The Food: The burger itself was the highlight--fresh bread, juicy meat (likely Wagyu), and great flavor. However, the portions are incredibly small for the price. I easily could have eaten two. The real letdown was the sides. For $5.25, the small portion of fries arrived barely room temperature. Honestly, I've had much better, hotter fries at McDonald's. The Value & The Fee: Paying nearly $20 for a small, lukewarm burger and fries is already a stretch, but the receipt was the final straw. There was a vague line item simply labeled "Fee" (about 5%) with zero explanation. If you need to cover costs, just raise your menu prices. A really solid burger joint. While eating it, I kept thinking it was a thick smashburger that wasn't quite smashed enough, then realized they don't actually market themselves as a smashburger. Once you think of it as a regular burger, it's really good. We tried the classic, the one with special sauce, and the one with everything. It really depends on your preference, but the special sauce is a heavy hitter. Since this is more of a traditional burger, I'd recommend the Big Matty. Went here for the first time yesterday and I'll definitely be back. I got the Hiho Double and also an order of their fries. The burger was perfectly peppery and cooked well - I got it with ketchup but want to try it with their Matty sauce next! Because it's a smash burger the double patty didn't seem like too much. The fries with the Matty sauce were also really good! I will say the service was kind of slow - not sure if it's just because they're starting to get the hang of things for just recently opening or if the cooking process just takes awhile. Regardless it was worth the wait since the quality of the food was great! The inside is fairly small and it does share the space with Matu Cheesesteak. When I went Matu wasn't open yet, but I can imagine when it does open the seating inside will probably get even more full so just keep that in mind if you're wanting to dine in. I'm always in the mood for a good smash burger. Hi ho just opened this week so I dropped by to check it out. The setup of the restaurant is fast casual with a walk up style order window. There seating is self seating indoor with a small patio. The space will be shared with another restaurant with similar walk up style order window to be called Cheesesteaks by Matt which I believe is affiliated with Kazu Nori. I tried the Hiho double. The main difference I noticed with this burger was that it comes with lettuce and ketchup. All in all it was exceptional. It was very well constructed and not messy like some smash burgers out there. Soft, juicy, flavorful burgers. Since they are smash burgers, I would definitely go with a double or triple patty. Their fries are tasty too. The fires are on the softer side ... they remind me of steakhouse fries and not burger joint fries. Equally delicious! We ordered pickup via the app and they forgot to include an item. We stopped by HiHo Cheeseburger during the evening of their grand opening, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. We ordered the HiHo Burger, the Willie Mae fried chicken sandwich, hand-cut fries, sides of ranch and Matty sauce, plus a chocolate shake and a vanilla shake--and honestly, not a weak link in the lineup. What really sets this burger apart is the beef. The HiHo Burger is made with 100% grass-fed Wagyu beef from New Zealand, and you can absolutely taste the difference. The patty is rich, clean, and deeply beefy without being greasy. It's a simple burger done with exceptional ingredients, which makes it feel both elevated and comforting at the same time. Another detail I loved: all of the sauces are housemade, including the ketchup, which is set out in squeeze bottles on each table. It's a small touch, but it speaks volumes about the care and attention to quality. The ranch and Matty sauce were both excellent, and having housemade ketchup just reinforces that nothing here is an afterthought. The Willie Mae fried chicken sandwich was outstanding--crispy, juicy, and well-seasoned. The hand-cut fries were hot and fresh. The shakes were also excellent. The chocolate shake had a deep, rich chocolate flavor, while the vanilla shake was lighter and clean, with a really nice, classic vanilla taste--both well-balanced and not overly sweet. The space itself is great: semi-open air, with large rolling garage-style doors at the entrance that give it a relaxed, modern, almost industrial vibe--like a polished mechanic shop meets neighborhood burger joint. Service deserves special mention. Everyone was friendly, efficient, and clearly on top of things. Despite it being a grand opening, we didn't experience any of the delays some other reviewers have mentioned. Our food came out quickly, everything was correct, and the staff seemed genuinely happy to be there. Came to HiHo during the first few weeks of their opening and it was amazing! I can't wait to go back and try their chicken sandwiches. I came during a Sunday night and there was a minimal line but I have driven by and seen a line out the door before so just know there could be a wait! Customer Service was fantastic. I stopped by HIHO Cheeseburger today and ordered the HiHo, fries, and a Dr Pepper, and everything exceeded my expectations. The burger was cooked perfectly, juicy, flavorful, and you can really taste the quality of the meat. The fries were hot, crispy, and seasoned just right. My bun was lightly toasted and soft. Even the Dr Pepper tasted extra fresh. The customer service was amazing from start to finish. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure my order was exactly how I wanted it. The restaurant was clean, the food came out fast, and the overall vibe was welcoming. This was one of the best burger experiences I have had in a long time. Unfortunately have to say that I'm quite disappointed with this location of HiHo. I used to tell everybody I knew that HiHo was my favorite burger in all of LA, back when they only had their Santa Monica & Mid Cities locations. But it seems like since they've expanded, they haven't been able to keep up with the quality I'm used to seeing. Today we waited 25 minutes for our burger, and when it finally arrived my burger was just lukewarm and cheese barely melted. My husband and I agreed that our meals just weren't as fresh as we were used to experiencing at the other HiHo locations. The second part of my disappointing experience here isn't entirely HiHo's fault but just something to note as a guest thinking about visiting here: seating was a bit chaotic for us during dinner time on a Friday night. A family was hovering over our table and sandwiching us in between their conversations and after they finally moved away, immediately a couple with an untrained dog decided to wait right next to us as their dog was clearly interested in eating our food and also lunging at other dogs. There was just people waiting everywhere trying to get a table. Overall just not a chill environment at the moment if you're looking for a relaxing night. Unfortunately I don't see myself coming back, which makes me really disappointed because I used to love HiHo. read more

I visited HiHo recently on a Friday (5pm-ish). The line was very short and I was able to order quickly. I got street parking. I ordered the Pastrami Heat burger. Overall it was good. At least, it was a better burger than I have ever been able to make at home. Flavor was good. I will say though, it was extremely messy and soggy which made it very difficult to handle. I had no choice but to hold the burger in my hand the entire time I was eating otherwise it would have fallen apart. This aspect of it sort of ruined the experience for me as I couldn't really take my time to enjoy the burger. I basically had to rush to eat it quickly. I would go as far as saying it was the soggiest burger I've ever eaten, lol. I am still giving it 4 stars because again it's still better than anything I've made at home, but in truth I likely wouldn't come back mainly due to the soggy bun. Fries were amazing. I tried it only because the cheese steak shop was closed next to it. Was hoping that it would be a really good cheeseburger since it ended up costing me almost seventeen dollars for 1 small double patti, cheeseburger with a couple strips of pastrami. The price went up because they do an automatic six percent gratuity. But they tell you that this is a no tip restaurant, so they force a tip from you instead...I guess the forced "non" tip is for me to pickup my own food, get my own water, and throw away my own trash. Lucky Boys still has way better food at a lower price and larger quantities as well as faster service. I was the only one there at 4pm and it took almost 15 min for one burger.
