I came in searching for a Mustang that was listed on Golf Mill Fords website. The whole interaction prior to my arrival was great. I reached regarding a certain vehicle, I wish they had gone ahead and told me it was at another dealership or at least brought it in so I could have seen it and test drove it. Thankfully, I did my research and was sold. Just need the right price. After working with my salesman, Rowland was great. He was not pushy and just pleasant to work with. This is the representation of the new car buying experience. I would highly recommend him. I would be cautious when you speak with the sales manager, David Amin. We came to a deal and all of a sudden, while I am sitting in the office to sign paperwork, he says I would only get what was promised after I leave a positive review. Now I asked for a specific type of vehicle and was shown another one just cause they lied about the one I actually asked about in the first place. We were looking for a new Ford Bronco and saw several on their website. I emailed about the vehicle I was interested in and received a response that "Great News, the 2021 Ford Bronco is available at the listed price of $38,970, which is a Great Deal compared to similar vehicles in our area listed online. Being the #1 Ford dealer in the entire Midwest, we pride ourselves on having the largest inventory and best pricing available." I then called and spoke with a sales associate who assured me that Golf Mill Ford's price for the vehicle was MSRP of $38,970, and that they might have flexibility to go below that because this was a demo vehicle with 4,000 miles on it. But they couldn't negotiate below MSRP over the phone and I would need to come in. So we drove 40 minutes to get there, took it for a test drive, and then were informed that because Bronco's were so popular, there would be a premium on the vehicle. After being made to wait for 10 minutes while they decided how much of a premium to charge us, they came back and demanded $68,970 or $30,000 OVER the price they promised me to lure me in. I read them the email saying that this vehicle "is available at the listed price of $38,970" and they said the associate who emailed me must have been mistaken. This was a clear bait and switch where they promised me one thing over the phone, only then to jack the price up $30,000 once I walked in the door. Absolutely terrible business practices. Classic case of bait and switch - worst experience with a car dealer I have ever had. They advertised a price on a 2020 Ford Escape SEL. So, I contacted them regarding this. I spoke to a salesperson who confirmed that was the price plus tax title and license. I said great let's do this deal. She then sent me a credit application which I filled out based on the idea I had a deal at that price. They run my credit - which is over 780 so I know they didn't have an issue with that. I then receive a phone call 2 days later where the Sales Manager Rowland called me and informed me they don't actually sell the cars at the advertised price. He informed me that was just to get people in the door, and they run credit so you have a hard inquiry on your credit file and it's harder to go somewhere else. This is a classic case of Bait and Switch. Rowland told me no one ever gets the advertised price. He tried to justify it saying everyone does it. Everyone doing something doesn't make it right. I spoke to them yesterday and let them know I was going to be coming from an hour away, and I would not be interested if the mark up was crazy, like $10k. They told me that they couldn't tell me the mark up but it wouldn't be 10k (should have been my first red flag). Then I asked them to email me a bill of sale so I could take it to my credit union today, and they said they couldn't (should have been my second red flag). I called the dealership to check the availability of a truck that they had in stock, on the lot listed at 83,000.00 dollars. I knew that I would be paying sticker price and was prepared to pay cash for the vehicle. The salesman grabbed the keys and I started the truck and said I would take it. At that time the salesman told they didn't advertise that there was an additional 20,000.00 surcharge on top of the sticker price. I blew my stack after driving 1.5 hours to be the victim of deceptive practice and price gouging. Now nobody likes to be threatened, especially when the situation makes no sense; after-all I had talked to the financing company a few days before and they had informed me of payment amount, the date of my first payment and when I would receive my "welcome packet'; so I was both confused and angry. But you can't be confused and angry, because then the stridence turns threatening and you find out the small print provides bad business practices with a way out.....and everything about this situation rested (not on clarity or customer support) but on bad business practices and a way out, for the dealer; especially when