs. It was 93°F in my upstairs office. So, he packed his tools and left. I contacted Cinch a second time to complain that nothing was fixed. So, that is when Elite Heating and Air was contracted to come out and look into the issue. Travis came out, and found that the evaporator had a huge leak and there was no freon in the system. When I found this out, I was ripped. We had to pay out of pocket for for a new evaporator, because the older unit required a special one due to a switch to a new type of freon. I was ok with that. Elite came out, and replaced the unit, charged the system and we once again had A/C. Of course this all happened in November, so when December arrived we no longer required the use of the A/C. That was until Mid-March, when we started getting warmer weather. The temps in my office upstairs once again, climbed into the upper 80's and lower 90's. So, once again I contacted Cinch Warranty Services, and once again they sent the very arrogant SEARS tech out to our home again. When he arrived, his attitude had not changed. Basically, he told me that because his paperwork stated that it was the downstairs unit having trouble he wasn't going to look at the upstair unit after I told him the problem was the upstairs unit. He did go upstairs to look at the unit, but he came back down as quickly as he went up. I asked him where we stood. His reply, "I'm Leaving, the upstairs unit will not be fixed." I asked him why not, his reply, "My paperwork said it was the downstairs Unit." Even as he wiped the sweat off of his forehead because there WAS NOT A/C Working Upstairs!!!! As he left, he made the off-the-cuff remark, "When that downstairs unit goes out, give us a call.". I told him, "Not on your life." He's lucky at that Point, I didn't THROW him out of my home! I called Cinch back, and told them what happened, and Cinch stated it didn't matter what the paperwork stated, or how many A/C units we had, they should have started repairs or what I told them was bad. So, next they sent out EMS Home Services to have a look. The guy from EMS could not access the freon lines, because they had locks on them that he didn't have a key for??? Three times he came out here and didn't have the correct key. He finally got the correct key, tested the system he advised that the system didn't have any freon in it. He also said there was a huge leak in the system but he couldn't find the source of the leak. He did a line isolation, to try and find it, which caused the compressor to seize up, and basically destroyed the unit. Once again I contacted Cinch, and they assigned my case to a case manager who took over the coordination of finding a reputable company to fix this now damaged unit. They got in touch with Tim and Travis at Elite Heating and Air, and Travis came out, looked at the system, ran some tests and that is when they found that the Compressor was bad and needed to be replaced. Long-Story Short, Tim and Travis at Elite took control, worked with Cinch and they replaced the outside compressor with a GOODMAN A/C unit in about 3 days time. We now have A/C upstairs, and Elite will be the only company that I'll ever endorse and recommend to anyone. They are great to work with, they understood our A/C needs, and worked with both US and our Home Warranty folks to get my unit fixed. It use to be that SEARS set the standard for their products and Services. Now, as far as I'm concerned they are the pits. They are arrogant and seem to only want to throw parts and waste time in fixing stuff, and then walk away when they don't know how to fix or work with a customer to solve a problem. It was a HUGE difference in how we were treated by Elite. They cared enough to see the problem through, and work with us in solving a problem. Thank you Tim and Travis!!! I wanted to make sure I came here to share my truly positive experience with Elite AC & Heat. It never fails; I discovered my thermostat was completely dead late on Friday night. After troubleshooting on my own I knew it was something beyond my skills, so I put in a work order with my warranty company. I thought I would have to wait and deal with the issue in the next week, but a nice lady from Elite called me early Saturday morning to ask if they could come out that day and I was elated! I did not expect to hear from anyone until Monday and I was so glad it wouldn't drag out and necessitate me having to take time off of work. Travis with Elite arrived a few hours later, he listened to me explain the issue and did his own troubleshooting and soon found the problem. He didn't stop there; he did a thorough inspection to make sure there were no underlying issues. I mention this because this did not occurred with another provider and it then prompted them to come out several times before the issue was resolved, not the case with Elite. Quite frankly, Travis was just awesome, he explained what he did, showed me (because I never pass up an opportunity to learn) and you could tell he took pride in his work. You don't see that very often in this day and age. I will add that even without the warranty, if I ever have a need for an HVAC company Elite will be at the top of my list. I also called Elite to share my positive experience and spoke with his dad who can be credited with instilling that sense of work pride in his son. I had a second experience with this company today rude owner Told me to take my business somewhere else. Well guess what you rude person. . I will take my business somewhere else. I also complained to our warranty compamy and they will deal with your attitude. I can't believe you are still in business I've never had someone talk to me that way.. you will never get my business. I too called my home warranty company as my a/c wasn't working. They told me my condenser coil froze up due to low freon from a freon leak. This repair was covered under my warranty but they tacked on an additional $850.00 in charges for so called modifications after they finished the job 2 of my a/c vents were not pumping out any air. This was a clear replacement of the condenser that should have been covered by warranty but they tacked on a bunch of extra charges. This guy is rude and dishonest. I called another repair man and he fixed my problem for $83.00. All you people do is rip people off. Please all you potential customers look at the google and Angie's list reviews almost all negative. read more

