Ok mixed review here. We've ordered a few times from this location and have had mixed results. Sometimes the burgers are good and sometimes they really suck...I mean really really suck, soggy, only meat, messy presentation. The cheeseburger was quite good and really satisfied that comfort food craving. It's a classic burger with two patties and double American cheese. You custom order whatever toppings you want and they have a good selection of topping. I had mine with grilled onions, mushrooms, and the usual lettuce, tomato, ketchup, and pickles. I was so excited when Five Guys came to town. In my mind it beats In N Out. Unfortunately, I've been disappointed the last few times I've gone to this Five Guys. I ordered a little bacon burger all the way and when I got home to dive into my burger, I discovered there was no bacon (despite paying extra for it) and no mushrooms. This wasn't a first either. This happened to me last time too. I bought a soda and got myself a Coke Zero and the ratio of the syrup and soda was way off. It tasted mostly like soda water with a hint of syrup. It was weird and not worth it. Wish I realized the mistakes they made before I made it home with my burgers so I could have had them rectified. Ordered through Postmates for pickup to avoid the usual long wait. Ended up waiting 40 minutes anyway even after I was informed that my order was ready. From the moment I walked in, a stressful situation arose in the kitchen where the shift leader, I assume, sliced her finger. It was not handled very well (and in front of customers). The situation lead to orders needing to be canceled/refunded. Very understandable. However, some of the employees as well as the leader loudly complained (with very unfriendly f bombs) whenever an order printed from Postmates, GrubHub, etc. or whenever more customers came through the doors. Makes you feel bad as a customer for ordering. Given the situation, it was understandable to be frustrated, but whisper! Lol. Not yell in front of customers. Anyways, burgers were good. Like In-n-Out, Five Guys has a rabid loyal fan base. I'm sure a lot of people were happy when this location opened up in Pasadena. Let's talk food: Burgers - the items listed at the top of the menu are TWO PATTY burgers, you have to ask for "little" to get a single patty burger. No qualms about burger quality - they make a proper burger / topping options are endless. Fries - fries always made using fresh, not frozen potatoes. Little order is more than enough for one person. Note - you'll see some complaints about the portion size for the little fries. In my opinion those reviews are misleading - yes, it is technically a small cup of fries, but Five Guys always puts additional fries in the bag. I only gave this place 3 stars for the following reasons: 1) Music is very loud in the restaurant / hard to communicate your order to the cashier. You'll see other reviews here noting that - this may seem trivial, but I have to agree with the other reviews on this. They need to lower the volume of the music (by quite a bit). 2) Value - cheeseburger (2 patty), little fries, and a small drink was $16. That is steep in my opinion. I believe you can get out of In-n-Out with a double double, fries, and drink for less than $10. read more

where is "Zero" when you need one! We ordered two hamburgers and fries. What a disappointment, the hamburgers were soggy and looked disgusting. Same for the fries, they charged $5 for fries that looked leftover from a week before. The total came to $36 which was not worth a penny. We will never go back. We walked in to get some burgers and fries. We've been excited about trying the Pasadena location because we've been to the West Covina Five Guys and the service and food is excellent! Upon arrival we were graciously greeted and placed our orders. The service was quick. However, after receiving our orders I noticed the fries were over cooked. Dried out fries. I informed the server of the fries and asked for a fresh cooked order of fries and he looked confused. I explained that they were over cooked and dried out. He then said, hold on for a second. He spoke with someone who was probably a lead or something. Definitely not a supervisor or manager. I overheard the lead say, well, they have to wait 10 minutes. He seemed bothered by my request. The server then returned with, it will be a few minutes. I said, that was fine. They never fried up a new order, they scooped out what was sitting in the tray under the hot lamp. When he gave me another order of fries, they looked exactly the same as the other ones. Burnt and dry! I took the fries and just shook my head. Never did they once apologize for the inconvenience. Side note: the kid cooking the fries looked high. His eyes were red and he was out of it. This crew needs to go back to customer service school and cooking fries school. Because they sucked! I do food delivery and this place is without fail the slowest performing restaurant in the entire delivery area. They are consistently late with customers' orders, not just by a few mins like some places, but typically by 15, 20 mins. I have been in there when there was only 1 other customer and they were still late with the order. Why would you offer toppings if you don't put them in our burgers?... This is hard because the food is good. The fries are great. But, the speed of service is INCREDIBLY slow. We've tried three times and the average wait has been 30 minutes! This was my first time at a Five Guys. I was surprised to learn that a double bacon cheeseburger, small fries and small drink totals to $18. Pros: The fries were excellent, the burger ingredients were fresh, and the self-serve soda selection is vast. The kitchen and the dining room were spotless. Service was polite and friendly. Cons: The fries needed more salt. The bun disintegrated before I got halfway through. And the number of staff there seemed to be far in excess of what was needed, which explains why they needed to charge $18 for my meal. Still, it wasn't $18 worth of good. I had a terrible experience on 4/23/2021. I ordered online, and showed up at the time the website the food would be ready. When I arrived, I asked, and I was told they were working on it. I waited, and waited, and waited. There was clearly a serious problem with organization and morale among the employees. There was one 20-minute period during which no food left the kitchen, even with 3 people working. My order seemed to get shuffled to lost, or shuffled to the bottom. I finally waited in the ordering line and asked to just get a plain cheeseburger for my daughter, and cancel the rest of the order. The employee gave me an annoyed look, and walked slowly to the back of the restaurant. After a few more minutes of waiting, a manager came out, but she said she couldn't help me because she had cut her finger and her boss was on the phone. So I waited again. When she finally emerged, she said she could give me a refund. I begged her to just give me a cheeseburger for my daughter, so she could have something to eat. Two words: disgusted and disappointed. Upon walking in, I was greeted with the FOUL smell of something that smelled like vomit. Imagine how bad it smelled that I could smell it through my double mask. I could only imagine what it would have smelled like without a mask on. Yup, that's literally what it tasted like... old fries that had been poorly season and re-dipped into grease. The burger also was not good either! I normally get it lettuce wrapped because my body doesn't fully agree with bread, but I decided that I would take one for the team and eat the bread because I LOVE five guys burgers, bread included. The bun??? Dry. The texture was giving me "I've been sitting out all day. I'm stale and should be thrown away". I was SOOOOO disappointed and dissatisfied. The taste of the burger wasn't even good. Overall, bad experience and probably won't be back nor do I recommend anyone to go here.... thing is, I seriously enjoy five guys. It's a place I "splurge" at, and this was horrible. Like, I'm majorly disappointed and have never in all my years had nasty five guys. I've never been to a Five Guys and our Pasadena location has been around for a while so I gave it a try. Staff was friendly however they didn't seem polished in running the place.
