The line went by super slow. One register and one cook. Def come early esp if you are trying to maximize your every 90 mins dining option. Opted for their 1/4 chicken, 1/4 ribs with corn. One of the best values from the meal plan. The chicken was okay but the ribs were really tough. The corn was nicely charred. They offered bosenberry butter at the pick up station. Didn't taste much of the berry when slathered onto the corn - but didn't hurt to try. Overpriced for normal dining but a must stop if you have the all day dining pass. read more

The only thing that really sucks here is there are no Lids for your drinks so there's always a potential to spill your drinks. They offer a few options from chicken to ribs to steak sandwiches to name a few most of which come with a side or two which I usually choose the ear of corn or the baked potato because they both are super good as they throw the ear of corn on the grill for a bit to give it some char marks for added flavor! The BBQ ribs are super tender full of meat with a delicious BBQ flavor and pretty much fall off the bone every time which rocks because I've found this to be consistent each visit as well which is definitely what you want to hear when your eating inside a theme park! The BBQ chicken is also really good as well as it's just as tender and delicious as the ribs which it just goes well with when you get the half and half combo! During the Boysenberry Festival this is your place to get the delicious boysenberry BBQ that is quite good and a must get during that time as you can get the boysenberry BBQ sauce as well as some boysenberry butter for your corn or baked potato and to top it off you can get their delicious boysenberry punch that's available year around! The BBQ during the regular months here is just as good as what you find at the festival as the sauce they use is quite yummy and just goes super well with the meats! The Steak Sandwich was also pretty darn good too as it had a good amount of meat on it with some tomatoes and onion as well as just the right amount of their savory BBQ sauce to set it all right! It's not garlicky, it's not cheesy, it's just buttered stale bread and it sucks. We thought they made a mistake cause on the menu it says garlic bread and under sides it says garlic cheese bread. The worker said "the spread has garlic and cheese in it" this made me lol. You're better off getting the corn or the baked potato cause not only does it taste better but it'll fill you up more. Located in the Ghost Town area (across from Birdcage Theatre) at Knotts Berry Farm, this place offers some grill-to-order BBQ at inflated theme park prices. Chicken, hot dogs, turkey legs and beef are on the menu. I ordered the flank steak sandwich. It took about 5 minutes for the beef to be grilled and sandwich prepared (with slices of tomato and shredded lettuce). The meat was good but rather sparse; there was far too much bun bread in relation to the meat. The barbecue sauce was delicious but the overall sandwich was ruined by some sort of spread on the bread that was far too spicy. After a couple bites my eyes were watering and nose running; my tongue literally became numb for half an hour. I'm an admitted spice wimp but even my wife, who loves spicy hot food, said it was too spicy and decided to save my life and tossed the bun aside. I'm not sure if it was an anomaly but based on my experience I'd say avoid the steak sandwich unless you can tolerate serious heat. read more

Cry babies are going to cry, so ignore a good 50% of any negative reviews you ever hear in regards to food at a theme park. You're not coming to places like these to get the greatest dining experience of your life. You already know this coming in, and you also know that you'll most likely find yourself waiting outdoor in the hot sun standing next to sweaty people who smell as though they haven't bathed in weeks. The lines will be be hell, and the area you eat at will most likely involve a round concrete bench with a tree in the middle. You'd be so lucky to find one on it's busiest days. If this doesn't appeal to you, and you want faster, better service, then I'd recommend you go back to your car and drive you and your family to your local Morton's Steakhouse. I personally have been enjoying Fireman's Brigade for over 30 years. More so in it's early years when they offered a more complete meal with their combination dishes, but still a great experience each time I've gone. The main entrees pork and chicken are my go to dishes so I'd recommend these items. As for the sides, most are your typical beans and corn on the cobb with nothing too extraordinary, but the garlic bread is quite wonderful, and expensive