Today I had the worst experience @ Red's Flavor Table. First off my waiter when asked for Lemon slices in my water he toor me they didn't have any. The next thing was the person with me ordered grits but when his plate arrived it had potatoes. When he made the waiter aware of the mistake he said ok but never came back with the grits. After almost 20 minutes he asked another waiter about the grits. And the other waiter brought them. After that he never came back to ask how was the food or did we need anything. When he came back to our table he had 2 takeout containers in his hand and two bags that we didn't ask for. So I look over at another customers table and low and behold she had lemon slices in her water. So now I'm pissed. So I ask the waiter Excuse me didn't you tell me there were no lemon slices. He said yes I did. In a very sarcastic tone. Well when you asked for them we didn't have none, because the delivery just came in. I said well when they came you never offered me some when you knew I asked for some. Then I said well what happen to his grits. I guess you forgot about them too. He said. Well my Co-Worker brought them to him. I said you were our waiter did you even come check or apologize for forgetting the grits. He said well we work together her were all your waiters. I said well you get an F in customer Service. So I get up to leave and. I ask the person at the front desk who the waiter was he said its a family owned business. I began to tell him about what happened and here comes this waiter. Oh that would be me your talking about. I said I'm not talking to you and walked out of the restaurant. I Ball of that man!!! I will not go back because if this one bad apple.....A little leaven spoils the while lump. Said because I was very impressed in my first visit and I returned within a few days less than a week. Thumbs down....No Star!!!!! A restaurant needs to be consistent at least for 3 consecutive visits!!!!! read more

Excellent spot for breakfast. The crab and shrimp omelette was good. My daughter's got the shrimp breakfast and the shrimp were delicious as well as the potatoes. The on my problem was the wait as we were waiting for at least an hour and a half. read more

The take out location is always a 5 star experience. The dine in location is closer to 4 stars, for me at least. Both locations have great food, but the sit down experience is kind of a bit much at the dine in location if you aren't tryna be dressed up and fancy and just want to eat. Again, food is perfect regardless. But the sit down location has the atmosphere of a Sizzler on graduation day or a Home Town Buffet after church. Nothing wrong with that, just be prepared. Great food, large portions, try "the mix" for a drink. Depending on the time you go, prepare for a wait. Recommend bringing cash as they do not split the bill for payment and $1 charge to pay with CC or debit card. Sweet tea has a lemony taste, so its not the traditional Southern sweet tea. I went to The Flavor Table today for the first time. The food was nothing short of amazing! Nothing but positive things to report: DELICIOUS food, great portions, great service! Everyone in my family was equally pleased with their meal choices. I was a tad surprised there was no wait when we arrived(1pm, Saturday afternoon), but obviously that was fine by me! Although the food is a bit on the pricey side, that's to be expected for brunch, no matter where you go. 10/10 will be back. I was more than blown away by the amazing service we received at Flavor Table. We walked into a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that made me feel like all the guests were family. The servers came back with our orders in a very timely manner, and they gave us nice, hearty portion sizes. The food was delicious. One of the best things of all was their customer service; they announced that one lady was celebrating her birthday there and got the whole place to sing her Happy Birthday! So I absolutely fell in love with this place today ! It's hard to find really good food over here but this is definitely a great spot . I ordered the salmon Croquettes. They give you a pretty good amount of food and it's not too pricey. The only thing is they do really need some extra help in there . On Friday it took 1.5 hours for my food to be ready but when i got it the chicken strips were perfect. Decided to try again for Sunday but ask them to call me when ready because my time is valuable. Just had breakfast at the Flavor Table in Inglewood for the first time. The food was amazing and the service was great. I had Creole style shrimp and grits and peach cobbler French toast. This is probably the worst customer experience I have had in a long time. First upon my arrival I asked to be seated my breakfast companion was late. I was asked 3 different times how much longer she was going to be. I was also asked to call her for an ETA. After our meal my friend and I were talking and we were asked to hurry up because they had customers waiting. We were taken aback and asked to speak with management. I came here on a Sunday with my family (party of 6). Mind you, we came about 30 minutes before closing. They happily accommodated us, however we were told the wait would be 40 minutes. Obviously we weren't to happy about that, but most restaurants are packed around that time on Sunday so we waited (they have a little back area to wait so you don't stand outside). We were finally seated after about 30 minutes. The food was served really fast! However, I must saaaaaaaay - the food was loop warm but delicious! I enjoyed my catfish & shrimps but they could have definitely heated it up if they were gonna cook it so fast and leave it. For example, my grits were warm but practically stiff because they had been sitting around. I tasted my sister's chicken wings, which where was good but could have used more seasoning. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! The Flavor Table is located in Manchester Square. I own a home in Manchester Square. This could not have been a better choice as one of my now, previous, favorite places to eat IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD. The Crab and Shrimp Omelette became my item of choice. My husband usually orders it for me. Today I decided to order one for myself. I placed a phone order explicitly asking if they were cash only. I was informed they DO accept cards. When I arrived I was informed of a card transaction fee. This information was not given to me over the phone when I asked if this establishment accepted card transactions. I expressed I was unaware of any card transaction fee with a woman whom I later discovered was the manager. She acted as if I offended her by mentioning it and made no attempt to waive the fee. I retuned later with cash to have my purchase restored. I DO NOT pay ANYONE to give them my money! I then spoke with a lady I assumed to be the owner. I informed her I was not made aware of the card transaction fee when I placed my phone order and would like to have my transaction reversed and pay in cash. She said it is written on the menu. I PLACED a phone order. I was