    Seared Salmon ($34)

Live Fire Restaurant and bar located on the same grounds of The Dana Hotel that serves up a nice mesh of global cuisines refined for American tastes. The Good: *Reservations available via the Yelp app *Happy Hour every day btwn 3-5 p.m. w/ a special mid-day menu to go along with it. *Our server, Madelynn, was really good and attentive. *You have the option to bill your room. *Local brews on-tap as well as a full bar and fermented grapes. *Dog-friendly outdoor seating with views of the harbor and some of the tables have little fires. *Korean wings were surprisingly good, and had a nice sweet and spicy sauce. *Carissa enjoyed her Buddha Bowl that was refreshing and light. The Meh: *Food was good overall but there just a level of refinement the dishes didn't have for a sort of bougie slightly upscale restaurant is trying to present. *My salmon was hammered pretty hard, but luckily the fresh mango salsa saved the day. Coconut rice was OK, but needed more coconut flavor imo, but the asparagus were cooked perfectly and finished with some nice flecks of salt. The Ugly: *Price to portion wasn't great but it was expected. Conclusion: If you're staying at The Dana then the Firefly is a great option to dine at for the convenience factor, but I wouldn't recommend going out of your way here otherwise.

Husband and I stopped just planning to have a drink or two while deciding where to go for brunch. However, thanks to our awesome bartender, Ryan, we ended up having four each! He was friendly, easy to talk to, and made some delicious drinks. Great vibes, great service, and even better cocktails!

First visit here, came in during happy hour. We ordered the Korean Chicken wings and let me tell you, they are fantastic! Packed with flavor! 10 out of 10. We also ordered the Calamari, delicious. One of the best calamari dishes I've tasted here in San Diego. Service was quick, seated outdoors to enjoy the views.

    Great burger and drinks.

A nice solid moderately sized hotel bar and low key lunch spot. The service is nice. Not very busy with plenty of free outside parking in front of hotel. Four large screen TV's. Indoor and outdoor seating. Food and drinks are good. Not much of a scenic view but the hotel surroundings are nice. Definitely will be back.

This is a restaurant and bar located inside the Dana on the bay. They have an outside dining area and a small indoor section as well. I dropped by after checking in and got a few margaritas that were very good. They used brand name liquors and no well junk. I tried their Korean BBQ wings that were amazing!! Perfect hot sweetness with that outside crunch you desire. Had a few drinks outside as well. It's a very good place to unwind with great service!

Pay the extra buck for the New Old Fashioned.... That is unless you are a creature of habit or don't like smoked bourbon.

Excellent service that makes you feel like a king when you clearly are not.. The staff here is always on point and attentive to their guests' needs. Our child was hungry and we had just had dinner, however you need to make sure she's not hungry. Having had been out all day, Mission Bay. Um Duh. We opted on having on site dining even if if was something easily handled by Jack's. We had impromptu tapas. The calamari and KBBQ wings are stellar. I had made an error ordering and my wife had mentioned our kid wanted another item. They made no fuss changing the pasta for the mini corn dogs. Love this place and the Dana will be back soon.

Excellent! We went for dinner once during our hotel stay and visited the bar a couple times as well. Service is very good. Very comfortable inside with plenty of room to move around. We ordered the garlic bread, wedge salad, hamburger protein style and the short ribs. Everything was very tasty and great quality.

Ain't gonna rain on my parade!

Giving a generous 3. Generous. I can get into my signature Yelp-y review, but the long and the short of it is this place has mediocre service and really bland food. The experience on the patio with the fire pit was lovely, but it took so long to get our cocktails - prior to ordering food - that our ice water had melted into tepid water before the drinks made their way outside. It was somewhat busy, but a hotel restaurant close to a larger hotel hosting conventions needs to know how to handle that. My coworker and I split the beet salad, coconut shrimp and cheese flatbread. All three were bland and unremarkable. Overcooked beets, but a good dressing. Shrimp was meh. Flatbread was mushy on top, and totally burned on the bottom. Our server was nice enough but either spread too thin or just not on the ball. Either way it was not great. Way underwhelmed.

    Relaxed family reunion.