the primary salesperson has been let go and there is no one there to accept responsibility or explain why or how this happened. Inquired about a vehicle online and their internet department claimed that only 35% of their vehicles are listed on their website so I should come in and it would only take 15 minutes to give me a price. I brought my Ford to Golf Mill Ford for a brake job. They replaced the brakes and rotors. Since day 1 following their work, the brakes have made a loud squeal when stopping! I called and was told to take it on the highway and make a few hard brakes to knock off any rust or loose material. While this sounded ridiculous to me, I gave it a try because I was desperate! Didn't work! I brought the vehicle in to have the brakes inspected and guess what...they told me the brakes were fine! They said the components used to make brakes aren't as good as they used to be and that may be why they squeak. In other words, they put an inferior product on my car and I should just learn to live with it! I recently sent an email hoping to receive an offer to correct the issue but have yet to get a reply. I have owned multiple Fords. I currently own two. This particular Ford was purchased new at Golf Mill. I bring my vehicles to the dealer, and pay a premium, because I expect quality parts and quality work. I received neither from Golf Mill Ford! If this is the way they reward loyal customers, maybe they need to reevaluate. I will look elsewhere in the future and I suggest you do too. The salesman who was very nice said that market adjustment brings it down to 49,700 which really surprised me. I kinda doubted it and asked him about it and he said don't worry I'll get you a good deal. I'm there for an hour and then he says the market adjustment is actually 61,777. That's a 20% mark up! The manager comes up to me and says it's because you cant get them anymore even though they have 5+ of them sitting in their lot. selling at MSRP makes them a good profit, so this manager is practically trying to rape and pillage his customers. I have been waiting to get my car back before writing this review, but I cannot wait any longer to warn others to stay away from Golf Mill Ford. On April 24th, my windshield wipers would not turn off, even when the car was off. Concerned, I drove directly to Golf Mill Ford to get this fixed. It was later in the day so they said that they would have to check it the next day. Ok, not a problem! They stated that something had to be fixed for $500+ and the part would not come until the next day. While this was inconvenient and a bit expensive, I said OK. After replacing this part, another part broke down. They stated that it would be another $30. They went through 3 to 4 of those parts until they decided to replace another part that had a month lead time. They finally offered me a loaner, but that loaner had to be replaced because it was coming to its "service time". In other words, I have had two loaners. I called up Ford in Michigan and they offered me an extended warranty to cover this cost because we were going on over a month to get this fixed. The part finally came in, but they were unable to program it without the key. I brought in the key and the part failed again. We then found out that they were putting the wrong part in the whole time. They would have to investigate. Finally, after putting in parts and programming, the car was ready on July 13th. You are reading this right. I brought the car in on April 24 for a wiper issue and it wasn't ready until July 13th! Now Golf Mill Ford is stating that the warranty that Ford gave me to cover the cost is going to cover future repairs, not this one and that I owe $650. I have no idea where $650 is coming from, but I am not paying for it. As soon as I get this car back (if ever), I am selling this car. DO NOT BUY A USED CAR HERE! went in to buy a reliable "beater" for my son. thought about buying from an individual but wanted to know the car would be inspected for safety. car was priced right at around $3k, exterior incredible, test drove without issue. that is until we drove it off the lot and approached 45-50 mph. wheels started shaking violently and car began veering uncontrollably to the right. nursed the car to a mechanic 10 minutes from dealership. Paid $990 for a fix to keep a wheel from falling off, etc. just to get it home. GM laughed us out the door at our request to return the car and again at our request to cover half the mechanic invoice. Several conversations led nowhere. I understand "as is" but a simple inspection would have shown the entire frame, chassis, and uncarriage are fully rotted out. A month later and it happened again. This time $1400 for a "bandaid fix and mechanic warned us to save our money and not even bother fixing. At least we got an honest mechanic. vehicle is still sitting at shop while we try to figure out what to do. In the meantime we're still out a car And can't buy another one.
