Absolutely loved it. The barista recommended the Nutella latte and it did not disappoint. The daily toast was far better than expected. I'm a picky eater and at first I was hesitant, but honestly it couldn't have been better. The brioche was perfectly toasted, there wasn't too much marscapone, and the fruit was fresh and delicious. I guess I didn't do enough research on this place. I wanted breakfast and it seems to have really good reviews so I thought I'd try it out. If you're visiting and only here for a few days, where every single meal counts, I would pass. Farm:Table is good enough. My coffee is yummy, and the egg croissant sandwich is basically a cold, hard-boiled egg, cut in half with a slice of cold ham and some lettuce. The name, in addition to its mission statement lead you to believe that this is a locally sourced and inspired menu. Though I think that the menu doesn't change aside from the fruit toppings on toast. This truly is not a breakfast place, it's a coffee shop with good enough food that will hold you over for the next hour or so. Oh SF health department, I think you dropped the ball on this place. If cleanliness was my only complaint, I would perhaps just leave it alone, but when you pay a nice amount of money for a sandwich that is supposed to be heated, and it is STONE COLD in the middle, with congealed bechamel sauce, and you have rude workers and an owner (??) that thinks space for her dogs is more important than paying customers, you have a serious problem here. The owner certainly sets the stage for the rude, dirty behavior of her employees. Six weeks or so ago (I actually wrote this review the day of, and Yelp said I did not publish it, so here is it) I wandered upon this hole in the wall and they have a croque monsieur on their menu. That sounded good and I always like to see how it is done. This one said it had turkey and ham with melted cheese. Sounded good enough that I forked over $14 post tip to take my sandwich a few blocks to eat. First I ordered, the guy did not welcome me, he did was not polite and pretty much was ready to end his day as he called out after my order "Only 15 more minutes." I should have known then I might have a problem. I sat down on the bench, at the very small table. In comes a woman with her two dogs, I am bad at dog types but it was something kind of puggish looking, one tan and one smaller one that was black. One was a badly behaved dog, so I rolled my eyes at the entitled woman who seemed to think her dogs deserved more space than actual humans. Then this woman starts to say "Bring your cameras early tomorrow and be ready to post on your social media. I will be in early and prep. I ordered a new square today." You can see why I thought she was the owner. AT this point her dog barks, another example of a bad dog owner. The bad dog owner then says to the employee "Don't give him anything Mr. So and so lost his right to get a treat because of his behavior." Ok, I was too fast to judge her as a bad dog owner, she is actually disciplining her dog, way to go. Woman owner with dog is still talking, fast and pressured (too much of one of the "Cs"...just not sure which one). Then the counter person is getting a piece of ham out...note, it is HAM. Of course, my first impression of this dog owner is correct as she says "Oh hand it to me and I will feed them as they take my fingers off as I do it." Ok woman, you just said your dog does not get anything, now you are giving some to it while you cry out and make a big deal that the dog nipped you. Really??!! In front of customers? I truly hope you never had human children as we don't need parents around like you. So all of this I would have ignored, not writing a Yelp review about it but the next move as just so unsanitary that I almost demanded my money back (and should have). An employee was holding metal utensils, and went to put the dogs. Hand runs from nose to butt. Then he walks over and uses THE SAME HAND to put the silverware in the container, touching all the parts we put into our mouth. Gross. No one was washing their hands, the person handling money was handling food with no gloves and not washing his hands, which is in violation of health codes. I take my sandwich back to the office. First of all there is about 1 ounce of meat on it and NO HAM. The damn dog got my ham. The cheese is cold and not melted, the meat cold (at least they chill their meat), and the bechamel sauce was stone cold and coagulated. The sides of the sandwich were burnt. Too hot, too fast. Gross. The whole thing got thrown away, what I waste of money. Go to this place if you want dog nose and butt germs on your food. Go if you want rude humans interacting with you. Go if you want cold food that is missing half the meat. Go if you want to walk away shaking your head and realizing you have to Yelp a 1-star review. read more

