I hired H&T moving, to move me from my condo to My Home. there were a lot of stairs in both places and they did it all so fast. I called them with a very short notice and they accommodated me with no problem. The guys were fast and efficient. They did not break anything . They took care of my furniture as if it was their own . they put everything where I directed them to put it . Which made it a lot easier on myself and my family when it came to putting things away, from the start to the end, it was nothing but efficiency they came in. This is my 7th move in 12 years and this was by far the best moving company I have ever used. Hector the owner is so easy to deal with. The negotiated price was very reasonable. Moving is stressful! but they made it almost stress-free for me. They showed up on time, they were so nice and super professional. They did a quick walk thru assessed the situation then all four men did such an excellent job of padding and protecting my antiques and were so careful not to damage anything. I used H & T Moving for my last move in 2018. The movers were great so naturally for my move this year, I reached out to them and was given the earliest next available date. So having booked it with Hector, everything is packed and ready for the move with an 0800 arrival. A few minutes after 0800 and no movers in sight, called the office 6 times to follow up and calls went directly to voicemail. The WORST feeling ever . I had a feeling they will be a no show. Left a message and finally heard back from Hector 2 minutes before 0900 only to be told that he is somewhere in Silverlake and another crew is on another job. Apparently, he booked me the following Monday at least that's what he said. Unbelievable! I called him twice when I booked it and he was very particular that they only had availability on April 5th, Monday. He did ask if I still want to move forward using them the following Monday. Highly, highly recommend this super professional small, family business. I had a very complicated move with literally hundreds of books and a large Pilates reformer (that had to be disassembled in order to fit into my new place) which was exacerbated by the fact that I had incorrectly packed the books (fyi: pack all books in small boxes designed for books!). The team of movers came and were incredibly efficient and Covid-conscious. They wrapped quickly and carefully, packed everything properly, made a stop for me to pick up a table and moved everything into my new place. They found great solutions for every problem that came up during the moving process. Now, here is the tricky part. You only really get to know a business when you run into a problem. Several small issues came up during the move, some of them based on my own misunderstanding and my own fault for not knowing how to operate my reformer properly. Hector, the owner, and his son, were a dream to work with in addressing these issues. They were extremely honest, gracious and kind - even coming all the way out to my place another day with tools to fix something that turned out to be my mistake. They were kind and gracious about it which I really appreciated. Honestly, we need more people like them on this earth. From the initial conversation with Hector on the phone to signing the final paperwork once the move was complete, everything was seamless. My parents needed to move out of their Santa Monica rental apt and put their items in storage to ride out Covid in NJ in my childhood home. Hector and his team were super professional, understanding, asked the right questions, came prepared with the perfect amount of boxes, blankets, bubble wrap etc and were extremely pleasant the entire time. The move team wore masks and kept their respectful distance. As i initially spoke to Hector. I soon realized this gentlemen was honest, caring, hardworking, and truly loved his business. The onsite crew arrived on time, and began wrapping, protecting, and loading our belongings as promised. Personable, and efficient. Up until using H & T Moving Company I had never had a good moving experience. H & T was different. Hector the owner is very professional and makes sure he has good people working for him. Not only that, but Hector comes and not only supervises, but helps with the move as well. He came to see my house and belongings and put a whole plan together, complete with packing and unpacking. He and all his guys ( I had 6 or 7) worked diligently and efficiently on my move. They were courteous and respectful. Hector came by before the move and assessed the moving plan, and also dropped off all my moving boxes, tape gun, packing materials, made it so convenient. I have used them 3 times since 2008 and they're incredible. A family run business that is on time, efficient, organized and worth it! No need to worry about them. I'm about to use them a 4th time for long distance. I live in Calabasas area now. In the 3 moves only a vase has broken and thank god my antique china cabinet curved glass has stayed together! They are very courteous and careful with your things too. Highly recommend! As a woman moving alone you can be assured that these guys make you feel comfortable and so professional. Worth every dime. I'll start by saying that I've moved 4 times within Los Angeles and always moved myself w help of family. I've given in and stand behind paying professional movers from now on. Still, quality and trustworthy movers can be hard to find. H & T Moving is it. I called 5 moving companies, most quoted within the same range for 2 guys, but once Hector, the owner, mentioned a 4 man crew, his prices blew the competition away. Logistics of my move: 4 man crew at $120/hour, 24 ft truck, moved from a one bedroom apt with a building elevator in Santa Monica to a single story 4 bedroom house in Agoura Hills, took 6 hours. I believe stairs effect price, so ask! My duties as the customer - Goal was to save movers' time and therefore, save me money! 