Curious to find more (affordable) Korean BBQ in the area, I decided to grab dinner via ordering ahead on the Eat24 app. I'm a big fan of "So (Angus Beef) Bulgogi" so I ordered that combo plus the "Dak (Chicken) Bulgog" combo which each runs $13.99-14.99 each. The sides include kimchi and probably some of the best white rice I've ever had! Soup is also included but found it watery and so-so. Nevertheless, I go for the Beef which was delicious! The chicken is good too but as far as KBBQ goes, the beef is tops! Ham Hung is in a small strip mall off of Olympic and Harvard with a parking lot shaped as a "T." I found parking, and made my way over for my pickup. Staff was polite but didn't quite understand English, but luckily, I pulled out my order confirmation and she immediately grabbed my order. I'll definitely be back for the pricing and specials. This is a hole in the wall so eating in is not fancy at all; expect that mom n pop experience. TLDR: food tastes great! But it is pretty pricey. - food recs - We got the naengmyeon and galbi! The naengmyeon was really refreshing and of course, they had the mustard and vinegar on the side so you can put as much as you desire. I don't normally like naengmyeon but this might have changed my mind! It's really light and refreshing, so definitely get this if you're in the mood for something cold during a hot day. It was a good size so I would recommend it to someone who's hungry and looking for only one food to try. The galbi tasted great, but my only thing is the size. It was $27 for like 3 ribs of galbi, so not the best price you can kind in Koreatown. I honestly didn't have any expectation coming here. And oh man were my mind and taste buds blown away. I got the galbi jjim and it was legitimately the best galbi jjim I've ever had. We ordered hwe naengmyun and mul naengmyun and the noodles lit broke off into tiny pieces!!!?? We called the "manager" and he said he cooked the noodles on the spot but.. what noodles break off and melt at the slightest touch if made on the spot?? I took a video but it doesn't give me an option to upload it. If only I could.. The picture of the green onion was terrible too. It wasn't fresh at all and it was flat. By the condition it arrived in, it's def. over a week old or something. And don't get me started on their side dishes!! Holy crap I literally almost threw up from it. As shown in the pictures, I tried their pickled dish (?) and the amount of vinegar doesn't cover how spoiled it is!! They mixed it with perilla leaf and it made the kimchi spoiled. Typical hole in the wall Korean traditional restaurant with neighbors and takeout customers keeping the place open. Staple foods like NangMyeon with cold thin buckwheat noodles and excellent GgackDdooGi kimchi made of turnip squares and simple Banchan of two or three dishes were adequately prepared for the discerning Korean food critics. However the place is dated, one server for ten plus tables give solid four stars. The second main dish was fantastic, the cabbage rib soup, old fashioned bean paste based soup and two large beef ribs with generous meat on it tasted pretty decent. The style of cooking was very much home cooking with $14 average prices that are well below your average over priced Los Angeles Korea Town restaurants! I will definitely go back. As many noted, this is a hole-in-the-wall that serves solid Korean fare in a no-frills, old-school manner. We didn't try their famous cold noodles this time. But the BBQ was on point. Everything tasted good. Put it this way: it passed muster with my picky Korean wife. And all the stuff about indifferent service? We left feeling like we were fast friends with the server. Not the best nengmyun in ktown, but I do come here occasionally since they open really really early for a Korean restaurant. I've tried other things on their menu, but I would stay away from anything other than their noodles (nengmyun). I've tried their chicken kalgooksoo before and it wasn't that good. Considering the prices, they do give you a lot of food which is always good. The sari (extra noodles) is almost as big as a normal size nengmyun portion. Service needs to be improved. I'm usually the one getting up to grab cups and water (which I don't mind, but please don't give me a look when I do so). I usually order the mool nengmyun with the galbi. Again, not the best nengmyun in town, but it's decent and pretty filling. The galbi is pretty good so I'd recommend it as it goes really well with the noodles. This is the best cold noodle restaurant in LA. Ham Hung is a province in North Korea that's very well known for the cold