I walked in to this place and was shocked to see how tiny it is. It barely seats 8 people in a shared table. There are 2 small tables outside for a party of 2 each. So the seating is limited. But the food is to die for. I had one of the best Lattes in my life. By the time we got there, they had already stopped serving breakfast. So I ordered a roast beef sandwich and a mixed green salad. They did not disappoint. The service was spectacular and very welcoming. The food was fresh and delicious. Everything was priced very reasonably. As for the seating, it ended up working out. I really didn't even notice the other people that I was sharing the big center table with. I was too busy enjoying my food. The menu is very limited, but well worth it. Best coffee in the neighborhood. Excellent food for both breakfast and lunch with a menu that changes daily. Early on, they had some troubles with selling out of food not long after lunch started, but they've not only significantly improved that, they're now also open until 6pm during the week! I no longer have to leave the neighborhood for a cappuccino after 4pm! I wish they opened earlier! I love their ever changing menu. I've had a number of their quiches and they are simply to die for. The daily toast looked like a healthy breakfast to end a week of vacation gluttony. The pictures hooked us so my girlfriend and I made out trek over to farm:table from Union Square. The place was a bit smaller than we expected as there was only one communal table in the shop. There were also some seating outdoors, but it was a cold and windy December morning. The people were very nice and explain the menu and ordering system to us. A lady (owner?) even help us enter our order as it was our first time there. We got the daily toast and croissant sandwich. I have to say the food was excellent. The croissant was crispy and the eggs were perfectly soft boiled. With the daily toast, we requested that the marscapone cheese be put on the side and they happily did so. The fruit was ripe and the cheese was sweet just to my taste. The only fault was I thought the value was a bit off. Although the croissant sandwich tasted great it was underwhelming in size. Another small hiccup was that they left off the pistachios on the daily toast that we saw another customer had (but again we requested the marscapone on the side, so that may have threw off the cook and they simply forgot, not too big a deal since we made a special request). read more

It's wonderful to have a pretty displayed fruit toast and a cup of coffee to start the morning. The place is small with very limited seating. Better expect some wait before getting a seat. Original review:The food was good but not a lot of options. One "entree" each and a drink was $28. A little steep. But worse the seating. There's very limited seating and the pushier and sneaker you are the easier it is to actually sit. We were waiting for a shared table when some one got up. My husband and I (I am pregnant - but not that that really matters, just the point) go to sit dow when a man sitting there nearly done with his meal told us we were not able to sit there he's saving these seats. ummm for who? A minute or two later multiple people who he knew say down without even ordering yet. The management needs to figure out how to make this easier for patrons. read more

Cutest little brunch spot. High emphasis on the LITTLE -- I think there's about 4 seating areas total that including inside and outside. Cute little hole in the wall type shop. I came here because few of my friends were raving abt it. I got the salmon toast, super salad & the croissant. the best part of the meal was the croissant, really delicious and would come back for that alone. This is one of my absolute favorite coffee/breakfast spots in SF. They have very good quality coffee and many types of lattes (honey lavender is my favorite) and all their drinks can come iced too if asked! Their pastries are good and I usually get either their egg crossiant sandwich or their toast with fruits and mascarpone cheese (daily toast). The line is usually long in weekend mornings but if you go during the weekdays, it's not too bad at all. Also, it's a small coffee shop so there isn't much seating inside so many people usually get everything to go. Union square is only a few blocks away and it's a perfect spot to enjoy some delicious coffee and breakfast from a lovely cafe that only uses organic products. read more

If you're looking for a bigger breakfast, this is not your place. I had their toast of the day which was a thick slice of bread, toasted with a mildly sweet topping and a ton of fresh fruit. I really enjoyed mine. My husband had the salmon toast which was topped with smoked salmon and onion (think bagels and lox). He was less impressed with his. We also shared a sweet roll which was nothing amazing. On a side note, you should know that this place is TINY!!