Asked for someone to come out and provide estimate for a new AC system. The guy Ruhul came in my home, asked me what size unit I had. He never went outside to check outside unit and never went in the attic to check anything. I explained that I think it was a 3 ton unit, he immediately stated that it will cost about &12,000. I asked was he going to check anything he said he know the price based on the ton. he stated that the furnace condenser would be replaced. I asked for a written estimate of everything that would be replaced,(like fan, coils, valves etc.) he refused to provided one and showed me a diagram as if I know what everything was. We went back and forth multiple times asking for a written estimate. He finally stated I could take a picture if the diagram and he named the parts. I asked again to provide a written estimate. He finally said no, because if he provides one, he doesn't want me shopping around with the estimate he will provide. The customer service was not good and the nerve of anyone trying to determine how I will shop around. I thought he would inspect and provide a written estimate. There is no way I would commit to a $12,000 job with no written estimate detailing everything I needed. If that's the case he could have told me that over the phone. By the way, the other 4 companies I called, inspected everything, explained and educated me on whats needed and how it works, and Boom, provided written estimates of "EVERY" part that was to be replaced. I called the company to explain, the lady that answered stated she would inform owner and I should be able to receive a written estimate. Don't know if this is the company standards or if the rep they sent out is providing bad customer service. read more

JOKE OF A COMPANY! I was given Elite's info by my home warranty company. Like most people, I didn't really care who fixed my ac, as long as it was covered under my warranty. Elite called quickly, and scheduled me for their next opening the following day (seemed great!). Their service window is extremely long - 7am to 12pm, but I agreed and took off the next morning from work. So I waited....and waited... no calls, no emails, nothing. I called them at 11:50 to ask for an update. "Oh we aren't going to make it today", Really?! I understand "things come up" at jobs before mine. I understand that I am no more important than the people before me. What I don't understand is why Elite couldn't have called and informed me! The job that help the worker up didn't start at 11:50am, Elite just didn't care that I was sitting around waiting.... Do yourself a favor and find a company that cares about their clients. read more

Called my warranty company on a Sunday, they dispatched my call to Elite and I received a cal back within 30 mins......the tech, Travis, was out within the hour!!! Diagnosed and showed me the problem. He had the 2 parts needed on the truck. Fixed it in a very timely manner. Extremely personable and did an excellent job!! read more

Came out the first time, I thought everything was working, but after they left I noticed the downstairs AC would not turn on. I called them, they immediately denied any responsibility. After I was on the phone with them for 15-20 minutes, and climbing into the attic to fix the problem, it turned out they had flipped a switch. A little later I had to call again because the upstairs AC wasn't cooling. It turns out this was my fault, I had flipped another switch when I was trying to fix the initial problem. After it was fixed I told them I had called the company that handles my warranty and was told I would not be charged another service fee. Elite AC attempted to call the warranty company, but was put on hold. During this time I received a phone call, and while I was on the phone they walked out and drove away without saying anything to me. They did find the problem(s), but dealing with their attitude (denying the problem when it turned out it was their fault, and storming out without saying a word) is not worth it. Reading though the reviews I see they are rated from 1 to 5 stars. I give them a rating of 5 stars for their excellent service. This repair is also through my home warranty contract. The technician, Travis, arrived the day after my submission of the claim and quickly determined that both my condenser and evaporator had failed and were in need of replacement rather than repair. Kris, the office manager, and Travis both interceded with the home warranty service to make sure that my equipment was replaced and not just repaired. It did take a few days for the home warranty service to approve the replacement of the equipment but, upon approval Kris scheduled my install for the first available time slot. As luck would have it the weather was typical Houston hot and dry until the day of the installation and then it rained. Ever, the installation team leader, and his team arrived at 8 am and rain be damned began the installation. They were soaked to the bone in no time but continued the installation until complete. And of course as soon as they had completed the installation the rain stopped. My highest compliments to the team at Elite AC. I would recommend them to anyone in need of competent and professional AC service. read more

As others, Elite was referred to us by our warranty company, the guy came he checked the central heating and fixed it, I paid $100, but the heating lasted 30 minutes and then stopped working, I called warranty company and they send the same company again and Elite sent the same technician he worked and told me that now there was some other problem, and I had to pay another $100, again it lasted an hour and stopped, I called my warranty company and they said they will sen Elite technician and if there is anothe problem I will have to pay another $100, I replied as one should reply with all the words they should hear. They sent another company and the new technician told me that the problem is in the motor and the last technician did not diagnose correctly, I called Elite and asked my $100 back that they refused. read more