This restaurant really Wowed me! From the moment I was welcome at the reception podium, the staff was very friendly and soooo accommodating! We sat outside where we were able to being our dogs, which they also brought water for the dogs. Because it was a bit chilly being by the water, we were invited to sit at a table with a fireplace and they adjusted the flame to our desired level. Our waitress came back quite often and was always there at the right time. I had the soup of the day which was quite filling so I never got to order the clam chowder. Draft beer prices were lower than expected and the fish and chips was quite possibly the best I've had because the beer batter was thin and tasty as well as the fish being moist & perfectly prepared. The fries were also perfect and not too crunchy so very easy to eat and we enjoyed the seasonings. We had eaten at the Marine Room the previous evening and Firefly Eatery was by far the better choice at 1/4 the price. This restaurant is truly a gem and so desirable they had a wedding party during our visit for lunch. Well done friends at Firefly. We will be back when we visit your beautiful town next time. Mahalo

    Happy hour at the firefly!

Ordering a $15 sandwich I expect someone to make it. I didn't expect a Pre made sandwich from a fridge with a bag of chips.

Appetizers were served in about 5 minutes. Crispy Calamari was one of the best we've had. Crispy with a balsamic like dipping sauce. Ahi Tuna & Salmon Poke was delicious as well. Everything was fresh! Seafood Fettuccine was great as well; it's just that the mussels were on the smaller side, as if it was a peanut size. The place was nice and cozy, especially its location by the bay. Been here years ago with better experience. Will avoid ordering their old fashioned, might be the worse one I've ever had. Will order another cocktail next time. Overall, it's a great place to celebrate any special occasion. We were here for our 10 year anniversary.

This place exceeded every one of them. Nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood, Wolf in the Woods feels like a hidden European café you'd stumble upon while traveling. Sitting outside beneath the umbrellas with a cocktail, watching the neighborhood stroll by. It felt like a little corner cafe in Paris. Then the food arrived. Every plate was beautifully presented, but the real magic was in the creativity of the flavors. The combinations were unexpected, yet every one worked. Every dish had me wondering how on earth someone came up with these pairings in the first place. The Sweet Corn & Piñon Soup deserves a standing ovation. We literally stopped talking after the first spoonful. Rich, savory, slightly sweet, comforting and completely unexpected all at the same time. Both of our eyes rolled back in our heads. The Beef Tataki completely surprised me. The outside had a delicate seared crust, the inside cut like butter, and the citrus pairing made me rethink what flavors belong together. And the mushroom and polenta dish? The mushrooms had an incredible texture--like savory little pieces of mushroom jerky. I would have happily bought a pound of them just to snack on. Every dish felt like it was taking me somewhere I'd never been before, yet somehow felt familiar at the same time. Wolf in the Woods creates an unforgettable experience.

Instead of simply assigning us a table, she went above and beyond by letting us choose the one we liked. Her attitude was warm, welcoming, and set the tone for what we hoped would be a great brunch. Unfortunately, our server, Conner, wasn't as welcoming. We upgraded to the bottomless mimosas, but every refill required us to flag her down. My brother and I each had around four mimosas, and not a single refill was offered proactively. It honestly felt like every pour was being rationed, as if the bottles were coming out of her own pocket instead of being part of the service we had already paid for. The most disappointing moment came when I flagged her down for one final refill. She told me, "I'm sorry, bottomless mimosas end at 3:00." I looked at the time...it was 3:02 p.m. After spending the entire meal chasing our server for refills, being denied over a two minute difference felt incredibly petty and left a bad impression. Because of the level of service, I chose not to tip waitress Conner. Instead, I gave my tip to the hostess and Mrs. Danielle because that's who genuinely elevated our experience. What surprised me most was Conner's reaction after noticing this, rather than handling it professionally, she visibly became upset, creating an awkward ending to what should have been a relaxing brunch. Literal tantrum. In public. Mrs. Danielle immediately stepped in, apologized, and handled the situation with professionalism and grace. She completely salvaged the experience, and she's the reason we'll be willing to come back. The view was BEAUTIFUL. I hope management recognizes how valuable employees like the hostess & Mrs. Danielle are. At the same time, I hope Conner receives coaching on attentive service and professionalism, because the contrast between the two was impossible to miss. As someone is the service department, those two minutes were negligible.

