This post is dedicated to the $45 bottle of kin elixir I spent 15 minutes staring at trying to justify its price. I combed for all the words to make the average erewhonderling salivate - prebiotic, non gmo, digestive health support, 20mg hemp extract, locally sourced, etc. They were all there, but due to my calculations 15 words at a $2 upsell per is only $30. Where's the extra $15?! Maybe it's the up-charge on all the products (I'm guessing all these products are hand imported from an artist basement off Abbott Kinney) to make the $200/yr membership for 10% discount (I mean 10% cashback... Sportsman Lodge has had a brand new face lift - and what a face lift it was! I mean, it went from a beat-up, old fogie, run down hotel / restaurant, to a super chic, high end property. This transformation must have cost a Zillion Dollars because what it was to what it is, is magnificent! The restaurants, gyms, stores and whatever other businesses that spending a ton of "zeroes" in rent will, I'm sure will do just fine. This shopping center was packed. The super market, Erewons, is this world class market that carries every fine food available. We knew that going in; but, it was the packaged lunches and deli section we heard was incomparable to any restaurant or market or stores around. And this scuttlebutt was totally - Right On! There was so much to chose from, it took us 30 minutes to make up our minds. We settles on a tuna wrap that was insanely good. It had more flavors and spices going on, and we loved it. We also got a California Roll that was a good as any California Roll on Ventura Blvd., and that's saying a mouth full. Erewon at The Sportsman Lodge is not cheap. If you get "Sticker Shock" at a Tuesday mid-day lunch, this place is NOT for you. But, take this into consideration this: The ingredients, the portions, the care it took to make this little gems, along this the ambiance in the quiet setting, is well worth the price paid! So much so, that if I still lived in Los Angeles, I would eat here 3-4 times a week. read more

I absolutely love Erewhon, this is the third location by them that I got to visit and I was a bit disappointed. Overall, the aesthetics is similar to the normal stores and the Shopping Center where it was located is absolutely beautiful. It reminds me of the Venice because they also validate for parking. Unfortunately the size of the store is very strange, coming here I felt so uncomfortable. There are so many people, no social distancing at all & the isles are so small it is like only one person can go through at a time. We can't say enough about how great Erewhon ambiance, service and food is beyond amazing. Another introduction from my daughter. She's an explorer for different things. My first experience shopping there was intriguing. We definitely make it a day in Studio City to shop and eat. Their hot bar is so good. I have had a few meals. My all time favorites are the "Chorizo and Sweet Potato Hash, Taquitos, Tuna Salad and Arugula Guacamole. We also get our puppy food from there and CJ loves it. It's a one stop shop for everyone. The patio is great to take a break to relax and eat a bite from the restaurants on the patio. Always looking forward to spend the day in the valley. read more

This organic shake just literally had carrots in it. There was nothing special whatsoever about it and way too over priced for a basic carrot and water shake in a cup. Also, the coffee was so acidic and mind you it was seven dollars. Erewhon opened their newest location TODAY, 11/11/2021, in Studio City (finally!!). This location has the same goods and quality as you would expect from other Erewhon locations. Parking is free and is spacious. The dining area has a very warm and fun atmosphere. There's also an area where kids can play basketball while the parents chat :-). From the outside, the market looks spacious, but inside it isn't as big as I thought (probably more storage space) -- BUT every part of the market is up to the Erewhon standards and expectations. One downside I had with this location is that their cold-pressed juice section is a lot smaller than other locations. I'm a big fan of Erewhon's cold-pressed juice selection so this was kind of sad to see. For reference, it is ... about 1/2 of the size of the Beverly Blvd location, so automatically, your selection is a bit smaller and limited. I got a smoothie from this Erewhon and the employee at the smoothie bar asked me if I wanted to be a member. She said I could get any free smoothie once a month and after I got my membership, I was told the next time that I could not choose the smoothie, that it would be chosen for me. Misleading and awful way of getting people's money. I contacted Erewhon and was told they would not refund me. I told them I was misled and that I would be filing a credit card dispute. They ignored me. I'm boycotting Erewhon. What a DISGRACEFUL, SHADY AND AVARICIOUS business. Good riddance! read more

Food is good most of the time but lately the service has been subpar. It's been multiple times that employees have been rude or unprofessional. For example today (although not a big deal) I wanted to get a ciabatta bread there was only one left. But it wasn't properly closed I guess and I had it in my basket at the bottom. Then the cashier grabbed it (rushing) and it slipped out of the bag so I was like ok whatever. Then he says do you still want it and im like ummm it fell onto the dirty basket I don't want it. I will be the first to admit that Erewhon has insanely delicious and clean offerings-- their salmon belly cakes are some of the best things I have EVER put in my mouth -- but my wallet doesn't appreciate being totally robbed whenever I make the trek here! $14.50 for like 3/4 ounces of grilled salmon is highway robbery! The salmon belly cakes are pricy AF as well but IMO those are worth it- ha ha! The grilled salmon or chicken however, they can easily be made at home or just hit up Whole Foods cause while their grilled salmon is also expensive, it's $20 cheaper per pound! read more

