Dined in for lunch on 10/19/24 for a baby shower. There was plenty of space in the group party room. It was spacious and you could have game booths on the side. The market table and Feijoada Bar were good! The vegetables were fresh. Sometimes the fruits were sweet, but sometimes they weren't. Before the meats came, they served Brazilian cheese breads, crispy polenta, mashed potatoes and caramelized bananas. I loved the cheese breads, but only when they are warm. When the meats came, they all came quick. It would be overwhelming if this was your first time because you wouldn't know which meat is which. I liked the filet mignon and rib eye the most. It really depends on the cut because sometimes the meats would be dry, but some pieces were moist and juicy. My girlfriend asked for some more rib eye at the end, but they took a long time to bring it. Eventually it came in the end, but it was cold by then. At the end they served desserts, and by far the best one was the cheesecake! Personally, I think the chocolate brigadeiro was too sweet. Overall, for a group event, Fogo de chao was great! The price seems pretty reasonable too. Everyone was full at the end. read more

For the price of $40, this place has some great food. Without a doubt the star is the Picanha, but it was great tasting all the different meats, they were decently cooked. The salad bar would be enough for a decent meal on its own as well, but be careful not to fill yourself up with it. The restaurant looks great, a high ceiling with chandeliers. Parking is across the street and validated, otherwise $1.50 per half hour. The way the restaurant works is you sit at your table and servers come and carve meat for you. Your experience will depend heavily on how many other tables need to be served, but it's still good to have a break between meats, and the time between meats was never more than 15 minutes. Parking: note in weekend street parking is street but abide to the city street signs. Ambiance : very clean entrance and a little dark compared to other Fogo. Wasn't too busy nor packed. The salad bar entrance and the meat selections are what caught my eye. Food: went for the salad bar while my dad had the $72 AYCE meat. The meat spread looks amazing. Though have to ask several different slices since the first cut of new meat are actually burnt. Overall Nick was the best waiter and was attentive to our needs and celebrated my dad's bday! Overall pleased with the dining experience. I would say some of the salad needs to be refreshed since a lot of its vinegar style on everything so might need to check on that. read more

The food here is alright, but for the price, I expected something better. The service here could definitely use some work (as the other low reviews here on Yelp were saying as well). My server was not attentive at all and seemed to be bothered if my party needed something. Their salad bar had decent options. The basil dressing was yummy. Overall, this would be my first and last experience here. Giving this 2 stars because the ambiance is gorgeous. Just sad that the service here took away from the overall experience. read more

I've always loved eating at Fogo De Chaos and had craving to have dinner the other night. Always felt Pasadena second best one next to Beverly Hills location. Was originally going to try the Brea location but the reviews there discouraged us to do so. We got there early for dinner and ordered the special best of Brazil and was sort of disappointed in some of the items. The bottom sirloin I tried twice and the meat wasn't that tender. I thought the service when available was good except it was slow to attend. We had a male server in the beginning and then a female after both not very attentive and the lady also apologized for some reason maybe seeing the disappointment in my eyes. Ambiance was nice and always appreciated a lovely dining room they have. I've looked at other restaurants which seems to have similar concerns with attention to service and inconsistency with food. I'd hate to see this restaurant fail as they've always been a favorite. Hope management addresses the concerns. read more

Celebrated my mothers bday in January and we wouldn't get any of the meats we came to eat one of the workers said they would get in trouble by management if they brought us the requested meats because we're very picky with our cuts of meats, one of the employees took care of us once I complained but by that time we were already full and then when I ordered dessert to sing to my mother the waitress just put the the dessert down and said here you guys can sing and proceeded to walk away but we didn't care it's just not a good place to celebrate my mothers especial day The fogo in Topanga was amazing and since we loved it we decide to give this location a try which will less likely happen. read more

