The cinnamon roll was dry and lacked any flavor - I couldn't even really taste cinnamon to be honest. The cookie had a little more flavor but was more bland than a typical chocolate chip cookie. The person who took my order was rude. I felt a bit like I was interacting with the mean popular kid in high school. The ambiance was boring. I felt like the whole place was more concerned with their aesthetic rather than the actual taste and quality of the food. When I walk into a bakery around 8am on a Saturday morning I expect to smell baked goods but I didn't smell anything and I thought that was weird. Amazing French inspired bakery and cafe in Costa Mesa. Parking is very limited in front of the restaurant, however there is additional parking in the back of the plaza or in residential areas. I loved how simple the menu was. Many options to choose from traditional breakfast to sandwiches, and grab and go pastries. Depending on the weather it might be better to eat outside vs inside. There isn't AC while eating indoors. The omelette was French style, super fluffy and cooked to perfection. I also ended up ordering an ice latte with milk substitute. Service was super fast and the waiter will take your order and run your card before food comes out. Definitely want to come back and try other food options. Deceptive looks. It's pretty but the food pricy and doesn't taste good :(( The creamed spinach and cream of sweet potato both have a soapy floral aftertaste that tasted kinda gross. My husband and I have gone to Eller for breakfast so many times. They are organic and have excellent choices for breakfast. Many pastries. Specialty drinks. they ground their own coffee and sell it by the bag which we bought. Excellent! The bread is made with their flour that they ground on equipment shown in the place. The bakery is on the premises and you can see bakers creating special pastries. The pastries aren't too sweet at tall and so flavorful. I don't suggest dinner. Not a meal you'd be used to. We both had the pasta and it was unlike any pasta we ever had in not a good way. I'm Italian New Yorker who had been to Italy and I can honestly say this homemade pasta was California pasta. It was dense and chewy with lumpy chocolate. 2/18 went to Wilson to get coffee. In all of my stupidity, I wanted to give this place (and the croissant) another try. Made sure it's the regular croissant this time. $6.75 mistake. It was slightly flakier than the chocolate one, but still so dense and chewy. Matcha latte- bland, lukewarm. Croissant- Too doughy, lacked layers. Was also grainy. Don't think sourdough is supposed to be used for croissants. Cinnamon bun- I can see the vision but the execution was lacking. Moist bun but had a slightly sour taste. The cream cheese frosting was too strong and didn't provide a good contrast to the sour bun since that was sour too. It would've maybe worked with a vanilla frosting instead. Chocolate croissant- The best out of everything I got but still grainy and doughy. The chocolate covered up some of the taste. There are better bakeries out there. read more

I was introduced to Eller by a coworker, and I'm so glad he shared this gem with me! From the first steps in, I knew that this place was something special. From the grain to the coffee beans, every bite and sip feels incredibly intentional. The croissants are sourdough croissants, which was incredibly delicious and balance the sweetness of the chocolate or almond fillings really well. I ordered a Maple Latte; the latte was delicious with a great espresso pull. The drink lacked the maple flavor though. The criticism about the line up and ordering experience is the same with my experience. It was confusing to navigate upon first steps into the shop. There was no greeting by staff or clear directions on where to line up. I had to line up behind a group of people and hope for the best. There was one line for both dine in and pick up. Eller would be a 5/5 experience if there was an online ordering system in place to facilitate pick up. Those of us who are just dropping in for a quick pastry run are nearly forced into a sit down level of time commitment with the lines and valet (complimentary). I hope they continue to grow and create more robust processes to support the different types of customers they have in their fan base! Had heard about this place a few times and was very excited to stop in and try a few things. First thing to note is parking is very limited - they do have valet, which for a quick grab and go isn't ideal. As a person who has a gluten intolerance generally things made from sourdough are easier on me and their pastries are made with sourdough so I was super excited to try those. I tried the almond croissant, cinnamon roll and a maple latte. They had other pastries, bread and breakfast but I was on my way to work so just grabbed a few to try. I should start by saying almond croissants are my favorite things on earth and I will take the tummy trouble for a good one. I was hoping this would solve my issues - but unfortunately it isn't going to happen. I was impressed by the flakiness and the texture was only slightly off. But the flavor profile - there is citrus added I'm pretty sure- just didn't land right for me. It may for others. It wasn't bad, just not for me. The BANNANA LATTE made from in-house syrups and free of seed oil oat/almond milk is phenomenal. That paired with the OUTDOOR environment is enough reason to take and seat and enjoy a cup for here with a friend. I will begin by saying I have ordered their baked goods to go in the past and they were good. Today I decided to dine inside and ordered a veggie bowl, also a protein bowl to go. There is nothing "bowl" about this. It is served in a small little dish, less than 2" high and served undressed. When you try to put on the dressing, it spills over the dish on to the table. When I asked for a larger bowl I was told that is the largest one they had. The dressing was not special, dare I say a bottled dressing with terrible flavor. Please re think your serving dishes! The staff is so friendly, and the food is clean, refined sugar free, freshly milled, and I felt so good after eating it! Like she's giving japandi scandi christian girl autumn with a touch of minimalism... maru coffee is shaking in their boots!!!! We had the sourdough kanelbuller which was apparently like a twisty cardamom bun. but I've have a few cardamom buns in my lifetime and this was not yummy :( the flavors were confusing (acidic and sligjtly bitter?
