This is another great beloved coffee shop in Bishop Arts. In addition to a tasty latte, there are pastries, savory treats (empanadas) and other crafted drinks to enjoy (smoothies).

There's nothing like a fun drink to hold while you are shopping! I randomly stopped in on a Sunday morning. It took a while to receive my drink, but it wasn't really busy. They were out of some menu items, so choices were limited. I ordered a honey + vanilla latte and it was very very sweet. I think this is a fine stop, but nothing I will be going out of the way for.

The place is small but the coffee was good. Whenever we walked in we didn't even get greeted & I felt like the barista was just doing her job. She wasn't friendly or didn't make me feel like coming back. The pastries look good but we just got coffee since we had just ate.

Haven't visited in a long time. Not sure but I'm thinking there is new ownership? I tried asking but they wouldn't elaborate just that they're no longer doing points. They weren't too friendly with the customers after us which was a turn off. I had the café con leche and it wasn't the same. You really can't go wrong with this drink. Not sure what happened here. It wasn't great. My friend had hers iced and she said it was okay. She also had an empanada and couldn't finish it. It was supposed to be ham and cheese. There wasn't much ham, just lots of cheese. The upgrades are very cute and modern. Nice looking shop!

My friend brought me here after our hot Pilates class around the corner. I got the honey lavender iced latte and two chicken and cheese empanadas. I ate the empanadas so fast that I didn't even have time to take a picture and the latte was gone before I got home. All in all great experience and friendly staff!

The coffee (caramel ) is the perfect blend of sweet & energy. I received great service, the cashiers were more than happy to offer recommendations. I highly recommend the pepperoni & cheese empanada. This is a great place to meet up with people very cal atmosphere.

I had the Chicken cheese, veggie, pepperoni, specialty guava and cream cheese empanadas and a coffee. The empanadas are great for the most part. The coffee is ok. I think overall it is a nice little spot but it wouldn't be my first pick for where to go in Bishop Arts.

My Oat milk Latte was incredible - strong rich notes from the espresso. Bright atmosphere with a few couches to sit and relax.

I ended up grabbing street parking a few blocks over with a 2-Hr limit. Next, we had reservations at 8 PM and there really weren't many guests, which is pretty off for dinner time. The ambiance and overall aesthetic of the space is nice. The music isn't loud so you can easily carry a conversation. My personal highlight from the night was the complimentary alcohol-free shot the very kind bartender provided for me. I'm sober so I appreciated feeling like everyone else! Lastly, the food was terrible and over priced. I was hoping to like the lobster bisque but was greatly disappointment. It taste like velvetta cheese and was extremely bland and lumpy. Almost like they receive it frozen and heat it up before serving. Out of all the 4 dishes, only the lamb chops were really good. One of my friends got the chicken Alfredo and said it taste like warmed up Olive Garden. My other friend got the Carne de Fuego which is suppose to be Waygu beef and wasn't. With a price of $59 with ONLY 4 pieces of asparagus as a side, we were expecting more. I ended up sending the lobster bisque back and settling for the caesar salad (no protein) which was $15.

Upon arriving the day of, we were sat immediately. But the remainder of service was pretty slow especially considering they were operating on a pre-fix menu only. Out sever checked in 4x to ask us how our experience was as we were waiting for our appetizer, the queso frito, which is just fried cheese and and guava paste. Unfortunately the steaks didn't come out hot, and I'd say they were barely room temperature. Both our table and the tables next to us had our steaks come out overcooked which was disappointing as well. The ambiance was nice, they had rose pedals on all the tables and a live band playing that was taking request for songs. All in all it was a good experience, but definitely not worth almost $350. Not sure if their regular menu is as pricey, but I would be hesitant to dine here again if it is.

The staff is friendly and attentive. Our server, Marlene, was great at her job - shared the specials, answered any questions we had, very friendly. We split 3 empanadas to start - the beef one is my favorite. For my meal, I have to get steak every time, they're just so good! I got the skirt steak with cilantro lime rice and black beans. The portion was huge and the steak and sides were all 10/10. The grilled veggies also have the best flavor - a nice grill char and seasoning. My husband got the ribeye and said it may be the best steak he's ever had. Lastly, the Pinot Noir bottle we split was the perfect pairing for the meal. Can't recommend Chimichurri enough!

Food anxiety and flavor preference is a real thing that can ruin a meal, might wanna update the menue to delineate dishes with strong flavors. First of all, I got an email inviting me to come visit the restaurant with a buy one get one free, but it kind of seemed like they were annoyed that we were using it. This could be just my anxiety, but I felt like we were treated a little bit less warmly by some of the staff than other tables. For example, a manager of some type was walking the floor. He stopped at the table before us and checked in on them, skipped us and went to the table after us and checked in on them, and then only on his way back to wherever he was going, he stopped reluctantly and acknowledged us. It definitely made me feel like we were not as welcome as the other tables. Second, I don't like the inclusion of the picanha for the higher price (vs. what they were doing before which was an upcharge if you wanted the steak), because the protein that I like at Casa Pollastro is the chicken. I don't really love their steak and do not want to pay $10pp more for it. Lastly, what I had loved about this restaurant in the past was that it felt like I was enjoying a meal at a family home, served with love and care. I think that they've made some changes which are smart for a restaurant, but it took away a lot of the warm and fuzzies for me. It felt like they're trying really hard to be a high-end restaurant but what I remember from this last experience was coldness and putting profit first. Now I can't be mad if they want to grow up as a restaurant and this is just part of the growing pains, but I will mourn the loss of the experience that we loved so much that we chose to have our engagement party at this restaurant. We will not be back.

At the bar, the bartender gave excellent service and convinced us to try a couple of tacos along with the yuca fries and plantains we originally planned to order--and I'm glad he did. The Tacos Al Carbón were outstanding: grilled fajita beef with sautéed poblano and onion on flour tortillas topped with pico de gallo and guacamole. The steak was tender and full of flavor. The beans and rice were just right, and the plantains with coconut sauce were a perfect addition. The bartender also recommended a Stone Delicious IPA, which made the short wait enjoyable. I ordered the Calisticas with chicken and the Pernil (braised pork). The crispy plantains were one of the highlights of the meal, providing a nice texture and crunch. The pork was tender and juicy, although I unexpectedly encountered a large bone joint in one portion. The chicken cups were less successful. They were noticeably oily and lacked the juicy, flavorful bite I was expecting. The standout flavor of the meal was actually the chimichurri sauce. It added brightness and depth, and I found myself pouring it over nearly everything on the plate. Overall, the experience felt very much like eating at a friend's home--comforting, unpretentious, and made with care. That home-style atmosphere extended to the food preparation as well, which appeared informal (I did see prep without gloves) and may not appeal to guests who expect a more polished restaurant experience. While there were some enjoyable elements, particularly the hospitality, plantains, pork, and chimichurri, the execution of several dishes was inconsistent. A decent meal with a welcoming spirit, but not one that fully lived up to its potential.