This was our third time at this location, and it never fails to provide incredible service and great food. This time, we were celebrating Nicaraguan Mother's Day, and the service was once again top-tier thanks to Kelsey and Emelyn. Both of these lovely ladies made sure everything was going well throughout our visit, and my water glass was always full (thank goodness!). My mom was also given a complimentary dessert to help celebrate the special occasion, which was such a thoughtful touch. While Kelsey and Emelyn did a fabulous job, so did every single person who helped serve us that day. This was our first time trying Fogo de Chao. We wanted something new and exciting and delicious. We got all that and more. Our waitress was Kelce who was so pleasant and guided us through the whole experience from cocktails to deserts. She knows the cuisine and her every suggestion was outstanding. We are now Kelce's loyal patrons. I have been to other so-called Brazilian churascos and this is by far the most outstanding, beautifully prepared and utterly delicious food. I would not eat lamb chops until I walked in there. I had 2 and 1/2 of one of my partners. The mint sauce (as well as the others) is outstanding. Quite honestly, this place, in today's current costs for eating out, is a super great value for the price. You simply can't miss. The restaurant itself is a beautiful old historic bank building & it feels like you have walked into a fancy gala dinner. Finally, a huge shout out to Devan, he has managed to find the most outstanding staff to serve you throughout your experience. If you haven't experienced a Michelin Star dining experience, try Fogo de Chao Pasadena, you will come away after haven been given a good taste of what it's like to experience such superb dining. We have visited this location quite a few times. There is a young lady who is in a manager position who is really nice. However, we ordered food through a food service and we were missing an item. We called the restaurant and they said it was not their fault. How is it not their fault if our bag was sealed. I didn't think it was fair to blame the delivery service so instead I sucked it up and did not get my food item missing. My son was disappointed but this taught him a lesson...this is not how to act in customer service. I will think twice before going to this location. read more

We ordered the indulgent churrasco, and every single one of the meats was tender, well seasoned, and flavorful. The house bar also had amazing selections. Recently came for dinner and did the "Taste of Brazil" menu. I don't know why it's more expensive in CA ($44/pp), but oh well! The meat selection for this menu was decent. I can't remember which meat was my favorite, I think it was a pork one. (Gah, sorry!) I wish their market table was slightly cheaper for dinner (I think it was $38/pp), so we just decided to go with a few extra dollars for some of their meats! We also got all of their extra sauces this time - their house sauce (almost like a salsa verde) was my favorite; but they also have a horseradish and chimichurri. We weren't seated in the main dining room this time, but in the room next to it, and I will say that meat service slowed down a lot as our dinner progressed. Our server didn't really check on us either towards the middle-end as he just had too many large parties to take care of... If you're willing to park in any of the lots over in Old Town and walk over, it's $2.00 for the first 2 hours, and I think we only paid about $3.00 for our total visit, which included some walking before and after our dinner. I recommend making a reservation, but I don't think they're required anymore. read more

We enjoyed our first visit to Fogo de Chão. My husband and kids are big meat eaters so they decided to try their Churrasco Experience. I ordered the salmon since I don't eat meat and I was happy with my dish. I also loved their market table with such wide variety of food offered. The family enjoyed the variety of meats and tried all that were offered. Some were better than others but all in all, it was a great experience. I especially enjoyed the table side caipirinha! When to lunch for my 2nd time and my husband's first time ever and right away Luke greeted us in such a friendly manner, explained the menu thoroughly and started us right away. He checked in on us quite often, refilled our waters, offered any additional items on the menu. Being treated the way Luke received us felt so comforting and appreciated. We enjoyed ABSOLUTELY everything!He goes above and beyond for his customers, asks how the food was, or if there was something in particular that we wanted. We loved that. Honestly, I was a bit disappointed with our visit to Fogo de Chão. We've been to other steakhouses in the area and the food here just