    Regular NAE Chicken Bowl

Quick service, very clean, tasty food. This is much healthier than a lot of other fast food options, quality ingredients make it stand out.

A million or more dirty finger prints, used napkins, lids on the floor .. ew.

I use to love this place and gave it a 5-star review for a long time...but that is definitely not the case anymore. Previously it was clean, the management and staff were nice guys always smiling and very friendly and professional. I just went in, that'll be my last time, and it was dirty, and the girl working the counter was not only unfriendly but plain rude and unprofessional and also slow. Sad to lose this place as a go-to for a good quick bite since it's so close to home but it was honestly awful. :(

Food good. Get vaccinated before you use the fountain machine. If the outside looks like this ask to see the inside!

Bad avocado even after I told them it was bad. All I got was was "it oxidized" In 4 minutes??

First time this happened I let it slide cause you know, they were busy and maybe didn't have time to look at the quality they're putting on their food. But this time after opening my bowl and seeing that they forgot my fork and sauce (I work medical and right now with covid we have to eat lunch in our cars or outside and I only get 30 min lunch) AND then seeing this I kinda just got fed up. I kindly called them to tell them that they gave me a rotten avocado and the gentleman on the phone told me it was because it oxidized. I never knew an avocado can oxidize this bad in 4 minutes. I just told him it would be best to just maybe peep on what they're giving out to help any future patrons avoid this annoying AF situation The girl behind the counter was very sweet but it sucks im giving up on my go to lunch spot because of continuous nuances like this.

Just small chopped up veggies. Mostly broccoli stems. Disappointing. (Carrots were moved to my hubbies bowl).

Only putting up the stars because the service was good. We got two regular chicken bowls. Just veggies. No rice. Our bowls were 2/3 full. Or should I say 1/3 empty. Very disappointing. And our veggies? They were chopped up very small. Broccoli? It was only the stems. We were really excited to have this Flame Broiler open up. But probably won't be back. Too many yummy chicken bowl places around that feed you more for less.

You can tell this place has a strong base of regulars too, I saw a mix of friend groups and families casually walking in like it's their go-to spot. We ordered the cold noodles combo with jokbal (pork hock) for $30.95. Portion wise, it's SOLID for two people. The cold noodles were refreshing and really hit the spot, especially if you like that clean, slightly tangy flavor. The jokbal was very decent. Not bad, but if you've had it in Korea, you'll notice it doesn't quite hit the same level still totally "usable," just not standout. Value, this is where they win. We got full off just one combo, which is rare these days. Plus, all the usual Korean side dishes are complimentary, and they also served a warm bone broth at no extra cost. I've honestly never had that offered like this before, and it made the whole meal feel extra comforting and homey. Small detail, but I also appreciated that the table was already fully set up with bowls, utensils, and water which makes everything efficient. Overall, really solid experience. It actually gave me a bit of that Seoul nostalgia, which is hard to replicate. Definitely coming back to try more dishes.

(Pretty sure it's just the owner) who was very friendly, but the other staff had a huge attitude, the girl who dropped off our side dishes dug her hands into the dishes to grab two at a time which was super unsanitary. She threw the last side dish on our table while she was walking away too. I wanted to be optimistic about the food even though the staff gave a terrible first impression. We ordered two soups. They were both super bland. My partner and I kept debating whether or not to ask for more salt because of the lack of seasoning in both of our meals. Even the side dishes were lacking flavor and looked like they were sitting out for a long time. The only good thing I have to say about this place is the kind lady (probably owner) of the restaurant. Everything else was a huge let down. I wanted to like the food here because there's a lot of good Korean restaurants in Irvine, and this could've been one of them but sadly it's not worth coming back.

She gave great recommendations, explained menu items for some people in our group who were new to Korean BBQ, and kept the vibe fun the entire time. The restaurant itself was really clean, lively, and had a great atmosphere. The food came out quickly and everything tasted fresh. The brisket, spicy pork belly, and bulgogi were probably our favorites, and the sides and cheese corn were so good too. You can tell why this place is always busy. Honestly one of the best service experiences I've had at Mr. BBQ. Food was amazing, but the service is what made us want to come back. Ask for Maegan if you can!

The pork jowl and pork belly are DIVINE - clearly high quality. Workers hand us a sticker with specs about the preparation and aging process, which is oddly charming and shows how much pride they take in their meat. Tangy pickled or fermented veggies, sweet pineapple, mushrooms, and soups help cut through all that richness from the fat. The pork and kimchi soup especially hits - it's super comforting and balances out the meal. This is also a great alternative if you're craving BBQ but don't have the stomach space for AYCE. These portions leave us full and satisfied every time. Overall, an amazing spot for a casual, pork-centric feast!