noodle. If you are in the area, you must try this place. One hactic part is parking. Parking kinda sucks during lunch and dinner time. There is a parking security so he can help you find a parking tho. So far, I've tried "Sashimi spicy cold noodle = Hui Nang Myun" and "Cold noodle with Broth = Mul Nang Myun" They give you hot broth in a thermos. It's super good. The spicy noodle isn't too crazy but if you are not that good with spice, don't mix more than what it comes as served. It's served as already mixed well with spicy sauce. But if you mix more, it will get spicier. Oh, and you can add Kbbq beef 1 person portion at 6.99 when you order a cold noodle. (I think it was 6.99. Maybe it's 6?) Haha). I thought, OK, it must be a tea . Then, when I drink it (it was hot), tastes like ginger. Hahaha. I thought, is it ginger tea? NO! It taste like broth (Not sure if it was beef or pork broth!). And I saw lots of people drank it (comfortably). LOL (I must be crazy). Ahjumma didn't understand english very well, so I decide not to ask what kind of broth is that. When the food is coming, ahjumma asked if I want the noodle to be cut or not, and I was so blanked . But she said Yes, huh? And just cut my noodle immediately *epic! (With a big scissor!) Then, I taste the noodle, and realized, whaaat? It is COLD noodle. I mean, Literally COLD! (They put ICE with the noodle) it was like! Argh! This is my first time! Crazy! But was worth to try. Overall, the noodles taste chewy, also it is super thin (i heard that It is handmade noodle). And it is yummy. If you feel super cold when taste those noodle, just drink that HOT broth together. We came kinda early in the day so there weren't any customers yet but they greeted us promptly and we got seated. The menu is straightforward and I got the naengmyeon with marinated skatefish. The portion was bigger than I imagined and the skatefish was really good! I couldn't finish my bowl but I had to finish all the skatefish. Ordered the saekimi naengmyeon via Grubhub, was not disappointed! This was a great first experience - the noodles were bursting with sharp, acidic flavor and pleasantly slippery while the various other toppings such as cucumber, pickled radish, skate, and beef added extra crunch or mellow flavors to balance out the sour sauce that the dish came in. Not to mention, the order came with a piping hot cup of bone soup, which was mellow enough to sip alongside each bite of noodle. Very, very nice. The portion size, in addition to the bonus broth, is also enormous. It's easily two meals in a single container, or one very, very bloated meal for anyone feeling particularly gluttonous. If you're hungry, you'll certainly have no worries about getting good value for your dollar. As far as ordering went, the restaurant prepared my noodles with good speed - my order arrived in roughly half an hour. Driving was at least half the time, meaning that they had my order ready to go fairly quickly. It's also a nice touch that they carefully wrap their liquids and double knot the bags, so you can tell it's not a slapdash effort when it comes to packaging. In summary: gigantic portion sizes, impressive value, fast service, tasty sour cold noodles. If you like cold noodles, this is a solid choice to get 'em. Love this place. It's a hole in the wall, and I've been coming here whenever I'm in Los Angeles. Over the years I've had many of the items on the menu, but I come for the bibim naengmyun. Naengmyun must be super chewy. I get mine with beef. I like having the cucumbers and at this location they give you the radish that's usually sliced on the noodles as a side dish. It's simple. The staff are Korean with limited English but the food is solid. The other thing about naengmyun is that traditional tit is served with a beef bone broth. Most places usually give you soup if anything at all, but here, they'll bring you an entire jug of the broth. The broth is deeply soul satisfying. It's a taste I grew up with and transports me back to when I lived in Seoul. The food is tasty. It's no frills. As a Korean craving Naengmyun, it's a convenient place that is consistently good. Many of the Clietelle are Korean and Latinos. We all come for the spicy, authentic food that hasn't changed with the current food trends. I'll keep coming back whenever I'm in Los Angeles. read more

