I was looking for something different for lunch on my last day in Harlem and stumbled upon Fieldtrip! The reviews were convincing, so I decided to give it a try. This place was literally a two-minute walk from my aunt's house. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside was nice and spacious with plenty of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I decided to take my order to go. I got the oxtail egg roll and the mambo-glazed roast chicken bowl. The egg roll was not as good as I anticipated. It was missing something, and I can't quite identify what that something was. The bowl did not disappoint, I really enjoyed it! Those crispy Brussels sprouts were the highlight of the bowl! I'll most definitely go back and highly recommend it.

I was here early on during the Field Trip wave and was happy to be part of it. Now I'm back with an updated review, though my visits have become less frequent than in previous years. In short, it seems that recipes, portions, and menu options shift over time in ways that leave customers holding on to the memory of those first great experiences--only to find it has slipped away. For the last five or so visits, the fish (which is the only thing I eat here) has consistently been extremely salty. The last time, I had to throw it away. The balance of rice and vegetables used to be even, but now it's more like 80/20--mostly vegetables. The greens aren't chopped well and are undercooked, making them harder to digest. This isn't a critique of the customer service or the staff, who remain kind and helpful. It's more of a reminder that things change--and not always for the better.

The food came in a nice shopping bag

I had to come back here to eat my favorite rice bowl. This time I decided to dine in with my service pup and I'm so happy I did. The place is so clean and comfortable. The staff is quick and helpful always. I love that no matter how much time passes the food always keeps the taste I love! Next time I go I'll try to order something new just to explore but so far I'm addicted to my choice! HIGHLY recommend coming to this place.

    Chickpea Curry Bowl

I love this fast casual spot in Harlem because they offer a plant based chickpea curry bowl with available toppings like mango mash and pickled onions. We had an event so they made roasted brussels sprouts and baked falafel. What healthy choices for those of us who eat healthful plant options which is not typical in my neigborhood. Staff was super helpful and friendly!

I've been wanting to try Fieldtrip for a while now and it did not disappoint. It is black owned, and operated. My salmon was cooked well and all the vegetables in my bowl were delicious. My son ordered chicken and it was good. Service was great and there were seats inside if you wanted to eat in, but we took ours to go. I look forward to returning, and I would definitely recommend this place. I also would recommend going in and placing your order, Or you can eat there. I tried to call and order in, but that didn't quite work out. Inside seating is fine.

Fresh produce - love a scratch kitchen !!!

I love this place, and keep recommending to friends in Harlem and around NYC. Glad they have adapted to new pressures of COVID-19.

Very delicious. I would go back again. Good flavors at a reasonable price. It's Chipotle style of food in a bowl, but better tasting.

Okay so here is an update : we were in area for only 4 nights and after trying it once for our dinner we kept going back, we were there for 3 times total and tried all the things we wanted to - tried Broadway burrito, linguini Fini Alfredo, vegetable barley soup. For sweets we had vanilla bean pan a cotta and blueberry lemon shortcake and. a cappucino - can you tell we were obsessed with this place???? Everything we ate we licked our plates - so DAMN DELICIOUS.

Since we were there for brunch, I decided to try the P.S. Breakfast ($22) which is tofu scramble, spinach, portobello mushrooms, and corn muffins. My friend got the P.S. Burger ($20) with a gluten-free bun ($2). For the breakfast, the portobello mushrooms were the highlight of the dish. They were very juicy and had strong umami flavor! I love spinach even plain, but I think it could have used a touch more seasoning. The tofu scramble was seasoned, but it could either use more seasoning or more moisture. The corn muffins were dry and crumbly, definitely the worst part of the dish. My friend said that the sauce brought the burger together and hid the fact that it's a Beyond burger. She also mentioned that she didn't feel heavy after eating the burger, which was nice. Despite us telling the restaurant that we had to go to a musical, service was on the slower side. My friend also had to try several times to get to the bathroom, since someone was always inside. However, the staff was friendly and made us feel welcome. I would only recommend P.S. Kitchen if you have a dietary restriction and want a restaurant that has a relaxed ambiance before your Broadway show.

Five flavor plate - a nice amuse-bouche that went through a series of flavors: Hawthorne jelly for sour, yams for sweet - butter melon jelly for bitter, mushroom.and black pepper for spicy, and radish cracker for salty. The bitter melon was my favorite and definitely wasn't that better - it had pleasant spices almost like a chutney. Next was mushrooms in a light cucumber sauce, followed by a savory and thick 18 vegetable soup. This was a nice back to back contrast of light and simple with rich and hearty. The next three courses were aiming to imitate meat a little more. The first was a grilled mushroom over fragrant green millet. Then, sweet and sour tofu skin, and another grilled mushroom covered in a curry sauce. Of these, the tofu skin was my favorite as the bright course in between the savory ones. Next was rice in a savory broth with peach jelly, and then a nutty noodle dish with a smooth and creamy sauce with a nice blend of spices. These helped round out the meal, and the noodles were especially tasty. To end was a dessert made from berries and sweet potato, almost with the texture of ice cream. Reservation is required and the meal is prepaid except for tip. The whole thing came to about $130 each after tax and tip. I found the meal to be less heavy than most other tasting menus and very creative.

Served as a progressive prix fixe menu, dishes arrive one after the other. We started with a delightful five-flavor plate--each bite focusing on a different taste profile--plus cucumber-sauced mushrooms and a grounding Bodhi Buddha soup. Rich matsutake mushrooms and sweet-and-sour riblets followed, paired with bowl-steamed rice and noodles, before finishing with a refreshing sweet potato dessert. Service is smooth. Our server, Hannah, paced the courses briskly and professionally, perfect since we had a show afterward. Still, block out at least an hour and a half to truly enjoy the thoughtfully curated meal.
