I had to give this place a second chance and I'm glad I did. The food was really good and there is a good variety on the menu. The service was just right and I will put this establishment on my list of "thumbs up" restaurants in Baytown. The waffles and french toast are very delicious and the bacon was nice and crispy. Ok I was very excited to try this restaurant out but if it takes almost 30 min to get a salmon covered bagel and you close in 30 min as well, it is a waste! The excuse was " it slowed down!" The staff here is always friendly. My favorite is Peaches. The coffee is hot and is excellent! The food tastes great but is a little expensive for the food portions. I come early on Sunday's and it is never crowded and food comes out quick. I enjoy this place and keep coming back. I wish they had more organic options as a ton of their food features tomatoes, spinach, and strawberries which are all on the dirty dozen list. read more

The food is better than average but the service is terrible. My wife and I keep going back for the food thinking the service has to improve. I have spoken to several staff members and two managers in the past about the service. I am told they are understaffed. But I always see plenty of people running around, so I am thinking they are just mismanaged. Decide to try this location out since we were in the area and usually dine at the location in Eldridge & we waited awhile which we understand it is a Saturday morning but we're seated and waited 15 minutes until we asked the lady who seated us if we could get a waiter. Then our waiter comes & isn't apologetic at all & takes our drinks & order since we waited so long we knew what we wanted already & that took another 20 minutes just to get our drinks just because we asked him to get our drinks & he just said ohhhh okay after we just saw him talking with one of the waiters in the front . Then brings our food & one of the members from our group didn't get his food until 10 minutes after us... & when he asked if he could bring his appetizer which he ordered long time before we got our food the waiter didn't even respond to him and ignored him & to top it off he charged us all wrong until we corrected him. We waited for an hour for food. When food was brought out, only one of two pancakes was served. It took an additional 10 minutes for second pancake. Had an awful experience here, until Laquita stepped in to intervene. Our waitress was rude and inattentive. We waited over an hour for our food, no drink refills, and once it finally came out, it was ice cold. Luckily, since our waitress never showed back up, Laquita came by and asked if we needed anything else. Once we told her what was going on, she made everything right. She came back out, within 5-10 minutes, all piping hot, remade entrees, with gloves and a hairnet on. She got in there and DID IT HERSELF, to make sure we had a pleasurable experience here. We love First Watch. My daughters, due to medical needs, can't have gluten. They offer Gluten Free options (including French Toast). However, if you get Gluten Free make sure the right food comes out to you. Today, our waitress put in a Gluten Free order and then a guy waiter changed it in the kitchen thinking we only wanted the sides gluten free. If I wanted only the sides Gluten Free I would have asked for that! He flippantly brushes it off...not a brush off if my girls get extremely sick from Gluten. read more

This is an update to my first review. 5 mins after receiving our food, the waitress brought our check and said we can pay when we're ready but she never visited us again. This means we never got drink refills (again). On the upside, we had the Tri-Fecta and Breakfast Tacos which were good. Afterwards, the manager called me and told me she's sorry my first two trips we're unsatisfactory and offered to give my family a free breakfast/lunch. A few days later, I called while I was on my way to confirm the deal was still in place. When I asked if I could speak to the manager, the employee said "The managers are busy now, can you call back in 2 hours?" I said, "No I can't but can you give them a message so they can call me back in a few minutes?" She took my name and number and I never received a call back. So I'm not taking advantage of my free breakfast/lunch. I've had friends tell me they like this place but I don't know why I keep getting the short end of the stick with waitresses but the managers and food (the second time) are great. read more

I went to first watch today. There were 3 to 4 parties ahead of me in line. I was alone because my families out of town. I went there was a treat to myself after long distance exercise.I waited patiently. The parties in front of me were seated and then the wait staff seated three parties that came in after me. The first two were three person parties. I assumed they were waiting for a smaller table. No. They seated a party of two at a two top table and left me sitting as one person having waited for multiple groups of people to be seated before me. They had no reason when I asked why they kept skipping me. Bottom line: I am just as hungry or more hungry than those other people. If you don't want me in your restaurant solo, I'm not bringing my family and friends back. It's basic courtesy when you make people wait in line to call them in order unless you have a very good reason. read more