wasn't that great--everything felt a little hit or miss. The biggest issue for us was the service. We were dining with our sons and the staff didn't seem very friendly or accommodating toward families. It felt like we were more of a bother than guests. Had my first lilikoi foam in Maui and I love that I'm starting to see it around Los Angeles now. Adds such a punch of flavor to an after we balanced drink. For food, we started with the bacon deviled eggs and shrimp taquitos. Those deviled eggs were lightly fried, which was different, then had apple wood smoked bacon on top, just a really tasty bite. The shrimp taquitos were also not what you would expect, nice and light but still very good. Entrees we went with the center cut fillet and the prime rib dip with swiss cheese on a brioche bun. That sandwich just melts if your mouth after dipping it in the jous, and the cheese was the perfect accompiament. The fillet was cooked perfect as well, coming out medium rare. Overall, great restaurant in Pasadena. Definitely get the Mai Tai, Devine eggs and prime rib dip. Taquitos were good and, if you're feeling like another hg er appetizer, definitely a way to go . Then when you get there, parking is not just a challenge, it's a mystery. Street parking only so prepare to be creative and lucky. The vintage building is attractive. Pitted carved concrete and Malibu tiles. Step inside and be greeted by a genuine warm smile and and someone that is happy to see you, and if your luck is holding the Host will invite you to a take a short shuffle to a huge booth where you can make a comfy nest. The Decor is a charcoal gray box with a dining room filled with 2 and 4 tops, a communal table or two, a private dining room and a curbside patio if you insist. Malbec is a perfect place to celebrate a Quinceanera, a non-Kosher Bar Mitzvah, a Golden Shower Retirement, a Gender Reveal, a Gender Conceal or that your substandard Insurance Co. will actually pay for your GPL-1 meds which you might need after over eating great food here. The Malbec Salad was large enough to feed everyone in the Recoleta at sundown. Fresh Romaine, Radicchio, Goat Cheese crumbles, a hand carved Avocado fan (I'm a big fan of that), quartered Cucumber Coins, Frisee Lettuce, a sizable slice of toasted Bread, the large mound is mixed with a Caesar-ish Dressing and the whole pile is fresh, refreshing, tasty and a great dish to begin your dinner with. The menu is ambitious to say the least. Heroic lists of Appetizers, Pastas, Pizza, Mains, Seafood, Steaks, Sides, Sauces and Desserts. The Kitchen is fearless because they know they can crank out everything on the menu properly. And you know, they can. I opted for Pollo Las Hierbas (Herb Roasted Chicken), spatchcocked (back cone removed and the whole half Chicken squashed flat for quick and easy grilling). Did I mention that the portions are substantial? They are. The Chicken begins it's journey soaking in Lemon and Herbs. For an additional $2 you can bury the whole bird with Diabla Sauce. Excellent. The Kitchen elevated Spinach beyond Pop-Eye's power surge urge. This was beyond just a Side Dish. Vegans, have at it. The Roasted Potatoes were also good enough to enjoy as a Main. Really crunchy nuggets with creamy centers. This place not only offers fine comida de la gente, the restaurant is efficient but doesn't rush. Want to enjoy sobremesa? So the cubed baked sweet potatoes and red and yellow peppers did kinda off set the saltiness of the prime rib. I also had this same problem at the Blue Bayou in Disneyland. I hate it when my meat is over salted, but whatever. The creamed corn was such a great side. Definitely upgrade to this premium side if you like corn. It's so worth it. As a massive dork for corn, this was perfection in a dish. Lowkey this was the star dish for me. Not the prime rib, sadly. The dish is fricken sweet, savory, creamy, rich, and comforting. The braised short rib and mango duck salad are always my favorite, but I also love the sweet and sour pork, honey walnut shrimp, the sizzling rice soup, the sea bass, upside down noodles, the stir fried green beans, I also love the molten lava cake for dessert, everything is always so delicious it's hard to pick a favorite! I've also tried their omakase and it was a great experience, I love the spicy tuna hand roll, and the fish from sushi bar is very fresh, manager said it's flown in directly from Japan, I can't remember if he said every week? Everything was delicious, I would want to do omakase again one of these days when I can take a longer lunch again haha love coming here and every time I look forward to trying a new dish. HAKATA SET (Your choice of: Tonkotsu or Miso Ramen, comes with Mini Spicy Tuna Don, Chicken Karaage 2 pcs, Tsukemono) This was one of the set items for the lunch special. Chose the miso ramen. The