So apparently, yelp removed this saying that updates can only be written as a new experience, not as an edit to a previous experience. Here is my new experience... Just had another set of rear brakes installed, as well as my 60K mile service at Hilltop Ford. After speaking with a friend about this, I was reminded that when I bought the van, I also purchased a Ford Maintenance Plan (72 months/100,000 miles) $2015.00, as well as a Premium Care Extended Service Plan (84 months/100,000 miles) $2710.00. My 2 rear sets and my 1 front set of brakes, oil changes and major maintenance should have been covered under these, but they were NEVER ENTERED into the database by Ford Fairfield! As a result, I have been paying out of pocket for these items...not to mention, they never validated the VIN of the vehicle before I drove it away so I had to take time out of my schedule to return there for that to be done. I purchased the vehicle at the end of December, 2018 and didn't get license plates until July of 2019; with the new license plate law that went into effect in January of 2019 (paper plates with VIN, etc), I was being pulled over at least once a month...more of my time wasted explaining to the officer(s) that it was not my fault! I was sold the vehicle on a Saturday, it had not been detailed and I was asked if I wanted to wait 3 hours for that to be done or choose to make an appointment to get it done at a later date...3 hours, I opted to get it done by appointment. The day I took it in for the VIN verification, I figured I may as well get it detailed so I would never have to darken the doorstep of this dealership again. When I asked about that, I was told they don't do detailing on Saturdays! Nothing but lies and runarounds from day 1. I plan to pay them a visit at my earliest convenience (although driving to Fairfield to be lied to and given the runaround by these folks yet again will never be convenient), stay tuned...I'm sure the saga will continue! Also, I love how Mike W. sends these stupid and condescending replies like he actually cares...has Mike contacted anyone personally or has anyone gotten any resolution from any issues expressed in these reviews? read more

I took my 2018 F150 in for diagnosis, my brake controller wasn't working. It's an after market ford product, I pull a 26 foot travel trailer so I do need trailer brakes. On 9/18 I had an 8:30 appointment, so I was early went to register and asked wait time. I was told there's 6 cars in front so afternoon maybe, but I have an appointment do these cars? Not all of them, now I'm getting upset, why is there waiting for cars without appointments in front of cars with appointment, why do you make appointments, Areli said its an appointment to get in line. You should tell people this, I would've been here even earlier and made arrangements to go home. I hung out for a few hours in hopes of advancement, NOT, so I asked if there's a shuttle for rides? She called for lyft they took me home. Hearing nothing from her until 14:00 letting me know they're finally working on my truck, at 15:30ish got a call it's ready for pickup, had an error code and faults, all are fixed and update installed $255.00 Got a ride there, asked Areli if they tested it? We don't have anything to test with, but you're good to go. I asked if you can't test how's it good to go? The tech and computer cleared all errors. Fast forward next day, I go to hook up trailer, trailer status shows no trailer attached, and no gains or brake pressure either, so much for good to go. Took the truck back in talked to Areli again let her know my truck isn't fixed, so what's our next step, how do you make this right? Said she could set another appointment to be in line in a few days, also asked if I'd be charged again? Yes, new appointment. But you didn't fix the problem! Now I'm pissed, why charge me again when you didn't fix the problem! She said she has to talk to her manager, let me talk to him. He's at lunch and will be back in 30 minutes, ok have him call please, I'll be out walking the lot. I came back later he still wasn't back. Asked what's going on, she said talk to out tech, asking him what can they do? We don't have the ability to test a 7 prong tow plug, but we can test again for other problems. I don't know if there's another problem, you said it was good to go yesterday, did you diagnosis my truck, if so how and how can you say it's good to go? I rest the faults and error code and ran the updates, I just couldn't test the controller without a plug. Why should I bring it back when your tech can't properly diagnose, you don't have the proper tools. Areli gave me a paper with with Seirra Truck and Camper, I called them they said to bring it out they'll take a look. They found 3 blown fuses, an problems with the brake controller, possibly the wiring harness. They suggest an aftermarket replacement, ok put it in tested,gave me a tutorial on how to 3 hours in and out, no problems. Very disappointed in Fairfield Ford, I've bought 2 trucks and a car from them, done my services through them, it's changed so much from the Chet Monez Ford days. If you can't do the right diagnosis don't say you are good to go. People rely on your supposed expertise, and your services manager never did call me. You've lost a good customer. He initially contacted me to purchase my vehicle and gave me honest feedback about my vehicle and it's worth. Unfortunately, I wasn't ready to sell at that time. However, Jacob did give me excellent advice to take to other dealers whenever I was ready sell my car and purchase a new. Like everyone else wanting a Bronco, we too were told about the long wait for them. After visiting what seemed like