You can't put a price on good health and nutrition. I am so happy this location is open now. The cramped and busy other location is a bear to conquer from the valley. This new store is palatial and jam packed full of gorgeous goods. Chris took time exploring and explaining all of the medicinal wonders with personal testimony on many items. The moss goo was a particularly weird and interesting curiosity. Just a spoon full of goop a day to keep inflammation away! Hide it in a smoothie to mask the goopy goodness. They have sesame Tartine bread from San Francisco which I adore toasted with butter and fancy apricot jam. My gas tank thanks you for bringing so many good things together. You want camel milk? Yup they're fully stocked up. Ron's tea garden goodness in my smoothie everyday keeps the wheels turning. After many historical years of weddings, secret rendezvous and bar mitzvahs, the grounds have been transformed from a swan filled astro turf swamp into a serene pathway to chic shopping. They left the 100 year old redwood trees intact and added gentel streams to guide you on your adventures. I guess I'm a rich fancy valley hippie now......peace out Sportman's Lodge! read more

This feels like a scam. Like I'll put money on that in a few years some big expose will come out and we'll find out all the $27 smoothies are actually filled with high fructose corn syrup smuggled in from some poor neighboring country. Maybe not that, but something weirdly shady. I can't stand this shop and dare I say it, the people that shop here. I nearly was run over by a few entitled folks that seemed to have no issue mowing me down in an attempt for a parking spot. But back to the store itself, who the hell needs to spend $30 on a mason jar filled with random items from the bulk bin. This did give a good laugh The places drips with BS. Rude Valley folk shop for quasi healthy foods that are either packed or premade. The produce section is super weak for a store that touts how healthy it is. It was also the only empty section. Also, why are the aisles so narrow? Are they trying to chase away people in wheelchairs or fat people? Me thinks so. This place sucks. If you need real groceries to shop for, Whole Foods has the same selection but cheaper and more options. Only come here if you want to pay more than you should for some grocery deli food. Amazing store! Some of the best products money can buy. Corporate could have picked a larger/better layout...If I'm paying that much money I prefer not be bumping into people. The Bieber shake crowd is lined up as soon as you enter, good times. The parking lot is a sh*t show, but free for the first 90 minutes. All employees are really nice. Lots of Noses pointed to the ceiling, so be prepared to be ignored and listen to people being on speaker phone as they shop. Gooooood times Los Angeles. All in all a great store. read more

As a local I shopped drew him when I was a kid and it was a hippie grocer on Beverly with only natural and many bulk items. It's now a luxury grocer with trendy health as its sole focus. Nice small market with good quality products. Pretty busy in the mornings. I recommend you have plenty of time to spend there, if you order any of the shakes or bowls. The orders take a while to be prepared. I observed the person who prepared ours...he took over half an hour to prepare two bowls and one shake. I've recently become a lover of erewhon. I have had hit or misses but i became obsessed with Dr. Paul's Raw animal smoothie. That was the main reason I continued to return. Unfortunately the recipe complete changed as of late. I tried to have it made the old way and I was told that wasn't possible. Which i don't understand as you can order a custom smoothie anyway. Dogs big and small are allowed in the store. It's not that they enter unseen, they casually walk right past the observing manager. These dogs routinely sniff the soup counter, brush past everything in the store leaving untold germs while jeopardizing the health and well being of other shoppers who enter the store without dogs. I don't know of any other supermarket which allows this menace. I'm not talking about guide dogs which are trained to assist persons who are disabled. I'm referring to those dogs who are clearly not assist dogs, i.e. they tug and pull at the leash as they spread their germs throughout the store. The owners sometimes pick them up so that the dog can better see the hot food. I love the food at Erewhon. I enjoy all of their organic offerings even though they are expensive. I just expect more from Erewhon's management. The management places the health of their customers at risk and downgrades the quality of their merchandise. Several of us have brought this concern to Erewhon's management but the concern is quickly dismissed as an non-issue. read more

Last night was my first time going to Erewhon in Studio City. I've liked Erewhon even before it was cool and trendy to like. The vegetables are displayed dry which is superior to being misted and wet. Some other grocery stores mist their vegetables because it looks more appealing to customers and looks fresh. But misting can lead to bacteria and the produce not lasting as long. it's definitely better dry as Erewhon displays. I'm about the pre prepared salads and food. Everything looked healthy and fresh and absolutely amazing. Salads were about 20 per pound. The fresh soups are also a healthy choice and they were about 15 per glass container. The service is excellent because this store had the most employees I've ever seen in one grocery store. All employees were making aisles perfect and ready to help customers. The store and large outdoor seating area was poppin with all ages of people. The shooing center is overall excellent. There is 90 minutes free parking no validation required. read more

For the past month or so Studio City location have been making roasted wild coho salmon at the Cafe. Basic salt and pepper it was wonderful. Went in today and the Cafe is back to farmed one, and the only wild salmon they are making is drowned in bad sauce. The fish under that bad sauce is dry is just, tasted not fresh and all around gross. Total waste of money for terribly made fish. I really don't understand why you have to ruin good fish and Cafe refused to make wild salmon with just salt pepper. Bring plain salt and pepper wild salmon back. read more
