This is a very friendly neighborhood hotpot/KBBQ place. There is option to order from set menu items or AYCE. We opted for the AYCE. While the sauce station isn't as expansive as some of the other hot pot places, this place make up for it by allowing 10 items to be ordered at a time using a QR code and a smart phone. And the staff encourages you to order your next 10 items once the first 10 items arrive. They also have a birthday prize wheel so be sure to visit during your birthday week and try your luck on winning some food, a discounted meal or even a free meal. At the conclusion of the meal, we were given a choice of desserts (vanilla ice cream, creme brulee, and grass jelly). The creme brulee just had caramel on top instead of granulated sugar torched and caramelized. So basically custard with flan sauce. The staff was nice, we didn't have to wait for a table. opted for the AYCE hot pot AND kbbq experience. very delicious broth choices and the cuts of meat they have paired well with the grilling and boiling options! the ayce experience also comes with unlimited drinks/soda and a dessert at the end. the ordering system is through a QR code where the website lets you order up to 10 at a time. the ingredients came in in a timely fashion. the grill changes were done upon request. the hotpot stove spot was also keeping the soup at the perfect boil/temp. i will say the sauce bar choices is good for hotpot but not really for kbbq. i wish they had a bit more options to create a good grill sauce like a "cham" sauce. the place had a good amount of seats. i appreciate the ingredients ordered to come in platters and such. the hotpot also came with the ladle for soup and one with wholes to strain just for ingredients! i think i mainly would recommend you to focus on one or the other... im not sure if doing both ayce hotpot and kbbq is the move. it's probably a personal preference bc it honestly became much so i would just warn to be weary of doubling down. i thought it's very valuable though if you're able to eat plentiful and aren't too hung on quality. everything was great, nothing was a standout per say. read more

Like others, I'd probably rate Fiery a solid 3.5 stars (though until Yelp introduces a half-star system, a 4 will have to do!). Nestled in SF's Outer Sunset District, Fiery is a cute spot to go with friends if you can't decide between hotpot or KBBQ. Thankfully, there's an abundance of paid parking right next to the restaurant and throughout the surrounding area. We were seated relatively quickly, and from there, you're given a QR code to order from (though only one device per booth can access it at a time). Each person gets their own individual pot with a broth of their choice, and there's a small sauce station near the front where you can assemble your dipping sauces (though in my opinion, the selection felt a bit limited). Now, I wouldn't call myself a hotpot connoisseur, but compared to the few places I've been to, I'd describe Fiery as a "jack of all trades, master of none." To be clear, Fiery has a solid selection of meats and sides, but most of the food was strictly fine. Good enough to get full on, but not memorable enough to make me want to come back. Especially compared to places like Seapot, I was a little disappointed by the quality of the wagyu--though for the price, I guess I can't complain too much. At the end of our meal, a kind lady offered us complimentary crème brulée while we were paying, which we happily accepted. Unfortunately, when we tried to "crack" the top, we realized it was less crème brulée and more cold caramel pudding from Costco. Oh well. All in all, Fiery is a fine *emphasis on fine* place to go. Your server takes drink and hot pot broth orders, but everything else is super easy to order through the QR code on the table. I was honestly impressed with the meat quality and the overall variety. I really wanted to like this place because it came highly recommended by a foodie friend. Maybe i was there on an off day, but I felt like it overall it was just average. The meat was one of the better parts of the meal. The slices were thicker and looked like they were cut by hand rather than the paper thin style you usually see at other places. It may have been intentional, but it also made me wonder if the machine slicer was not working that day. The vegetables were reasonably fresh and they carried most of the basics we usually order. That said, quite a few items leaned frozen rather than fresh. The shrimp paste for example, i expected the typical fresh paste you scoop and shape into your own meatballs, but it arrived as a frozen, preformed block. The main letdown was the sauce bar. It looked neglected. The cilantro had begun to darken and wilt, and the jalapeños as well. The overall selection was surprisingly limited. Other than soy sauce and a Chinese barbecue sauce that did not look particularly fresh, there was very little to work with. There were no chilies, no hot oil, no leeks, and none of the classic aromatics that make a sauce bar fun and customizable. Even the sesame sauce tasted flat and unseasoned. Service was genuinely solid. Our waiter was friendly, patient, and walked us through how to order since it was our first visit. The QR code ordering system was straightforward and the kitchen sent items out quickly. At about $38 per person for AYCE, the price felt fair, especially since you can do both hot pot and grilling at the same table. The only drawback is the soup setup. Everyone gets their own individual pot rather than sharing a larger pot with two different broths. It is not a huge issue and is actually more hygienic if that matters to you, but it does make it harder to try multiple soup bases as a group. Had a reservation for a large party of 14 and we were seated at the top floor. It wasn't busy on a Monday night so we had many workers attending to us. Service was great the entire night. Food came out quickly, and they were always available to give us refills, change grills, or anything we needed. You order what you want via QR code on your phone. There's a wheel