This place is apparently known for the shakes but I wanted to a good burger so I decided to give this place a try. I ended up trying the Hawaiian burger and it was okay. It did not have much flavor to me and it was not enough sauce on the burger. So the flavors did not really flow together as I pictured they would have. The fries were really good though and they do give you an opinion on what cut you would like. I went with the thick cut and they were really good. Maybe next time Ill try a different burger because I know this probably won't be the last time me visiting the place. read more

The location is perfect to grab a burger and fries and go for a great walk at the nearby park. This spot has indoor and outdoor sitting. The outdoor sitting is under roof. I got the burger with the egg in it because it's one of my favorites. I got the meat cooked medium. It was delicious. Just the right amount of ingredients. The loaded fries were also amazing. The trio appetizer is a great way to try a couple different sides $9 but believe me, you'll be full without additional sides. The outside seating and bar seating is great and there's several great options for those with diet restrictions. Salmon, bison, chicken, gluten-free... My sis loved her salmon $12. There's a good happy hour Monday-Friday 5-7 for $6 slider with fries which I plan to try soon. Mondays theres $3 'Mark'aritas and Tuesdays is $4 Titos. I wasn't impressed with my Tito's drink. The main problem here is that once the manager isn't around, service drops. We waited at the hostess stand to be seated for 5 minutes while servers and bartenders walked past us, not interested in welcoming or helping us find the hostess. Attended Grill Marks on a Monday night. Definitely a cute place and a good vibe with indoor and outdoor seating. The host was very welcoming and sat us immediately. The service was very good and everything arrived quickly. We both did the Build your Own burgers which were delicious however didn't include a side. We ate here for lunch on a Friday morning. We had intended to walk further south past the park, but got distracted by the convenience. I personally was not thrilled at the choice, as I'd had a burger for lunch just the day before. The location is about 1.5 - 2 blocks north of Falls Park on Main Street. This is the prime shopping / dining district. They have an interior space and a covered patio-type space that fronts the sidewalk. I think they also had a few tables out on the sidewalk. We opted for the patio. Our server was prompt and efficient. I ended up getting a burger here as well, but it was quite tasty. Their fries were served in a sort of mini fryer basket, which we found amusing. I also got a hard cider, which was a good complement to my lunch. My wife got a chicken sandwich that she liked. Oh, just an fyi, A few of us in our party read this as Mark's Grill and NOT Grill Marks, but it was a harmless mistake and a few laughs. Everyone tried a bit of everything but I specifically tried these items: Grill Marks Burger ($6.99) Dry aged upgrade to grill marks burger ($3.99) side of skinny fries ($2) Fried Pickles ($4.89) Chocolate brownie crack freakshake BROWNIE ONLY ($2) Chicken Corn chowder (tried) Starting with the positives, There's lots of room for dining here and there's a fair amount of selection to choose from. People at our table ordered wings, burgers, chowder, shakes, etc, so you'll always be able to find something here. Wins for me were easily the fried pickles and their ranch dressing. Delicious! When they were warm the fries are pretty good too, though they are a bit on the hard side. I liked the chicken corn chowder as well. All positives in my book! Things that need work Everyone's dishes came out and all of the foods were just barely warm. We waited a pretty long time from sitting down to actually getting our food. It was at least 45 minutes of "is this our food? Nope....is that our....nope". For my burger specifically, I got the Barely dressed burger, which was a patty topped with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles on a brioche. I thought the bun emblem was cool, but the burger was lacking in flavor. I wish I was able to sample a burger that was not their dry aged beef, which we were told would make it much more juicy. The burger was juicy, but it was luke warm and not seasoned. Customer service I hate to bring it up, because he was a very nice guy, but it felt like our server must have been new with the company. He would often forget things that we ordered (one of our cheese burgers came without cheese and my brownie had to be ordered 3 times before it finally made it to me) and when we tried to get feed back about things he liked at the restaurant, it was hard to get solid answers out of him. Beverage refills took time and our orders in general took a long time to reach us. Nice guy, but quite a few misses Etc. The main draw of Grill Marks seems to be their shakes, which ARE freakishly huge. If you look on yelp photos you'll find a brownie on a plate. I thought this was a menu item but it was instead a brownie FROM one of the shakes. They were nice enough to allow me to buy the brownie (it needed the rest of the shake in my opinion). These are very much shareable as well. Grill marks has parking but when we paid them a visit, an event was going on in the city and we had to pay to park so keep that in mind in the evenings on weekends. Wrapping it all up We were all really grateful that Grill Marks had capacity to seat us, because we were considering just driving back to Atlanta. Staff is genuinely nice, some of their snacky items are excellent although their burgers need a bit of work. When i'm back in the Greenville area, I may come back just to try a shake or their regular, not dry aged burger patty, but for now, this was just an okay experience for me. read more

I feel that you should get fries with your burger or either get a discount on fries when you buy a burger since they're pricey. Our server was so sweet. I would like to start by mentioning that I have been here multiple times throughout the years so I will write my review based on all of those experiences combined. My dad loves their burgers so for 2 of his birthday dinners this is where we went. In my opinion, the burger is good but nothing special. They do have plenty of menu options and different types of burgers to choose from. The coolest part of the restaurant are the milkshakes (as you can see in my picture). There aren't many "burger and fry" type places downtown Greenville so this is a kid friendly, casual restaurant. I definitely recommend going at least once to try the milkshakes at the very least. This is a great spot in downtown Greenville! We sat outside at the bar, which was a great spot for people-watching. It was dinnertime on a Sunday and there was somebody playing live music across the street, which was wonderful. Our server was extremely attentive and even recommended some other nearby spots for us to visit (wish we caught his name - he had a bun and was so incredibly nice). We both ordered Marks Classic Combo (burger, fries, and a shake), which was a great deal for $15.99. The burgers were a good size and they ask how you'd like it cooked. The shakes were delicious, and they even bring you out whatever was leftover that didn't fit in the glass. So we tried this spot on a whim after my son's graduation at The Peace Center. We were seated pretty quickly on a pretty busy Friday afternoon. One thing I really liked about these fries were that the seasoning was sprinkled throughout the fries, not just dumped on the top. I really hate when all of the seasoning is just for show & piled on top & nothing is on the rest of the fries. The fries also came with a basic dijionaise sauce that was ok.
