    Bar - IG @bougiefoodieboi

Amazing dive bar with a classic artsy ambience right next to the Hollywood Pantages theatre! It's a walk in only establishment with a setup similar to most bars - order at the bar and seat yourself at wherever there is space. Given it's Hollywood, I was expecting things to be pricy but we were amazed that cocktails (albeit well cocktails) were only $9 with some more complex drinks a bit higher - my friend said 8 drinks plus tax came out to be $92 which is not bad at all compared to many cocktail spots, though prices match the quality as you're not here for craft cocktails, but rather decent drinks to get you buzzed for the night. There's no menu. I settled with a dirty Shirley temple and my friend got me a Cinnamon Toast Crunch shot. I also tried the green apple martini too. Drinks were good but not excellent, but I can't complain about it much given the price!

This is a really cool retro style bar

What a rad bar! This place is what I envisioned a 'dive' bar to be in Hollywood. I met up with some fellow fans of a band we going to see at The Fonda Theater. The decor is retro and glitzy and makes you feel like you are stepping back in time into a world of neon. There was a decent amount of people there for a Thursday afternoon, but the noise level wasn't too loud. We could have conversations at a normal volume and not have to yell over each other. The bartender was very personable and able to keep up with everyone and didn't leave anyone waiting to get a drink. The jukebox is loaded with most every song you could want and we played our favorites in preparation for the concert.

    Pure vodka...lol, just water :)

You got to love an old Hollywood bar. It was a good turn out for a Sunday afternoon. We were headed to the Hollywood Bowl so this was a good pit stop for a drink beforehand. One time I stopped by around Christmas and the whole bar started singing Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You". They always play good music here, and Always a good time.

After attending a performance at Pantages Theatre, I noticed that Frolic Room was right next door so I stopped by for a drink on a Sunday afternoon. Located in Hollywood, right by the Hollywood Walk of Fame, parking isn't easy. I parked in a surface lot a block or two away. Ambiance (4/5): Frolic Room has been around for a long time. Celebrities have stopped by. That sort of history is always awesome to experience. Frolic Room gives you that old school Hollywood vibe. It's a narrow bar. Dimly lit. With some seating at the bar and at barstools. A couple of TVs. You can learn about the history of the establishment by reading some plaques on the walls. Very cool. Service (4/5): I sat at the bar and was greeted promptly. Placed my order and closed out. Smooth. No complaints. Food (N/A): To my knowledge, they don't serve food. Drinks (2.5/5): This is where things were a bit disappointing. They don't have a menu. You can basically just order the beer they have on display or they have a full bar. So you can order a rum & coke, gin & tonic, etc. Simple cocktails rather than the more elaborate cocktails you'll find at a lot of places. Despite not having a menu, the prices here are affordable (especially by California standards). Always a plus. If you're looking for a place with some history, check them out. It also makes for a convenient stop after checking out a performance at the theatre next door.

Frolic in to the Frolic Room, a dank den of good jukebox tunes, locals, tourist, show goers, Hollywood frequenters and more. This histori, 83 year old cocktail bar opened its doors in 1941 and has been serving up a wide range of customers of all kinds, from all walks of life for many decades, and nearly a full century. Located on Hollywood Blvd between Vine St and Argyle Ave directly across the metro station, W Hotel and neighbor to the Pantages theater along the Hollywood Walk of Fame this room of sorts has been graced by many talented entertainers and somehow keeps its same charm, grit and prices making it an easy fav. $3 draft beer during the day, um yes please! And my friend's cocktail, not much more! We even met the kind owner (since 1979) while here and he was really friendly and laid-back, taking in the Sunday Funday crowd and keeping cool in the corner. It's dive bar galore in all the best ways, very limited space and seating. I've been in once or so before in the past, but never for more than a beat, so it was a true treat to pop in during LA pride weekend where all are definitely welcome and respected at this little establishment. They have gender neutral restrooms, cool wall art, a full bar (though limited brews/beer selection), awesome bartenders and a digital juke with free play. Limited street parking with some restrictions, garage or lot parking all available nearby. It's Hollywood. It's Fun. It's Frolic.

Gotta love a good dive bar and the Froloc room is just that - a historic bar located on Hollywood Boulevard! No frills, no pretense- just basic beer, good music and a great time!! With a history that dates back to the 1930s, filled with celebrities and movie appearances, it's a must visit! Enjoyed good old Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and a great jukebox with all the music options you could possibly want! Service is fast and friendly and the patrons are a mix of locals - young and old, tourists, frequent fliers- unassuming just looking for a beer and a good time! Love a great dive bar and this is a great one !

I was wandering around after a studio tour and felt like grabbing a drink, so after a quick bit of googling, I was led directly to the historic Frolic Room. I showed up at around noon on a weekday and the place was about half full. One of my favorite cocktails is a Manhattan, so that's exactly what I asked for. My wonderful, friendly server Matthew asked if I wanted it "up" so I said sure and told him to pick the booze. It was amazing. Matthew used Maker's Mark and an unknown vermouth to assemble one of the best Manhattans I've ever had (and I've had quite a few). The balance was perfect. I wound up drinking two of them, it was such a delectable concoction. It didn't hurt that I absolutely loved the dimly-lit ambiance. It's exactly the kind of low-key vibe that I'm drawn to when I go to a bar. Honestly, I'd rank Frolic Room right up there with the very best bars I've ever been to. It's great.

