We to Fratelli Café for brunch this weekend. After the breakfast crowd, before the lunch crowd. We were able to find parking across the street easily, but it could be difficult at busier times. There was no line and we were seated immediately. The host(?) explained how to order and where we would need to place the order. Basically, you get a menu and stand in a line to place the order when you are ready. The staff is very friendly and outgoing. As well as knowledgeable about the menu. The menu is varied from sweets to savory dishes. Waffles, French toast, etc to wagyu burgers and sandwiches.   We ended up with a California omelet and the Huevos Rancheros. The omelet was what you would expect. Lots of fillings, not over cooked, and plenty of tasty potatoes. The Huevos Rancheros was served on a fried tortilla, not hot, soft tortillas. Not the first time I have had it like this, but it was a bit of surprise. Nothing was hot, but everything was warm. It was getting really busy, I am not sure if our food sat for a bit, it was not like it was under a heat lamp. But it was still good. It was a good amount of food. We got an oatmeal/chocolate chip cookie for dessert. It was maybe the best part. Soft and gooey, not crisp and dry. I would definitely like to try some of the other baked goods.   The place is cute with old biking photos as well as bikes hanging on the walls and from the ceiling. The place gets packed. When we left, the line to order was maybe 10 people deep and there was a line forming outside. It seems very efficient. Everyone seems to be enjoying themselves here. Good food, good environment, prices are not outrageous. Definitely a place to try again. read more

Damn guys. My first time here and what a great experience! Cliffnotes/TLDR: Tasty, fast, friendly! This is diner/breakfast food just like how you remember growing up. First of all, special shout out to Leore who is the manager. This is exactly the type of person and service you want in the AM. Friendly, super fast, and just jazzed up to make your experience a great one. While we were there we experienced so many locals coming in and everyone knowing their name like bffs. They whipped out the drinks and the food FAST. It was impressive. The food was just as impressive. I mean it when I say most places mess up potatoes but this place has it to a SCIENCE. Soft inside but crispy on the out. Chef kiss. Had their Benny and their 2 pancake combo. Perfect size perfect flavors. Their lattes and coffee drinks were just as wonderful. The inside has plenty of seating (some outdoor too) and is fun and eclectic with bikes on the walls and egg cartons on the ceiling. The food was great - I tried the Biscuit Benny and my friend tried the Steak Hash. The eggs were perfectly cooked, very buttery, the fried potatoes were crispy and perfectly seasoned. My Biscuit Benny came on an English muffin, contrary to the menu - no big deal. Taking one star away because the music is very loud and the outdoor tables and chairs were wobbly, we changed seating a few times. Also it's counter service, which is not my favorite. Not a very cozy place for a conversation. The food is worth another visit, however. read more

I loved this place I came out visiting from Vegas. Staff was super nice, I wish I could remember the name of our waiter. But, he was great made us laugh and was extremely helpful. The food was delicious, potatoes were one of my favorites. We did have a bit of problems with our food, but who helped us was helpful and got us everything fresh and new as well as a free little goodie. As well the location is nice, bathrooms cleans and is on a melrose which gave us so much opportunity to do some more exploring that day. read more

A group of friends and I came here on a Friday morning. They were busy but not slammed, our food came out quick, the servers were all extremely friendly and they were very attentive! I was excited to try out Fratelli Cafe after rave reviews. They have the option to join the waitlist before you arrive so that's what I did. After finding parking, our table for 2 was ready! The host Lorn was so nice and sat us immediately, we had the choice of sitting inside or outside and we chose outside. You're not directly outside, there's an awning that covers the outdoor patio area which was nice. The food came out fairly quick. Everything was delicious! I ordered something savory and something sweet to satisfy my sweet tooth craving. The French toast brioche with bananas was nice and fluffy, not too sweet yet perfect! Only thing I wish I had asked for more syrup lol! I also ordered the chilaquiles upon the recommendation of the host and I'm so glad I ordered it! I cleared my plate! My friend and I were originally going to another brunch spot, but decided to retry Fratelli Cafe. She went in before me as I searched for parking and when I came in she immediately raved about how nice the host was. As a LA native who brunches for sport, Lorne is hands down one of the best brunch hosts in the city. He recommended the chilaquiles and bacon hash. We also tried the waffles and brioche french toast. Everything was perfection and absolutely made with love. I cannot rave about this place enough. Good food can be found everywhere but when excellent service matches the food I'm hooked. Even the dirty chai was perfection. Look at the pics and try not to get hungry. I rarely revisit the same brunch spot back to back but I really felt taken care of at Fratelli. I personally like the crepe with the berries. The Bee Gees is ok. Ambiance and decorate is great. Acoustic inside is terrible because it is too loud. The restaurant is not really ADA friendly meaning it is hard to get out between tables and very narrow. A lady next to us knocked over our items on our table trying to get out. So this place needs to be evaluated for ADA compliance . I'm semi handicap, so I pay attention to these things. The host will sit you, you go order at the register, and waiter will not come to your table until your food is ready. It was brunch day so I decided to take a drive to LA. I decided on this restaurant because they seem to have a variety of items to choose from. I joined the wait list and was seated immediately when I arrived. I'm not a huge fan of the ordering process. First, you look at the menu then stand in a separate line to order your meal and drinks. I ordered the Biscuit Benny which comes with a biscuit, eggs, fried chicken and topped with gravy. The eggs were perfectly cooked and the chicken was delicious! The gravy definitely adds a nice touch and was the perfect consistency. My son ordered the Chicken and Waffles which he devoured! He ended up creating his own waffle sandwich and helped me finish my plate since he loves gravy. My niece ordered the "F" that Bagel Sando which has bacon, eggs, a cream sauce and is paired with breakfast potatoes. She absolutely loved her meal. Mamma ordered The Bee Gees which was an omelette with turkey bacon, veggies and topped with feta cheese and she also enjoyed her meal. The only downside to eating outside is our food and coffee got cold quick but, otherwise we really enjoyed our time here. I also ordered a Blueberry muffin and two smoothies which the kids enjoyed. MAN OH MAN I just love a good brunch spot and this place was really good! It was one of those moments where you want to order everything off the menu but know you can't! It's funny too because while eating here I realized that I had been here years and years ago as a teenager but without a car and wow is it a trek across LA. Anywho, I ended up settling for the sausage burrito and got a free swap of mushrooms instead of eggs (love when place let your sub for free, it makes the place x5 better imo and I appreciate it so much!) and it was mouthwateringly tasty! We experienced quick and friendly service here, which was a plus. We decided to sit on the patio, but unfortunately, there were a lot of gnats that kept flying into our drinks. We eventually moved to a different table and were able to enjoy our meal, but next time I'll definitely choose to sit inside instead. As for the food, it was great overall. We were a little confused because when we walked in, a server sat us at a table. After a few minutes, he asked if we had ever been here before, because it's not a server order restaurant. You place your order at the order cashier, they give you a number and then they deliver the food. They have a pretty extensive menu. They also have an expresso bar. Lots to choose from. We ordered the chilaquiles (red), the fried chicken sandwiching, the eggs Benedict and a bagel. Food was delivered fairly quickly. Except for the fried chicken sandwich that my son enjoyed, food is nothing special. The chilaquiles and eggs Benedict was nothing special, and worth returning.