1) Went to SM's transportation department next to city hall a week before my moving date. Purchased and reserved 40ft. OF TEMPORARY NO PARKING STREET SIGNS/PERMITS from my city's transportation department (you must do this especially if you live or move to a congested street w tough parking). I knew to do this bc I have moved to West Hollywood and Santa Monica in the past and know that reserving 40ft of prime parking in front of my building cuts down on mover's time and therefore saved me money on MY TOTAL COST! Sam and his crew even explained this to me after the move. 2) LABEL THE ROOMS WITH A CODE IN THE NEW LOCATION. At our new house, I taped signs near each door and on wall spaces so boxes would be categorized and placed in areas that made sense. "K" for kitchen, "Rm. 1" for Room 1, etc. As we packed the week prior, I coded each box with a correlating code. Once crew arrived at our new house we did a walk through and I showed them the labels throughout the house. Before they moved a single box they already knew where to put it. May sound crazy organized, but IT SAVED TIME UNLOADING, and therefore, SAVED US MONEY!!! Do this. Crew rarely asked where to put an item bc it was already coded. Crew said this system was super helpful and said it sped up entire unloading time. 3) Had cold water bottles for them at both locations and a snack at the first location. Showed them the bathroom they could use any time at both locations before they moved anything. Energized movers will work quick and efficiently. Sluggish movers work, well, sluggishly. Packed them a bag of leftover waters for their drive over. Sam, Jose, Javier, and Steve arrived 5 minutes early. Loved it! Positive attitudes. No complaining. Guys worked extremely well together. Super professional. Attentive to boxes labeled "Fragile" or "Glass". Sam is the owner's son. First, he and Jose inspected stairwell for one couch that wouldn't fit in elevator and then inspected our apt and all pieces, asked questions, clarified what was moving all before the guys began. This five minute inspection was helpful bc we gave some direction and a heads up about a few items. Then they began loading. Wow, they packed boxes fast! Shrink wrapped almost all big expensive furniture but 3 Ikea bookcases. Shrink wrap is a fee of $35 and worth it. No need for mattress cover, they shrink wrapped it too and carried it out in a huge mattress saddle. Super impressed bc our mattress was new and cost $1400. It arrived without a speck of dirt. 99.9% of items arrived safely and in perfect condition. Extremely minor scratch on leather couch and large scratch on one ikea bookcase that wasn't shrink wrapped. Small price to pay for all the crap that would've broken had I moved myself! Bottom line, H&T Moving rocks. I already recommended them to my sister who is moving next month. Reserve a four man crew when you call. It may be more hourly, but it's less than competitors, and takes less time to move, so costs you less! It's actually been several years since I've used this service, but I was looking them up for my niece who is about to move. These guys were so fantastic, I'll never forget them. During a period after I became widowed, my daughters and I moved several times during a short span. A friend recommended these guys and they were awesome every time. They were quick, efficient and fair. They knew to carefully wrap certain pieces of furniture without being told. They take apart and put back together stuff that needs it. They were very helpful. I've moved a few times in the past 6 years and this outfit was by far the best in terms of simplicity, communication, timeliness, professionalism, respect and something completely common sense: don't break my stuff. Now, while this may seem like an unwritten rule and obviously expected by any and all people that move, it's always on our minds, "what's going to get scratched up or broken on the truck on the way over here?" "who's going to drop the couch on its side and mess it up?" etc, etc. These guys simply didn't make any mistakes, and I realize by saying that, I'm setting the bar high and mistakes will happen, it's just that it didn't with me so this is a perfect review. Hector runs a great company and it's family owned, so families always get my business but on top of that, they paid my household a degree of respect that I've never seen before. Everything was double wrapped and kept in perfect order. I'll go so far as to say that I was moving faster than they were to put boxes here and there, move stuff around, etc, then I would stop....watch them.....and see that they were doing the exact opposite--they weren't rushing things because that's how mistakes happen. But they weren't dragging their feet either, they had the perfect blend of being efficient but not being in a hurry. It's hard to describe.
