I normally dont leave reviews but I came in on Friday looking to finance a car as a first time buyer at 23 years old and John Locke went above and beyond to help me get approved for the car I wanted. At first i was not approved since it was my first time buying and its a high performance vehicle but he did not give up and tried for hours so that I can get what I really wanted. After some time I started looking at other options because I started to think I wasnt gonna get the car I wanted but I didnt want to leave the lot without a new car for work. Right before I made a decision he came through and was able to get me approved for the EXACT car I wanted. I still cant thank my buddy John Locke enough for everything he did to help get me right! Also the way he turned it on and said "hop in, this is you new car" before I knew he got me approved was the best way to find out its mine. I had some damage to one of my 2021 F150 tires and needed a new tire quickly. I showed up at Hilltop Ford without an appointment and was greeted by Kimberly. Very nice person to deal with and knew exactly what tire I needed, with a great price. within a couple of hours my truck was finished, cleaned and ready to go. UPDATE: kudos to William, the service director, for stepping up and making this right. My car stalled out a few months after purchase so I brought to Hilltop Ford for repair, since it's much closer to my house than the Walnut Creek Ford where I made my purchase. My experience started pretty poorly as the service advisor seemed to doubt my account, and provided absolutely no timeline. He and the other advisors were also sniping at each other when I arrived, which was uncomfortable. During the week that my car was in the shop I rarely received updates, and ended up calling every couple days. In fairness, the other advisors I would talk to were often much more informative than the person assigned to me. When the car was finally ready for pickup I went through an entire process to get reimbursed for my rental, which is covered under my warranty. When I called a few weeks later to check on the reimbursement the service advisor not only had no record of any such request, he had no recollection of even talking with me. Way to make me feel valued. Ultimately I had to resend the receipt and still haven't heard back. On the plus side, at least the car works now read more

After having my old car for more than 10years, it was time for me to let go. I brought in my EV because it appeared to not be charging after trying it at two separate charging stations (Volta's, to be exact). My experience at Hilltop Ford started with being misgendered by one of the service staff, which should have been my first clue-in as to how the rest of my time there was going to be spent. However, this review isn't really for that person, it's for John Tomahn who is the sales rep that called me after I had dropped off my car for service with a request to speak with me about buying back my vehicle. John called me on Friday afternoon and I informed him I wouldn't be able to speak about a potential buyback over the phone, but would be happy to see him in person on Saturday at 11am. He offered to have a vehicle sent out to pick me up and bring me back to speak with him. Saturday afternoon rolls around and the car is sent to the wrong address - okay, that's fine, miscommunication happens all the time in this world. Only, I've asked my partner to come along with me so now you're not just taking the time out of my day but you're also keeping them waiting and that is NOT acceptable to me. So my partner and I arrive at Hilltop Ford Kia and walk into the sales office whereby I get a cursory handshake and greeting from John who immediately directs me to another sales rep, who just identifies himself as "B". Great. I'm not sure who taught you your sales skills John, but shuffling me off to a colleague of yours after initiating this process isn't typically how it is done. "B" then begins to ask me some brief questions about the car, and I inform him that it would need to be a trade-in because having my own form of transportation is very important to me. He asks me which car I'm interested in and uhm, obviously it would be another EV (why would I switch back to a gasoline vehicle....?) of which there is really only one that they have on the lot. It's a 2019 Kia Niro, which is a car I am certainly interested in - seems like a good car. Sure it's new, pricier - but why would I trade-in a used vehicle for.....another used vehicle....? "B" then asks me how much I am paying now for my car (how he isn't already aware of this is beyond me...does Hilltop Ford Kia perform all of their sales pitches without any information about the vehicle owner?). After I tell him, and tell him that I wouldn't be willing to go higher than $40 more each month, he LITERALLY LAUGHS at me and tells me I would need to be willing to go at least $500 more to get a new car. Okay, then why did you call me in here? Did I just come to Hilltop Ford Kia to get laughed at? Keep in mind, all of this is happening in front of my partner. I'm basically being shamed and humiliated in front of the person I love, all just for thinking that I was actually going to be shown a deal. Instead, I just have some salesperson pulling up a calculator on his computer - as if I can't do basic arithmetic - showing me just how much money I don't make and just how much I can't afford. Is this why I came here? I would say to the manager at Hilltop Ford Kia, maybe get your sales people to actually LOOK at the loan/sales agreements of their sales prospects before having them call out? I bought this car originally with Livermore Ford, it's definitely on record in their system and you could give them a call beforehand, you know? Also, the service rep, Dave, LITERALLY looked at my charger cable and said "this one isn't a part of the recall" but he never actually LOOKED at the serial number on the cable so now, one of the original reasons I went into the service center I STILL have to go to a dealership to get figured out. You can't just glance at a Voltec charger and determine if it is part of an active recall, you HAVE to actually LOOK UP THE SERIAL NUMBER. Hilltop Ford Kia was a complete waste of my time. I will happily continue to drive down to Fremont to get my car serviced - at least the employees there know how to do their job correctly. read more

