Bar area is first come, first serve which is nice as it is pretty large with tables and they will let you push 2 two tops together. They also have dining room and outdoor seating. The cocktail menu is fun and eclectic. It is all tapas which provide enough for 2-3 ppl to each have a decent taste. You order and it comes out as ready. Their bread and flavored butter is free and super tasty. My fave items we got were scallops and octopus. The potatoes bravas were standard and tasted fine. We also got stuffed peppers with goat cheese, I enjoyed them but if I were in town and went again I would try something else. My colleagues enjoyed the lamb chops and stuffed dates. It is just off the strip by The Virgin, this means better pricing and easier to get into. Huge parking lot with no charge. We walked in on a Fri nt at 6:15pm'ish and got bar tables with no wait, but they do take reservations. No separate checks, but you can use a few cards to pay the bill. Enjoy! read more

It's been a few years since we have been to Firefly for tapas during our Vegas trips. Last time was when they were still on Paradise. Their new location is larger and more roomy and overall lighter. We had reservations for 6pm but didn't realize they had happy hour that ended at 6pm. We got there early and able to get seated. Our server notified us about happy hour pointing out the available items for happy hour. We ordered a couple of the items - we would have gotten them off the regular menu if there was no happy hour. Getting our drinks and the first items we ordered took some time - another server came by to check and made our drinks. There was a large party in the other room that may have slowed the service but this is a tapas place so we were expecting a more relaxed experience. All the tapas we had were delicious. This restaurant was the biggest disappointment in Vegas. I had high expectations based on previous reviews and all of the tapas were between subpar and mediocre. Even the potatoes in the tapas were mediocre. The Sangria was drinkable but also mediocre. The ambiance inside is nice, and earns it an extra star. We sat outside in a very festive patio area with Latin music to accompany our meal. The food? WOW!!! Came here for the first time a few weeks back and it was absolutely phenomenal. Will definitely be back if I'm in Vegas again. Every dish we ordered was great - came out quick, super flavorful, wonderful textures. Food highlights: Pulpo asado - grilled octopus, super juicy and tender Calamari - not much to say about calamari, but it was good calamari Lamb chops - wow, super juicy, cooked exactly to a nice medium-rare Mixed paella - a flavor smorgasbord of rice, seafood, chorizo, chicken, etc. Food Ehhh: Tierra y Mar skewers - unfortunately a slight miss. The chorizo and filet mignon chunks were both a bit overcooked and dried out. Shrimp was fantastic though. Drinks: Sangria - strikes a nice balance of sweet and fruity without being overly sugary. A Spanish tapas must when you're in Vegas! Firefly's is just a bit off the strip, but worth making a trip to. If I'm being honest, a lot of the great places to eat at are off the strip, and firefly's is a place to check out. I came here for the first time since my boyfriend and his sister are always talking about it and so glad they took me here! We visited on a Sunday night and it wasn't too crowded. We made reservations just in case, knowing the place can get busy, but when we came, we got seated very quickly. Here's what we ordered: Tuna taretare, avocado toasties, stuffed dates, patatas bravas, manchego Mac n cheese, Tierra y skewers, and a few other tapas! Everything was so good and portions were great between 3 people. Our favorite tapas dish was the stuffed dates - cooked to perfection! I also really thought the complimentary bread and salmon butter was really good LOL I had to stop by myself from eating all of it to make room for the actual tapas. I used to hit up their original location on Paradise at least once a week when I worked across the street because who doesn't want an excuse for endless tapas? It was my go-to spot after a long day--tapas therapy, if you will. Let me tell you, everything I've ever tried on their menu has been nothing short of phenomenal. The Tierra y Mar skewers- they are perfectly balanced with tender meat and succulent seafood grilled to perfection. Then there's the ceviche- so fresh and citrusy, it's a refreshing mix of citrus and seafood that's ideal. I know the artichoke toast gets a lot of hype and for good reason too. It's a twist on the traditional avocado toast. Like artichoke? Whoever thought that up was a genius. And the bacon-wrapped dates. Oh, come on--sweet, salty, smoky... it's a flavor explosion wrapped in bacon. What more could you ask for? I was stoked when they added the mushroom tarts to the menu. They're flaky, buttery, and filled with savory mushroom goodness, making it impossible to have just one. And if you're not finishing your meal with their Tres Leches cake, are you even dining at