Love their patio right next to this alley!

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Still a great spot for drinks and nosh in Lil Tokyo. The hubby and I wanted to watch a hockey game before an event nearby and this place was convenient. I haven't been here in years but I was happy to see little had changed. We ordered off the Happy Hour menu: - beer and shot of sake - house old fashioned (found out their well bourbon was Buffalo Trace, which was a pleasant surprise) - Toki highball on draft - Wasabi fries (zesty sauce, nice and crispy) - Shrimp tacos (tasty , with salsa verde that was nicely spicy) - crispy shell mapo tofu tacos--delicious! We were able to watch our game and left happy.

Forgot I've been here a few times, but somehow I keep coming back. Ended up in Little Tokyo again, picked a random spot, and landed here. Started with the wasabi fries which were crispy with a nice kick, as you'd expect based on the name. Went with the pork belly ramen next; the meat was super tender and the broth had a rich, savory taste. Ramen might not be their specialty, so there are probably stronger options with more variety nearby, but it still hit the spot. The drinks were the real highlight. La Luna y Sol was solid, but the Jade Empire stole the show. light, refreshing, and perfect for a hot summer day. You can't really taste the alcohol so it's a dangerous one because it's just so darn delicious! Service was friendly and attentive. The vibe is laid back, with a lot of people watching the game that was on. Good spot to hang with friends, grab drinks, and share some bites. I went solo so also great for that if you want.

Dropped in with a friend for a drink. There is seating both inside and outside on a patio. Neither are particularly spacious if you are hoping to bring a large party. I ordered the michelada and some garlic edamame to snack on. The michelada was way too salty, but the garlic edamame was delicious. Service was fine. However, when I needed to use the restroom, the restroom situation was interesting. They have two single person restrooms inside and one single person restroom on the patio. The ones inside were occupied, and there was a sign stating that there was another restroom on the patio. When I went looking for the restroom on the patio and asked for help finding it, the staff person on the patio tried to redirect me back inside. I had to explain to them that the ones inside were occupied before he told me where the restroom on the patio was located. Not sure why this person didn't just tell me where the restroom on the patio was located when I was already on the patio. Definitely seemed like a local hangout kind of place as there were quite a few people there catching up or watching the Dodgers game or the World Cup.

Finding a real bar in Little Tokyo isn't easy, but Far Bar hits the mark. We wanted a spot for a snack and a cocktail, and this was perfect. We went with the Beer and Shot -- dealer's choice -- and it was a great pick. The sushi roll was solid, exactly what we needed to round out the drinks. Cozy, no-frills, and exactly the kind of spot Little Tokyo needed.

The food here is delicious! The drinks and beer are great too but I truly come for their bacon fried rice and I just recently tried their chicken sliders which was also delicious! Their bartenders are quick and always provide good drinks. Nice vibe, Dodger fans are here all the time, and lots of space!

I come here often for games and for their great prices during happy hour! It's from 3-7pm and they have great options on the choices, you're saving a couple bucks but still decent prices. I usually get the far bar special cheeseburger and my husband and I split it cause it's a big burger. We'll also order extra fries or tots. Today's burger was a little disappointing, I didn't even let it sit for long and the bottom bun was extremely soggy, to the point where I couldn't eat it. (Refer to photo). The fries and regular straight fries and the tots come with pork and other toppings that taste delicious (minus the wasabi mayo- just not a fan of wasabi) Service is always great and the bar is a fun atmosphere- especially during dodger games.

Stopped by for my lunch after attending an event nearby. A little confusing when it's called Far Bar, but the marquee still says Far East from the previous establishment. Why not Far East Sports Bar? Loved the food when this bar catered to the Little Tokyo Historical Society anniversary lunch on Sun, 3/8. Today I had the Misoyaki salmon salad with beautiful watermelon radish, tender salmon and a nice salad. It was delicious! I had a nice bottle of water all to myself. Good service when I was was there. I think they need an extra person. When I arrived at the restaurant, I saw the "wait to be seated" sign and waited. I waited a few minutes before someone came up. Nice ambience that will grow louder in noise, clamoring and cheers. Friendly service, but I can see more help is needed. My friend and I will return on Sat, 5/9, about 4:45pm after a show and will be in the patio. Cash discount on the bill if paid in cash. Free saki shots when Shohei homers.

Visited twice during my recent visit to DTLA/Little Tokyo and if I were a local, I'd come here to watch all the Dodger games! The prices for food were fair! Beer was on the pricier side as their next door neighbor offered the same draft Sapporo, but $2.50 cheaper. We enjoyed and loved the Wagyu hotdog, the wasabi fries, matcha ice cream, and sushi roll! Great ambience and our server on our first visit was outstanding. On our second visit, service was lacking that same attentive detail, we think it was due to the different staff personalities. Overall still a great value and good experience if you are looking for a quick bite and escape the LA heat.

