Love this place. On the way home from the gym. So occasionally come in for the Under 500 Cal menu items. Super tasty and not to hard on the calorie budget. Cannot say enough nice things about the night manager- Terrance. He is seriously the best. Remembers my order, has walked me to the door and my car on several occasions when my hands were full, and makes a genuine effort. He is great! This is a great option for lunch if you work in the area. Huge new space and lots of hot sandwich options. I got a large smokehouse beef & cheddar brisket and it was really good and filling. They really pile on the meat, so unless you're super hungry, a medium is probably ok. I had to retreat to Starbucks afterwards to get some coffee to battle the food coma. ;P As other people have mentioned, it does get crowded very quickly at lunch time and the tables get filled. They do have a few tables outside and you can also order online (which I may try next time). Go early to beat the rush. read more

Tasty - and a good selection of SUBS I hate the fact in my area (Fremont industry) there isn't a huge amount of variety that's good quality, and there certainly isn't variety of sub or sammich places. This place is a good change from the norm. I got a large something something Roast beef and ordered as they make it, no mods. It was very tasty. This is more of a"sub" place and not a "california sandwich 'deli'" which is nice. It's not the cheapest but still good. Service was also friendly. I tried Firehouse Subs for the 1st time today, and was pleasantly surprised. My family and I got there in the early evening when it was quiet. From ordering the food to having it served to us took less than 15 minutes, and it was hot ! We ate a Sweet Thai chile pork sub combo and two Club on a Sub sandwich combos (comes with chips and a drink. Standard for any restaurant combo). The food and service are terrific and we will gladly go again ! The only things that keep me from giving FS five stars are the price and the portion size, both of which are huge ! Comparable deli restaurants are cheaper while serving about the same size sandwich. But, FS clearly makes everything fresh ! They also offer salads if you're looking for lighter fare. If you're willing to spend an extra 8-10 bucks, Firehouse Subs is worth the drive and the time ! read more

Yup, freestyle Coke soda foundation is as amazing as it sounds... and obv. works perfectly with the subs. Went here just a few days after they opened. They had plenty of staff on hand; the ones that I communicated with were all very helpful and friendly, from explaining the options to a n00b, to the nice lady at the counter that asked us if we wanted our large sub cut and split onto to plates, since we were splitting it. It's the little things that count. Also, since Firehouse Subs was founded by firemen, it was actually cool to see all the local art that was used to decorate the restaurant, from the large mural of a firetruck in front of Mission San Jose, to all the photos with the Fremont Fire Department. Their sandwiches are amazing! My go to is the turkey bacon and ranch. The meatball one is also delicious. The staff here is A+. They have amazing customer service. When you order in your food is brought out to your table. I often see at least one worker cleaning up and wiping down tables. This is one of my favorite sandwich shops to eat at. read more

The staff is very friendly and they're great with kids. Brought my daughter in once and they gave her a fireman hat I thought it was so cute that they did that. Had a turkey sub thought it would be like Ike's but there's no variety or great taste here. The turkey meat tasted like packaged meat not even deli meat quality. No avocados or other fresher items to build out your sandwich. Kid got grill cheese which was ok but you can tell about quality when you get a packaged processed rice crispy treat instead of made in the store. Subways have higher quality food. read more

Lunch here today. Hubby got the sriracha burger and I got the Hook and Ladder salad. Husband said he liked his sriracha burger very much. My salad was great! I was worried the ham and turkey would be too big of chunks, so I got a knife in case this was the situation. But the meat was sliced (like cold cuts) - it's much better than it sounds. So no knife needed. Salad was well dressed with Italian dressing, and the kalamata olives were great. I particularly appreciated that the cheese and some other veggies were cut into tiny dice, so it was really easy to eat my lunch (no long strings of bell pepper to navigate)! The staff was fantastic. Definitely a million times better than Subway! Sandwiches are warm and toasty. Bread is soft and has a crunchy exterior. They don't skimp out on the meat either. Tried the cheddar and brisket and also the Firehouse sub special... the cheddar and brisket was alright, but the other sandwich was REALLY good. I wish I remembered the actual name of it... it had brisket AND pastrami on it. They gave my kid a fireman hat. Super cute! They also have that cool soda machine that gives you a crapload of options. Service was good. It was pretty quiet when we came here, but they have the TVs on. They have a pretty extensive menu, so I can't wait to come back and try some of their other sandwiches! read more

First time here and just gotta start off with how friendly everyone here is! Especially Ryan L.! We were outside looking at the menu for a few minutes and he came out to greet us. Gave us some more details about their subs, future items, and a bit about the business itself. We ordered a Large Firehouse Hero Combo and it was DELICIOUS! We love their sandwiches but we wont be returning. There has been a mistake each of of the last four visits that we've gone. This time we ordered 3 kids meal sandwiches and only received 2, the time before last we got two sandwiches that were not what we ordered, we were shorted sandwich three times ago, & 4 visits ago we were actually given one extra sandwich but even with that bonus our order wasn't right so we didn't get the sandwiches that we wanted. IF you're going to eat here make sure you eat in so you can catch their mistakes before you drive all the way home and find out that you don't have what you ordered. I have to do an update for this place. We were in today and the man that helped us really went above and beyond. I mean there's customer service and then there's customer appreciation, and we were not just "served" today, we were "appreciated." Because of this, I became a loyal Firehouse customer. I am willing to drive from San Jose to Fremont to come to Firehouse. The man that helped us (didn't get his name but I think he was a manager/possibly owner) made us a couple of french dip sandwiches even though they don't have them on the menu. On top of that, he got a high chair for my 4 month old and stood by to make sure it was ok for her. Then, on top of THAT he told my wife he'd make a french dip for us any time. I think this may have been the best treatment I have ever had at a place. Oh, and the sandwiches were great. Better than Joe's Buffet in Fairfield (for those of you who are french dip aficionados). Because of this, I am willing to swear off other sub places and drive a little extra to come to Firehouse. read more

Decided to try out Firehouse Subs since I always wanted to try it. Walked in and it has a firehouse feel to the place. Upon reading the reviews I heard you get a big "Welcome to Firehouse Subs", didn't get that. I also expected a lot more sandwich options, but that was disappointing. Togo's has more options then this place. I got the #5 ; the Italian. It was good I can give them that. But for a large sandwich, chips and a large drink for $14, that's a little overpriced. Overall, if you are looking for a new sandwich place and are in Fremont; go check out firehouse subs. Everybody has their own opinion on each place. Maybe your visit is better then mine. 4/5 starts. Well, just charged down my first firehouse sub sandwich and it was absolutely amazing! I orders the turkey, bacon ranch and holy moly that thing was good! The bread was soft and the ranch ratio was just right. I added the house hot sauce (specialty of firehouse subs) and it just added to the enjoyment of my sandwich.