miso ramen had a very strong white miso flavor. Didn't hate it, as I do love miso, but it was a little too much miso for my liking. Typical curly ramen and it was cooked well. Loved the jammy egg too. It was a soy marinated egg. There were also three pieces of chashu too! It was good, but slightly overcooked. The portion of the ramen was medium sized and was surprised they didn't bring a smaller size since it was a set meal. But happy they were generous! Spicy tuna don was a small bowl, but they gave a good portion of spicy tuna, which was delicious. Chicken karaage were two pieces of chicken and it was just okay. No tsukemono was served with the meal. Overall the meal was satisfying. I think the price was fair for what was given. CUSTOMER SERVICE Good, friendly and attentive customer service. No complaints! AMBIANCE / TABLES + SEATS Very calm and relaxing ambiance. It was quiet and no music was playing, which I liked. The restaurant was super clean and I liked how the tables were set. Upon arriving at the restaurant for our reserved table of four, the staff seemed utterly befuddled by our reservation, as if it had vanished into thin air. This initial blunder set the stage for a series of unfortunate events that followed. As we waited at the bar for our table to be prepared, hoping to commence the festivities, we were met with blatant rudeness from a member of the bar staff, particularly a woman whose demeanor bordered on contemptuous. It was an inauspicious start to what should have been a joyous affair. Once finally seated, our spirits were momentarily lifted by a server who took the time to explain the menu and address our inquiries with patience and professionalism. Regrettably, any semblance of satisfaction was short-lived. We were enticed by a purported "deal" offering four dinner plates each for $69.50, with the promise of two plates free if we indulged in the Wagyu Ribeye for $165.00. The allure of this offer quickly evaporated as the evening unfolded. Despite assurances from our server regarding the accompanying sides--garlic mashed potatoes, polenta, caramelized bananas, and warm pão de queijo--these tantalizing additions never materialized. Furthermore, confusion regarding the dining process, supposedly indicated by coaster signaling, led to a premature presentation of the main course, disrupting the flow of our meal. To compound matters, a server abruptly began cooking the Wagyu before we were ready, disregarding our requests to wait, and throwing us off balance. Despite voicing our concerns, the server's response amounted to a mere apology, offering no resolution to the disruption. As the evening wore on, the litany of mishaps continued to mount. Delays in receiving our drinks, the absence of ordered sides, and baffling inconsistencies in dessert offerings--all underscored by the absence of the promised crème brûlée--served only to exacerbate our frustration. The climax of our exasperation came with the mishandling of the bill. Despite repeated requests, our server proceeded to clear the table without providing the requested to-go box for the mashed potatoes, showcasing a blatant disregard for our preferences. To compound matters, a billing error resulted in one of my cousins being charged a total of four times, a mistake that necessitated unnecessary inconvenience to rectify. Fogo de Chão Management or Customer Service, I am writing to express my profound disappointment with my recent dining experience at your Pasadena location on June 6, 2025. We had a reservation for a large party of 15 at 8:00 PM, booked over 60 days in advance. While I understand it was a busy Friday night during graduation month, the level of service and the condition of the restaurant were unacceptable. Several issues immediately stood out: * The restrooms were in a state of disrepair and uncleanliness. One stall had no lighting and was very dirty, with no toilet paper or seat covers available. This suggests a lack of attention from management regarding basic maintenance and guest comfort. * The salad bar was consistently empty and not adequately replenished, despite the $74 price point for the churrasco experience. Many advertised items, including cheeses and various salads, were unavailable. * The advertised $54 basic meat option for California areas was not readily offered. We had to inquire specifically and were then informed that our entire party was required to select the $74 option. Even with this more expensive choice, the meat service to our private room was infrequent, and the team showed little attention to offering a variety of cuts. * Online happy hour drinks were advertised but not offered at the restaurant. * Our waiter changed multiple times, particularly when the bill was presented. We intended to pay with three cards and cash, but half of the cash was incorrectly