This place doesn't get all the love it deserves. They're my top spot for Korean food for delivery. Two things to get, their Seolleongtang or any of their cold noodles (I LOOOOVE their raw skate fish) I've never been to their brick and mortar and have only tried their delivery. My first experience was trying them back in the 2021's when covid was still crazy sauce and the company I work for was giving out Grubhub $25 credits for people working overtime to order delivery for dinner. I've tried about every Korean delivery restaurant and this one takes the top spot for their seolleongtang and handmade cold noodles. I think I've ordered their seolleongtang almost 20 times by now all by delivery. Every time the broth is deliciously rich and meaty tasting, and the thin meat cuts are always very fresh tasting and extremely tender (it never tastes refrigerated which I've had on several occasions at other seolleongtang restaurant delivery places). They also give a TON of sliced meat which I really love. Their cold noodles are also extremely consistent. Their sauce is the best flavored of all the delivery places and more importantly, their noodles are always consistently bouncy and delicious. It's not hard to see why theirs tastes the best to me if you're doing the delivery option as I do. The other best deal I highly recommend people try is their seafood pajeon. This also takes the Academy Award for best seafood pajeon in Koreatown. Specifically for the size and quality of seafood. The quality of the seafood is extremely fresh. I don't know how to explain it, the texture of all the seafood bits isn't gummy, it's perfectly firm and tender at the same time. It's more similar to the type of seafood I've had in an expensive restaurant rather than in a seafood pajeon. Value-wise it was around $32 and the thing weighs like...10lbs. And that's 10lbs of seafood, not dough. This thing could feed a small army. It tastes even better the next day when you warm it up and it comes in a pizza box it's so big. Their haemul soft tofu soup is also really good. I love the blue crab in it, and again, the seafood quality in the soup is incredible. This place takes first place in my books for the best delivery in Ktown. They packaged everything extremely well so there will be no spilling, it's very secure. They have the consistency of a Michelin starred restaurant. It tastes good every time I order. read more

This seems to be the place for cold noodles or naengmyeon! Naengmyeon is actually not my favorite food but after trying the spicy cold noodles that came with skate, I think I actually like neagnmyeon now. If you like spicy cold noodles, you would probably LOVE it here because they made me, someone who didn't like cold noodles, start to like it now. I liked it that the spicy cold noodles were not too overwhelming with spiciness and the skate was just so so so yummy. Skate has a bit of a crunch though because of the cartilage, so I can see why some people might not like the texture. I also liked that they had warm yooksu or beef broth as a drink. The warm, hearty broth with the spicy cold noodles was a perfect combination. Lastly and thankfully, parking was not an issue for me at like 6pm. Parking is free and there were quite a lot of spaces to my surprise when I went. We ordered a pork rib dish and got something that looked exactly different taking into consideration the written and visual description. After a day walking around in the sun, my friends and I wanted something cold and refreshing that would pick us up. We've heard great things about Ham Hung from friends and decided to check it out. The mul naengmyeon ($13) was so amazing and tasted like there were no compromises made. The cold beef broth with vinegar is very refreshing, especially if you're feeling tired. The thin buckwheat noodles were made in house and perfectly bouncy. The crowd is mainly older Koreans who miss the taste of home (that's how you know it's good) but don't be scared! Everyones minding their own business and the woman who was serving us was super nice and understanding even though she couldn't really speak english. Going in person is definitely the way to go. Most of the reviews from people complaining either got takeout or did not understand what the food was supposed to be. I've been loyal to this restaurant for literally 11 years and still am and continue to be, it's so delicious the serving sizes are pretty damn good for what you pay for and so flavorful, the environment is really calm and relaxing even when it's full, the service is really nice they're attentive and try their best to accommodate you and if you think otherwise you probably were the problem for sure. I would say the parking lot is sometimes really packed because it gets busy but you can always look for street parking if you really want to dine in. So grateful for this place I miss when their soups would be 11 dollars read more