at $4, but again, it's a theme park. You're not here as a financial investment looking for ways to save money for your sons college fund. Overall, as theme park foods go, this place has always given me a good experience, so much that I look forward to going here every time I go Knott's Berry Farm. This is a nice little setup with an open grill cooking ribs, chicken, turkey legs, sausage, hot dogs, corn, and flank steak. The prices are pretty high, but if you do the all day dining, it not too bad. You can buy the all day dining on the knotts app, or just buy it in person when ordering your food (I recommend buying as you order. as the app needs work). I bought the steak sandwich with corn as my side. I don't like steak sandwiches, as I'm not a sandwich person, but this was realllly good. The steak is outstanding, seasoned really, really good. This was some of the most flavorful steak I can recall ever eating. It beat anything I've had in restaurants, steakhouses, fancy vegas buffets, bbq joints, etc. It tasted delicious! Mind you, we pulled the steak out and ate then piece by piece they were so good. Super slow service at the ordering counter and today was a super slow day at the park, too. Ordered the flank steak sandwich and it was surprisingly tasty. Just ask for them to go light on the sauce (and watch them to make sure), unless you like your sandwich drenched. The sauce they slather on is a little spicy so if you don't like spicy, go without and just ask for the BBQ sauce only. The bag of chips that comes with your sandwich is a good sized bag which is nice. (Btw... if you prepay for the single day meal plan that comes with a drink, you only get one side if you order the BBQ chicken (not the cole slaw or toast as listed with the full priced meal.). Aside from the 30 min long line we ordered the skirt steak sandwich with BBQ corn on cob and chips, and the 1/4 chicken and ribs with baked potato garlic cheese toast. I was ready to eat after a morning of roller coaster rides and the steak sandwich was a bit dry until I dressed it with mayo and BBQ sauce. The chicken and ribs were tasty and definitely what I will get next time. The sides were ok but not worth spending money on if they don't come with your order. Drinks are 5 bucks each so I bought an unlimited drink cup $15 for the day and for season pass holders $32 for the year. The bummer is you have to wait 15 min before each refill AND you have to wait in line for your refill. Total waste of time for the money in my opinion. All the dining options at Knott's are overpriced, but at $15+ for a meal you always hope you'll be getting good food. Unfortunately (although not suprisingly), that wasn't the case here. Seating here is outside, and if you come at the right time you can enjoy the down-home, corny "Songs of the Old West" show at the Fireman's Barbecue Stage. A meal includes a quarter chicken or pork ribs with a baked potato, cole slaw, and garlic bread. Chicken: The BBQ chicken is probably the best thing they have here. It's tender and moist. It would be nice if they gave you a little BBQ sauce on the side as I didn't really want to eat the skin. Pork ribs: Some of the ribs were easy to pull off the bone and tender, but other portions were dry and chewy yet super fatty (more like rib tips than spare ribs or baby backs). The ribs are pre-sauced and cut so you're not necessarily getting ribs that would normally be next to each other. Baked potato: The potatoes are nice and hot, but you have to squeeze out sour cream if you want it, and there aren't really other options (such as chives, bacon, cheese, etc.). For a theme park BBQ place, Fireman's Barbecue really does not disappoint! Everything here is amazing! For only about $12, you can get a meal that consists of: an entree of your choice (ribs, bbq chicken, etc.), a baked potato, cole slaw, and a slice of garlic bread. You can add baked beans if you want. This is another one of those places at Knott's that everyone walks past, but there is hardly ever a line. As you walk through Ghost Town past the Bird Cage Theater, you can smell the delicious aroma of barbecue sauce and ribs wafting through the air. I have devised a plan where you can feed 2 people for $20, so here it is: order one full meal (the thing I stated above; about $12). Order another entree, by itself, a baked potato by itself, and another piece of bread. You can share anything you want of course, but this seems to work out well for me. You can also get barbecue on the other side of the park at "Boardwalk Barbecue" (formerly 'Angel's Diner'). Wherever in the park you decide to get bbq, make sure to get some of the little handiwipes and lots of napkins!! read more
