鹹飯糰 Salty Rice Roll (with pickled veggie, and marinated egg)
    Vicky H.

This is the Taiwanese breakfast spot I grew up going to. You get all of your classic items like dan bing (egg omelette), you tiao (dragon tail), radish cake, peanut or soy milk, and more. Today, I tried the fan tuan with pickled vegetable and marinated egg (also opted for purple rice). The filling to rice ratio was spot on and the marinated egg was surprisingly an amazing addition. Definitely recommend. Total came out to around $9.50 after tax. Service is kind, speed is decent. Their internal decor has never been incredible but sometimes that means it's that much more authentic! I highly recommend their brown sugar bun (you can get an egg on the inside). The bun is massive and soo fragrant! It's delicious.

Authentic Taiwanese Breakfast. Decent food pricing. I got the Purple Glutinous Rice and it was really good. It was about $6. You can get it with vegetarian pork sung. I really liked the Salty Soy Milk. I have been craving it for a while. The bowl is a bit smaller than I imagined. But there's lots of ingredients, such as fried donut, pork sung, tofu, green onions, and pickled mustard greens. So delicious!! Fried Taro Cake was also good. I like that the outside is fried and the inside is very soft. Flavor itself on its own was good. I didn't really have to add anything, but I tried it with the chili sauce that was provided on the table. Spicy Pig Ears is really good! Around $8. I really like it. Not for everyone, but it's flavorful and chewy, just how I like it!! We paid first then sat. Service is super fast! We just sat down not too long and we got our dishes. You can sit anywhere. Parking is free in the lot. Spaces are limited.

Chinese breakfast place. The sticky rice here is the best. They have another location in Irvine. The pastries, oyster egg omelette, soymilk and oil stick are all good here. HAPPY CHINESE BREAKFASTING!

An amazing Chinese breakfast place. The rice rolls were amazing; there was just the right amount of filling inside, so you weren't just eating clumps of rice. We also got the egg crepe, another traditional food, and it was done beautifully here. The ratio for everything was perfect, and you won't even realize you finished it. Additionally, we ordered the fried daikon cakes with an egg, which was delicious. The cakes were a little oily, which made them super heavy to eat, but they were super flavorful. We ordered two pastries, the black sesame and red bean. Both were very simple and super flaky. I could stand for a bit more filling, but the flavors were really overpowering and delicious. Would recommend pretty much anything, all their food was delicious and made well. Soy milk was a great addition to our order too.

Located not far from nationally recognized Huge Tree Pastry stands Four Sea Restaurant, Si Hai to locals who know it for sweet or salty Soy Milk plus Buns and Pastries ordered at the counter. True to Taiwanese traditions, hours from 6:30am until 1:00pm daily finding the space with a continuous stream of traffic, guests are invited to choose from the bilingual overhead menu or a laminated card featuring the names and descriptions of items prepared fast. Low priced compared to a Breakfast in Los Angeles, portion sizes mostly shareable, fans of Soy Milk will find Four Sea's in an enormous bowl ideal for dipping Donuts while Pastries from a heated case are highlighted by the Radish version or sweeter Red Bean Paste. Found at 708 East Las Tunas Drive, easily missed by those not looking, Fan Tuan is faultless in its balance of taste and texture while the Fried Onion Cake is heavier than many but not too oily and served piping hot from the skillet.

We have been sleeping on this! It's a small shop in the corner near the gas station. We ordered via DoorDash for pick up. The process was easy and smooth. The food was delicious! I got number 31! The burrito was amazing! I wish it was bigger for what it was, but I enjoyed it very much! My hubby and I will be back here since it is walking distance to our place!