you can spin at the front of the restaurant for your birthday, and my grandma got free A5 Wagyu! We did both the grill and hot pot. I had the medium pork broth which had a good amount of spice and flavor. They had a good selection of meats and veggies, and also appetizer selections (albeit some items were "sold out"). The hot pot meats were pretty good quality. The marinated meats for the grill had good flavor although they leaned on the salty side. Had the AYCE. It's great that they offer grill and hot pot at the same time. Hot pot was 4 stars, soup base was tasty, I chose mild spicy and it was hardly spicy (should have chosen spicy). Wagyu was so so as I can't distinguish it from New Zealand lamb but it tasted similar to other Wagyu hot pot places with deeper flavors. The fish fillet was surprisingly good, usually don't eat it, this one was fresh and firm, seems to be sea bass. Other things like quail eggs and beef tendons and stripes were good quality and provided good variety. The grill was a disaster. They probably haven't figured out how to serve AYCE grills. Meat wasn't marinated enough and not tendered enough, resulting in the usually tender lamb and Wagyu taking a long time to cook, either overcooked or still raw, first time I felt that I don't know how to grill. The teriyaki sauce tasted more like traditional Chinese bbq sauce. Free soda and jelly beans desert which was good. Overall without the grill would have been 4 stars. read more

Fiery pot is my guilty pleasure for AYCE. Clean ambience and chill vibes. Staff can be hit or miss with friendliness, but the food is worth it (plus they added grill meats and drinks to their AYCE!) They have great quality of meat! I recommend getting the house cut wagyu for hotpot and their short ribs for grill. I love that they have an array of sauces that they don't dilute it down. I always get the tomato broth and am never disappointed. The service is usually fast too. The only cons I can think of are they have a strict only 10 item limit, and you might have to check in on your fried items bc they forget at times. For $34/person, we got AYCE hot pot in individual pots (!!!), and there's currently a $6 soju cocktail deal that's unbeatable in the city. The ingredients were so fresh and delicious, from the fries (...lol) to the marbled beef. Our party of nine came in starving and left beyond stuffed. Also -- one of our party has dietary restrictions, and the staff brought out a detailed menu outlining which foods were okay to eat. There wasn't one thing I disliked on the menu. The wagyu meatballs were a highlight that I hadn't seen at other restaurants, and the cocktails were so impressive. We came in an hour before closing and the staff generously let us stay an hour after closing, even offering us dessert as part of the AYCE menu. Tip: You can spin a wheel for a free gift on your birthday week! They have 4 person tables on first level and bigger party tables on the second level. If it's your birthday within a week, there is a big wheel you can spin to get a gift. We did like the chooses of soups they had, personally the roasted tomato and tum yum were very good. The choices in meats were well marinated especially the short rib. There is a promotion of buy 1 soju drink and get 2nd 50% off. I'd give the drinks a 5/10. We had a nice run here. I've written a couple reviews about this place before, but just thought I should update because they've made a major change to their menu. This place used to be our go-to place for hot pot because they had a great set menu - you get to choose your broth, two meats, a handful of veggies/meatballs/etc, and rice or noodles. We recently went back, and now they've changed it so that you still get to choose your broth, you still get to choose two meats, but then you no longer get to choose anything else. So what came was a few pieces of vegetables, and a bunch of fish/shrimp balls we didn't really eat (no subs). You also don't get noodles anymore. The quality of food was still fine, but with this change I don't think we'll be dining here anymore . read more

We made reservations online and they seated us fairly quickly when we got there. I love that we all get our own pot. Their sauce station seemed a bit sparse compared to the other location. The waiter was very helpful. Placed our order right away. We did run into a few issues when we placed our own order through the phone. We ordered: - Rich Pork broth - so good. Very rich tasting - Coconut Curry broth - very flavorful, but the pork is just a tad better. We love their premium meats. We ordered several orders. They even had a deal for us that night that gave us a discount on the price or add the grill option for the same price as just the AYCE hot pot. We were not that hungry so we opted just for the discount, but if we were hungrier it was a good deal to get both. Aside from some ordering issues from the phone, the experience was great overall. EH, i dont know. I've visited this restaurant twice in the past month, hoping to like it, but unfortunately, it hasn't quite hit the mark for me. During my first visit, I came with a group of four on Christmas Eve around 7:45PM. Unsurprisingly, the place was almost full, asian restaurants are always the go to on holidays! They were clearly understaffed, with just two employees running around serving and cleaning tables. It took about 20 minutes for them to clean four tables for the waitlist. Considering it was a holiday, I understand staffing challenges, so I wasn't too bothered by the wait. We opted for the set menu. I chose the tom yum soup base, but it was overly salty and didn't pair well with noodles or rice like I usually prefer. On the other hand, my group enjoyed their pork soup base. The wagyu house cut was a highlight, though. The sauce bar was decent. You can create a good sauce but I wish they offered more variety- I want to be able to use ingredients i don't typically have at home! One small annoyance: the sugar in the container was clumped together, making it impossible to pour. Little things like that could be easily fixed