Had to flag someone down for silverware, plates, never received waters requested or any refill. We were handed a box and a check with a EAGS surcharge on it... what's that you ask... it's a charge they pass off to the customer to pay the BOH a reasonable wage. How about roll that into the price of your already over priced cold food? Or frankly, as just a cash grab... don't make your problems my problems. Never again. read more

This is a great place for breakfast! My coworker and I visited this morning. There were many options that looked so delicious based on the descriptions that it was hard to settle on a choice. I went with the Loco Moco, a hamburger patty with eggs on a bed of kimchi fried rice and all covered with mushroom gravy and fresh parsley. It was great and I really liked the little bit of heat in the kimchi fried rice. The kimchi added a great texture to the fried rice. The mushroom gravy was simple yet delicious and made the dish cohesive. An employee, possibly a manager, came around to see how we liked the meal and he mentioned the Loco Moco is one of the chef's favorites. My coworker ordered the Bread Pudding French toast. Wow! I had a bite and the toast was perfect. Perfectly toast on the outside with the soft pillowy challah bread inside. The fresh fruit, white chocolate and cream cheese icing puts it over the top to decadent. You do not need to put syrup on this as it would ruin it. It is delicious as served. I was pretty excited to meet my Stapleton friend here for breakfast since it's not really convenient for me otherwise. I checked in and received a free order of donut holes which were delicious! They came with a vanilla and chocolate sauce and we both preferred the chocolate. I decided to go with the pulled pork hash. I liked it; it didn't wow me. The pork was nicely seasoned but the rest of the dish definitely needed something. In fact, I added salt to it! We asked for a side of the green chile salsa and that was tasty and certainly helped. My friend ordered the Wake and Bake but added chorizo and avocado to it. I had a bite and it definitely needed the addition of the chorizo. I just felt like both dishes were under seasoned and lacking a punch of flavor. I will add, however, that I also ordered an almond milk latte (cheers for no additional charge for the non-dairy substitute!) and it was the best I have ever had. Seriously. First off, when walking inside the restaurant it was insanely crowded hostess didn't even greet us. Once we went up to her she was looking at us like if she wasn't an employee there, we had to ask for a table. Secondly, the serving sizes for everything, especially drinks is outrageous for the prices. And lastly, our server was super slow and disrespectful. Upon paying with cash she asked if we needed change, we said yes... her response was "you need $3, sure I have $3" and took it out of her own wallet. I don't know what her intention was. But overall after working in this industry, it is customary to not ask if the costumer needs change. Once we got up, she rushed to the table and was rushing us out of there. The fam was in town for turkey day and as one of my fave pastimes is taking visitors to new brunch spots in town (at least those new to me), we ventured on over to Stapleton and got in on some hashTAG breakfast. If I can give you one piece of advice when it comes to coming in here, it's to wear stretchy pants. Their servings are not for the calorie counters. Something about the Loco Moco called for me - TAG meatloaf / 2 fried eggs / kimchi fried rice / mushroom gravy. I wasn't sure what to expect here, but it was actually really delicious. The kimchi fried rice was the definite star of the show and the meatloaf and fried eggs were a couple of very supportive cast members. Very happy with this meal and would 100% get this again. Definitely spicy because kimchi, but deeeelish. The rest of my crew got the Carnivore Benedict (steak and bacon on a benny) which I think was just a solid 3. Not bad, but not a lot of flavor either. The rest of the fam got a couple of breakfast sammies: the Colfax 'wich and the Rino 'wich. They liked these just okay too - nothing that blew their minds. Though is it fair to expect a breakfast sandwich to blow your mind...? The table also shared a Huckleberry Hot Cake which was described as pizza sized...and pizza sized it was. One HUGE buttermilk pancake absolutely drenched in sauce (assuming huckleberry?) with huckleberries, pecans, powdered sugar. Pretty tasty and did I say huge? Check in on Yelp for a few free doughnut holes to get that appetite nice and ready. Though the rest of my table didn't fall in love with their meals (and should have clearly ordered the Loco Moco) I, myself, am a fan. There was a lot of hype around this restaurant and I don't feel like they lived up to it. We came here for a birthday brunch and while I don't mind waiting an hour for a weekend brunch I was disappointed at how the staff handled waiting guests. The first comment I have is about seating friends who show up and bump other people. We were told we were next and then a new group showed up who was friends with one of the waiters and they were sat in front of us. We had called ahead and were told you needed to be there in person so this was upsetting. We watched this happen 3x in one hour but didn't catch on until the end. When we checked on our table after what we thought was an hour we were told we actually checked in 51 minutes before and so it would be at least another 9 minutes - which is fine but was rude the way it was said. We ended up waiting for 1 hour 20 minutes because of the bump. When we were sat we did get some good food. The cinnamon roll and the chorizo were worth the wait but 1/2 of the meals we got were just ok. I would hope that the staff can get trained a little better so that this place can live up to the hype but for now I will wait somewhere else for an hour and be happier about it. read more

A good friend and I decided to catch up on life at Hashtag. We came on a Thursday morning and it was still packed. Fortunately we were still seated without too much of a wait. We started with the donuts which there is no way to get around this, were just not good. It tasted like they were baked and you could taste baking soda. The chocolate sauce tasted like Hershey's and the vanilla sauce was unexciting. I opted for the pumpernickel toast with smoked trout, eggs, avocado and orange marmalade. It was an intriguing combination of flavors and as it turns out was not my cup of tea. Had that been bacon jam it would have been a home run. But seeing as I knew the flavors and still ordered it which was my call, I'll focus on the presentation. It was sloppy and it had pieces of crumbs and jam smeared on the plate. There wasn't any plate decoration or sides to help.