My mom and I tried this place because we were gifted a Fellow thermos mug that did a collaboration with this restaurant. It's a cute white thermos mug and if you buy the mug this year, you get free sweet or salty soymilk every time you bring the mug in for the 2024 year. No limit per person! It's $35 per mug, which I think is such a steal because the regular mug itself is around the same price already. I hear it's a different mug every year. Soymilk is good! I've tried the sticky rice with pork, mushroom and egg and love it! It's $6 at the Arcadia location or $5.85 at this location. It's extremely good! It's soft, moist, tasty. I appreciated that because we dined in, they peeled the tea leaves off for us! We also tried their egg crepe with pork floss. It's decent. The egg is seasoned very well. We also tried their onion pancake with egg. This was a lot more greasy than preferred and not as much onions. Also not flaky either which is a disappointment. Pros: -thermos mug deal for free soymilk for the rest of the year -food is decent with cheap prices -service is fast and nice -self serve water -self serve disposable chopsticks and napkins -there ARE restrooms. -parking lot is in a plaza Cons: -none of their staff speak a word of English at all so be prepared! The language barrier is real but they're extremely nice. Tip: You order and pay first. You grab a number and pick a table. They'll bring it to you. Also!! Name is not labeled Four Seas but in their language instead so may be hard to find.

Four Sea (Si Hai) is so convenient and great for picking up (or dining in on) an assortment of items for a breakfast with friends. Really great selection of sweet or savory pastries in the display case in the front, and a solid option to get dan bing (egg pancake) or cong you bing (green onion pancake) as well. Quick and efficient service, and the inside feels right at home with the many Chinese restaurants in SGV.

My 1st time here and I loved it. This place serves Chinese/Taiwanese breakfast. You place your order with the cashier and you're given a number and you seat yourself. Whenever the food is ready they will deliver it to your table. I got a variety of items to try. I got hot soymilk, salty soymilk, Chinese donut, fried daikon cakes, fried meat filled pocket and fresh milk mochi. All the foods get delivered once it's finished in the kitchen. The soymilk came out piping hot and it's a neutral flavor. There's condiments on the table for you to either make it sweet with sugar or make it savory with vinegar, soy sauce and chili oil. I chose to make mine sweet cause that's how I like it. I also enjoyed the texture of their Chinese donut because it was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. It's great to dip it in the soymilk. It was my first time trying salty soymilk because that was my friend's choice. It has pieces of Chinese donut, green onions and it had some curdled soy parts in it. It was a new flavor to my palate but it was tasty. My friend really enjoyed it and cleaned the bowl up. The fried items came out later and it was the fried daikon cakes and fried meat filled pocket which has pork and green onions filling. The fried daikon cakes were absolutely my fave item because it was so crispy on the outside and super soft on the inside. The flavor was excellent along with the texture. The meat pocket was also great. The crispy exterior with the delicious filling was a great bite. I got fresh milk mochi topped with black sesame and peanuts for dessert. I love the creamy milk flavor with the smooth chewy texture that went perfectly well with the toppings. I can't wait to come back to try the rest of the menu. Also they have items like pastries, sticky rice and drinks that are already made. I didn't get any of these items so I don't know if it's good or not but I'm gonna get it the next time I come.

Tucked away in a small shopping center in Monterey Park, Four Sea is an old standby for getting your traditional Chinese breakfast fix. The menu selection is impressive, and their soy milk is definitely rich and fragrant. The pan-fried taro cake is on the dry side, and they're overcooked for my taste. The ordering workflow is efficient, if not impersonal. Brusk and semi-neglectful service is the norm in most Chinese restaurants, and perhaps that's an unfair generalization, but that's what you'll find at Four Sea. I mean, the staff is not mean or anything, but the customers could take it or leave it. Parking is limited in the small lot, and getting in and out takes some advanced driving skills.

I just recently tried the salty soy milk at the Four Sea in Irvine. The salty soy milk here was even better I thought. It was very hot (temperature) and the savoriness of the salty soy milk was fantastic. They open very early in the morning so that is an extra bonus.

Serving Taiwanese breakfast, they have fast service and a variety of options. Known for their soy milk, I'd highly recommend drinking one of the bowls with another breakfast entree. My favorite is the egg crepe with pork floss, but their buns and other foods also taste delicious! Service is fast and the restaurant is clean.