during downtime. During my second visit, I came with a larger group of seven around 7PM. Once again, they seemed understaffed. It appeared they hadn't anticipated opening the upstairs section for larger parties, so we had to wait 20 minutes for them to set up. In my opinion, they should always have the space ready at opening, just in case. On the bright side, the guy who seems to be the owner/manager stepped in to help, which was much appreciated. We went with the AYCE this time. I tried the coconut curry soup base, which I'd recommend BUT stick to mild or no spice. I went with medium spice, and all I could taste was spicy oil, which I had to scoop out. Some others in my party chose the roast beef soup base, but it was too overpowering to enjoy for more than a few bites. They even had to scoop out half the soup base to dilute it with water to make it tolerable. The restaurant filled up quickly after we were seated, but the food came out in a timely manner thanks to their food elevator system. Overall, there are some redeeming qualities here, like the wagyu house cut, pork soup base and the coconut curry soup base, but the inconsistent flavors and lack of preparation/staffing really impacted my experience. While I don't completely rule out coming back, I'd hope to see improvements before giving it another try. read more

Pros (didnt really have any cons) - The staff were friendly and attentive. Quick to answer questions and checked on us often. Everything - from the veggies to the meats - all tasted fresh. Items arrived quickly. Lots of choices and we were stuffed. Fave meats for me were the cumin lamb and wagyu. Loved the watercress and oyster mushrooms. There were a few sweets on the menu, but they also gave us mango sorbet at the end of our meal. It's a 90 minute time limit, and they came over to tell us when our time was almost up. Being new parents, we had dinner pretty early, around 5:30pm and it was already busy. We were able to get the last table! The service is friendly and the food was all very fresh. We ordered the fiery spicy beef broth (medium spice) and the rich pork broth (medium spice) and they were delicious. The medium spice level has a good kick of flavor for the meats and not so spicy that the veggie segment of the meal was unbearable to eat.. rather pleasant actually. Ordering AYCE is through a QR code and they advise to use only one phone so the ordering system doesn't get confused. The raw meat and vegetables came out very quickly. The hot foods took a bit longer and are decent. Nothing from the hot food section is a must try but the season fries were definitely a nice change of pace from all the meat. They wouldn't give us individual pots for hotpot and half of our party had to share the big pot on a gas stove while all the other tables around us had individual pots. We asked to switch tables, they wouldn't let us as well. Service was also very slows, maybe because we were on the 2nd floor and they only came up or checked in when they delivered the food. It took over 20 mins to get our bill. Food wise, they have a variety of options but they weren't the best cuts of meat. For the hotpot broth, we got the pork broth but it had a burnt flavor (before we even started cooking anything). Once seated, we realized the price of AYCE and grill was $43 and did not include drinks (when we called twice, someone over the phone said this price includes everything and the drinks so this was a bit disappointing). Each person gets their own pot with a soup of your choice. I got tom yum soup medium spicy and it's really good! This is the first time I tried tom yum broth and it's really close to authentic tom yum soup (I am Thai). I was going to go with spicy level but decided to just do medium spicy and I am glad for that because their spice level is no joke! You order everything with the phone app through the QR code and you can order 10 items at a time. You can order more after every item arrives at your table. They have a lot of selections and they bring everything out fast which is great. They also gave us one lobster tail each and it was super yummy. The only thing I don't like is their small bowl for us to eat with is pretty small and hard to eat in it. This place is great overall. When you first walk into Fiery, you notice that it is modern, well decorated (including Christmas decorations since it's the holidays!) with clean interiors and very high ceilings. There are two levels of seatings, spacious with plenty of tables. I noticed everyone gets their own individual pot which is nice. We signed into a Yelp wait list even though it wasn't particularly busy on an early Friday night and I saw some tables available. I soon realized why. It was because they are extremely short staff. I saw two servers running around servicing the whole restaurant. We got seated in about 15 mins and given two sets of menu: the set menu or the ACYE menu. We opted for the AYCE hot pot for $38 a person. You can also choose AYCE hot pot & grill for $43 a person. To order, you scan the QR code on the side of your table and can only choose up to 10 items at a time. The first round came out slowly but we got everything. Round 2, I noticed some items including veggies never came. Round 3, half our order did not even make it out. As they got busier and busier throughout the night, items were completely forgotten. Now the broth at Fiery is delicious and full of flavor! I went with mild but you can go all the way up to Fiery if you like it spicy! Mild had a nice kick to it as well. I opted for the Roasted Tomato flavor. The food quality was not bad overall. However the meat quality needs to be improved. Most of the beef had tendons attached. They looked frozen like they just sliced it in the back. The chicken, fish and pork belly was fine but the beef definitely needs higher quality. I think this was a great get together with friends on a cold winters day. It definitely warmed our souls! If they can improve upon the short staff, quality of meats and missing food orders, that would pull this place up to earn some stars! read more
