I had been using a broken-screen iPhone 6 for a few months and yesterday finally got around to requesting a handful of quotes from Yelp phone repair businesses. Genius Lab was the fastest to get back to me (thank you, Nick!), had a competitive price for the repair ($80 for screen replacement), and was close enough that I could walk from my office. I resolved to backup my phone and do it soon. Fast forward to this morning and I inconveniently dropped my phone once again and this time it broke the LCD, rendering it useless... but still fixable. I exchanged another message with Nick via Yelp to verify the price for the new broken condition ($90 for screen replacement AND LCD) and (as soon as it stopped raining), walked on over. Avoid this place if you care about the data on your computer. I was told my photos and documents would be backed up by the tech before he installed a new operating system on my computer. When i went to pick up my computer, i discovered that about only 1% of my documents and photos were backed up. All of my family photos and work for my masters program gone, just like that. Came in with a waterlogged phone that I'd had sitting in a Tupperware full of rice for a few days. I wanted to know whether they could help open it up and dry it out further. Before doing anything, Nick at the front counter, tested it out. Made sure it was working alright, helped me clean the rice out of the SIM card socket and didn't charge me a thing.