ALL the dealerships and learning about the high markups, we immediately reached out to Fairfield Ford and spoke with Brian Rice (direct sales manager). He told us there would be no markup and he could help us with the purchase. Driving to Fairfield from San Francisco seemed like a long trip, but well worth the 10K+ in savings we would get from choosing this dealership. He made the purchase process simple and fast. Then came the waiting period - close to a year - just like he said it would be (so did all the other dealerships). He took our pestering calls and texts weekly for 8 months without complaint! He always provided status updates and assured us we were not bothering him. On the day of the actual pick-up, he was waiting for us with a big grin. He walked us through the process very quickly. I had to bring my parents car in for service and a host of other problems in order to get the vehicle to pass smog. Jake in the service department totally answered all my questions & concerns and kept excellent communication with me as the vehicle was there for several days. Would have given 5 stars if not for a minor oversight that was by no means a safety concern, rather an inconvenience of having to return so they could pull some serial numbers for Ford that a tech had overlooked. Update on my last post. It turns out they sold us LEMON!!! The damage the vehicle had when we purchased the vehicle which they put a due bill on what they thought was the issue ended up being more severe. So on Thursday the 24th of August Scott called my husband and said they would be buying the vehicle back from him because they will have to sell the vehicle in a auction due to the damage that was found. Scott said the check would be cut Monday which is August 28th. It is not Wednesday August 30th and we are here in person to remove our belongings from the vehicle. They told my husband they had no idea where the vehicle was so he had to walk around and look for OUR vehicle because we still own it, we removed our items from The vehicle and are waiting here for the check. Scott keeps putting us off. He said the check would be cut Monday and now on Wednesday he is telling he is waiting for corporate to give him the ok to cut the check. Well we just got off the phone with corporate and corporate told us that if a vehicle is being bought back from the dealership they have nothing to do with that and no approval is needed from them. She said we have to work with the dealership to get the check as they are the only ones that can issue the check to us and they don't need approval from corporate. Fast Forward two years. We've only put on less than 5000 on the vehicle since we bought it. It sits in the garage most of the time as we have two other vehicles. Took the Expedition to Folsom Ford to have a safety recall performed. I asked them to check the front suspension as it didn't feel right and wheel balancing didn't correct the issue. It was discovered that the two front shocks were leaking and had been leaking for sometime. These are special dampening shocks that are about $600 a piece plus labor. Folsom Quoted $1600 to replace two shocks. Checked my warranty and found they weren't covered. I also discovered that Fairfield Ford did a bait and switch on us with the warranty. Sales agreement said 0 deductible but wrote the warranty with a $100 deductible. I reached out to the GM who you see in my first review acting concerned as if he cared but I quickly realized that was simply damage control on Yelp. The GM Michael W. didn't call me back instead he had someone by the name of Jae Jae call me. At first, I thought we'd get the warranty issue resolved and at minimum they would replace the shocks at their cost. AGAIN, this was a certified pre owned vehicle where they claim it goes through a rigorous inspection of something like 139 point inspection. Bunch of bullshit!! Had they done this inspection they would have seen the leaking shocks. I'm sure they drove it to put the new tires on it at which time they would have discovered warped rotors and tires out of balance. I think the old tires showed wear from being out of balance, out of alignment and failed shocks which is probably the only reason they were replaced to hide the issues. But.. they didn't get that right either. I later had to have all the lug nuts cut off and replace a couple months after we bought it. Back to the issue....Jae Jae calls me asks for info to be emailed to her so she can have the warranty corrected. Emailed her, few days later I follow up, no response. I respond again. She finally responds stating she doesn't have both invoices for reimbursement of the two deductibles we had paid and asked me to call her. Am I not the customer? Easier for her to call me than me to call and spend half an hour on the phone to get her but I did and she didn't answer. Left a message and emailed her again. Same response asking me to call her. In the meantime the service manager was apparently working to see if he could get some assistance from Ford for the shocks. After the 3rd day of not hearing from him I called him. He was aware of the issue and proceeded to tell me there were no programs from Ford to help and the best he could do would be to give me their cost of $2500 to replace the two shocks. I said Folsom quoted $1600 and that's not at their cost. He then tried to give me some line that his labor rate is much higher. Complete BS all the way around. I ended up calling Ford myself and within minutes they shared a program that would cover 50% or more of the repair. Had the repair done at Folsom Ford for $800. Once again, this is the absolute worst dealership I have ever had to work with. They're difficult and think they're in an ivory tower, do not want to help and will actually set you up to pay more. If you're thinking of buying here, RUN!! It'll bite you in the ass in the long run. They have no clue of customer service. It's all about the big $$$. The GM has never answered my messages or reached out to me directly. He took the cowardly way of asking someone else to call me. read more

