Been here twice, one week apart. My first trip was a 5 star, the second was a 3 star. First trip: friendly service and helpful manager. The food was all tasty, but just cold. The manager was really awesome about apologizing and did say that they're trying to make things smoother. Since they are newly opened, I think it's to be expected. The whole table loved the pretzels starter which was fresh, and the honey mustard and beer cheese dipping sauces were delicious. Also great was the patty melt, which was cooked perfectly. Again, all the food was tasty, but all of it was cold. Second trip: food was ok. We had the pretzels starter which was still amazing. The buffalo dip was good, but nothing to write home about. Chunks of chicken and cheese with buffalo sauce and a side of tortilla chips. The patty melt was good again, as were the cheeseburgers we ordered. The big miss of the night was the meatloaf. It was dry and the ends were crusty and crunchy. The whole thing was covered in a brown sauce. I asked our server about it and he said that it was supposed to have a burnt crispy edge and the brown gravy because they want it to be as authentically homemade as possible. It was very bland and didn't remind me of any meatloaf that I've ever had. The other miss was the Magner's cider, which the server said was their home brand. It was disgusting. It tasted like it was off, or at least had an unpleasant flavor that we couldn't pinpoint. I know that they are still working out the kinks of a new restaurant, but I must say that our server Sage wasn't exactly the friendliest. He almost had an attitude like we were annoying him. He was nice enough to switch out the Magner's cider for a regular Red Orchard one, but when he sees that the entire plate of meatloaf went uneaten and I specifically told him that I didn't enjoy it, he never made an offer to trade out the dish for something else. Nor did he take it off the bill. It's a courtesy that is offered by most restaurants, but he really didn't seem to care at all. I ended up eating when I got home. Would I return here? Probably. But, it won't be for a while. Kudos to the great job that the manager is doing! It's not easy to make a restaurant run smoothly when it's brand new. The new Ford Garage is on point! This is the opening week of for Ford in Plano. We were welcomed by Tasha and she gave impeccable service throughout our dinner. For appetizers we had fried pickles and Nashville Hot Chicken Wings. The fried pickles had a crumbly crust and served with cucumber wasabi ranch. The wings were crispy and had a great taste! The wings with a side could have definitely been a meal of its own. The BBQ Brisket Burger was on point! Well seasoned patty, good flavor Brisket, bacon, cheddar cheese and purple onion..... oh my! The Mac n cheese was ok, but I added a little of the Nashville hot oil and it zipped it up! Even tho it was opening week, everything flowed as if they had been doing it a while. 10/10 place to go! read more

Had to try this burger spot since my friends and I have been on the search for the best burger in DFW! This place did not disappoint. Between the three of us we got the Jiffy burger, estate, and the mushroom Swiss. Sides we got a salad, fries and tots. Drinks we tried the blinker, the frozen spiked lemonade, and the liberty. I think we all agreed the Liberty was delicious and so refreshing. Overall really enjoyed the burgers, cooked perfectly and juicy. But sometimes with a juicy burger, comes a soggy bun and unfortunately when my burger came the bottom bun was already flattened and falling apart. But that is my only complaint, still ate it all though! read more

Drinks: We watched our server conversing with the hosts while our adult beverage sat at the bar for about 10 minutes. Food: She took our appetizer order a good 7-10 minutes before our food order, but she brought out the appetizer and immediately went back to the kitchen to bring our meals out. She didn't ask how we wanted our burgers cooked but assumed medium would do. She was not attentive and did not check back despite the empty glass on the table. She brought our check without asking if there was anything else we wanted (like dessert or another beer). Ambiance: The decor was unique, think 70's filling station. The music was at a conversational level, which would've brought us back IF the service had been good. Side note: It wasn't busy. A friend told us about Ford's Garage and the great burgers, so we decided to try it out. We've officially become "regulars!" The atmosphere is so much fun, but I'll get to that below. Of course the food is what keeps us coming back. Sometimes ya just need a great burger, and for us, Ford's Garage never disappoints. Each burger is "endorsed" by a local VIP (think the major, community leaders, fire chief, etc.) which is really fun. Your burger will be cooked to your specification every time, and these folks are happy to make substitutions as you wish. My favorite is the BBQ Brisket burger which has cheddar cheese, bourbon BBQ Sauce, delicious smoked brisket, bacon, and yummy crispy onion straws on a fresh brioche bun. I leave off the red onions since it has onion straws. All that is piled on top of the hamburger patty... yes brisket ON a burger! Two of this carnivore's favorites in one meal. My second favorite is the patty melt. It has Swiss cheese, caramelized onions, and Thousand Island dressing on rye bread. One of the best patty melts I've had. Of course burgers come with sides. My go-to is sweet potato tots with caramel dipping sauce. It's like dessert! I dream about those tots. SOOooo good. My husband hasn't landed on a favorite yet as he's still trying their many offerings. He said it will be hard to choose a favorite because everything he has tried has been great. Now the atmosphere... so fun! The original Ford's Garage restaurant is in Florida near the winter home of Henry Ford. The Plano location is the only store in Texas at this time. You'll be be greeted outside by two huge bubbling "gas pumps" situated between a couple of replica Model Ts, which make for a fun photo op. The lobby/waiting areas have bench seating made from Ford pickup tailgates. The walls are adorned with all kinds of Ford memorabilia. The waitstaff wear "garage mechanic" shirts, and there is a car mounted above the bar with turning wheels, "exhaust", and the occasional old-timey horn. The napkins are "shop towels" with clamps as napkin rings. Don't forget to visit the restrooms where you'll find big tires as sinks and gas pump nozzles as faucets. Every detail in the restaurant has been addressed cleverly, and it is a great family spot for photos and great meals. There are multiple TVs throughout the bar and dining areas to catch some of the big game while you enjoy your meal. We have taken friends from other states to Ford's Garage, and everyone enjoys the food and atmosphere. Check it out the next time you're craving a great burger! read more