We came back recently for a nice dinner with my mom and again I was impressed! Their menu changes and this time I enjoyed the chicken roulade dish that came with cauliflower puree and succotash. The chicken was seasoned well and very tender. The purée made the dish though. My mom got their chicken kabob and I sampled some. Another winning dish. Chicken was not overcooked, the sauce and flavor were amazing, and the fresh baked garlic pita bread was phenomenal. My husband enjoyed a steak. House sourdough, and yodel dessert were good. I appreciate the interior. It's rustic, but also very upscale. It's a big open space and it's not super quiet inside, but not too loud that you can't hear people at your table, and you can't hear other tables conversations. I can tell they put a lot of thought into this by having porous walls and structures or decor that break up any echoing. The music was the perfect volume as well. Our waitress, Cassidy, was so nice and knowledgeable of the menu. She explained it in detail and went over the differences with the dish sizes. She also made a great recommendation on the Pinot Noir wine. It met the flavor profiles I enjoy with wine. She came back and checked on us, but not too often. The other staff were great too! I do have to note that at one point in the night, there was a lady dressed in a suit (I'm guessing a manager) that was following the waitresses every move. I'm not sure if maybe she is in training or there was some sort of review process happening but I found it awkward. I got "micromanager" vibes. Overall a great experience! It's fine dining and pricey, but is good for special occasions. I would recommend dressing at least semi-nice, but it's not a requirement.

My professional verdict: HTP has, by far, one of the best **home-cooked meal vibes and flavors in San Diego**. Harbor Town Pub is a true San Diego Padres bar--*bar none*--but it's also much more than that. It's where Point Loma locals gather, along with visitors who want to experience what a genuine San Diego pub should be--and is. Every guest is greeted with an enthusiastic **"Welcome in!"**, and every departure receives a heartfelt **"Thaaaaank youuuu!"** That kind of warmth sets the tone immediately. The staff brings tremendous energy, and management is wonderful. If you're in the mood for craft cocktails, ask for **Blossom or Joel**. They're true masters of both classic and creative cocktails. The pub is family-friendly, with free movie-theater-style popcorn, bottomless coffee during brunch, and eight big-screen TVs showing all the sports action. Military members, fishermen, boat captains, locals, and tourists all seem to find their way here--and nobody ever seems to have a dull moment. One especially meaningful touch: I designed a Padres sticker, and the team placed it on the back wall near the beer taps. That perfectly captures the spirit of Harbor Town Pub: welcoming, community-minded, proudly local, and full of personality. **If you want great food, genuine hospitality, Padres pride, and the authentic energy of a San Diego neighborhood pub, Harbor Town Pub is a must-visit.**

There is a "happy hour" on Monday but it's called Ouster Monday, oysters are $1 and they have different specials that are not offered on the normal happy hour. Got the crispy chicken wings, Wagyu longaniza, and burger The chicken wings were very crispy and came topped with a jalapeño relish. The relish had a citrusy taste to it or maybe it was the liquid from the pickled jalapeños. I liked the crispness of the chicken but I think the relish was too acidic for me. The Wagyu longaniza was my favorite, very strong beefy flavor. It came on top of salsa matcha which i thought was very tasty so much that I dipped the wings and burger in the sauce. The slice of radish on top gave it a nice texture and crunch. I see the Wagyu hotdog is offered on the oyster Monday special so I'm gonna have to come back and try that for sure. The burger was cooked nicely, medium as requested. It came topped with an egg, truffled onion jam, and cheddar cheese. The bun was nicely toasted and the egg and cheese added a nice rich element to it but I didn't care for the onion jam, it gave the burger an overall sweet profile. I'd simply ask for it without next time. Over all a solid burger, maybe I'd add bacon too. I also had a margarita which was on happy hour special. I asked for it to be spicy and they added a tajin rim which was nice. Spicy and refreshing! Parking is all on the street so I had to part a few blocks away. Overall a solid happy hour. I'll be back on Oyster Monday for the hot dog and fish collars.