We recently purchased a house with, an AC unit that was new in late 2015. Elite told us it uses the old R22 freon and the inside/outside unit should be replaced with the newer R410A model. I looked at the specification tags on the AC units and it says R410A. Got someone else to come out and they helped us transfer the warranty and fixed it for a few hundred dollars. The AC tech. that came out repaired the first one quickly and then said he needed a part for the second unit and he went and picked it up came back installed it quickly. Both units are running well. They called my insurance people and got the necessary approvals very quickly. Ok! so the other day my home's AC was only cooling the house to 75 no cooler then that, So I called the warranty Co. and they set up a service call with Elite AC and Heat. They came out the next day in a unmarked truck "Red" The guy walks over to the thermostat and sets it to 60 and go's in the attic and takes apart the evaporator cover and tells me that its 50% plugged and he will be reporting that to the warranty Co. then he go's the condenser hooks up the gadget and tells me that the unit needs 2lb of Freon and its $50 a pound. So after putting in the 2lb he packs his things and I pay him. He never went back in to the home to check any thing just drove off. That day it was only 72 out side. The next morning I get up and put thing's away I the attic and see that he never put the cover on the evaporator tightly and was not missing 3 screws and blowing air out the side of the unit. I called them on this and told them that if he checked the unit with the cover loose he will get a bad reading at the condenser. he told me know he will not and the AC leeks all the time by the drain plug and all over. He told me he will call my warranty Co. and see what they want to do. I felt that I was just ripped off and I called the warranty Co and told them what had happened and well on the phone with then I seen that my warranty Co was calling me so I clicked over,they told me " We just got a call from Elite AC and heat telling us that you are taking apart your evaporator and hooking up your own gauges to the unit!" I was totally shocked that they called them and told them this. I was told that the warranty will no longer cover this AC unit.....Reading other complaints on Elite AC and heat looks like a bad pattern! Stay away from them they are a shady Co. The warranty Co is sending out some one to look at the unit with a 2nd opinion this week! read more

So the gentleman that came to my house today from this company was very nice. He checked out everything and explained what was going on with my A/C Unit. I received a call from my Home Warranty company and they told me that my claim was denied. I then called the company and spoke with a woman that then explained the different reasons why my claim was denied I was never rude to her and I my exact words were okay thank you let me call my Home Warranty company they seem like a DAMN Gimmick to me. I then received a call from the owner telling me that my claim was denied and to KISS HIS A$$ and never call his FU$%ING company again... Really sir I was never rude to you or anyone in your office. I am so pissed off with my Home Warranty company for sending out this company to my home. I am far from upset that my claim was denied I am use to dealing with the Home Warranty company.... The fact that the owner had the nerves to call my home and be rude to me is my problem. I would give zero stars to this company, if I could. Please, please do not use them. My ac wasn't cooling, so I called my home warranty company. They sent out Elite AC. After looking at my system, the technician claimed that I needed not only a new evaporator coil, but a laundry list of codes and modifications to the tune of $1300 outside of warranty. He also wanted to sell me a new outside unit. Now, I had just had my spring ac check done 2 1/2 months prior by another company and it had passed with flying colors. I was skeptical, so I called the company who had done the spring ac check for a second opinion. Not only did I NOT need a new evaporator coil (or any of the bogus codes & mods), the repair turned out to be something very minor that only cost me $200. What the honest technician told me is that companies don't make any money off of warranty work, so they often pad the bills. I am so glad that I got a second opinion. It saved me a ton of money and my ac is once again running like a champ. Elite AC was trying to pull a fast one. I cannot in good faith recommend them. Lesson learned: it is always a good idea to get at least a 2nd opinion on any major repairs. read more

Elite AC was referred to us by our home warranty company. They showed up as scheduled. They proceeded to our outside cooling unit, topped off the R22 and promptly left. Never checked the coils inside the attic, ever checked ANYTHING. 3 hours later I called to tell them that the system was still blowing hot air. Told me to call my warranty company for a recall authorization. They showed up the next day. I was in the driveway with my dogs as they drove into my neighborhood at 60 miles an hour. My wife asked them very nicely to please slow down. The attitude started from there. 10 minutes later they drove off calling out the window of their truck that another service company would be assigned. When I spoke to my warranty company, they had called and told them that my AC was "Incorrectly Installed". This of course immediately triggers a Denial of Warranty Service. My company was astute enough to send another AC company who essentially refuted EVERYTHING Elite had said. What a JOKE of a Company. STAY AWAY!!!! read more
