I've always liked the old school feel of Foster's Freeze, and this visit was no different. The burgers and fries were good, and you really can't go wrong with the ice cream. The staff were friendly, and my order came out without a long wait. The outdoor seating has a nice retro vibe, although it could use a little more attention to make it feel more inviting. The prices are a bit higher than I'd expect, but the food and overall experience were still worth the stop.

I hope they stay around forever. A piece of history, some good old fashioned type of drive in burgers and desserts The Triple berry twister was delicious, some fruit to not feel as guilty haha even though you're eating a whole cup of sweet ice cream. Plenty of tables inside and outside though most people eat in their cars or take home

The chili fries were still as great as I remember. Crunchy large crinkly fries with just the right amount of chili and finely shredded cheese melted on the top, making every bite. Corn dog was great proportions to hot dog and batter. Old fashioned burgers were good. Zuchinni was also just right. Sundae was extra creamy goodness with the berries and whip cream.Delectable and satisfying.

Been going to here for years, it's been here for years with different owners. What is here now is local and always the best. Food here is always warm, fresh and crispy when fried. Frozen stuff does melt but is melting. Food is affordable and delicious classic American dinner style foods. I like their hot dogs, their fried food is great don't miss out. Service here is friendly, easy and accurate. You can wait in your car or find a seat, still able to hear. There is more outdoor seating, cleaning wipes, inside is classic looking with seating. Parking is plenty, when it gets busy it can be harder to find on the streets, but there is another lot in the back of the store. Overall, it's the nicer FF. I would recommend. Always coming back here.

Fosters Freeze is a really nostalgic feeling kind of burger restaurant. It's got a sort of classic American drive-in vibe to it that is kinda fun. Unfortunately, the building is a bit worn down. Definitely seen better days. That said, the burger was very solid, and the milkshakes are killer. Tons of great flavors, and they even blend in real fruit. Well worth the tiny bit more money to upgrade a combo to have a milkshake.

An old fashioned burger joint that's been around for nearly 80 years a true icon serving the best burgers and fries been coming out here for the past 10 years. Loved the cheeseburgers, fries and chicken tenders. Best to come by early and avoid the lunch crowd ample parking no dine-in but they have an outdoor patio and benches. Even though prices have gone up but still reasonably price loved the hot fudge parfait and twister ice cream definitely my go- to for a quick meal.

I always come to foster freeze for soft serve ice cream, and fries for snacks. They do have an extensive menu of burgers, ice, cream, and fries You order from one window and get your order from a second window when your number is called. The staff is friendly and efficient. There is a small parking lot in front of the building and a small number of tables outside for you to sit. Some customers just enjoy their food in their parked cars. The indoor seating is closed as it's dark and I see chairs stacked on top of tables. It is a very good place for dessert, I usually stop by when I have carvings for soft serve ice cream especially on a hot day

I honestly wouldn't come here for anything besides dessert.... After a not so good dinner experience for my toddler, I hopped on Yelp to see what was neighboring so I could quickly grab a burger for my hungry kid. Fosters Freeze popped up as being pretty close so we went with them. Purchases included: -Kid's cheeseburger meal [comes with small fries and small drink] -Worms N' Dirt Twister -Chocolate Sundae The cheeseburger would have been doable aside from the un-fresh bun. With my daughter naturally a lazy chewer, her bites caused for her to gag. I ended up having to removed the buns and had her eat around the dry areas of the patty. Fries were good- love the fact that they were crinkle cut fries and they weren't overcooked and hard. The fountain drink was the worst I had ever had [ not sure if the issue lies within the 7-Up only] Someone needs to either give that machine a DEEP DEEP CLEANING or they need to reassess the syrup/ingredient ratio. Desserts were good and the presentation was exactly what I expected. 2 stars overall. Can't see myself wanting to return.

I was really craving some ice cream mid afternoon and saw Fosters Freeze was nearby with plenty of dessert options. They offered a new dipped waffle cone with peanuts which sounded exactly like what I wanted. You can pick vanilla, chocolate, or a mixed swirl for the ice cream flavor, costing a little over $5. It was quite messy to eat since it was melting quickly, but it definitely hit the spot. The peanuts are a nice touch and added a salty, nutty crunch. Fosters Freeze offers quite an extensive menu and the workers there are all very nice and efficient despite the consistent busyness of customers and orders. There is a good amount of parking available and the lot is kept clean. I don't think you're able to go inside the restaurant but there are a few tables outside for dining.