    Cheers

Yesterday was my second time at Frolic Room. I love the vibes of this dive bar. The bartenders are so friendly and helpful with their recommendations. I also love that they have a jukebox to play whatever music I desire. This is definitely the bar to go to for affordable drinks and a good time.

A lovely gem on Hollywood blvd, had to check out this historic joint. On the small side so better for dates or smaller parties. Drinks were wonderful and the bartenders gave great service. The perfect mix of actually tasting the liquor but not being hit by it. Can't wait to visit again!

Slightly overdressed for the room, but what the hell....

Another brilliant afternoon, gladly wasted, at our beloved Frolic Room. This time with a larger group - we had just attended the funeral of beloved cult movie icon UDO KIER and we wanted to raise a glass to him somewhere with character. As always, the Frolic Room delivered the goods; perfect drinks, perfect musical selection (since we took over the jukebox ourselves, thanks AMI app!), and perfect conversations with various bar patrons, some regulars, some visitors, but all onboard with our mission - to celebrate life. Special thanks to our bartender and doorman!

Perfect martini, very hard to find nowadays.

Is there a better bar in Los Angeles? That's the question that needs to be proven wrong. It has all walks of life there in smallish but big setting. Long bar, great photos on the walls(nostalgic from the old days of the bar), and really different lighting you have never seen. Never seen any anger from patrons or the good people that are there making your night special, whatever the reason your there. Musical next door, bad day or great day at work, or there celebrating life in all its smallest forms. The bartenders Reuben and Jason? (I hope), so helpful, nice beyond reason, it's always busy and they're just humming along doing their thing. So if there's a better bar in Los Angeles I've never been, so for now I'll count this as #1.

I stopped by here to pass some time before the Wicked show at the Pantages Theatre. The interior is filled with photos and memorabilia that give it a nostalgic charm. I ordered a Jack and Coke, and to my surprise, it was quite strong--not that I'm complaining, since they're often on the weaker side. The bartender was friendly and attentive, making sure we were well taken care of.

    Christopher T.

An icon treasure spot in Hollywood. Also a perfect place for drinks before or after a show (next door to the Pantages) or just a hangout joint with friends. Great strong drinks with decent prices. Great bartenders, I'm sure they did upgraded but it still has that old vintage decor vide. Definitely a must checkout if you are in the area for some good drinks before hitting the town.

Only problem is that every spot within walking distance was closed until 5pm. So rather than go home, we popped in here not really knowing what to expect and had a little drink before catching an Uber back home. I liked how the bartender immediately asked for ID from us both. My transition glasses hadn't even changed from dark to light before he asked and I couldn't see him properly, lol, which he actually noticed and acknowledged. My partner got a beer and I got a cider- they're cash only! They are consistently friendly, welcoming, and even take the time to show kindness to our dog, which means a lot to us. Unfortunately, our experience this past Tuesday night was the exact opposite. Although Ashley was not technically working, her interactions with us made us feel completely unwelcome and uncomfortable. It was disappointing, especially considering how much we have enjoyed coming to this bar over the years. We understand that everyone can have a bad day, but the way we were treated left a lasting impression. We genuinely enjoy The Drawing Room and appreciate the staff members who make it a welcoming place. However, we will be avoiding visits when Ashley is there because of this experience. I perused some of the other ratings here and have some context for some of the lower ratings: you…read morehave to be ready that this is actually a dive bar (or really a dive 'lounge') and be ok with it. What makes it a wonderful, unique and very cool bar setup: the divey location, the easy and potentially cozy and awesome celebratory experience because of the intimate 'dive' quality, and the fact that it has karaoke witha great system--you have to be able to reconcile that perhaps some other things won't be perfect. I'm not saying that this is for everyone, and I'm certainly not saying that we can't all have different priorities and tastes when going out. But what I am saying is: if you take this bar and lounge for what it is and roll with the punches a bit, then you will potentially love this place and have a lot of fun. For context, I have been going to bars, lounges, raves, parties, festivals, and everything else for a long time, and what I have learned is: things are sometimes going to take some unexpected or iffy turns. Often, you just have to roll with it as best that you can, and just as often: those iffy turns turn into some of the most memorable and even wonderful experiences. So that is what the Blue Goose Lounge offers: a really cool TRUE LOUNGE experience, with the lighting and cushy seating to prove it, with KARAOKE and a nice sound system, and a with an owner/bartender actually showing his personality instead of just being in service of you (yes, that might rub some people the wrong way, but I think it adds character to an establishment). It's possible that I've been lucky enough to not have had a 'bad' experience here--but it's also possible that I didn't even realize that was the situation. All in all, I've been here 3 times now and each time has been a fun and unique experience thanks to the atmosphere and setting, due to Doug the bartender, the comfortable lounge vibe, and because of the other patrons with a similar mindset. How else would you have a lounge with all of the GOOD things that I've mentioned without some of the idiosyncrasies? I don't know of another place like this for all of its good, and anything else that comes close as a drinking lounge either isn't this laid-back or requires spending a crazy amount of money to have a good time. Here, you get a divey karaoke lounge with genuine character.