The food was great, the space was immaculate, but the service was horrible. I'm not sure if this is a restaurant where a server takes care of you or it's just a bar where I shouldn't have expected to be checked on. Weird.

Was wondering in town and found this nice chill spot. Service was great. Overall the food was okay, nothing special. We tried out their pork ramen but it only had a few noodles. What I do recommend is their bbq ghost pepper wings. They have a lil kick to them but super great.

First Friday night when Far Bar was not packed with people. I couldn't be happier about that because I have had to walk away in search of alternate space to spend my money. We invited an out of town friend to meet us for dinner and drinks. We were seated fairly quickly. We were lead to the outdoor dining/seating space on a rather chilly night but were seated right at the lovely, huge heating lamp. Dark space, low light, chill vibes..perfect atmosphere for our friend reunion. We truly enjoyed our drinks and food. Staff was friendly and attentive. Would recommend for date night, games, and group gatherings. What we ordered: - Whiskey flight: 3 types of whiskey (can't go wrong with whiskey) - Spicy Edamame (complimentary levels of spicy and garlic) - Maneki Tots (lots of flavor and didn't get soggy) - Far Bar Burger (not pictured but the gouda, bacon, and sriracha mayo combo was delish) and the star of the show for me: - Garlic Shrimp Pasta (garlic buttery, lemony, creamy goodness with chili flakes and notes of ginger possibly. Consuming this dish made me happy and I would order this each and every time)***** five stars Parking: very rare to find street parking. parking structure across the street. I usually park at Starbucks a block away. It's a flat fee of $10 which works for me since I usually walk and hang at several Little Tokyo locations and wouldn't want to move the car to pay for multiple parking spots.

4.5/5 - rounded up to 5 :) been here twice so far and the servers are always nice and accommodating. My favorites so far are the Maneki Tots and Pastrami Sandwich. Happy hour deals are good too - I can definitely get full here without breaking the bank. Love the decor and vibes too, perfect spot for hanging with friends! Only gripe right now is the "Burger Special" on the happy hour menu - my friend was charged $5 extra for the beer option , but nowhere on the menu did it mention an extra cost. I think the wording should be changed to clarify this!

I enjoyed this flavor so much that I ended up getting two more rounds later. Plenty of beer selection on tap and even wine. They offer indoor/outdoor seating as well as some space upstairs. Indoors they have a big screen, and the outdoor patio has a TV. Lastly, the upstairs area has a smaller TV. They also have rotating food trucks for anyone that develops hunger or cravings. First visit to this fun establishment. Cute front patio with umbrella covered tables, inside…read moreseating area, and a huge beer garden out back. Parking is on street only and can be challenging. Service was excellent, starting with Dylan who waited on us and was helpful, patient, and super friendly, as were the rest of the staff that chipped in throughout our visit. DRINK: Extensive German beer menu, but also cocktails, and non-alcoholic selections. We ordered a bottomless cup of Coffee ($4), a .4L Reissdorf Koelsch ($8.50), stein of Hacker Pschorr Weisse ($19), and a stein of Paulaner Oktoberfest ($19). FOOD: We started by sharing a Sausage Platter ($17) which came with 3 sausages, 3 mustards, and some sliced pickles. For our entrees, we tried the Beef Rouladen ($26) served over mashed potatoes, and the Jäger Schnitzel ($28), served with 2 sides. NOTE: The schnitzel was $5 more than shown on the menu. I asked about their Spaztel which the chef said was one of their specialties. He brought us a small sample, and it was delicious! We finished it off with Apple Strudel with Vanilla Ice Cream ($12.50). The flavors were very good, although some of the preparations were a little different than I'm used to. I'm half German and my mother is full, so we think we know German cuisine very well. All in all, it was a great experience and we will definitely be heading back for more!

What a wonderful experience our family had at Kiez Küche & Beer Garden…read more There were nine of us, and we arrived during a World Cup game, so the whole place was buzzing with energy and fun. Our family is German, so we know good German food....and let me just say, they nailed it, my friends. The Jägerschnitzel was the best I've ever had (sorry, Oma). The cucumber salad, red cabbage, appetizers, and beer were all fabulous. And the desserts? Absolutely heavenly. The apple strudel was even better than the one I had at one of the finest restaurants in Berlin, and the bread pudding was a warm ambrosia. I was honestly surprised to see a couple of reviewers taking off stars for the most dumb stuff, because our experience was outstanding from start to finish. The service, the food, the atmosphere...all of it was on point. If you're looking for authentic, delicious German food in a lively, welcoming setting, Kiez Küche & Beer Garden is absolutely worth a visit. Such a memorable meal and experience for our family. We will be back!!!!