Hot fudge brownie parfait

I stopped by here on an evening looking for a dessert. I decided to go for the hot fudge brownie parfait since it seemed like a nice way to get both chocolate and ice cream. It also comes with maraschino cherry on top. However, since the menu photo didn't show that there were any nut pieces on it, I didn't think to ask if there were nuts, and so it came with peanut pieces on it. Unfortunately I am allergic to peanuts so I was only able to get a small taste of it. I am sure it was delicious as a whole, but I would recommend if you have allergies, be sure to ask about the ingredients ahead of time. I wish they also listed the ingredients on the menu, or at least some common allergens.

For some reason, I always drove to the Downtown San Jose location of Fosters Freeze and completely missed that there was one in Milpitas. I have definitely missed out on this closer location but that might have saved me some inches on my waist. For what it is, I do believe this place is a great place to pick up some delicious fast food (especially their soft serve) for a reasonable price. Even after the inflation, I still think their prices are fair. We got the banana split (~$7) and a small peach sundae (~$4) and felt that was about right. I also like how if you pay by card, they do not have that ridiculous 18% minimum tip - 25% minimum tip button you see so common nowadays. Just some quick tips: 1.) Location has a good amount of parking and is easy to drive to in my opinion. 2.) The indoor seating area is closed but there are an okay amount of outdoor seating. It's not the cleanest but it'll do in a pinch. I saw a mix of people eating at the outside tables as well as in their cars. 3.) Since it is "Soft Serve", it melts pretty dang fast especially when its hot. Be prepared to eat it quickly or it'll be a pile of liquid in no time. Quick shoutout to the owners?/staff? at this location. They are super friendly and seem to enjoy that their patrons are enjoying the food :).

We stopped by here after dinner last Saturday and got the reeses cup twister and chocolate dipped waffle cone (with nuts on top)... YUM! :D The ice cream cones here are more like soft-serve, with the option to dip it in chocolate to create that delectable chocolate shell over the ice cream, and I love it! I grew up with this simple yet satisfying dessert at the local FF in my hometown... so trying out this location decades later brought me back to those carefree days of indulging in all that chocolatey goodness to my heart's content! Cuz of course, gotta get chocolate on chocolate (ice cream flavor, and shell), otherwise what's the point?!? Then again, I'm just a chocoholic, so I can't say it's for everyone. What I do know is that this California restaurant chain serves plenty of decent cheap eats to satisfy your hunger, including burgers, hot dogs, crinkly fries, fish & chips, and more. And even though there's nothing too extraordinary about the food here and this specific restaurant is somewhat run-down (not too different from other locations), it has your basic needs (outdoor seating and a small parking lot), and it's a cool no-frills fast food joint to grab a quick lunch or dinner, or even just an ice cream cone with your favorite person... even if those cold and creamy treats melt quickly and can get messy (totally worth it!). This eatery is also easy to access, off the 680 or 880 freeway.

Delicioso!

The burgers and other food are okay, but its definitely the place to go for soft-serve ice cream, sundaes, banana splits, and milk shakes.

Small joint, very old fashion. Needs a bit of updating. But food is good. Very precise about quality but definitely not top of the market.

For the table, we ordered herb fries and chicken tinga nachos. The herb fries were good. Nothing special. The nachos were not my favorite. The serving was a good amount but it wasn't too flavorful.

I'd say it's long overdue for me to write a review. Before discovering Eureka!, we were regulars at Faultline/Laughing Monk, but we eventually grew tired of the inconsistent, impersonal service. It's like a cross between a western style bbq joint and a middle eastern twist with its meats and food. Turns out, this place is mainly an Afghan restaurant! It's half eatery half a butcher shop for people to come and purchase fresh meats for some home cooking. In fact, I watched a lot of people coming in and ordering meats to go. I ordered their chili lamb kabob which was tender and juicy. It had lots of flavor from the spices but enough to where it wasn't overwhelming. I ordered it on top of a pillow of rice which was fluffy and buttery textured. It was delicious. There are sauce bottles to pair with the meats which is my favorite part. I really liked their white creamy yogurt sauce mixed with their red house chili sauce. It gave my lamb meat so much flavor and some heat. I loved my order and will definitely order two next time. I also want to try their steaks. They take their time grilling their meats so orders can take a short while. It's worth it for sure. No complaints here but I do wish they played some light music in the background for some ambiance. Things can be real quiet in here so it can be awkward dining in.