I had my first time experience here and i must say it is quite excellent! Arriving, i was intrigued by the wait time that occurred around six or seven pm. It was decently packed when arriving but i guess thats a statement on its own. Plus i was looking for a bar seat anyways, took a moment to seat at the bar but it didnt take long at all. Lucky me. The interior theme and atmosphere was on point and scenic! So far, both patrons and staff had been very pleasant. It seemed to be a grand warm welcome! A very lively spot. Kaeli i believe was the name of my bartender and she was very good and kind. A bit busy at the bar so I understand the drink rush priority. Her and the other bartender were attentive and caring They surprisingly do a lot of birthday dessert presentations, when it happens the car above the bar honks and releases some steam. It kinda reminded me of the "ziggy piggy" dessert scene from Bill and Teds excellent adventure. Lol One fun side note, the bathrooms were cool and amausing. See pics for validation. - Now to the good shit, the menu. A fair amount of stuff to choose from, from both food and beverages. The dish chosen was the Chicken Henry. A grilled chicken with a lemon based type of sauce with some sun dried tomatoes and goat cheese. Absolutely fantastic and makes my mouth water. I am more of a steak and burger kinda guy so this change up was pleasant and i will be back for it. You have multiple sides you can choose from, from a base side like fries and broccoli to premium sides for a dollar or so more like a salas and what not. The beverages consumed were a Guinness draft beer, always a good thing to have to puff up appeal! The paloma was good too, albeit a tad smaller but im just being nit-picky. They way the Paloma was made here was very good and is on par with one of my favorite Palomas at another restaurant, which is not a common thing i say. So keep it up! And for "dessert", i had a Old Fashion and it was just the thing to end the experience with. I honestly may repeat most of what i ordered because it was that good. I may give a milkshake or burger a try, we shall see! (Side note, but fingers crossed that they make alcohol infused milkshakes in the future... wink wink nudge nudge. *clicks tongue) Pricing wise, so far the quality is justifiable but that is by some lucky circumstances in restaurant that helped my viewpoint the first time. Its around a mid/high tier so id say wait for happy hour or show up for special outing or if you need a picker upper after a bad day. In conclusion, I implore that the owners and managers take a pragmatic pride into their restaurant, staff and menu. This was a excellent experience with barely any hiccups and i was fairly surprised. This place has a potential charm to it and i can foresee it being a very lively hotspot. There seems a fair neglect of quality with the work force that affect the product and staff elsewhere but not here. I will be back. I will tell others. I cant wait to explore more of the menu. read more

Being from the Motor City, I have yet to dine at one of these. Saturday 9pm had a bit of a wait so my sis in law and I grabbed the last 2 chairs at the bar. The bar tender, with her hands full of meals she was about to drop off was sure to welcome us and let us know she would be over ASAP. impressive selection of draft beer. It was perfectly cold and you don't have to worry about it getting warm if you're at the bar because you have a strip of ice skating rink to set it on. The Mushroom Swiss Burger with a pretzel bun was delicious! Their fries are thick and perfectly seasoned. The portion of salmon was big and tasted fresh. I stopped by Ford's Garage for a weekday lunch and had no trouble getting seated. The decor was well thought out-even the restroom fit the retro garage theme of the restaurant. Throughout the meal, the service was good! I ordered the Model A burger. The bun was nicely warmed and crisp. The burger toppings tasted fresh and were flavorful. Unfortunately, the burger patty was a little dry and lacked seasoning. I thought the burger was a good size, but the patty was pretty disappointing. The burger also came with a side of fries, and they were nice and crisp! Overall, the restaurant is a really fun place with good service, but the burger itself fell a little short for me. read more

