I had Sunday breakfast here around 9 AM. It was already very crowded, but we only had to wait a few minutes. About an hour later there was a much longer wait time. Seating was available outside and inside. Inside seating included traditional seating as well as high tops. Our waitress was very attentive, but extremely busy. The first time at a new breakfast spot, I always have the Eggs Benedict. They are a tricky dish to consistently get right. The eggs were poached nicely, but perhaps 30 seconds longer than necessary. That said I prefer a more running yolk than others. The muffin was tender and the hollandaise sauce refreshing. With most breakfast dishes you are offered a side. I went with their home potatoes. The potatoes were diced nicely, but slightly overcooked for my taste. I was a little disappointed by the long wait between ordering and being served our meal. The dish was not as hot as I expected. I suspect parts of the dish may have not been cooked at the same time. Our waitress made sure my coffee cup was never empty. Overall it was an average breakfast. The wait, the slightly overcooked breakfast and its not so hot temperature would prevent this restaurant from being a favorite on my list. That said, I am looking forward to trying out their burgers, which they have won many awards for. read more

I used to come here for various meals when I lived in the area and I always enjoyed it. Most recent trip was early morning and it was really pleasant! Fast friendly service, same quaint atmosphere, clean and not too loud. They do have a full service bar but it doesn't feel like a bar.. ya know;) We both had the chicken fried steak breakfast and I was just too hungry to take a pic but it was stellar and very filling ! This is a solid choice for breakfast, but not our first choice. They seated us quickly, but service was super slow (although friendly). The biggest downfall was how crowded and loud it was. My husband couldn't hear anything I was saying the entire time. Granted, he may only be in his mid thirties but as a combat veteran his hearing is less than optimal, so maybe the noise won't be an issue for you. Grumpy's is a little gem tucked away in a little corner and it's honestly one of the best places to eat in Tucson. It's a little busy and a little crowded most days so there is sometimes a wait to be seated but that is just a testimony to how good this place is. I don't think it's a well known spot but, if you know you know. Every plate I have ever tried here has been incredible, I especially LOVE their buffalo chips. Love their daily specials! read more

I came here for dinner Tuesday night right before they closed and they were really nice about still taking orders. My mom's mushroom burger (honey mustard instead of mayo) was pretty good. I did not like the fish dinner I had. The fish was very greasy (my fault I suppose for ordering fried fish), the red beef chili was cold and not good at all and the garlic bread tasted like they poured salt on it. Went there for the first time today. It looks super small on the outside but there is plenty of seating and a room cap of 83. I had the corned beef hash and eggs and my wife had the country fried steak. Both were good and I really enjoyed the country potatoes. The service was decent. They did mess up my order as I had asked for hash browns and sunny side up eggs with sourdough toast but got the country potatoes, eggs over easy and white toast. Honestly I didn't even say anything because I'm just not that fussy and what I got was just fine. The food good but nothing to brag about. My biscuit was a little on the tough side but flavorful. The gravy was nice but I added some pepper to make it better. Overall it's a decent little breakfast spot and the pieces are pretty good. Oh and you get 3 eggs with each order instead of the normal 2. That's a bonus for sure! read more

There are certainly very few smiles amongst the staff, the owner is nice, but there are times you just want to walk out and go to Circle K for that dull breakfast sandwich. It's a hit and miss here. Today waited at the front door un-noticed for several minutes, then had to flag down a waitress to located my table waitress who was not in a good mood or lacking a smile. This Bar and Grill is one of our 'Go To' places when in town. They have some of the Best burgers, in a Great Variety. They have a "Burger Day" on Tuesdays where you get any burger discounted. My Mom really likes the Onion Rings and their "Grumpy's Favorite" burger, which has Peanut Butter of all things. Their Green Chili is Great. It's good on pretty much every dish they serve it on, plus a few we've special ordered. My Dad and youngest son like to order a cup of it with whatever they get and eat it with their fries. The Servers have always been nice. We have become acquainted well with a few of them and ask about families when we go in. They always smile and greet us warmly when we come in. The setting is typical sports bar and grill. Small place with quite a lot of seating for the little area. They have three outdoor tables, too.