Firefly? It's moist, sweet perfection that'll make you wonder why you don't eat dessert after every meal. We have eaten at all the firefly restaurants over the years and this new location in Hughes Center. It's in the former McCormick & Schmick's restaurant. Let's talk about ambiance & decor. This new building is bright, it's so clean & crisp. The window's definitely add light which makes it inviting. They've chosen a beautiful color scheme. The service was excellent. We set in the bar area. It wasn't loud it was nice. The bartender server was very nice. They now seem to wear more casual clothing that seems nice. Why I couldn't give 5 stars is the food quality wasn't as good as what we've come to know, love & expect from Firefly. My husband ordered the petite filet. It was very tough & had lots of gristles & fat. Normally he is able to cut it with a fork. I ordered the chicken skewers. The sauce was good, the chicken was dry & flavorless. The dates were as good as they always are. I swear I could eat plates of them. I'm pretty sure that's why I keep going back year after year. This is the second Firefly location I've been to and both times were good experiences, definitely a place I'd come back to if wanting tapas in Vegas. I do think the food and probably even experience was better at their other location but this one is easier to make reservations at and is kind of a nicer space. I do think things overall were closer to 3 and a half stars - service really lagged at times (at the beginning and end of the meal especially) and the paella was pretty terrible which is wild to me for a tapas place. Could be a fluke but it just didn't have a ton of flavor, the bottom lacked the crispy soccarat that makes a good paella, and I wished we had skipped this for more tapas. They seated us despite half of our party of 6 being super late but didn't really come by to see if we wanted anything for a long time which I found a bit odd- we ended up having to flag someone down to order a few things even though everyone wasn't there. I get that people might want to wait for the whole party but would have appreciated a more proactive check in. We ended up getting: - complimentary bread w/ almond butter (this was incredible at their other location but just ok here, still a nice complimentary bread service) - Golden beet salad- nothing mind blowing but if you like beats and goat cheese it's a good order - Stuffed dates: classic Spanish dish and these were delicious especially the red wine reduction on the bottom (which we ended up dipping many other things including the bread in) and we also got a 2nd order - Patatas bravas: another classic and it was good, a lot of places mess this up but this one was enjoyable - Camarones al ajilo: delicious but I think it was a little small for the price (also 1 piece of crostini with it was hilarious but luckily we had the other bread). I thought the shrimp was maybe a tad overcooked but still tasty - Chicken tinga empanadas: these were alright. Our waiter said there would be 2 so we got 2 orders but these ended up being massive and 6 people probably could have shared 1 order. They ended up being nice and filling but I would maybe try another one of the hot tapas in the future - Albondigas: I didn't eat these as I was pretty full but I heard they were good - Mixed paella: So at $42, I think this is actually a pretty good price for the portion. But it just wasn't very good - we ended up taking most of it to go and nobody was very interested in the leftovers. I've definitely had better. No idea if it was an off day but I would skip this. And it does take the full 40 minutes to come out . -Churros: our waiter made this sound like it would be small and it ended up being 6 huge churros. It was pretty funny because we were definitely not expecting that. They have a bunch of good sounding desserts but if you're in a group this might be the one to get. We also got the gelato trio; I enjoyed the chocolate one. - Drinks: We got a pitcher of passion fruit mojitos ($35 for 4+ glasses, would recommend) and a couple of gin and tonics; all of these were great and one of the reasons I rounded up. And service during the meal itself was pretty good. The other reason I round up is for all the food, drinks, and a decent amount of leftovers it was about $300 including the included 20% gratuity for 6 people which felt very reasonable for the amount of food we ate and drank. Service was weird at the end of our meal too, it took quite a while to get our check (like 10+ minutes or more) and we were literally just sitting around with our waiter no where to be seen. Maybe he took a break or something but it was odd timing and it would have been nice if someone else brought it to us. I'd probably opt for a few different things if I came back but would definitely get the stuffed dates, patatas bravas, maybe the garlic shrimp, and maybe the desserts (though they do have a bunch of other desserts that also look great). Their brunch sounds pretty interesting too. Definitely not the best tapas I've had but it was solid and a nice time, 3.5 stars. read more

