This review is based on the items that I got. Please keep that in mind because there are so many other options here that I would go back to try. I always try to keep an open mind with bakeries because I know it could just be the day or the specific item. I asked the staff what Freed's is known for: cakes. I ordered two different slices, a chocolate cake and a carrot cup cake. The chocolate cake seemed a bit on the dryer side, I ate it same day, but chocolate flavor is good. Carrot cake cup cakes lacked the spice flavor and felt a bit dry as well. I paid about $5-7 for each item which seems reasonable for treats. Overall, there were so many different options that could have been overlooked but i will most likely come back to try the others. The bakery is huge! and the staff was super helpful! read more

I booked this place over the phone with the help of Jayme. She was really helpful, I ordered my cake and I paid over the phone. She emailed me my receipt and my order number. I arrived for my cake and the lady Jenn was so great! The place was very busy, but they seem to be very organized and it's very clean and easy to find.Jenn accommodated me because the cake was too big to fit in my hotel refrigerator and I was frantically trying to figure out where it would place my cake until my reservation and she helped me by letting me keep it in the fridge. The cake was delicious and very cute. I also like that they give out a few cookies if you check in on Yelp and spend over I don't know maybe 10 or $20 and then also if you follow them on Instagram, they give you a couple of cookies and those cookies are so delicious. Oh my!! I am picky when it comes to desserts, especially cake. I wanted something a little extra for my 40th bday party, after much research I decided to order a cake from Freed's. I went with the white cake with the vanilla cake with bavarian cream & strawberry puree. I can't stop thinking about it and have never had so many people talk about a dessert. Every one of my party guests raved about the cake and delicious it was. The cake was moist and full of flavor, the frosting was delicious and not too much. I did the serving sheet cake which was perfect. The squares were already on the cake so easy to cut uniform slices and each slice had a dollop of frosting on top. I had the cake delivered so I can't comment on the ambience of the bakery. What I can tell you is don't hesitate to order from Freed's. My husband and I were looking for a bakery to make our baby shower cake. We knew Freed's made really good cakes, because my husband bought a birthday cake for my mother and I a few years ago. When we arrived to the bakery, we were greeted by Jayme. Jayme, took the time to explain, how they do the designs, what kind of cakes worked best, Fonda versus buttercream, etc... She let us taste the whip cream frosting and the butter cream differences and guided us on which would work best for what we were looking for. All in all, our cake came out beautiful and delicious. Freeds has grown on me over the years. They have such a vast portfolio of recipes. They take orders over the phone if you need them to hold a cake you can pay that way. They are very well with executing a design you have in mind. The cake a picked up was a strawberry shortcake it is so friggin delicious very moist the berries are always sweet the frosting is light and not too heavy. It's. 7 inches which might seem small but it compensates with its thickness. They are on the pricier side this cake runs about 60$ but well worth the price it fed 6 adults and still have tons left over. Highly recommend this bakery for anyone needing fresh pastries. Staff is outstanding very clean and well kept. Hardly ever a wait in line. And their website is pretty accurate when it comes to inventory. Keep up the great work we depend on you! read more

Highly recommend Freed's Bakery! Needed a cake for a last minute celebration. Never tasted Freed's cakes before. Just so happens the Grand Prix was happening at the same time. All bakeries in the area were booked. Took a gamble on Freed's, and it was the best gamble to take! Was not sure how the cake would turn out. Freed's far exceeded my expectations. The cake was a custom 6inch vanilla cake, with a raspberry filling. The staff are very friendly, helpful, and the service is amazing. Freed's will be my go to place for all of my bakery needs, when I visit the Las Vegas area. The cake was so delicious, we flew the cake back to NY, for our friends to enjoy. read more

Cake is my favorite dessert and I'm always looking for new places to try! After reading about this place on here, I decided to order a few slices of cake on DoorDash for delivery (so I cannot comment on the actual service/ambiance of the place, solely the dessert!). I ordered a slice of the strawberry shortcake, Parisian chocolate cake, chocolate peanut butter cheesecake, and a box of assorted cookies. Overall, the cakes were fresh and moist. The strawberry shortcake was my favorite, as it was not too sweet and the cake was fluffy and delicious. I didn't like the Parisian chocolate cake very much, because it was overly sweet to me and I didn't like the chocolate frosting - but if you're into sweeter cakes, I'm sure it'll be a hit! The chocolate peanut butter cheesecake was also really good. It was sweet, creamy, and smooth, and the chocolate crust was so good. The cookies were a bit of a miss for me - although they were beautiful, I feel like they all tasted the same. It was a solid shortbread base with various toppings, which were not bad. Overall, I am willing to give Freed's another shot, and would stick to the less chocolatey cakes to avoid them being too sweet. read more

This is a pretty cool bakery. They have an office inside and a place to purchase right next to it. The staff is super friendly and helpful and never rush you through your choices! They have a whole display case with cookies on one side and cupcakes, cake slices, and cheesecake on the other. You can order custom cakes of all sorts or purchase a premade one. The cookies are basic and the cake and cheesecake were pretty good. Everything was fresh although a bit pricey. I like more variety in my cookie options and more sweetness in my cakes. I placed an order with Kennedy and she was great, right down to the details. The first order upon pick up I noticed that there somethings wrong (color issue&details) that did not meet my expectation and she quickly remedied the issue and gave me exactly what we were looking for which is really telling on how dedicated she is to customer satisfaction. Due to that response I quickly ordered another dozen cupcakes custom and they came out perfect. Both orders were picked up at the Freeds location on Eastern, I came early so there wasn't much of a line and plenty of employees servicing customers. I was in and out In Maybe 7min? Ambiance is like any bick n motor bakery. Displayed deserts, cakes, pies, cookies etc. Overall my experience with the custom cupcakes was great, communication, execution 10/10. I ordered a single slice of cake for my daughter for Valentine's Day. The cake was $8, and I agreed to pay the $40 delivery fee. Nowhere in the online ordering process did it state that someone must be present to accept the delivery. Had that requirement been clearly disclosed, I would not have placed the order. My daughter is 23 and in and out of her apartment throughout the day, and I was not aware of her schedule. I was simply trying to surprise her with something thoughtful for Valentine's Day. The delivery driver would not leave the order at the door and did not attempt redelivery. There was also no option presented to reschedule. For a $40 delivery charge, I expected clearer communication and at least one redelivery attempt. Very disappointing experience, especially considering the cost of delivery. read more

Jayme is the best when achieving your vision for a cake! This is the 2nd cake that we have ordered from her, the first being our wedding cake. Our wedding isn't until later in the year, so we still haven't received the final product, but the initial consultation to design and taste the cake flavors was enough for me to trust them in executing my birthday cake vision. Not only did Jayme help me design my Wicked themed birthday cake, but she made sure to bring me into the bakery to taste a sample of my custom flavor creation (piña colada!!).