I would give zero star if I could, and definitely next time I should lessen to what the reviewer are saying and specifically the one that give low stars. Took the car for an oil change and they told me it will be 2:30 hour so I went for lunch and went back to pick the car and it has a huge crack in the windshield, and when I mentioned to the service person she said; you brought you car dirty so we washed it for you and maybe that happen in the wash. So I refuse to take the car and asked them to fix it, so they come with an excuse; the manger is in a meeting and you have to wait. I decided to leave the car and not wait, the next day almost noon and no call which they promised to do. Anyway, finally they got the manager and he approved the glass replacement, and now they said it will take at least 4 hrs to recalibrate the car after the glass replacement (it is not true, which I figure when I called again the next day). So I agreed to leave the car and another work day is gone, I asked for a replacement car and they told me they are out. I was told the car will be ready on day #2 by noon, 11:30 I called and was told the car will not ready until late PM. I told the new guy that his colleague promised to have the car ready by 12 so I can get to work. So he said he can have it ready by 1pm and the recalibration will not take more than 40min ( 4hr to 40min who should you believe). Obviously, Brenda was new to the shop and she was doing her best to help me get the car intime, also she is still learning the system and doing what she is told by the veteran standing by her (mr knew everything) and I would not blame her for any of this screwup as it started in the shop or the car the wash who know! Finally I'm picking the car, there is a black guy (bold), I ask him to help me as he was seating in his ass doing nothing and he refused and when I told him, I will never bring my business here, he replied; you have a choice!!!! It is the worst experience and will not recommend going here even if you are desperate for a repair... read more

After waiting anxiously for months to find the perfect car, AnNisha at Hilltop Ford called us late in the afternoon to let us know that she had our car. When we said we'd be there that day to pick it up, she didn't hesitate, even though it would mean a very late night. When we arrived, she made sure we test drove it, and then walked us through all of the features of the car. After our last buying experience where the salesperson at a different dealership only gave us the keys and didn't do any explanation or setup, AnNisha was a delight and very thorough to make sure the car was set up properly for us and we understood how to change the most important features. We finally walked away 2 hours after the dealership closed with our new car and very much love it! AnNisha and the rest of the team didn't complain a bit about being there so late. Every time I speak with someone , they promise to get the issues resolved and call me back... we are still waiting for a call back , we have not been offered a rental car, we have been hanged up on, we have been told to go to another dealership because " they can't fix it " and the transmission recall has not been done.. Yet we ran into a few technical problems with the battery and were worried about the additional costs that would incur. However Hilltop Ford Services assured us that everything was under warranty and would be fixed fast and at no cost to us. I was surprised by the amazing service Matt DeTorres and Robert Mora did to take care of our truck and not only did they inspect the battery but also made sure that all other areas were operating correctly. I had used the Hilltop Ford services before, but only for oil change. My car needed an ignition repair, but I was not sure if I would do it there. If it is wasn't for Matt DeTorres, I think I wouldn't have. He assisted me and he was kind, transparent, fast and very communicative. He was VERY honest about what my car needed and also how much (including taxes) it was going to cost, he calculated it to a T, and I was lucky to get some discounts! I left my car overnight and the repairs we done very quickly, by mid day the next day it was done! they sent a Lyft to my house to pick me up and Matt made sure to run the numbers again to make sure everything was transparent. Came here to get my recall work done. Got here a 9 for them to change my charging wire and inspect my door latch. It's now 1240 and I watched numerous cars come in an leave out. I'm not having any engine work done just replacing s wire ion my charging cord. I shouldn't of even had to drop my car off I'm pretty sure you unscrew 2 maybe 3 screws take of the old cord and replace it. I was hesitant to come here in the first place because of the way I was treated by the sales staff when I came into buy a car a couple years ago. I feel like I wasted my day here. I had rats build a nest in my car engine compartment. The rats also nibbled on the wires in the engine. So on May 3rd, the car wouldn't start. I had it towed to the Hilltop Ford Kia dealership for diagnosis and repair. It took them a MONTH to do the diagnosis. They kept putting other cars ahead of me to be serviced. So they finally decided the wiring harness had to be replaced. It took a week just to get the part to the dealership. Then it was supposed to take a week to install, but again they put other cars ahead of me. It took until June 22, to install the wiring harness. Then there was a question about the air bags deploying properly, and they ordered the wrong part initially. I finally got my car back June 27. read more