I've been to Firefly three times now! The first time was for a more formal setting for my birthday, second time was for a more casual setting and the third was for a business dinner. I'm glad that I've been able to experience this restaurant in different settings. The restaurant for me gives off a warm and cozy vibe. The colors of red, orange and black---truly embraces their name firefly. The restaurant surrounds a centered bar. Upbeat music plays throughout. More intimate setting surrounding the bar. They can sit big groups. Their outside patio area is also cute with lighting above. The food is fantastic. Tapas are tiny plates that are meant to be shared. Each plate is of a small portion. This place isnt the engulf your meal in 30 second. It's truly savor the flavor. Close your eyes, let the food touch your tongue and appreciate the flavors of the dish. Honestly though, the only way to appreciate the food is to not chew fast. It's also important to order with friends. Coordinate the dishes so yall are trying different things. It's pretty fun with a small group. One option you can order is a paella which is pretty big. But keep in mind-those things take like 45minutes to make. So order that first and get some drinks! They have delicious sangria as well. And it's fun to sit at the bar before you get seated or if you're waiting for your entire party to arrive. My family and I (4) of us have eaten at this location for many years. And even their old location. So you could say we have tried many of there tapa dishes. We were there last night and a little disappointed that their menu have shrunk. Limited amount of choices. We ordered 13 different dishes and what was really disappointing was the timing of all our dishes came out. The salads(2) and 2-3 hot dishes came out together. It was very hard to enjoy the cold salad then try to eat the warm dishes before they got cold and vice versa. I guess you could say that if they could have paced out the dishes, we could have enjoyed it much more. And also not feel rushed. Over all the food was good. We also had the skewers with shrimp, filet, and chorizo... delish! The Mac n cheese, Serrano ham and manchengo cheese, and the beet salad. All were absolutely delicious! We had tres leche cake and bread pudding for dessert, and our neighbors shared their sorbet and gelato... amazing! The drinks were delish, service was stellar, and it's a beautiful restaurant! Firefly is one of our go-to spots when we have friends visiting Vegas. It has options for everyone and is close to the strip without the strip pricing. It's been awhile since we had been, but it's just as good as ever. We tried to make reservations but the hostess said she couldn't promise anything. We thought that was weird, but decided to call when we were about 10 minutes away and she said the wait was only 20 min, so we popped in and got a table quickly on the patio. It was a nice night to sit outside so we were all happy with it! We started with a sangria pitcher - one of my favorite things on their menu. Parking lost requires valet at 3pm. Luckily we arrived at 1:30. The restaurant is lovely. Spacious rooms with beautiful decor and comfy seats. The bathrooms were clean and stocked. Upon arriving we were seated right away. And given water immediately. It was a bit of a wait for a server to come by. I ordered the ahi tuna skewers. And the firefly tai cocktail. I appreciate that the server asked if we had any allergies, which I do. Walnut, almonds, and pecans. Our food took awhile to come out which was weird because the place wasn't very busy at all. They were getting ready for their grand opening night so maybe that's why. The skewer was so delicious! Definitely recommend the ahi fun skewers, they had a perfect touch of sauce, and they were turned perfectly. My only concern was that o really do hate guacamole. I didn't mention that to the server because on the menu when it said what came with the skewers, guacamole sauce wasn't mentioned at all. So a bit disappointed when it was all over my skewers but I just wiped it off. I was also somewhat bothered that when bread was brought to us so was a small plate with a different looking butter. I tried a small amount, didn't care for it. A few minutes later the server comes by and tells me this other butter is actually almond butter lol Not sure why he let it be brought to the table after we had discussed my allergies. Bread was delicious, the skewers were super tasty. Now my cocktail, 10/10 recommend. Everything was great, the place is very lovely, buss boys come around often to refill our waters. We arrived and the parking situation was confusing. Our waiter was friendly and attentive suggesting that we order our paella first along with drinks to allow for the time for cooking. He was also able to provide us with portion sizes when we asked and cleared the table as needed to make room for more. So we ordered a whole series of tapas for sharing at the table.