Fun place! In the area so thought we would try it for lunch. Hot day so treated ourselves to a cool beverage. I had the Model Tea - definitely recommend! Hubby had a Margarita and it is one of the best no frills margaritas we have tried - really good. Wanted to try the onion rings but the appetizer was way too many.. our server suggested just getting a side order and that was perfect. We split a Ford Signature burger and it was tasty. Did not seem like a half pound burger but it was plenty. Not the best bacon..a bit too Smokey - work get it without next time. The fries were epic!! This was such a nice place to get together with family! The service was fast and prompt and the food got out quickly as well. Didn't try any appetizers this time but we will next time. It's really loud there but not blaring loud like most packed places. The macaroni was incredibly delicious and flavorful, 9.5/10 for that. The fries were super delicious and the chocolate cake (with vanilla bean ice cream) was also a solid 10. The veggie burger I would give 0 stars. I didn't eat it. It was moist and just mushy and super wet. Really weird. I guess it was cauliflower or something packed with corn. They would benefit from having a pea protein burger or even Impossible. It was so bad I didn't eat even 2 bites. Highly recommend not getting the veggie burger unless they change it. Overall the restaurant was so cute and fun! Great service and the wait wasn't even bad. I had been eyeballing this place for some time as I love burgers and the atmosphere from pictures looked great. We arrived on a Friday at about 5pm. It was busy, with a 10-15 min wait stated by the host staff. It was a little weird seeing a bunch of 4-seat table tops in the bar section open, probably 8-10, but figured those were "bar seating" (seat yourself). So we waited our 12 mins and voila, we were called to the host table and then they proceeded to try to seat us in those high-seat 4-seat tops in the bar. Really weird. Like, they had 12 tables open for 10-15 mins but didn't seat them. Well, we had 2 young children (as we stated to host, thus needed a booth) -- so no biggie. We sat back down and within 2 mins a booth did open out that worked for our kids. Scenery of the place was nice. It was clean. But music was a bit too loud for the ambience as it made it hard to actually hear the people at our table. The waiter was good. But the expo (if they have one) was awful. Extra Crispy fries as ordered. Nope. Chicken strips underdone. Forgot sauces. I say expo as the food was not "run" out to us by our server. So the servers or "runners" (possibly) could have missed the food ticket or the expo. Either way, we asked our server to throw the kids chicken strips and fries back in the fryer and he graciously did and also noticed right away we didn't have our sauces. My wife got the buffalo chicken sandwich and it was very good. But when that came out, it also didn't have the bleu cheese sauce (side cup) included. So server had to get that. I ordered a medium well burger, which came out Medium-Rare. I don't mind that MR as I've eaten many MR burgers in my life as I've spend 20 years in the restaurant industry. But the burger was possibly the worst burger I've had in my life. It had no seasoning on it at all, no "SPG" (Salt-Pepper-Garlic) and the blend was not great, couldn't tell if it was an 80-20 (meat-fat) ratio or what, but it was horrible. My fries also came out mushy. Just a horrible experience, but the seasoning missing, no salt at all, and also missing the sauces on 3 tries was enough for a 1-star. But the drinks. The beers are $6.5-$8 for most pints that most restaurants have for $4-$6 each. A Shiner should not cost $7 for a pint. Sorry. Figure that out. I got a Jim Beam and Diet which was served in a Acopa Straight Up 7 oz. Highball Glass. Which was 50% ice. For $6. It was quite comical how expensive the drinks were. My wife ordered a *frozen* margarita, all of you who order a frozen margarita what happened, it came out on the rocks. Again, server didn't deliver it. But who's actually in charge of food and drink quality when it goes out to the tables? This was again, literally the worst experience I've had when it came to food quality and being able to deliver what was ordered. Photo of burger didn't come through or would have shared. 1st off take away the COOL FORD STUFF for car folks ..... this place offers great service, fun casual atmosphere AND TASTY FOOD. A group of us went this past Saturday for lunch, we are a Ford Truck Club and needed some space to eat as a group. Joe and Keith from the very 1st Minute were gracious, helpful and made every effort to accommodate us... AND took care of us. Our servers Dale and Melissa took care of everybody in the group and were TOP NOTCH... Oh and wait there was FOOD.... The food was delicious, hot stuff was hot, cold stuff was cold. Restaurant was clean the restrooms were clean and again from the minute we walked in the door to the minute we walked out we were all very happy with the experience. Lunch with coworkers today. It was the first time to visit for all of us. Great service; friendly, and attentive staff (not just our waitress...all staff). Fun atmosphere with several old Fords outside and inside the restaurant. Everyone enjoyed their food; favorites was the Bison Burger and the Brisket Ranchero burger. I really like that they have the 1/3 lb (smaller) burger options. I will definitely be coming back with my family...or maybe a happy hour (they have a good craft beer selection). Delicious burnt ends sandwich. Holy moley was that good. My one year old was fighting me for it the whole time (and winning!) It's also a visually fun restaurant to bring your baby as there was a lot of moving car related parts and bubbly gas tanks and so on. They had booster seats for the booth so we could really snuggle up during dinner. My server was the kindest, most patient lady. Offering recommendations and assistance whenever needed.
