Came to Park City for a girls weekend and were excited to try this restaurant. We wondered why it was so empty on a Friday night but soon realized. Food was mediocre I ordered the salmon which was a hard crusty brick of fish. The ambiance was pleasant enough but for the price the food or service wasn't that good. We asked the waiter to take our picture and he said hold on. He never came back. The restaurant was not busy then we noticed he was up front talking to a waitress. An off night at this faux-tuscan, Park City eatery. While the bread and water service was quite quick (and very delicious), a 50 minute wait for two Diet Cokes foreshadowed a dreadful dining experience. Bussers and wait staff (Hayley) were quite overwhelmed but very hard working! Meanwhile there were 5 hostesses gossiping up front. Short staffed where it mattered on a busy holiday night. The manager seemed unaffected by this, shown by his laxidasical strolls through the resturant and hangouts with the hostesses. After just over an hour we received our food and couldn't put our forks down. The dishes came out hot and wonderfully made. It's a shame such great food can be dampened by such poor management. read more

I just spent 7 days in Park City. Three night in row, I feasted on filet mignon, the best of which was savored at Ghidotti's. From the antipasti Italian cheeses, olives, and sausages, to my limoncello grand finale, my palette did not miss a thing. I am normally a caesar salad fan, but the gorgonzola and grape salad vied for my faves amongst those of this course. My petit filet cooked medium rare, was prepared perfectly, sans mooing. With a table of 8 by the fire on a snowy night and an uber attentive staff of servers, my meal was exquisite! I could only sniff the desserts (chocolate dreamy business with berries) being attacked by my colleagues cuz my pant buttons were bursting. I let the limoncello works its own magic. Ghidottis works well for both the date or the large party dining experience. Elegantly decorated yet subdued with a vanilla-y coat of paint over the columns and the grand fireplace. Half of the clientele wore their best apres ski but you won't feel out of place if you are dressed to the nines with your date. read more

Man, I'm kinda bummed out about the trajectory this restaurant has taken in recent years. It used to be one of the "go-to" spots for a nice comfortable date night and the food was excellent. Haven't been back for a bit and the first thing I noticed was that the menu prices were much higher than I recall. You must have a twofer coupon from the Park Record to sort of even out the price of the meal. So make sure you get the paper before you stop in for dinner. They have some goofy rules about where you can order food and booze and I honestly couldn't figure them out. I wonder if they just make them up at random to keep themselves entertained. Being shoulder season as I write this, that is something Big Larry would do just for yuks. I had the bolognese which was served with pappardelle, but the pasta was clumped together paper maché style. I managed to deconstruct it but it was a chore. WAY undercooked. Yech. Others has the salmon which was OK, but the flavor was underwhelming. We had calamari and something else as apps, but it was so meeeh that I forget the other dish. Another in our party had the pizza, which was also nothing to write home about. We also had the seafood puttanesca, which we judged as definitely food, but much of the sea was missing. No desserts as we wanted to get the heck out as soon as possible. Lastly was the service. You can counter a lackadaisical kitchen staff with a great server, but this poor fellow was using a different playbook. We had to get up, go to the kitchen and ask for the pepper mill as the server completely ignored our request for the instrument over the course of ten minutes. Same drill with the Parmesan. One of our companions was so irritated that he humorously engaged other tables asking if they wanted some cheese. I laughed so hard that noodles came out my nose. I finally pulled the fellow aside and asked if his Mom had died and his attitude improved slightly. This is a Bill White property and he owns a bunch of restaurants in the city, but he is getting a bit big for his britches, I think. He is now one of the elite unreachable business owners here and it is impossible to communicate with him. This is indicative of an owner who has lost touch with his customers. Very sad. read more

This place had amazing and very delicious food! We had the carpaccio appetizer, kids pasta (meatball marinara and Alfredo), as well as the scallops with Polenta. They were reasonably sized and very tasty. The pasta was just right al dente... the service is not super fast but we are on vacation and not in a hurry so we had a great time. We were right by the fireplace and it was a very nice experience. Would go again. read more