My Ford Edge Sport had broke down in the middle of a winter storm. Turns out it was the crankshaft casing which was under warranty. Just the trip from hell. Within a day the engine light came in so I called the service department in Reno and they said it was probably just a loose connection. The light went off and stayed off for a few weeks. Then it was going on and off for awhile and I finally took it into FairField Ford. Told them that i just had the warranty work done a month or so ago and what they said could be the issue. Here is the issue and where I'm really upset. The service rep said he didn't think it would be covered under warranty and wanted $160 to do a diagnostic check. I didn't even hesitate and told him "give me my keys" and drove off. I remembered Aamco does a free diagnostic check so I drove over to their shop. There were 8 cars in front of me BUT the owner heard my story and without hesitation got his diagnostic reader and let me know it was the gas cap had a very very slight emissions leak. We cleaned the gas cap and the engine light hasn't come on since. TOTAL COST at AAMCO = 0 yes that's a ZERO WHICH IS THE SCORE I GIVE Fairfield Ford Service Department !!!!!! read more

I needed to get the oil changed on my 2017 Focus RS. I called around to 4 local dealers to find out what their prices were. I was totally clear with each one that I needed full synthetic 5W50 oil as that's what the specs are for the car. Fairfield Ford came back with the lowest price, so I made an appointment for yesterday. When I showed up, I was given a totally different (higher) price. When I said that I had been quoted $90-100 over the phone, the service advisor laughed at me and said that they could never do a full synthetic oil change at that price. He said that I must not have told the person on the phone that I needed full synthetic. I told him that I was 100% clear on the phone and that their service advisor was wrong. I asked if there was anything we could do on the price since I was already there but he completely brushed me off. He said "nope, no way" and turned away from me and took the paperwork away and then walked away from the service desk. Incredibly rude. The service advisor showed zero respect and treated me as if I was trying to scam them. I basically got a bait-and-switch - I'm sure that they hoped that I would pay the higher price since I was already there. I purchased an F150 here on Sunday night from Lucas. The day before (Saturday) I spent 4 hours with my wife and 3 kids at another Ford dealership deciding on an exact F150. The other dealership told me the truck was in Ukiah and was closed as of 2pm and not open Sunday (come to find out Ukiah was open until 6pm and open Sunday). Meaning that the earliest I could get the truck was by Tuesday without driving 2.5 hours to Ukiah. Sadly we went home without the truck. Sunday I decided to just google the VIN, come to find out it says the truck is in Fairfield not Ukiah. At around 5:30pm I called Fairfield and Lucas answered, I told him the VIN of the truck I was looking for and he double checked that it was indeed on their lot. I mentioned the ordeal the day before and that I was not looking to come and waste each others time, and I only wanted that specific truck. He suggested to save some time that I could do the credit part online so that when I got there it would be a smoother transaction. I reinforced that this is the ONLY truck I want, and to triple check that it is there before driving an hour for a bait and switch. He went out while on the phone with me to physically get the truck and lock the key so it would not be sold. They close at 9pm, and my family and I got there at about 8:20pm. Lucas greeted us as we were getting out of the car. He and the other staff were all kind and courteous to my family and I during the whole process. They ended up staying at the dealership until around 10:45pm while we finished the transaction and transferred all of our stuff from our trade-in to the new vehicle. Awful service department and communication! Our cmax has received 3 new batteries in 9 months. Ford had our car for 30 days and kept saying that they were behind because the service tech called in sick or that they were waiting on a part. When we finally got our car back-we went down to LA just to have the battery die again. We took it to a Ford down south who were more than accommodating even though Ford Fairfield failed to FAX the work order showing that the battery was replaced less than a month prior. Which brings us to 8 months later and the battery has died again. Ford is now replacing the battery again. We will be taking our Ford to Woodland to find out what the problem is since the trust we have in Ford is nonexistent. We are in the market for a new car and WILL never consider Ford in Fairfield. Once they get you to buy their car-their customer service disappears. Came in to purchase a used Volkswagen Golf. Car was priced right and was in generally good shape. Being a Ford dealership they didn't have great knowledge on the car but that is to be expected. We worked with John and Rafael, both were great guys. Everyone was friendly and helpful. John did a lot of legwork with F&I to get us approved despite not so perfect credit. The sales process did take a long time but that mostly had to do with it being a Saturday, a usually busy day for dealerships; as well as us not coming with our finacing fully arranged. Though I do feel like the sales dept. would benefit from adding a salesperson or two for peak times. The car was not clean when we arrived at the dealership, and had a few small repair items needed. The dealership set me up with a Due Bill for the items to handle that. Detailing went home at 5 (which is odd considering sales was still closing as late as 7-8 pm), but Raefel took up the slack and got the car nice and clean. I appreciate sales guys going the extra mile even on an inexpensive used car. Overall it was a good experience and anytime you get to drive off the lot in a new(or used) car thats a win in my book. read more