applied to other tables' drink charges, leading to confusion. * The manager who addressed our concerns did not offer a sincere apology and displayed a dismissive attitude. While they attempted to rectify some issues, they also seemed intent on rushing us, despite a 30-minute delay in receiving our bill. * Despite it being my birthday, the complimentary dessert promised by our initial server never arrived. After we finished eating, it took an additional 30 minutes for the cake to be brought out. Ultimately, the valet had to handle our final arrangements due to the extensive delays, and the manager still offered no apology or explanation. The overall experience was far below the standard I expect from the Fogo de Chão chain. For a bill of $1500 plus tax, we received subpar service, an understocked salad bar, and a limited meat selection. This Pasadena location is not representing the Fogo de Chão brand well, and it is evident that improvements are needed in staff training and management oversight. I've been to multiple Fogo de Chao locations in the SoCal area, and am usually impressed with the service and food quality. However, this location clearly failed to deliver. I made a reservation for 7:30PM on 2/14, expecting to be seated within 15-20 minutes of checking in at the same time. To my surprise, there were dozens of customers waiting for their own reservations to be seated despite checking in on-time. The hostess at the front had to deal with many upset customers questioning the wait. She told me that despite my reservation, it would be about an hour's wait. After another mishap in which my party was given an occupied table, we were finally seated around 8:45PM. This location's ambiance was decent, although the tables were packed very closely together. Some tables had freestanding couch set-ups which was an interesting decor choice. My server was great: responsive, communicative, and experienced. We started with the salad bar as usual; standard fare for a Fogo location, and no complaints there. However, the meats were very slow to come out and frequently overcooked. While in my experience, Fogo tends to be slightly over on the salt/seasoning (which I'm used to and expect), the seasoning varied wildly this night from highly oversalted to barely seasoned at all. The mashed potatoes were over-peppered as well. For the premium price you're paying, the service was not acceptable. I will say, this is not the fault of any of the waitstaff or servers who did their best to navigate a tough situation. Rather, management needs to take a serious look at their own standards for running a restaurant. They were clearly overbooked, understaffed, and grossly unprepared for one of the most important nights of the year in the service world. read more

We were seated fairly quickly despite arriving without a reservation, which was a great start. Our server, Samantha, was lovely and attentive. However, when it came to fulfilling requests like getting bread (since none was provided at the table) or bringing out a mocktail, there was a considerable delay. It almost felt like our requests weren't acted on until we had to ask Samantha for further assistance. Once we followed up, she handled it reasonably well. The biggest issue we faced was with the meat offerings. Nearly all the cuts served to our table were rare to medium-rare, which isn't our preference. While we understand that this may be the preference of most guests, we made multiple requests to have some of the meats prepared medium to medium-well. Unfortunately, our requests were never fulfilled. By this time, the average wait between servings felt like 15-20 minutes, and we ended up spending more than two hours at the restaurant. Our expectations for Fogo de Chão were high, as we often visit the Beverly location where the meat is always cooked to our liking, and the service is top-notch. This experience, however, left both myself and my mother (whom I brought for the first time) quite disappointed. The supervisor on duty tried to make it right by charging us the market table price and offering complimentary dessert. However, by that point, we didn't feel like having dessert because our stomachs were already unsettled from the undercooked meat. While the discount was appreciated, it felt like a hollow gesture given that we left most of our food uneaten. Despite having a reservation, we still had to wait a long time to be seated and the host never explained the reason for the delay. The lack of communication and disorganized service made our experience very frustrating. On top of the delays, our server seemed unfamiliar with what was listed on the restaurant's own website. When I asked questions, she wasn't able to give clear answers, and I eventually had to ask for a supervisor to explain. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, the staff couldn't even provide me with a name and simply told me the manager was "busy somewhere." That lack of accountability and professionalism only added to the frustration. We asked for additional orders multiple times, yet our server failed to bring them to the table. It wasn't just once--it happened a couple of times, and our requests were simply ignored. That kind of service is unacceptable. Even paying the bill was frustrating--it took 15-20 minutes just to get the check, then more waiting after asking for corrections before we finally got the final tab. As a fan of Brazilian steakhouses, I was excited to visit Fogo de Chão in Pasadena, but unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations. The market table was fresh, well-stocked, and offered a good variety of salads, cheeses, and sides. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with an upscale atmosphere that's perfect for a special occasion. Where the experience struggled was with the service and meat execution. Throughout the meal, the gauchos frequently had difficulty identifying the doneness of the cuts they were serving. Several cuts advertised as medium-rare arrived much closer to medium-well or well-done, which was disappointing for a restaurant known for its churrasco experience. Additionally, many of the premium cuts we were looking forward to rarely made it to our table. We found ourselves repeatedly requesting specific meats, and even then, there were long gaps before they appeared. At a premium price point, guests shouldn't have to continuously ask for the signature cuts that are part of the experience. Overall, the food had moments of excellence, but inconsistent service and challenges with meat availability and doneness kept this visit from reaching the level expected of a high-end Brazilian steakhouse. My husband, striving to give me a memorable birthday celebration, made dinner reservations at your restaurant. We arrived hopeful, intending to fully indulge in the unique dining experience you promote. However, this notion was counteracted by the noticeable lack of service we received from our waitress. Despite being made aware of the occasion, our waitress disregarded what we assumed was standard protocol - presenting us with the green/red coaster. The result? We were left visibly frustrated, and feeling largely ignored, as we watched an array of meats pass us by, not offered to us even once. To compound this indolence further, she didn't offer to refill our drinks, an elementary gesture of attentiveness missing in our experience. However, I should not fail to mention an exception - one of your roving meat servers. He exhibited the level of customer service we expected, noticing that I wasn't enjoying myself and even going the extra mile to cheer me up. His empathy is commendable and notably extraordinary, particularly when juxtaposed against the dismissive attitude of our waitress. The disheartening effect of our waitress's negligence is amplified by the fact that it ruined an occasion meant to provide some much-needed cheer in light of the fact that my sister had passed away the day before. Her aloofness was the worst experience I have ever endured, especially on my birthday, a day that now holds a shadow of sorrow, further darkened by your establishment's unprofessionalism. read more

Disappointing Service Experience at Fogo de Chao - Avoid Bella! Rating: (1/5) I chose Fogo de Chao to celebrate my daughter's birthday, because of the promising reviews about their excellent customer service. Little did I know, this visit turned out to be a major letdown, all thanks to our server, Bella ( I hope she really gave her real name) Right from the start, Bella's attitude was very obvious. It seemed like she was doing us a favor by serving us. Throughout our meal, she checked on our table only once, leaving us feeling neglected and frustrated. When we requested something, it took ages for her to respond. The final one came when we asked for the bill. After a considerable wait, we discovered Bella went on her break without informing us. It was only when my daughter investigated that we realized she had left us hanging. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable, especially for a party of ten. To make matters worse, when my daughter brought up our complaint to someone who appeared to be a manager, there was no real resolution offered. For a restaurant of this caliber, one would expect at least a bit of decency in service. Needless to say, we won't be returning to this location. I'd rather travel farther and experience better service elsewhere. Fogo de Chao needs to address issues like this promptly if they want to maintain their reputation. As for Bella, she needs a serious attitude adjustment or perhaps a different line of work altogether. read more