In town for a short ski getaway and came here on a busy Saturday night with our local friend. All of the staff are warm and welcoming. Our server (cant remember his name) was very friendly. Food exceeded my expectations, especially for a restaurant in a shopping center. We got the antipasto platter: came with well- chosen delicious cheeses; beef carpaccio- very tender; beet salad: this came with an excellent ricotta cheese;.scallops - all around amazingly finished with good texture and with an excellent polenta base; and hubby got a pizza which was good too with a nice fired crust. I am very picky about eating out and look forward to coming back on future Park City trips to try more of the menu. read more

Oh my deliciousness!! We were given the suggestion to go here for the Thursday $5 pasta night... and we are so glad we did!! The restaurant is beautiful... elegant decor, white tablecloths, fireplaces, etc, yet maintains a very "come you are" atmosphere as well. The server was friendly and helpful with suggestions. The bread-delicious. The pasta- fantastic. I had their homemade spaghetti with Italian sausage. Sausage was a bit spicy for me-- but I'm a wimp, so others may like it. The sauce was still delicious and the spaghetti --so good!! My husband got the chicken parm with bow tie pasta in marinara. Yum! House salad--also $5 on Thurs-- was perfect. Everything was perfect. We almost didn't come here because we found out these were the same owners as Chimayo. But we went. We asked if they served pizza and they stated they only served it in the lounge, which is first come first serve. We get there and it was just silly. There was literally a short bookcase separating the lounge from the main dining room, ie, two feet. Not sure why they have the rule about not eating pizza in the dining room but OK. The pizza and gnocchi were fine and my son enjoyed his meal. The wine was the correct temperature and we enjoyed their selections. read more

Wonderful atmosphere, wonderful menu, wonderful food, very slow service. Three of us decided to try this restaurant for the first time. 2 of the 3 of us would not return based on the level of service we experienced. The consensus of the two was that for fine dining, the price point leads to an expectation of excellent service, and there is no reason to return to that establishment if the service is not up to par. For my part (yes, I was the 1 of 3 who would return) I thought the food was worth a return trip to try more of the menu! We had the meatball appetizer; for entrees we had the filet mignon, the salmon, and the crab-and-shrimp pasta; for dessert we shared the Chocolate Mousse Bombe; we also had sauvignon blanc wine, the Sicilian Sunset cocktail, and an Italian soda. The food and drinks were all wonderful, as stated. The server, while pleasant, was mostly absent, and slow. We wouldn't see her for 15, 20 minutes at a time and we ended up spending far more time at dinner than planned, with a drive home to Provo, Bountiful, and Kaysville for the three of us. I waited tables for 6 years and have a pretty high tolerance for things that can cause a server to have a bad night - my companions waited tables as well and have a zero-tolerance level when the menu prices are high, and as stated above, they will not return. read more

We just ate the best meal we have had in a year of restaurants both in and out of Park City. That goes double for our waiter, Spencer. We were lucky to have him. He was the perfect combination of attentiveness when needed and inconspicuous when not. There is a new appetizer on the menu called House Farm Cheese. The cheese is handmade by an extremely talented woman exclusively for Ghiodott's . The cheese is served with charred toast, tiny root vegetables, chives and paper thin baby radishes. This is an absolutely extraordinary and original dish. We can't say enough about the cheese in this new appetizer. We split a Caesar salad, followed by a tempura fish special and a custom pizza. The fried fish special was as fresh and as it gets. For the locals: The manager, Joseph, always recognizes us and makes sure we know we are appreciated both on and off season. Tonight we were comp'd the cheese appetizer. For that, we are truly grateful. Also, our waiter honored the Bill White two for one entree without the paper coupon. Go just to try the House Farm Cheese- it's that good. read more

