My favorite place in the world (that's right, the world) to get coffee / espresso drinks and yummy food. The lattes are the best I've ever had. The iced coffees are perfect for those rare warm San Francisco days. And the food is always delicious, inspiring and made with love (courtesy of Kate!) Great coffee, great sandwich. The price is understandable because they get fresh ingredients daily and it's not made by someone who gets paid minimum wage to stand behind a counter. C'mon people this isn't Subway! You get what you pay for. The communal table thing gets talked about a lot. It was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. What a neighborhood treasure! We were staying at Adagio around the corner and stumble upon this place. Great local atmosphere (complete with local eccentrics ;) ), INSANELY great coffee, and great food. I had the bread pudding with was very nice and mellow and perfect bite to start the day. My wife had the boiled egg on baguette with cheese and intensely flavorful micro-greens. Everything was made fresh and with great care. Friendly staff and great one-table setting that creates a cool community-like atmosphere. They serve Verve coffee from Santa Cruz made with a french-press that was really great. These guys KNOW and REALLY care about their coffee. I was thrilled. WIll hit up again next time we are in SF. read more

The setup at farm:table is much like their product offering - simple and no frills. If you want a place that is going to overwhelm all of your senses, look elsewhere. I like the daily menu format since it keeps things interesting but if there isn't something that you like on there, and you haven't checked ahead, you'll have to go somewhere else. I love the tiny space, large communal table, and neighborhood-y feel. The coffee is good and strong, and I always want to try everything on the (small) menu. I came here a couple of times in their off hours and chatted with the guy behind the counter about the different roasts. It was like talking to a coffee sommelier. The dishes could be hotter. And their milk options are limited to whole and almond, which is slightly annoying for someone who is mildly lactose intolerant and allergic to nuts (yay!). It's a small space, but the food and coffee are fantastic. I stopped by early in the day and ordered coffee as well as hard boiled eggs, melted fennel, and bacon on toast. They brought me coffee very quickly. The coffee was fantastic - very flavorful. My food was up in short order as well and I was not disappointed. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well presented. Creative, but very limited menu. Only four items available on the day I visited- all that I could have readily prepared on my own. The biggest downside- there is a single square table indoors that can't seat more than 8 people. This means that, in the event that you get an unpleasantly self-centered verbose involuntary dining companion, that person will be totally in your face. My chatty neighbor was so busy regaling her friend (and by extension, everyone at the table) with the tedious details of her personal life that she managed to knock over her coffee, which poured right onto my lap. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food at this small but fine establishment. I like the daily menu approach because it keeps things fresh and exciting. I had the Spice Pork on Challah and it was very tasty. the pork was very juicy and flavorful and paired well with the frech press coffee of the day and the mixed greens side salad. If I could, I would give this place 3.5 stars. It's got a great vibe, but the food I ordered didn't turn out as good as I was expecting... it was one of their egg croissant sandwiches, but the egg is a hardboiled egg sliced in half. We got in at 7:30 on a weekday for breakfast and had the daily toast and daily cereal. A bit pricey at $8 a piece, but the toast was good and topped with mascarpone and fresh fruit, and the cereal I think had housemade yogurt and jam amongst other things. Yummy, simple and light, and also different from normal heavy brunch/breakfast fare. There is also a selection of baked goods. Very small location, with just one table (usually shared) if you're eating in. If I was in the area for breakfast again, I might stop by, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. read more

First, the croissant came out WITH A HAIR. I went back to kitchen to notify them and came to realize they all had hair and no hair nets in the kitchen. Got a new one, but with ham. The lady didn't believe I had ordered one without ham. Hair was gross enough, but they messed the order twice. Concept is good and food is good but potions are small for price. They do have a neat architectural sitting area right out front of their shop. Their daily toast is awesome! MUST GET! This place is stunning! The manger Christian was beyond courteous and made sure everything was to our liking. You can't beat the view. We had the Avocado pizza delish and the Paella which was so good! The drinks were cool and refreshing, so was dessert. Pretentious hipster crap. We tried to order toast with eggs (which wasn't the daily special) and were promptly told we couldn't do that. So we ordered two house cereals with yogurt and a cappuccino, total cost $26 with tip. This is probably $1-2 worth of food and it honestly wasn't anything memorable or special. Skip this place. My husband and I thought we would try this place for breakfast during our visit to San Francisco. While the food was good, it is not all made in house and varies day to day. We attempted to order a Savory tart "vegan", which we had seen from another review. Apparently, they did not have a vegan savory tart and were unable to take off the cheddar cheese when ordering, because they were remade and sent to Farm:Table in the morning. If you are vegan, there are other options such as cereal, oatmeal and salad..etc. Seating is extremely limited and the line can be very long. My advise would be to go early! read more
