Went there yesterday and have ZERO regrets! The food is fantastic -- Husband and I both had the poutine fries (gravy and "bacon"). I have no words for how scrumptious these are! And the Reuben sandwich -- oh my gosh! You get a lot of food for a fair price and the food is just so yummy! Took home some of their chocolate spiced S'mores muffins and two peanut butter brownies for later and to share with our family. Both desserts are amazing, and my non-vegan son went -- eh-hem! -- "nuts" for the peanut butter brownie! Great atmosphere -- and wonderful service, too! Very friendly and sweet! We brought our seven-year-old son and our 12-year-old daughter and her friend and everyone loved what they ordered! My original glowing review is below and this used to be the most Amazing food I've experienced in Temecula, but since they've gotten recognized and more popular, their meals are half the size, same price, and seems to taste different. Not as flavorful. The onions in the gyro are different and completely Change the taste to something not good... I'm so sad because I am not one to splurge on ordering food in, but this was worth it. Sadly, I have to say that I am no longer going to be ordering from the place that I loved so much for so long. It's a total disappointment now. I always also ordered four extra Tzatzki sides and would always get them and now I only got one. That never happened before. They're really being cheap on the size of food, portions, and don't even supply napkins anymore. But the prices are still high. Very sad.. I went to pick up some food here to being back to my boyfriends house. It was alright, but I wouldn't say it was great. The woman that worked at the front was lovely and very helpful when helping me decide what to order. I ended up getting the Cabo Bowl, Reuben Sandwich, and Cauliflower Bites. The wait was a big long, but it wasn't too bad. I also got the Vegan Donut that was displayed at the front. My sweet tooth was kicking in and on the way home I couldn't wait and just had to take a bite (VERY creamy and VERY delicious. RECOMMEND!!) Once I got back home, my boyfriend and I tried a bite of everything. The Cauliflower Bites were pretty good! The Reuben Sandwich however, we both were not the biggest fans of. We thought the Cabo Bowl was pretty plain too. Well, it wasn't BAD. I was hoping it was the best thing I ever tasted though since it was both recommended AND a restaurant favorite. The donut though, WOW that donut. We ate it, fought over who would eat the last bite, and debate going there again for more (I won, I had the last bite ;) ). Today was my first visit to the Gentle Grill, it was a great experience! I ordered the Buffalo Cauliflower and it was a little bit crispy and then soft inside. The dipping sauces were all good. I am not vegan. I am a avowed carnivore actually. But I have eaten at vegan places, e.g. Cafe gratitude in both Los Angeles & San Diego. This was bad food. Like feeling queasy afterward bad. The problem is the food is over salted, over spiced, & over priced. I left feeling sick, partly because of the food, partly because of how much I paid for it. I felt like I'd spent the entire day eating junk food: chips, soda, crackers, etc. probably because I'd ingested a week's worth of salt in a single meal. Typically I give a place at least 2 tries before I write them off...not GG. I think what we got is about as good as it will get. The desserts are good though...but they're not made here soooooo..... I search out vegan restaurants throughout the valley area. Unfortunately, there are not much to choose from. However, when I stumbled across the Gentle Grill my friend and I HAD to give it a try. The menu had a lot of choices. Everything I hoped for was there. The food was excellent. A real pleasure to find vegan deli food locally when you can't find a Jewish deli for miles. We had the gyro sandwich, which was flavorful and enjoyable, but I wasn't impressed with the low ratio of seitan to salad. I expected more "meat" from a gyro, although the seitan that was there was cooked, seasoned and textured well. The prices were most certainly too high for the portions (adds being too high as well with a cost of $1 for a meager sprinkling of feta). Im a fan! I've tried their gentle fries, cabo bowl, crispy chicken, and a mint chocolate chip donut - everything was super delicious! I will say that the cabo bowl would be better described as a quinoa salad bowl, it was delicious, but I wasn't expecting it to be cold when I ordered it. Also, the crispy chicken sandwich wasn't really all that crispy, I thought it was very tasty and I would definitely get it again, but the chicken looked like it was breaded with breadcrumbs opposed to a fried chicken kind of breading which I expecting when I read that it was a crispy chicken sandwich. The mint chocolate chip donut was delicious - the donut part was more like a super moist cake and I thought it was fantastic. My mom and husband loved the mint chocolate frosting that came on top of it. My mom didn't even know what vegan food was, and after we were done eating, she said she enjoyed everything and I explained to her what vegan meant and she said she would have never been able to guess. She was especially surprised the donut was able to be made that well without any animal byproducts. My only critique would be that I wish they served dine-in orders on real dishes, from an environmental standpoint, but also just because I prefer eating on real dishes with real flatware. If they didn't have real dishes, I think it would at least be nice if they had small paper plates or something so that when people wanted to share food, they didn't need to waste a whole box. We basically finished everything except the cabo bowl, which left us with three boxes to throw away at the end of our meal.