The only place in South Bay to enjoy Taiwanese steak which is different than traditional steak house. The difference is that they have black pepper or mushroom sauce on top of steak. Taiwanese steak are more soft and juicy than American steak. Other differences are they will put noodles and egg next to steak which different with American one that only have meat along on the plate. They offer garlic bread , salad and soup when you order teppan meat. Price is about $25 to $40 degrees depending the meat. I also recommend their pork chops lunch box ($20) come with white rice, 2 side dish and soup. Their Taiwanese chow mein are also delicious. Only con is waiting time because only one waiter.

We ended up getting a set for $168 this time, which came with 6 dishes. It's also $35 per lb for lobster, and I asked for the smallest one. Apparently, the smallest one was 4.8 lbs, which was another $168, so I'm not sure if they upsold me. Anyways, the food was fantastic and everyone enjoyed it. This is what I thought about the food we got. House Seafood Soup - Simple and clean soup. Good portion, and it was soothing to eat. Lots of squid. (4/5) Clams with Spicy Sauce - Large clams with tons of meat, and the sauce was fire. Always a good choice. (5/5) Crab with Salt & Pepper - Loved the seasoning, and the flavors were solid. (4.5/5) Thai Style Beef Stew - First time trying this, and it was good. A bit different, but the meat chunks were tasty and the overall flavors were good. (4/5) Sautéed Pea Sprouts - Nicely done vegetable dish. It's simple but refreshing with good flavors. (4/5) Fried Whole Fish - This dish was gone so fast because it was delicious. Nicely fried and not overly seasoned. (5/5) Signature Lobster - I feel like you have to get this here since it's their specialty. It's pricey, but in my opinion, it's the best and freshest lobster in town. Tons of green onions, seasoned well, fresh meat, and lots of lobster roe. (5/5) Service was good, and they didn't automatically add a mandatory tip for a large party. The total came out to around $364, which is pricey, but the food was phenomenal. The shrimp in the honey walnut dish were large prawns. They were moist, succulent and tender. It had a rich flavor because of the mayo. The chow mein was full of chicken, shrimp, squid and octopus. It was perfectly crispy and saucy at the same time. We ate to our heart's content and ended up taking home plenty of leftovers enough for another meal. Our total bill was a little over $108 with tip. We will definitely be back. Parking is valet only and cost is $5.

By the time we started eating, it was beginning to pack up inside. The ambiance was chill and the service was pretty standard for an Asian restaurant. Servers don't check in unless you call them over, nothing over the top. I ordered the baked chicken over tomato sauce and cheese. It was amazing, I'm still thinking about it days later! The tomato sauce was super flavorful without being crazy strong or tomato-forward. The cheese was baked perfectly on top, leaving a nice crispy texture but still chewy and stringy at the same time. I would definitely come back!

I was too hungry to wait but I decided to come back nice and early. At my 8:30am visit I was able to be selective in their parking lot and no wait to be seated. Yay! I love the interior décor. The table had dominos underneath the glass, the dishes and utensils had lucky auspicious affirmations. I'm all for the positive vibes this early in the morning. Staff are incredibly quick and efficient. They are really on top of it. I think they really have to be in order to meet the demand of the busy crowd. I was excited for the breakfast specials since I love breakfast foods. I can eat it all day! The breakfast combos come with your choice of drink. Cold drinks are an extra $1. After looking at some photos on Yelp and some helpful Q&A with my waitress, I decided on their Breakfast Combo D. Porkchop & Egg Pineapple Bun with Dried Scallop Congee ($13.99) and I opted for the Iced Lemon Tea ($1 cold drink upgrade). What a deal!! I also added a side order of the Fried Dough Stick ($3.50) or also known as the crueler or Chinese donut since I like to have it with my congee. It wasn't needed from a portion perspective but I just like it. The food came out quickly, the congee first and then the fried dough stick and porkchop & egg pineapple bun. What a feast! The ladies at the lady next to me were so excited at my spread they asked me what I got. They thought I was really pro but it was actually just my first visit. Inside the pineapple bun there was a fried egg, porkchop, tomato, lettuce, and sauce. It was a huge sandwich. This is one of the bigger pineapple buns I see and it was well stuffed. The amount of food I ordered was enough to feed 2 people. The congee was really subtle. I didn't get the fried scallop that is in the name... I would just perceive it as a plain congee. The fried dough stick was oily and didn't taste too fresh. I probably won't order it next time. Nevertheless a still overall fabulous meal. My tea was refilled before I had the chance to ask. When I asked for the check, they knew to bring me togo containers without me having to ask too. Very smart service! I had a great meal here and I will definitely come back if I wake up early enough to come at opening.

