Our family went for the first time to Fogo de Chao on 10/16/23. We went for dinner and we opted for the experience. I had high expectations as I have had many people tell me it was excellent. The service was great and the salad bar was awesome. We chose to dine at Fogo for the meat and I was disappointed. With the exception of the prime rib the beef was over cooked. All of the meat except the lamb lacked season. I do not think it was worth the $$$. Ambiance was nice and I tipped generously since the wait staff was very prompt and attentive. Not sure if I will dine at Fogo again. read more

Please be advised that the servers will fraudulently edit their tip and you won't notice until you have left. My father left a cash tip of 200$ and the servers decided that that money was not enough for our 700$ bill and tried to sneakily add on another 90$ into there pockets off of his card. I'd advise anyone that goes here to pay cash. Have multiple complaints with the BBB of their servers doing this and can see that this restaurant is okay with fraud and untrustworthy employees stealing from their patrons. The manager was pretty aggressive with passing out QR codes to leave a review, so here you go: Not quite a full trainwreck, but pretty close to it. Had a reservation for the family as our oldest is turning 18 and he LOVES Brazilian steakhouses. We have been to Fogo many times, including this location. I have no idea what was wrong last night, but I'll definitely think twice before we return to this location. Our initial server seemed like he was going to provide the usual top-notch service, until a couple of minor hiccups popped up. Then his mood turned on us really quickly. Three of the nine family members didn't go with the full experience menu option due to a variety of dietary restrictions and other desires. All three of them struggled to get decent service. Then the crew running around with the various cuts of meat seemed to only visit one side of the table or straight up passed our table, and we were right next to the kitchen's exit. Our server's irritation kicked up because we kept having to request getting meat service. I'll fully admit that two of our family members have a history of being difficult to deal with. Not total Karen levels, but can get close. Somehow both of them managed to maintain their composure through everything so that shouldn't have impacted the overall experience. The final issues were one of the desserts ordered didn't arrive until after most of the others had finished theirs and we mentioned the missing order. The bill was also incorrect as too many full-price meals were charged, and they forgot to charge for a bottle of wine. The server we originally had was visibily irritated with our table and avoided us for the most part. Another server, who was great, and a manager ended up handling most of the night. They comped the desserts, which was nice. I'm hoping it was just an off night though. Definitely out of character for Fogo. read more

Our server Alexander was having a bad night. I wasn't scared by the service reviews and neither should you. First time dining here and it is beautiful. Seated right away for our reservation and sat at a table close to two other tables in this busy restaurant on a Friday night at 745pm. Drinks received rather quickly but the shrimp cocktail took forever. We were told 10 minutes for the app. We went to the "salad bar" and it was amazing. I could have eaten a meal solely off it, in fact, next time I might! An assortment of premium sliced cured meats, artisanal cheeses, several delicious compound salads, an incredible assortment of roasted vegetables and tropical fruits. I didn't even try the soups they had available. I tried to eat this first plate slowly since my meal consisted of an assortment of freshly cooked meats on skewers being shaved tableside. We had a $25 shrimp cocktail appetizer coming. I waited on the meats. We didn't really see Alexander very much at this time, I'm sure he was busy, it's a large restaurant and we were sat just before what seemed like half of the restaurant were finishing their meals and desserts. Those tables were reset almost as quickly as they had left. I was looking for someone, anyone on staff to make eye contact to find out when our shrimp would reach a mature enough age to be prepared for our starter. Fortunately there is staff everywhere. Busboys pulling plates, server assistants refilling drinks, food runners walking by with skewers of roasted meats and multiple managers filling in the gaps where needed. Another server went to check on our shrimp. Our server showed up and now we have two people looking for our shrimp. What seemed like another ten minutes they show up. We finish them and now we are waiting for her salmon. Luckily two of the managers working, one male and one female saved the day. We saw her two more times and him four more times. More like No-go de Chão. So, so beyond disappointed. We had our Valentine's Day reservation for well over a month. When we arrived at the time of our reservation, we were told we would still have to wait an additional hour at the least. The place was absolutely packed with others who had also been told that they would have to wait for their reservations (kind of defeats the purpose of a reservation but whatever). They very, very clearly overbooked their restaurant and did not have the staff to support it. The hostesses up front were understandably stressed but it resulted in bad attitudes from them. They were incredibly short with us and one of them raised her voice at my husband for reminding her that we had been waiting for 45 minutes *already* for a reservation we have had for a month. Infuriating doesn't even begin to cut it. I don't know if it was a lack of staff or if they were just ridiculously overwhelmed, but jesus, I've never seen the place in the state that it was in and I've never seen worse service. Maybe management needs to hire better or more staff? We walked down to North Italia, were seated immediately (despite not having a reservation), and had the best service ever. North Italia completely saved our Valentine's Day that Fogo de Chão almost ruined. After looking at previous Valentine's Day reviews from 2022, 2021, and even 2020, it appears that our experience wasn't unique. It seems to be a trend for Fogo to overbook their restaurant on holidays and to turn people away when they can't fit them in. You'd rather turn people away than even chance any empty tables, huh? We chose the Best of Brazil cuts menu option and what a disappointment. Not only is the lobster bisque no longer a staple (replaced with corn chowder :-(, many of the options on the salad bar sat empty for most of the evening. Service was very sporadic and water glasses sat empty for longer than we cared for (especially with the salty sirloins that continued). We also waited - and waited - for most of the meat options on this menu to be brought around and still never saw 1/2 of the menu items. Lamb, pork chop, pork belly. Nonexistent or else it was never brought around to us. Our menu listed mashed potatoes and crispy polenta (other previous staples). No longer available either. Wouldn't recommend until service and food offerings are improved. read more