Ho-Ly Sh!t. Let me start by saying I have been to other first watch locations and I always recommend them to friends. HOWEVER, I would not recommend this Baytown location to my enemies. First of all it was prime time lunch time. About 12:00 straight up. I always know to expect slower wait times etc due to the lunch rush. At this time there wasn't much rush so I didn't think about it too much. So here we go... It took the better part of 20 min before we were spoken to after being seated. Tons of staff walked by always avoiding eye contact like we had the newest and upcoming plague. Eventually from a distance I saw someone "see" us. She was tussled in appearance and seemed like she needed some time in an ice box. She rolled her eyes disappeared and then reappears with a coffee pot. Ofcourse we were ready to order..we had time to study, memorize and test over the entire menu. I ordered the tri fecta. I do every time. I legitimately only show my face in a First Watch for their waffles. Eggs over medium. Bacon on the side. And Dr Pepper..but yes pibb is ok. My boss order the chikicanga and took the poorly presented coffee offer. No sour cream. Another maybe 20 minutes has passed and my throat feels like that Sahara. I'm thirsty. And willing to drink anything at this point. But my "Yes that's fine" Pibb was preferred. However it has yet to make an appearance. I try to make eye contact with our waitress...with any waiter really. To no avail. Just to get something wet in front of me to drink. Eventually I saw our waitress "see" us again.. and with a (you guessed it!) quick eye roll, a silent "oh shit", and something muttered about how "they" left our food for too long. She disappeared and reappeared with our food. Like magic! Sat in front of me was a waffle (thank goodness), eggs fried within an inch of their lives, and some conspicuous looking link sausage. Cool. My boss was moderately pleased that his meal appeared correct. No sour cream. She asked if we needed anything else and I, politely as I could muster, offered that I had asked for bacon as well as a drink. (That's right! Still hadn't gotten it!). After a brief moment she cane back with bacon and my drink. No straw. :/. One sip revealed that I had indeed been served a coke versus the pibb I had requested. Cool. I scarfed down what was offered for lack of time to complain and need to return to my busy work schedule. Should I mention my food was cold? No? Ok I won't. Anyways. It's always a sad day when you realize your eating at a place for the very last time. The end. As a bonus fun fact: We've tried, with little luck, to eat at this location multiple times. But had always been turned away... off the top of my head a couple excuses were; kitchen is backed up & we don't have water. I should've known. read more

Went in with the family for some brunch. We sat down and waited probably 10 minutes before someone came to speak with us. Finally our server came to us and got our orders. No silverware. I just came in and the wait for food was completely unacceptable. When the food did come, only half of the table's food came out and by the time the rest came out, the other half of the table had already finished eating(food would've been cold if we'd waited). The manager was less than helpful, apparently from the other reviews I've seen this is a common problem at this restaurant that has yet to be resolved. I like the food at First Watch but usually ordered through Waitr since I like to stay in on the Sundays. Once through Waitr they left out an entire meal from the order, other times they would forget the toast/preserves which I usually just didn't mind. They are no longer available on Waitr so I just ordered to go & picked up & again they forget the potatoes and toast from an order and only gave us the eggs & bacon. I don't think I have ever received a complete order from the Baytown location but yet I'm getting charged in full every time. If I ever order to go again I'm checking my entire order before leaving to make sure they put everything although I shouldn't have to do that. If you order to go, I recommend checking your order before leaving as well. read more

First of all I'm a meat and potatoes person. So I ventured out of my comfort zone and tried something new. I had the Chile Chorizo omelette and coffee. The omelette has slivered onions, green Chile, chorizo, cheese and avocado. Not a fan of avocados but the rest of the omelette was good. The chorizo had good flavor and the green Chile was slightly spicy. This food is totally for the new generation of eating healthy and staying fit. The omelette also came with multigrain toast and a salad on the side. A bit unusual for me but I tried it. My daughter had the Mexican elite Chorizo hash which she said was good. The roasted potatoes was here favorite. Her meal seemed more my kind of food. It was a hearty meat or chorizo and potatoes dish that I'm use to. The kids at the next table had chocolate chip pancakes which looked awesome. I would give this place another shot and be more optimistic about trying different varieties of food. Had the best salmon frittata today! Very generous portions of food - mixed greens salad, omelette and great strong coffee. The side bacon was perfect and food came out nice and hot. Will come back again. read more