informed that many establishments charge card transaction fees and that it would take too long to reverse the charges. "Well unless you're in Beverly Hills," she said smiling, patting my hand while placing the amount of the card transaction fee inside. "There now you should be a happy camper." I am not a "happy camper." A pleasant smile is not a disguise for rudeness and I DO NOT pay ANYONE to take my money. Neither should ANY consumer. There is no sign posted expressing a card purchase fee and unless it is in extremely fine print I DID NOT see it on the menu. I am not a cash carrier and feel that an establishment's bank fees should never be passed on to the consumer in this manner. It altered my entire dining experience. I have purchased the Crab and Shrimp Omelette before, it usually comes with a few shells and I had accepted that. Today those came with belittlement in the form of a card transaction fee and a pat on the hand. Thank you Bonnie Bee in Windsor Hills for your excellent customer service regarding the same matter. There is now a card transaction fee at Bonnie Bee so bring cash if you can. Thank you Skin Care by Lidia in Beverly Hills for providing me with NO card transaction fee. Horrible Customer Service! I took my husband here for the first time and it was a disaster! When we arrived it took 10 minutes before someone could put a table cloth on the table. We were then seated in a corner and forgotten about. Waiter never even asked if we wanted something to drink. Finally after 30 minutes I asked him for 2 drinks and he brought back 1. Never checked on us at all. Like I said, stuck in a corner and forgotten about. I ordered pancakes and by the time I got someone's attention to bring me some syrup, the pancakes were cold. Even with the syrup they weren't great or anything special, just okay. OMG! What a disaster! I just attempted to pick up my order today and was verbally attacked by the owner and her rude staff member Quintella! Trying to explain Quintella's repeated rude behavior to the owner, she refused to listen, took on the same attitude and demeanor as the staff member and stated I was no longer welcomed to her establishment! Quintella fabricated previous and recent events, and because they are friends, there was no recourse for me. While I was there, there were customers waiting complaining that they've been there for an entire hour with no service. This is just amongst other issues other customers have with this establishment and no one from TFT seems to care. Therefore, my next move is legal recourse. There's was no need for me to be banished as a result of someone's mistreatment. SENT EARLIER TODAY I've been meaning to update my review to rate not only my visits to this establishment, but rate the service of the hostesses and the chef(s). First, the host and hostesses are great and very pleasant when either seating you or assisting with any to-go orders. One in particular is Kina. She's very polite, professional and tends to want to make your visit to The Flavor Table pleasant. I've had several disappointments with a staff member named Quintella who's the absolute worst in customer service. She has no personality skills, rude - talks all over you when you're calling in your order, and her demeanor is very ghetto, example: today, after ordering over the phone, when I gave her my name for take-out, her immediate comment was 'ummmm' as though she has to tolerate me today as a customer. No one should be subjected to that type of behavior or rudeness. For a while, I didn't patron TFT because of Quintella's rudeness, but with the pleasant atmosphere the other staff members air and the food being as awesome as it is, I choose to bite the bullet. Its sad because I don't patron hardly any black owned businesses for THIS exact reason and I'm sure millions of other folks would agree. I got here about 11:55 am to be exact. The lady with the dreads did say it will be a wait but damn she was not playing. It is very small it has 6 tables and 1 booth. It is seating in the back but i was told that opens on the weekends. I came on a friday before and i was outside but i guess that is the weekend. Anyways... I wanted to bring my mom because she never been so i waited. Otherwise i dont care how good the food is i would have left. I was seated at 12:39pm...finally....after about 3-5 minutes later i decided to go get my own menu since i was not given one... i orded our food. Now keep in mind its very small so it is not alot of people at one time so its not crazy busy. Im typing now and the time is 12:50 pm and im dying of thirst so i guess i will ask for some water. Even though i ordered water when i ordered my food. Maybe they have to wait on the food. I dont know. Dont get me wrong the food is good but i think its better that you order to go.. I didn't know-no better. My girlfriend and I plus her three little kids came for breakfast Saturday morning we waited 20 minutes standing with a two-year-old on her hip there were three tables that were dirty nobody moved to clean them off so we could at least sit down that was the first thing I questioned in my mind,why aren't the two waiters who are men being gentlemen and clean this table off so this lady could sit with this baby-I kept silent like a fool. I ordered grits eggs and sausage-The grits were great the biscuits were off the chain. The sausage taste like they came straight from the grease with no blotting no nothing just oil and meat. The eggs are ordered well well well well well done even brown with cheese and onions I useful well five times I felt the server should've told to cook maybe six times but apparently there must be some type of language barrier because my eggs were soft and they even looked runny-WTF The waiter asked me was everything okay I explained to him that's not how I wanted them cooked he sent them back through a window and apparently they said at the window for two minutes because nobody touch them so when I got them back I didn't touch'em he asked me was everything okay and I explained that it was not but I'm not going to keep sending them back they could just take them off to bill he said okay apparently he left for the day and the owners son picked up where he left off he handed me the bill and the eggs were still on the bill with an additional charge for the cheese and onions-WTF I explained to him what happened and he told me unfortunately he could not take them off the bill--WTF Okay I'm not argumentative person why am I going back-and-forth with the owners and son. I'm the customer I should've left out of there happy. This whole conversation is totally unnecessary and this is why we have "YELP" to let people know what you're dealing with at The Flavor Table-A lack of professionalism a lack of customer service and it's sad because this is a restaurant in our community but they just don't get it without us there is no them. Went to the restaurant with the large group of people hoping to have a good brunch however not only was Stephen Rude the entire crew was rude forgot to bring out basic items like water and biscuits and then told us we had to wait until others were served.