I'll start off by saying that in dealing with Ford Fairfield, everything that could go wrong went wrong.  It was a frustrating, aggravating experience that cost me time and money. From the beginning, I told the manager Jeff that I was interested in the Mustang Mach e strictly as a lease.  I wanted to take a test drive and potentially put in an order.  I clearly informed him that was because I did not qualify for the full federal tax credits and by leasing the vehicle, the manufacturer would keep the credit and deduct it up front.  Jeff had confirmed, by email, an appointment to meet me at the dealership on Friday at 10:30 a.m. First red flag: Jeff wasn't there.  So the concierge handed me off to Raffa, who came out from his work area.  With Raffa, I had to start the whole narrative all over again from the beginning: the vehicle I was interested in and the rebate programs I found and why I needed to lease the vehicle.  Raffa took me for the test drive, during which he told me that the Mustang Mach e is not available as a lease, but provided me with information regarding a balloon payment program.  After the test drive, Raffa handed me off to another associate because he had an appointment scheduled, then he left.  This last person repeated what Raffa told me but the accuracy of this is questionable because Ford's own website offers a lease option for this vehicle. I spent $30 round trip in gasoline and bridge tolls to keep my scheduled appointment, just to find out that Jeff didn't keep the appointment, and that leasing the Mustang Mach e was not an option, something I could have been told by email. Ford Fairfield demonstrated an overly casual and disorganized way to treat a customer.  Better training of associates would help, but before that, a sense of commitment and responsibility is needed. If I could give zero stars I would. Let me caution you before buying a car from this dealer. They are LIARS! I came to this dealer with not so great credit, and I was looking at a used Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. Once I got to the dealership and spent a good amount of time looking at the Honda and Toyota I was told that they could only finance me into a 2013 Chrysler 200. They were hell bent on putting me into this car, and not being knowledgeable in car buy and a female I fell for this CRAP! They also Lied and said I could refinance this car in a year if I made the payments on time which was another LIE. When I bought the car they sold me on a bunch of unnecessary extras. They told me that the 2013 Chrysler was a high theft vesicle and I needed some sort of theft insurance and they led me to believe I needed a 60k extended warranty which really only gave me 30k extra coverage. Long story short The Chrysler 200 is a LEMON and the BIGGEST PILE OF JUNK! They wanted me in this car because it is know as a BIG PILE OF JUNK, and it had been sitting on the lot forever and they wanted this car off there lot! In any case when I drove the car on the freeway I noticed a ticking sound, but it would go away. I called a few times complaining of the ticking, but when I brought it in they told me the car was fine. The manager even told me he had to PAY to get the lender to finance me, and I was lucky to have this car! (ANOTHER LIE) The car continued to have the ticking sound never (I was not crazy) They even said they would send to Chrysler, and did, but the ticking continued. The car has an air bag issue and we have taken to Chrysler and it is still not fixed, and a single mom with 4 kids drives this car which is unsafe! I have had several offers to refinance, but have tried and because this car is such a pile of JUNK it is worth 4k but I owe 10k!!!! Can't Refinance! They lie and tell you that you can refinance, but the issue with high interest loans is that you pay interest for years, and as soon as you drive the car off the lot it is worth nothing, and you can't refi. On top of all this the car recently broke and is not running. We have had a mechanic look at this car and they said they will not work on this car because it is a LEMON and it is impossible to fix things because you have to pull apart half the engine to replace anything. Also the clicking sound is something that drains the battery so I need to buy a new battery every year. THIS CAR IS A LEMON and this dealership is a bunch of LIARS ! Stay away. They wouldn't do the right thing when I bought the car and first explained the problems. (If I had they Toyota or Honda I wanted I would be fine and at least I'd have a car to drive. As the manager said - I am lucky to get into this car because I had not so good credit and get financed in a 2013 Chrysler 200 that didn't run right from they day I bought it, and it can't be fixed, it can't be refied so basically I am working 2 jobs now so I can get another car and pay the TEN THOUSAND that I owe on this car that doesn't run and sit in my driveway! read more