They have a lot of tables inside so it is great for small and large groups. The waiters were also fast even though they were busy. We ordered their Kung Pao Chicken, Fried Tofu, Beef Noodle, Shrimp w Walnut, and Vegetable w Garlic. We decided not to get lobster since it was pricey. They took our order pretty fast and gave tea to drink. The pot of white rice is extra $1 if you order though. And their menu book doesn't have prices for some reason. Only the to-go menu has prices. Food was served in a decent amount of time, around 15 minutes. And all dishes arrived close together so we didn't have to wait long. The kung pao chicken is so good! Not spicy at all and very nice and crispy with good seasoning. It tasted delicious with some rice. The beef noodles were also delicious! It had good wok taste and was very flavorful. The tofu and shrimp were also good. None of the dishes were too salty and all were seasoned well and in pretty big portions, though I don't remember the exact price since they took the receipt away when we paid. But the meal was very worth and we had leftovers for lunch the next day. Such a yummy meal! I really enjoyed it! I am definitely coming back again!

Boston Lobster is officially my go-to location for any|all Asian lobster cravings!! Newport…read morewho?????!!! My family and I used to religiously eat lobster noodles whenever we made a trip down to SoCal. The pick of the bunch was 100% Newport Seafood- no negotiations, no contemplations. Unfortunately, the last handful of times have left me extremely disappointed and heavily annoyed. The cost and wait times do not reflect what is actually being provided and most of our food ends up being left behind because it simply isn't worth the calories. In all honestly, I've grown a phobia w/ that specific restaurant at this point because of the countless letdowns. My initial taste of Boston Lobster was about 3 years ago and I had the most enjoyable meal. Due to our LA trip coming to an end, my BD thought we should do it big with some lobster noodles- for good old time's sake. I absolutely refused to go anywhere unless we would be giving Boston Lobster a visit! Sure enough, they did not disappoint! Dinner for 3 adults and 1 toddler consisted of: *Boston House Special Lobster [no spice] + Garlic Noodles for an additional fee. Medium Size 5-6lbs minimally. *French Style Beef Cube *Sauteed Snow Pea Leaves We ate like mf'n KINGS!! Each and every dish was spectacular- even the greens! While we should have gone with the small sized lobster, I'm proud to say we went down with an honorable fight. Lmao!! The lobster was cooked to perfection- meat was sweet, succulent, and so darn tender. The garlic noodles soaked up all of the delicious lobster flavors and were not overcooked and mush. The bo luc lac was flavorful, juicy, and complimented the bed of lettuce, onions, & tomatoes so well. The snow pea leaves weren't tough and old- this truly was a simply yet magical dish. Service was on point and the staff continually came by to swap out our plates full of lobster shells. Above all, there was no wait with our initial arrival. Parking is easy given the fact that BL has a pretty big parking lot specifically for them. 5/5 stars!! We dropped over 3 bills here and it didn't even hurt. Lmao- this place is that damn good! Don't sleep on this joint, y'all. Boston Lobster is the real deal when it comes to authentic Chinese/Vietnamese cuisine. This spot should be so much more hyped than it actually is!
