I come from a small town in the midwest and my uncle used to take me to a place on Sunday's to get soft serve ice cream and fries from a small greasy spoon spot very Similar to foster freeze. Just ordering here took me back as we parked and approached the front window. There were several people already waiting which made me feel like I was about to enjoy something other chain fast food burger joints weren't going to offer. I tried the chili fries. They were great imo. I tried a corn dog. It hit the spot with a touch of mustard. I also gave the ice cream a shot and wasn't mad at the whole experience. If your looking for a quick in and out stop. You want to support a more independent organization and not the big chains. If you like to feel stuffed after your meals and not spend much than I'd say swing by foster freeze and give them a shot! read more

I'm not in Milpitas much anymore, but when I feel the need to have an old fashioned burger from an old school joint, Foster's Freeze comes to mind. I miss Joey's (remember them?) and it's hard to top them. But Foster's Freeze does the trick most of the time. I usually order the Classic. A simple, traditional burger (with cheese if you'd like). I also get fries (which are the crinkly kind) and a drink. Not bad for the price. I haven't had a cone here in forever, but I do remember their shakes to be pretty good. The location isn't the greatest and it's not the cleanest place, but it has that old school "piece of Milpitas history" charm to it. I'm sure we'll be back. read more

I've been told that FF's dipped cones are hands down better than DQ's dipped cones... finally got to test them tonight. Not convinced that they're *WAAAY* better or whatever, but they are pretty darn good! I probably should do a blind taste test (side by side, of course!). read more

It might not look like much considering it's located in the middle of a deserted lot, but if it's summer time and your out chilling with a group of friends I'd stop by there. The best thing on the menu is the twisters! I remember it was such a treat as a kid one I will never out grow! My favorite is the vanilla and chocolate chip, YUM!!!!! Foster's Freeze! I love this place. I've gone here twice. Once to get a root beer float and fries. Another time just to get a vanilla cone. The root beer float taste AMAZING! Not too sweet. If you grew up in milpitas you frequent this place always the greeted with a smile from whoever is working and the gentleman that works there is always so pleasant and is just a great man. My daughter loves to go with me to get ice cream and she always tell her she's so cute when she's orders. If you ever drive thru you have to stop great service and great food. Oh my gosh. I haven't seen a Foster's Freeze in who knows how long, and I almost missed this one until I saw the giant sign with the ice cream cone with a face on the side of the road. My mom and I love soft serve ice cream, and usually go to McDonald's for a soft serve vanilla cone when we hang out together...BUT we have a new favorite!! This place has the best soft serve in the whole entire world - it's soft, creamy, smooth.....it tastes like you're eating little pillows of ice cream :) And you can get it chocolate-dipped, which makes it infinitely better!