I have to give the staff an A for effort. Our waiter was very nice but didn't seem to be very well trained. I guess you have to mark that down as it's hard to find staff nowadays. The mussels were pretty good. My husband has the chicken Parmesan and the edges were overdone. My veal Marsala had so much black pepper that I couldn't eat it. This was my first experience at Ghidotti's. The atmosphere was high end and classy. The service was exceptional, and the food was even better. Grant, our server, was extremely knowledgeable and timely, not to mention exceptionally handsome. He informed us of the garden grown vegetables less then a mile away and my entire table realized we had been driving past the gardens everyday of our trip! So sustainable and fresh! Came on a Thursday a bit crowded but was sat fairly quickly and All the Staff we meet were very friendly. I'm not sure what their full menu is because on Thursday they have a small menu at a very great prices $5-$8 per plate. Portions are an okay size for one adult, so I would recommend getting an appetizer also if your hungry. Kid friendly and a good atmosphere. I'm sure they have other great food selections on their regular menu, so I will have to come back, because what we had was delicious. read more

I read the complaints about the service. We had the opposite. Andre our server was very attentive and everything from drinks to appetizers to entrees were delivered on a timely fashion. The reason for four stars is that the food was good but not great. It could be that they are trying for an authentic taste of Italy and we are just so used to Americanized Italian food aka Olive Garden. Here's what I mean about authentic...the Caesar salad is real it's not made from Kraft dressing even straight down to the anchovies on top of the salad. It's real food. Out group of 13 was well cared for and it's a nice place to eat. If you like authentic Italian you will like it. We had the scallops, duck, shrimp with ravioli, pork osco. No one complained but no one was saying it was the best food ever. Try it. read more

Tried out the Thursday deal and was pleasantly surprised! The pizza was great, and the chicken Alfredo was also delicious (and not too greasy which some Alfredo definitely is!) We came around 7, so our wait was pretty long. I expect if we went earlier around 5 or so the wait for our food would not have been so bad. Really enjoyed this place! Probably the best thing we got was their garlic bread, if you like garlic bread this is a must. My wife and I both got the Pappardelle alla Bolognese. The pasta was fresh and cooked perfectly. The sauce was very good... Not an over load of flavor but I would get it again. Another dish that was at our table was Grilled Salmon Piccata and I was able to steal a bit and it was amazing and what I would get when I go back. If you like salmon and lemon then you would love this dish. The restaurant atmosphere was great and their patio is great for a summer night. This might not be the best Italian food in the world but it is very good, great venue, and great service. It this place a try and you won't regret it! read more

My family and I went to Ghidotti's to celebrate our daughter's graduation from PCHS. From the minute we walked in the door, we experienced exceptional customer service even though it was a busy night. Joseph, the manager kept stopping by our table to make sure everything was great, and it was. I have to say though that the star of the evening was Annie, our server. She knew her menu and was able to make some yummy recommendations for us and her service never skipped a beat. I would recommend Ghidotti's for a lovely Italian dinner and definitely a place you want to go to celebrate a special occasion. Horrible. Hands down, the worst food we had while in Park City. Seriously, Del Taco was better than this place. On the day we got food from here, my BF had torn his ACL. We'd actually had reservations at Chimayo (owned by the same folks), but had to cancel. I called in an order for the Family of Four pack (focaccia bread, choice of a salad, and choice of pasta dish...we got the penne with Bolognese). The guy who took my order said it would be 35-40 minutes. I arrived during that window...and didn't leave with my food until an hour after I called it in. And they weren't busy. My first guess should have been when I saw a group leaving and someone in the group had left a to-go container of food on the hostess stand. I followed them out to let them know they'd left it behind and they said "it's fine. It was horrible." I thought they were just being snarky, but they were right. The penne wasn't cheesy at all, and tasted like it was out of a can and was lukewarm (not hot). The bread wasn't warm at all. And the salad tasted funny (like too much vinegar or something, we couldn't put our fingers on it, exactly). Anyway, makes me wonder what my fellow Yelpers were thinking with this place averaging out to 4 stars. Yelp is usually right on the money, but they completely missed the boat on this one. read more