Had a great time with my brother here. The service here is delightful, and it is such a pleasant atmosphere here. The meats were top notch. My personal favorite was the garlic picanha. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures because we devoured the food before we got the chance. The salad bar is a good place to start before the main courses come in. Be prepared though, are extremely good and extremely heavy. If you are in the Legacy West area looking for some prime cut meats, I would come here no doubt. We always love Fogo but during our recent visit, it was very busy and seemed under staffed. At times, it felt like our table was forgotten but thankfully Andrew came to the rescue! I've had better steak at Golden Corral. First and last experience here. I had never been to a Brazilian steakhouse so we decided to try it. Nice place, decor etc. Pretty crowded but we were seated ahead of our reservation time. First I will say do anything you can to not sit at a table that borders the salad bar, that's where we were seated and peoples butts were in our face the entire time, one guys coat tail literally was in our mashed potatoes. The food was the biggest disappointment. The filet, the ribs, the lamb, never came by our table. The beef was mostly all overcooked, and the only beef that had any flavor was the sirloin if you got a portion with some bark on it. I seriously am not exaggerating when I say that most of it didn't even taste like it had been salt and peppered when prepped. We tried everything that came by and it was all mediocre at best, I do better on my backyard Weber. There are no sauces for any of the meats btw, prime rib dry... nah. I choked most of it down with a drink, reminds me of eating a dry turkey at thanksgiving, you are just trying to get it over with. So an expensive tasting of bland, dry, overcooked beef and pork, the chicken was the only item that had some flavor and wasn't dry. The filet mignon never made its way to our table even though we asked several times. Our mashed potatoes showed up with our dessert, glad it came with the meal and I wasn't paying extra for it. Now to my final point and I don't want to ding the restaurant for it and I didn't complain. I hate salad bars for this reason, the coarse curly black hair stuck to my crouton in my salad. That's what was staring at me before I took my first bite of food... I included a snapshot of the curly q below. I knew that it is unavoidable when you have hundreds of people congregating around and handling food that you may eat. So I wouldn't recommend this restaurant and I wish I had spent my $180 to take my wife to a nice steakhouse instead. Oh well, at least I have a story to tell. read more

Once they started bringing the meats, they brought the same chicken legs 3 times. We requested picanha several times and during the entire night, they brought it only once, AND was not enough for everyone in the table, we kept waiting and never came again. They kept bringing the same items over and over and over again. This place is very expensive and absolutely NOT WORTH IT at all!!!!! I brought my daughter for her birthday to the Plano location. We have always in the past gone to the Dallas one. What a disappointment. We all agreed that the food was overcooked and not as enjoyable. We were stuck by a window in the corner, and the service couldn't get to us very easily since they had some large parties. We ordered some desserts in which my daughter ordered her favorite creme brulee. Burned on top, tasted like charcoal, and couldn't finish it. My granddaughter ordered the chocolate cake, it was a little dry & crumbly and ended up eating the ice cream only. I think we had the expectations that it would be the same experience we've always had in the past, and it clearly wasn't. We won't be back. Not when you spend that kind of money on something so disappointing. read more
